Happy with my experience. The wait was short and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that I asked for a prescription nasal spray and even though the doctor said she would write it she did not. I thought it was an oversite but when my pharmacy called they were told no as well. I’m not sure why I was told yes and then not actually given the medication. Over all a good experience though and I would go back.

There was no a wait but I did go in on a early Saturday morning. The nurses and staff were friendly and the doctor was great. The doctor was to the point and personable. They left little chocolates and water in the room and they had little snacks by the the waiting room. I was in and out pretty quick. They were also very quick on calling a prescription in, which was great.

I have twice went for annual checkup at AFC urgent care and have both the times had a very good experience. The staff is very friendly, receptionist greets you with a smile and helps you out whenever you have a question. The nurses are also professional and friendly. The doctor is an expert in her work. They took my money. Took my 17yr old for school physical and they would not clear him staying elevated blood pressure. I left got home took several readings on my blood pressure machine and got normal readings. Next day took him to his primary care and he also got normal readings and cleared him to play school sports. Will never use them again

18 months ago AFC helped save my life. I had a DVT (blood clot in my left leg) and it was finally one of AFC’s doctors who told me to go to the ED at once. Since then, I’ve used AFC as my primary care, and have always received excellent service.

I went there to confirm or dismiss the a broken rib I diagnosed myself with. I visited one of my regular MD earlier that day and told him I had been playing with my 17 year old niece and felt a pop in my rib. I knew there is nothing you can hardly do for a cracked rib so I had no intention of visiting a doctor but Dr. Johnson told me to get a x-ray to confirm it is not affecting a lung. I went to this clinic just to make sure and MD advised against it since I had not fallen. After watching new and seeing baseball player ending up with cracked rib due to message I just wanted to make sure. He said he really did not think I had one but it was up to me if I wanted to do a x-ray. why would a Dr. not want to make sure. I have had bone issues where they broke easily and never set right. To get the x-ray was my reason to go to them. I went because of their rating. Well the triage person was pretty nice but the wait time was long. there was only one other person in before me doing a drug test and one person after with a shard of glass in their foot. Why this visit took 1 and 1/2 hour and no x-ray I don't know. It is three weeks after injury and it still hurts, but i do not have pneumonia or any lung issues so that is ok. I have medication that will take care of the pain. Again wanted to make SURE there would be no lung involvement. Will not return!!

Wait time was less than 15 minutes and x-rays and results were done in another 15. Hands down the best experience I've had in an urgent care facility. Highly recommend!!!

I called before and was told there was no wait. The front desk assistants were super friendly, quick and knowledgeable. I waited maybe 10 minutes for the doctor. He was awesome. Very kind, gentle and willing to share his medical opinion. He offered more treatment than I had expected, not only an injection but a script to follow. The entire visit was handled very professional, but warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic and definitely use them again.

Was experiencing extreme dizziness, but telling the front desk that made no difference at all. Making me get up from my chair couple times to get forms etc. The doctor was nice but he should have asked me if I had asthma because I do and that could be somewhat detrimental to the drug I'm taking. He did put me on the lowest dose which I appreciated. I also was just appointed to learn that taking 50000 IU of vitamin D can make a person dizzy I did take that a couple of days ago and told him that but he said there was no correlation. The nurse was nice enough.

I waited for over an hour before I was seen, then continued to wait for another 30 min once in the room waiting to see a Dr. - The Dr. while nice did very little to diagnose what was making me sick. She asked me maybe 2 questions and didn’t answer any of my concerns. When I told her of my symptoms she said I should take a Flu Test. I am a mom of 4 and was exhibiting zero symptoms of the flu virus. When the flu test came back negative she told me to take some Benadryl. Then told me I was done and could leave. To say she left a lot to be desired would be a huge understatement. After 2 hours waiting, I spent $150 for a pathetic attempt to help/diagnose my symptoms and then sent on my way. I will never waste my time or money on this Urgent Care again.

The girls at the front desk were really nice but the Dr didn’t even examine me, she burly looked at my swollen leg and said there was nothing more that she could do but give me antibiotics. Even after I explained to here this has happened several times she said there was nothing else to do . It makes me sad that some dr’s aren’t interesting in curing but would much rather just control it.

Went during my lunch break - was taken back about 15 minutes after turning in paperwork. The doctor was efficient and listened to what I was experiencing. She gave me an antibiotic shot and prescribed me oral antibiotics as well. I was in and out in about an hour, which I was happy with! Would have been even shorter, but they kept me ten minutes after receiving the shot to make sure I didn't have any negative reactions to the shot.

Cut finger doing some yard work and hadn't had a tetanus shot in many yrs. Saw them at 7:20 pm on a Sunday - completed modest paperwork - went through fact finding questions with Christian the nurse - visited Dr. "Warren" - Nurse Christian came back in to administer the shot - Left by 7:40 pm. Please save yourself the trouble and go directly to a specialist for physical injuries. If it's something simply like a cold/flu, go for it, but otherwise Urgent Cares (not just this one) simply pocket your money without the experience necessary to give you a proper diagnosis. I injured my finger playing football at the end of September. I went to this Urgent Care within the week and they told me it was simply a jam and it should be fine in a couple of weeks. Now I am 5 weeks removed from the injury, and I went to see a specialist yesterday. I was informed that my flexor tendon in my right ring finger was completely ruptured and could have been treated had it been a week-old injury. However, now 5 weeks later, my only option is to try surgery and hope for the best.

In my experience, going to an urgent care clinic usually involves long waits in crowded waiting rooms, which is the last thing you want when you're already not feeling well. At AFC, I was in and out in 20-30 minutes tops. No crowds, no wait, excellent service.

Came here on my birthday for my problem which im still dealing with now was prescribed some pills that didnt worked they even called me and ask how was the healing going and i told them that it was no change in the progress which was for 7 days and it had already been 5 days was told to continue taking it still no change ao i called them back 2 times first 1st time they said i will get a call back because my doctor was off and will call me back never did 2nd call i was put on hold and no one ever came back to the phone so the call hungup i had no insurance so i paid out of pocket with everything was a little over 200 dollars the mexican lady and black lady in the front was rude from the beginning and over the phone i would not suggest anyone to come here because they take your money give you a pill which has notging to do with your problems to make it look like they attempted to help when in reality they dont care for you would never come back to this place ever again what a disgrace

I only needed a rapid strep test but the wait at Walgreens and CVS was 2+ hours and I have 2 young kids, one who had already been diagnosed with strep so I was willing to pay my Urgent Care copay in order to get in and out more quickly. I felt that the doctor was knowledgeable and friendly. I would return.

I’ve had to go see them for two illnesses in the last few months and BOTH times I walked in and was seen within five or ten minutes - super short wait time. The price is very reasonable for what it can cost at a walk in clinic, especially without insurance. Friendly, thorough staff who answered all of my many questions and gave great advice. Also didn’t try to convince me to do unnecessary testing which I appreciated as I was tight on money at the time. Would definitely recommend!

Very clean, friendly and professional. Excellent place for every day problems requiring medical attention when you can't get in to your primary physician right away or if you're from out of town and need attention. They don't have the fancy equipment for some life threatening emergencies but are great for basic medical care. Only reason I'm not rating a 5 is I rarely give five stars unless it's something super special! But this place is close as far as dealing with a lot of medical clinics are concerned!

My first time here was better than I expected from an urgent care facility. I waited for maybe 5-10 minutes, and then spoke with a nurse about my issues. A physician came in and quickly set a plan in place according to my symptoms. She even gave me a steroid shot right then and there to ease my pain. When I started to get an upset stomach because I hadn't eaten much that day, they offered me snacks and water so I immediately felt better. This team worked together well. I could tell they weren't rushed and really cared about their patients. I would highly recommend this urgent care if your doctor is not available!

I arrived at around 9 am and was out the door by 10 am. From the receptionist at the front desk to the medical assistant and Physician Assistant, the service was professional and excellent. They figured out what was wrong me and quickly sent over the treatment. By the time I got to my pharmacist they were already working on it. I definitely will go back if I can't go in and see my PCP.

This is an honest no BS review Straight and to the point Well I was skeptical just like everyone else but I have to say, they took really good care of me. Came in and had a friendly employee greet me and let her know I would give them one star if they didn't take care of me She made sure I was taken care of Little bit of a wait but it was expected since it was my first time. After the paperwork was completed, they got me in there in no time. The nurse practicioner was very knowledgeable and treated me like a human being and not a dollar sign. She really wanted to make sure I felt better. It's sad that some of these POS so called doctors in Houston look at you like a dollar sign and not a person. They don't do that here Thanks to all the staff at this location. I will recommend your Urgent Care to everyone.

AFC Urgent Care West University has consistently provided both prompt and excellent care when I or one of my family members needed to see a doctor right away! They are also very accessible with an easy-to-get-to location and plenty of nearby parking. I highly recommend them!!

Quick service and friendly nurses. Only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5 is because the doctor who saw me didn’t take the time to explain everything in detail about my prognosis...he saw me to make his decision of what how to treat me, then walked out and had a nurse come back in to give me the the prescription the doctor had written for me. I asked the nurse the questions I hadn’t had the time to ask the doctor, and luckily for me she knew how to help me.

When I was seen for my drug testing it was extremely fast, less than 5 minutes. However, I waited 30 minutes and had to ask them to see me. For drug screening where I had all paperwork pre-filled out, this should be a very quick process. If there are critical patients ahead of me I will certainly understand. However, I'm the easiest client to get in and out the door, so it should be done right away, and was not in my case. The staff was nice otherwise.

I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. I don’t write reviews unless a place is very good or very bad. This place is not worth the money or time. #1 The person I saw didn’t even introduce himself as a doctor, AND didn’t even knock before entering the exam room. This “doctor” asks you to tell him what you want to do instead of offering expert advice and telling you what he recommends, as a doctor should do (waste of money). #2 He made very unprofessional remarks and made me feel uncomfortable. #3 The pre exam vital check: the thermometer they had read 99.5, but when I took my temperature (with a WORKING, tried and true device) at home immediately following the exam, it read 98.1. #4 They keep your credit card ON FILE, but say they won’t charge it because they will send you a bill. So why do they need to keep a card on file? What trusted doctors office does that? I’ve gone to other urgent cares that don’t keep your card on file, so it’s not necessarily protocol. If any of the above concerns you, I’d say stay away. Just go to your regular doctor if it can wait a day or two, or go to ANY other urgent care if it’s that bad, but not bad enough for the ER.

Efficient and friendly - also, snacks!! I arrived shortly after opening with a sore throat and was through paperwork and seen for vitals in what felt like less than 10 minutes. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. While I hope noone *has* to visit urgent care, if you do, this is a good one!

I was out of state and in need of care, and this urgent care facility exceeded my expectations! The staff was so nice and caring, and gave me all the medical attention they possibly could for the pain I was in. I received an x-ray with results before I left, a shot and prescriptions. The care I received was immediate and thorough. I could not have gotten better! I'm so grateful!

THE STAFF AT AFC IS AMAZING! I came in frustrated after being pushed around by the insurance company, thinking this was only going to add to my headache, but I was totally wrong! Shannan was genuinely concerned about helping me get the treatment I needed. She was quick and knowledgeable about everything I asked her. Emily was kind and gentle and took my attention off of the needle (which I was terrified of). Sharon made sure to answer all of my questions and address the areas that were causing me pain. I cannot believe how pleasant my visit was. On top of all of the great staff - they are opened 7 days a week, most days until 8 pm. The facility is clean and well kept. Make this your choice, I promise you will not be disappointed!

This place was recommended to me by a friend and after checking the reviews my expectations were high. But I was not disappointed, the staff was really nice, everyone was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. The physician took his time to talk to me to figure out what was going on and his suggestions were very helpful. A few tests were ordered for a couple of days later but the doctor's suggestions helped so much that they were not needed anymore. When I called in to have them canceled, the lab fees that I had paid during the visit already were reimbursed within.. like minutes. Great place, I would always recommend to come here. Nurse/MA Shannan (probably spelling it wrong) was especially nice and helped to make this a very positive experience.
