I did my research and decided to establish care with Just Kids for my 3 yo and 8 yo. The appointments were some distance in the future, which is what I expected for a reputable dentist. However, less than a week later my 3 yo took a hard fall landing on his mouth. I called them and they immediately got me in that day to check the teeth and gums. The staff and dentist were kind, gentle and attentive. They listened to his ramblings about the fall and took extra time to make him feel comfortable. I know they squeezed him in but that is not how the appointment felt. I really am grateful for how we were treated.

Dr Balnchfield and Kathy were absolutely AMAZING when my son had to have a tooth removed.... They were VERY informative about all that was going to happen and used terms that were not scary for a 6 yr old to hear... They explained that they know the tooth fairy and they would put in a good word for him with her. They even wrote him a prescription for Ice Cream after... He never cried when the tooth came out... They were all amazing...

My 18 month old chipped his tooth while we were visiting Vermont. We called Just Kids the next day and they were able to get us an appointment same day. The front desk staff was very helpful and they have a great set up for the kids in the lobby. The dental hygienist and the Dentist both reassured us that they understood our son was going to be vocal and not particularly enjoy his exam :) but they handled it great and were very fast and efficient. No one made us feel ashamed that our child was screaming like a wild banshee! The prices were on par with what our dentist at home (NC) would have charged and they didn’t recommend any unnecessary treatments. My partner even suggested we just get our sons cleanings and checkups done whenever we are visiting Vermont

My wife and I were extremely nervous bringing her 3 1/2-year-old kid his first dentist appointment. Boy were we wrong. I’d love to say he was a natural champ but if it wasn’t for the friendly and knowledgeable staff it would have been a different story. Our son doesn’t like being confined or have things around his head. They made it easy for him and comfortable. He now won’t shut up about it and already wants to go back! They sure know what they are doing!

Dr. Rayes and his team are fantastic. The hygienist made it fun for my 3 year old on his first visit by showing him how to brush the dinosaur's teeth which really made him happy. We've been going to "Just Kids" for 2 years now and when the dentist tells my son he needs to brush certain teeth better, he goes home and reminds me that "the dentist said we need to brush here" and actually does it. Their new Golden Doodle therapy dog, Copper, is also a tremendous addition to the family and is wonderful with the kids. He sits with the kids in the chairs while they are at their appointments so they have a furry "friend" who will be by their side if they are scared. My son "lights" up every time he sees Copper and on occasion, he stops by just to give Copper a hug. We love the team here at "Just Kids" and are so glad for the recommendation.

I drive a little over an hour to bring my daughter who was previously scared of dentists because of an issue with people being too close makes her feel claustrophobic. And we had a very hard time finding a place that we were both comfortable, as well as some bad experiences at other dentists. After trying quite a few different places, a friend referred me to Just Kids Pediatric Dentistry. And i'm thankful she did. They have a great staff that is professional and refreshingly friendly. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a dentist for your child to come here first.

My son has Down syndrome and hates having his teeth brushed. Every trip to the dentist would always end with my son in tears and having to be held down. With the help of Dr. Rayes he finally sits in the chair by himself and lets him look at and brush his teeth! We are so thankful for his patience with our son. We just moved to the area and had our first appointment here today, but we will not be back. We had high hopes based on the stellar reviews, but we were quickly disappointed. Our dental hygienist, Nicole, did not know how to interact with children at all, something that I think is unacceptable for a practice specializing in treating children. Some highlights of our experience: 1. Our hygienist did nothing to try to establish rapport. She did not introduce herself. She also adjusted the chair to this preset setting that had my son's feet higher than his head. When he kindly asked to have it adjusted, she said "No, sorry I can't do that." Then when I insisted, she finally gave in and adjusted it so that he was finally comfortable. His comfort was clearly not important to her. 2. Our hygienist did not listen to my child when he was expressing discomfort during the cleaning and continued to let him cry without giving him a break. 3. Our hygienist consistently used "scary terms" that were indicated in a Welcome letter to NOT use when talking about the visit to the dentist and instead use "kid-friendly" terms like "sugar bugs and tooth tickler." Apparently our hygienist did not receive that memo. She also gave technical answers when he tried to ask questions, which left my 5 yo both confused and scared. Again, it's like she has never met a child before. I had to constantly remind her of the terms she should use because she clearly did not know how to explain things to children. It's honestly shocking how clueless she was. 4. We also expected to see Dr. Rayes considering he was the main dentist listed on their website out of two(and why we booked the appointment in the first place because he received great reviews), but we were surprised to see another dentist, Dr. Davis, who was not listed at all on the website. She was pleasant though and did know how to interact with children, but was not as thorough as our previous dentist. She never asked my child questions concerning his eating/oral care habits and never gave him any tips to improve his oral health. No mentioning of the importance of flossing or brushing. Basically nothing was explained to my child. It was very strange, because again, in the Welcome letter, it stated that everything will be explained to the children at the appointment and that we, as parents, should not do too much to prep them. This can not be further from the truth. Overall, the whole experience was very disappointing and somewhat infuriating. If you're looking for a fantastic pediatric dental practice that will help your children not fear the dentist, then please look elsewhere. This is not it. Besides the name of the company and the dingy toys in the waiting room, you wouldn't be able to tell they were a pediatric dental practice. I hope they can use this review to properly teach their staff on how to act around children especially because they are supposed to specialize in treating children. Needless to say, we'll be transferring to an established family dentistry practice that is closer to home because Just Kids was definitely not worth the drive.

I tried to schedule an appointment here for our 1-year-old foster child, but as soon as they found out she was covered by Medicaid -- ("What do you have for insurance?" was their second question, right after the age of the child) -- they suddenly weren't accepting any new patients. The dentists here may very well be outstanding, but I'll never know because of insurance discrimination. And while I understand that businesses have to make money to survive, this type of rejection suggests to me that at Just Kids, profit is more important than patients.

My children and I have had all positive experiences here, I am so glad I discovered this pediatric dental practice! My 16 year old has been going since he was three and his younger brother's since they were 1. Starting with Dr. Bachner ( who is now retired) they really make every effort to make the dental experience painless and fun! Dr. Blanchfield is so calm and patient and explains everything to the child so well and comes up with fun names for her dental tools, my 4 yr old just had his 1st filling (our fault his molars are a little tight for floss and we weren't diligent about it)and she called the drill the tooth tickler, and let my son feel it tickle his finger first, and he never felt any pain the whole time, not even when the needle went in, and Fabiene the dental assistant was fabulous! She and Dr. Blanchfield work so well together and she really made sure he was comfortable before, during and after. Also he was able to pick a show to watch while they were doing the filling work! Awesome! If you have not brought your child here, you should! The hygienists are wonderful and stress to the children the importance of brushing, and flossing and fluoride mouthwash, my 12 yr old has not had one cavity! I sure wish I had gone here as a kid and I wish I could go here now! They're new location is so easy to find, right in the same parking lot as Fogg hardware, and they have the best toys my son always wants to stay and play.
