I’ve been coming to Tanner Clinic in Syracuse going on 5 years now. The front desk is full of smiles and warmth. When Jan retired and left the reception desk I was so sad because she always made you feel so welcome. But just as Jan was they have two other great people who are there now. I see the best, Dr. Stewart, he never makes you feel rushed, he listens intently to me and then tells me his thoughts and diagnosis. His 2 nurses Michelle and Carly are wonderful. It’s like a little family back there. I live in Farmington and it’s a drive to Syracuse but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’m 60 yrs old very soon and this is the first time I’ve ever felt so safe about my healthcare. It’s the Sincerity that I feel here. This may sound a little mushy, but I meant every word! Just met with Dr Stevens. It was the worst experience EVER with a doctor. He did not listen to what was wrong with my daughter. I told him 3 times that she and i get this every year, sometimes more than once. It’s chronic. When I said I can’t have a sick child for 10 days before you’ll treat her because my other daughter has a terminal illness. I said he doesn’t know what that feels like. He got mean and said “don’t you dare assume what my family is like!” That he has 4 kids and one has a chronic illness. So don’t I dare think I’m the only one with problems. That he’s seen 20 patients today (urgent care) and every patient has problems. He said all that to me! I can’t believe his behavior. I am not there to take care of all the other patients and I’m not there to be concerned about his family. I am there because my daughter has been sick for a week! He’s there to LISTEN and treat, not to yell at me or get so incredibly rude to me. He said I’m welcome to call Monday if she’s not better. No way will I ever make contact with him again. Our other doctors are incredibly fantastic. Dr Stevens in NOT. Btw, a week ago he saw my same daughter and he told her that the way she’s taking another medication prescribed by Dr. Johnson (the best doctor on the planet) incorrectly and she needs to tell Dr Johnson that he has prescribed it wrong. Stay away from Dr Stevens.

The doctors are amazing. However not one appointment ive ever had has been on time. Its always at least 45 min late. The nurses are also amazing. Its the only reason ive stayed. When your schedule is packed and your chasing 2 toddlers alone it can be very frustrating when they are late repetitively. Hoping it changes soon.

He has excellent communication skills and is very sincere about helping his patience in diagnosis and working with children. I like when physicians will look you in the eye and treat you as if your are his most important patient. As far as I have heard he does that with every patient yet he leaves you feeling valued and important as an individual. For me he is worth the commute from East Layton!

I was very sick, so weak I could barely stand and I was immediately offered a wheelchair. The nurse that took me back was very kind and sympathic to how sick I was. I was diagnosed with the flu and Dr. Foote offered me two chouces of medicine. He exolained one worked faster but was much more expensive and allowed me to choose. It was so nice to get that information up front. I've had doctor's prescribe meds and then when I went to get them they were so expensive I couldn't afford it. They treated me very well.

I have been a patient at Tanner Clinic for over 10 years. I have brought my boys here since birth and visit their doctors regularly for ongoing care they both need. Dr. Owen is a fantastic doctor and has always treated us with nothing but respect and is the only doctor my children know. My doctor, Ryan Miller has also been fantastic with my high risk pregnancy and my annual care. My complaint is with their financial department, I unfortunately had an emergency delivery 11 weeks early and my child was in the Nicu for over 2 months. There was a lot of confusion with bills and getting things paid and coordinating benefits for one of my other sons. They called to inform me of my portion for the delivery and I didn't have the over 2,000 dollars they were asking. I told them I would see what I could do about getting the money all at once and call them back, I followed up with them after my son was out of the hospital (sorry had more pressing things on my mind) and let them know I was unable to pay the balance in full and asked if I could set up payment arrangements ( I believe I was speaking to Misty). There was no discussion, she simply said no and their policy was payment in full for OB services. This is absurd, I know for a fact that they offer payment plans. I asked to see this policy in writing and was given nothing that stated this info. I informed her that with the delivery bills and the expensive nicu bills, and the seizure my husband had right after the baby was born that paying her in full was impossible for us at the moment. I offered to give her a substantial amount but she didn't even listen to financial plan I had to pay them off. I had 700 to give them right then! and I was going to pay 400 per month after that. I think that is MORE THAN REASONABLE! I have never not paid an obligation to them in the more than 10 years I have been there, never. She informed me that I would be sent to collection without payment in full. I told her to get the ball rolling on collections then, another month later I went in to Tanner Clinic for my child's well check visit and they wouldn't see me. I went to talk to the finance guy at the Syracuse location and he seemed just as confused as to why I couldn't make payments, but followed what she had noted on my account, still wouldn't accept the almost 1,000 I had saved at this point. I asked why I hadn't been sent to collections so I could pay the bill and he said there were still claims waiting to be paid!!!!! WHAT!? So the amount she told me wasn't even the correct amount yet!? So they wouldn't let me make payments, they can't send me to collections yet, and they don't even have a final amount!? The next several follow up visits to my sons pediatrician were embarrassing having to be told I needed to go talk to Nick in finance only for him to say unless I had the whole amount he couldn't accept payment. I had to have the pediatrician make a note in order for my son to continue his care he was in the middle of (special treatment for preemie babies). It has gotten to the point that I changed my whole family to a new provider because of the humiliation of being treated like I don't pay my bills! Here we are almost a year later and I still haven't been sent to collections, but I did receive a letter telling me I had until March 16th because they finally got all the payments back, and here I am money in hand ready to pay my balance and I am really struggling to call and pay it without causing a stink. If they had just let me pay in payments it would have been taken care of and they wouldn't have severed a relationship and this bad review wouldn't be here. I am heartbroken to have to leave providers that I have relationships with and that my oldest son trusts. Some retraining needs to happen in the finance department. I plan on calling the patient advocate before I pay and I will post the follow up to that call here, for anyone interested in what they really do to help rectify these unfortunate events.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I have always had to wait thirty minutes to 2.5 hours to get into the doctor. Once in the exam room, I usually wait another 15-45 minutes before a doctor comes in. We finally took my children to a different pediatrician, because we could not sit in the waiting room for nearly two hours each visit. The final straw was a 2 hour and 45 minute wait, and there were only two other families in the waiting room. We now take the children to Wee Care, and are typically finished with our entire visit in 15-25 minutes. Most recently, I tried contacting Dr. Bishop’s office to have a simple prescription sent. I left two separate messages, and never received a return call. After a week and a half, I called customer care and complained. I set an appointment with a different doctor, Dr. Burtonshaw at the same location. His staff were on the ball, and immediately sent the prescription post visit. They also sent me email confirmation of their actions. The day after I complained to customer care, I received a phone call from Dr. Bishop’s office. The person on the phone said she was sorry I had not received her messages and wanted to set an appointment. I nearly laughed. I am glued to my phone as a job requirement. They never called or left a message. She told me she would not send the prescription until they met with me. That’s just fine. I understand that, but please don’t insult me by saying it is my fault I didn’t get a message. A simple apology and taking ownership of your mistake would have sufficed. As for Dr. Bishop? The Dr. us a good family practitioner. I will no longer see him, because of his poor office staff and the long wait times. I am currently searching for a location that values their customers’ time.

Top notch medical clinic. My doctor, Dr Bishop is easy to talk with, down to earth and up to date on my diabetic needs. He also gives extra service like quick feedback on test results even with texts. It is easy and fast to get an appointment there and if my Dr. is not available, others in the clinic will help you with refilling prescriptions and giving advice. The nurses are exceptional and experts on blood draws. "One stick, that's all" should be their motto. Don't know how I could be better served.

Tanner Clinic got me in very quickly. The doctor was very kind and understanding. I let him know what medicine works for me. I was shocked though when I picked up my prescriptions, I asked for cough medicine and found he didn’t prescribe any for me. Not happy about that!!!

Went in for extreme neck and back spasms that had been going on for 2 days. Dr Stevens told me "this didn't happen 'over night". Which it actually had. He said I had a hunch back issue that had been occurring for years. He refused to listen to me or my husband that this just happened and was getting worse. I went to the ER at Davis Hospital where I was diagnosed with a severe drug interaction, which starts with back spasms. My kidneys were shutting down, my blood pressure was violently unstable, and I had to spend a week in ICU. Davis Hospital saved my life. Dr Stevens caused me to suffer more than necessary and put my health in jeopardy by refusing to listen to the patient. Other drs at Tanner clinic have been excellent and are thorough. I was left in a very serious condition that could have had life long damage because the available doctor didn't think I knew how long I had neck and back spasms. Nor did he evaluate my medications that were new. After being sent home for having "an old lady hump that didn't happen over night". I lost coordination in my limbs and couldn't walk. I didn't have end up so sick if I was seen by a doctor willing to listen and explore the situation.

I like the text reminders the clinic provides, as well as very short if any wait times in the waiting room. This provider has a deep caring for people and seems to respect people’s time which is very rare in medicine today. I have been with Dr. Barker for sixteen years now, and I cannot imagine better care anywhere on the Wasatch Front! I referred my grown sons to him and highly recommend his services to anyone who appreciates “Old School” work ethic, with a personal touch.

The nurses are very nice but if you want a doctor to listen to your concerns and address everything, this isn't the best place.Their pharmacy also closes so early it is difficult to get your prescription transferred I have had problems both times I have come here.

I’ve been here a couple of times, the help is great although I did have an experience while leaving a facility around them of one of there doctors swearing and threatening 2 employees of the rush Funplex. They seemed really understanding of the situation an Apologetic but he continued to call them swear words. I will continue to go here but refuse to be seen by doctor Bishop. If he treats other people like this I can only imagine how he would treat his patients.

Terrible, terrible customer service! The last 3 times I've tried to see my doctor he out of the office until such and such date. I've called to get my lab results and the ladies on the phone just transfer me and transfer me to random departments who can't help me. They ask why I am calling and I tell them and they can't provide an answer for me anyway. I only went to them because it was in the neighborhood. Now its time for me to take my business somewhere else where they can help me and my family and provide better customer service.

I would NEVER go anywhere else. Dr. Bishop is the BEST!!! He ALWAYS listens to your concerns without making you feel rushed. He never just throws medication at you like some doctors do. He tries to get to the bottom of the real issue and never over prescribes. He is a doctor you can trust with your life because if he does not know the answer he will find it out. I would recommend him to anyone and plan on staying with him permanently. His staff and nurses are also amazing. They are very warm and friendly and and make you feel right at home. And on top of it all they have the Island View Pharmacy attached inside which has the best pharmacy I have ever been to In My Life their staff there is a group of the most amazing people I have ever known. Family owned and operated it's like taking a trip back into the 50s although I wasn't born then but I can imagine it's Hometown atmosphere is one of a kind. And the service is like no other. This place in general Tanner Clinic is a win-win you cannot go wrong.
