After a quick consultation, one of the Sleep Center's physicians told me my insurance covered me for a sleep study and that we should get one scheduled. After conducting a one night sleep study for $5K, my insurance only covered half of that study and I was on the hook for the rest. I contacted several departments at UVM hospital to discuss the issue. They claim it's my responsibility to check if my insurance fully covers a procedure. I completely disagree with them- doctors should not begin to make a claim that a client is covered for a procedure, if there's any chance it may be for partial coverage. Even a chiropractor or physical therapist will explain what I'm covered for and/or copays. I feel that I was taken advantage of by this Center and I believe this is one of many issues with our health care system- we need greater transparency within our health care system.

Been waiting month to hear back from them about my sleep study. Then go to my regular doctors office and find out that I have sleep apnea. Doctor asked when are you getting fitted for a mask? Then I told him that this was the first time I’d heard anything about my sleep study. Needless to say he was shocked. Still waiting to hear from the sleep doctor more then 4 months later. This is clearly an unorganized department and questioning it ability to do its job. I do not recommend using them.

In the few months I've been going there, I have gotten progressively worse and I feel that no one cares. I stopped their treatment and I'm better. My advice is to go to a different sleep center if you want help.

My son used to see Dr. Appleton, I think his name was. He did what he could to help, but circadian rhythm disorders are incurable and there is nothing to do for it. But they tried and were very caring and good.
