DO NOT GO HERE! EVER! 1. They charge a RIDICULOUS amount of money to fill cavities (or even for a basic cleaning). More than TRIPLE our last dentist! Then they have the guts to try and say they are cheaper than everywhere else. Absolutely not true! 2. Dr. Roth's bedside manner was terrible. He tried to force the nitrous on my sons face and forced his mouth closed. My son, who is five, was screaming and crying and saying he couldn't breathe and all Dr. Roth said was, "keep your mouth shut" as he forced his mouth closed. He did absolutley nothing to help calm him down. He pinned him down with his elbow and just kept saying, "You're making this way harder than it has to be, kid." He also kept saying, "You're just going to get hurt if you don't calm down." My son was also screaming in pain and Dr. Roth didn't even stop, just told me he wasn't actually hurting. Dr. Roth also stuck him SEVERAL times with a needle to numb his mouth and my son was clearly not numbed before he did this. He screamed and arched his back with every needle stick and Dr. Roth didn't even blink. It was horrific. My son and I both left traumatized and Dr. Roth just kind of blew us off and told us to just sedate him next time. He clearly does not care about helping his patients feel comfortable or at ease. He was just there to hurry and fill the cavities (using whatever man handling force necessary) and then go on to the next patient. **We read all the amazing reviews online and thought for sure it would be a good experience, but it was just the opposite. I was so disappointed in the service and their outrageous pricing. I cannot believe he works with children on a daily basis. Stay far away from him.

We've had such a great experience with Southridge over the last 13 years! When we moved from Stansbury Park to Riverton we were so happy that they had an office in South Jordan, too! I remember when my daughter was at her first appointment and she was terrified. Dr Farnsworth had her sit on my lap facing me and then he asked her to lean back so that he could count her princess teeth. She was totally okay with that and ended up doing great. Fast forward ten years to when she chipped a front tooth in a 4-wheeler accident and they answered on a Saturday and took care of her. They have been great with treating my kids appropriately for their ages and even as teenagers they don't mind going to the dentist. That says a lot in my opinion. Thanks for the great care over the years!

My Son has been coming to this Dental office his whole life. He and myself feel safe in both locations, and confident with the providers. Having a kid who loves seeing the dentist, despite having two teeth pulled is a HUGE deal! I highly recommend Southridge to anyone who needs a great Pediatric Dental Provider. I read all of the reviews before going to Southridge, and felt like it was going to be a great experience. I have four children under the age of six and was hoping for a positive first time dentist experience. First of all, the office staff are all amazing and so sweet with the kids. Dr. Roth, however, not so much. At our first appointment, I didn't feel like there was a lot of communication between the dentist and myself or my kids. He told my kids to brush and floss but never took the time to show them how or to tell them why it's important. I talk to my kids about these things, but it would have helped to have some professional reinforcement with the little ones. My six year old had to have a mini-root canal and so we returned a few weeks later. We had my six year old and my three year old with appointments, so we were trying to be with both of them. First, my son spit out the oral sedation pill, and so Dr. Roth attempted to force him to do a nasal sedation spray, all with no parent in the room. My husband came in to find my son crying and basically in a head lock. My son then screamed and cried during the entire procedure. He was freaking out and saying that it hurt. A few times, I asked if he was in pain and was told it was probably just pressure he was feeling. Dr. Roth never paused for a moment or tried to help calm my son. I had to help hold him down and did my best to talk to him and calm him. The only thing Dr. Roth really said to my son was to keep his hands down. Both my son and I left the appointment feeling very traumatized. My main concerns were that there was very little communication. No one really explained the procedures to me or to my child. The only information that I received was when I specifically asked questions. There were no hand-outs of what to expect or any verbal instructions. And I felt that my children were very man-handled and not listened to. I have cancelled my other children's appointments and have hopefully found a better dentist!

We love Dr. Farnsworth. It’s difficult finding a Dentist your kids feel comfortable going to. We have had our share of awful dentists in the past that made my kids scared to go to the dentist. Dr. Farnsworth and his staff have made my kids feel at ease and it’s no longer a day of fear in anticipation of the visit. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t excited and bouncing in their seats to go to the dentist, but they aren’t scared to go to the dentist now. Definitely a mom win!

BEWARE! Was recommended here, and set up a free consultation. Staff charged my insurance for an exam. IT WAS A FREE CONSULTATION and no exam was given, only a conversation with a dentist and finance person. They screwed up my insurance for the year and refused to make it right. Stay far, far away from these guys. Unethical business practices.

As a parent, I love the office staff and Dr. Farnsworth. With 5 kids, we have had occasion to have fillings and other dental work done and, while not a fun experience, the kids have been put at ease and they still like to go to the dentist. I really like this office and Dr. Roth is AMAZING with my kids. The office was a recommendation from our orthodontist after we’d had some trouble with our previous dentist. I am SO glad we made the move! We’ve been at Southridge over a year now and every visit has been great. They are quick and efficient - I’ve never had a long wait. The office is clean and the staff works very well with children. Dr Roth talks with the kids about anything he’s doing and gets their opinion on any age appropriate decisions. He is very gentle and soft spoken with the children. It makes a huge difference! My oldest went from being medically sedated for sealents at another office to using a bit of gas to have four teeth pulled due to spacing issues at Southridge. It was a huge transformation and it was all due to how the staff approach and work with children. I’d definitely recommend going to this office.

This would be zero stars if that were an option. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any medical “professional”. My 3 year old was treated so roughly it was absolutely unbelievable. I was so shocked how aggressive Dr. Roth was that I actually said a couple times during my daughters appointment, “Oh my gosh”. It was horrifying. He was squeezing her head between his knees and cranking her head back with his fingers digging underneath her chin. Leaving bruising and petechiae on both sides of her face, on her ears, behind her ears and under her chin and on her neck. When I told Roth about the bruising and petechiae, I felt like he gave me every excuse in the book for why that occurred, going as far as to say that it was from her crying so hard. I’m well aware that petechiae can occur from crying but not in the places that it did. Also there are finger marks under her chin. At one point he was cranking her head back so hard that I thought she was going to pass out because of how distressed she was. When I talked to Roth about how upsetting this appointment was he told me that bruising is a normal occurrence on children in the medical industry. Not only have I had this same daughter have many medical procedures done due to a birth deformity but I also have family in the medical field that say that bruising and petechiae is absolutely not a normal occurrence in a child’s medical procedure. I have never had one of the doctors that my daughter has been to be so rough with her and she has had countless doctors appointments and procedures done. I feel like Roth tried to apologize to me by making excuses for himself and also going as far as to say that it’s unfortunate that she had cavities in the first place, as if to blame me for everything my daughter went through at his office. Needless to say, I will never return to his office! I left extremely upset and traumatized as did my daughter.

I have been bringing my kids to Southridge Pediatric for many years! The kids love Dr. Farnsworth and Dr. Roth. A few times when we had no other choice, usually because of insurance issues, we went to other dentists. The kids always begged to go back to Southridge Peditric. They always said that these dentists had far more gentle and patient bedside manners than the dentists anywhere else.

We have been seeing Dr. Farnsworth since my five year old son was referred to their office, he is now 15 and still enjoys the office along with his three younger siblings. They are always friendly and knowledgeable, they're great to handle our insurance and see that we are taken care. LOVE Dr. Roth & Dr. Farnsworth! My children have seen both of them for more than 15 years. They have been incredible with seeing very young patients (my son had all his teeth by 15 months), regular dental care and even dental emergencies that saved my son's permanent teeth. My son has had extensive, complicated problems with his teeth from the time that he was a baby that could have easily created so many fears and trauma...but dr Farnsworth has been incredibly kind and loving to him. We have come here for 10 years now. When we had emergencies on weekends and nights both dr Farnsworth and Roth would meet us in the office and treat us like family. Always taking incredible care of us. The work that has been done is such high quality. The best out there. But the patience, kindness and love that they show my kids is irreplaceable. Our experience was fantastic! I have six children and have been to many dentists over the years. We have been happy with the family dentist we’ve been using for nearly 10 years, however our son who is 4 was having a difficult time with some fillings he needed. (Not the dentist fault, just the anxiety of my child) Our family dentist recommended Southridge Pediatric Dentistry to help our little boy. We went in for a free consultation, they answered questions and explained recommendations for moving forward. They did not try to “upsell” anything. In fact all we ended up doing was using the nitrous with my son. (Least expensive option) The office staff and the assistants were kind. The work was done quickly with ease. Dr. Roth was very gentle and comforting. My son was calm, no tears, no trauma. (We figured out the right time of day & the right interventions that would work for my child) I am not someone who has been coming to this office for years, and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone. I will be returning. They have up to date technology, a clean facility, and staff who are working smoothly together. Dental work can be traumatic for children. The wrong day, the combination of medicine, coupled with anxiety… It can have absolutely nothing to do with the dentist. I have a feeling that’s what’s happened with some of these other negative reviews.

The environment was nice, but the dentist was forceful. My daughter drank the medication but spit it out like she was brushing her teeth, simply confused by what he wanted. He didnt give her another chance or ask me if I was okay with an alternate method before shoving a syringe with A LOT of liquid in it up he nose. My daughter was hysterical. They then TOOK HER AWAY FROM ME. Absolutely out of my sight with the door shut. I've never experienced a dentist office like this and truly hope they read this and the older dentist relises his impatient mistakes. I CANNOT, in my good conscience, recommend allowing Dr. Roth to anyone for their child’s dental needs. Perhaps he was having a bad day but he has anger management issues and does not like being questioned. I accompanied my 7-year old granddaughter to an appointment to get a couple of fillings and teeth extractions done. Her mother had taken her several weeks before for two teeth extractions and she did fine. My granddaughter was cooperative about going again, appeared relaxed and at ease once in the chair, the nitrous was put on her, Dr. Roth came in and did not say much of anything to us and I assume was injecting numbing medication, although he never said what he was doing. He left and the assistant, who was very kind, watched over her to make sure she was ok. Awhile later he came back in and started to work on her with no explanation of what he was doing. He did not check to make sure she was numb before proceeding. I asked how he would know she was numb enough and he seemed agitated that I asked and said he’d find out when he started. When he started drilling I noticed her legs stiffen and she raised her hands and as he kept going I noticed she started shaking and I could tell she was crying. She couldn’t communicate with his hands in her mouth so I asked “Are you sure she’s numb?” He snapped, saying she started crying when he wasn’t doing anything that would hurt and that it was anxiety. I went over to the chair to hold her hands to comfort her and she gripped them so tight, I could tell she was hurting. The assistant kept trying to calm her, as did I. When he attempted to extract one tooth, she screamed “ow, ow” and was so tensed up and crying hysterically. I said she clearly wasn’t numb enough and he got angry and the tooth he was pulling broke in two. I said not to take his frustration out on her. He kept saying she was just anxious and knew what he was doing and he could give her shots all day but another one would not make any difference. He also kept saying she started crying before he did anything that would hurt. He was not gentle, did not communicate what he was doing to reduce anxiety, did not seem to care that she was in pain or upset, and would not listen to the patient’s cues or my concerns on behalf of a child who couldn’t speak because her mouth was full. He wanted me to hold her arms down and pull her shoulder down away from his hands because she kept tensing up. This upset her more. The way he’d reposition her head was harsh. He would not stop until he was done. I know my granddaughter well and this was not normal behavior for her and a traumatic and painful experience that could have been avoided if he had listened to me about her being numb enough. This experience was abusive in nature and uncalled for. I was disappointed the assistant did not speak up. I left in tears and feeling sickened that this could happen. PLEASE DO NOT trust Dr Roth with your child.

We seen both dentists for emergency visits and even though it wasn't as bad as I could have imagined they were still so helpful and caring and didn't make me feel bad for it not being worse.
