I highly recommend Dr Wang and the SMILE procedure. The procedure was painless and I was able to see well enough to drive and shop the very next day. I have only had minor irritation (dry eye) which quickly resolves when using the eye drops and I am amazed that I can wake up and see without contacts or glasses. (which I've been wearing religiously for 20 years) Thank you so much Dr. Wang and staff!!

From the moment we walked into @ Wang Vision Institute, it was all about excellence...from their front office staff, eye exams (determining if I were a LASIK candidate) Jay Wright (getting me prepped and ready for surgery) to the humble and amazing Dr. Ming Wang to perform my 3D LASIK surgery. I read these reviews and decided to book an appointment. I waited for about an hour and there weren't many people waiting. they seemed disorganized. Before and during the exam they tried to sell me. Dr. Wang came in and did the same without looking at my exam. I was polite and said I would think about it. I am not coming back and having surgery here. The office kept calling me and I just had to tell them to stop. I can't recommend Wang vision institute.

Yesterday morning I couldn't see well enough to even find my glasses when I woke up because of how extreme my far sightedness was. Yesterday afternoon Dr. Wang prayed over me and asked God to bless the surgery he was about to perform. After the surgery he told me that far sightedness is difficult to correct but that God had been with us throughout the surgery. That night, Dr. Wang called to check on me. This morning I woke up to a whole new world. Less than 24 hours after 3D LASIK surgery I am seeing 20/30 in my right eye and 20/25 in my left. As the week goes on I should progress to 20/20 - an outcome I didn't believe was possible. 99% of surgeons could not do what Dr. Wang did. Dr. Wang is an incredible surgeon, and his staff treats you like family. I am so thrilled with my results and would recommend the Wang Vision Institute to everyone no matter which particular issue you have with your eyes.

I was very impressed with Dr. Wang and his staff. I had the 3D Lasik Surgery and was very pleased with the results. I was able to read without having to use my glasses right after my suregey. This surgery will change the quality of my life tremendously. I am an avid hunter and it was very difficult to shoot a gun with glasses. From the moment, I walked into Dr. Wang's office I was treated like royalty. All of his staff are so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I absolutely loved my experience with Dr Wang! I was explained how everything was going to work, and when it was going to happen. I was at first nervous but when I entered the operating room and just before my procedure Dr. Wang did something that no other doctor has done for me, he prayed for me, and the procedure. I wish more doctors were this personable, it really put me at ease. I had Intacts put in my left eye, and it took what seemed like ten minutes for the whole procedure. I went home that night following the very clear instructions given by Dr Wang and his staff, and yet another wonderful surprise; Dr. Wang called me personally to see how I was doing. I was taken back by this and the complete attention that I received from Dr. Wang and his staff.

It took me 3 years to be brave enough to undergo the Forever Young Lens surgery. Dr. Wang and his staff relieved my angst right from the beginning. The testing was incredibly thorough. More thorough than a previous doctor which greatly increased my comfort level. All my questions were answered very courteously and patiently. They were very careful to make sure I understood everything that could happen post op. By the time I went to surgery I was as comfortable with the procedure as I could be. Dr. Wang prayed with me before both surgeries. (And I for him...a LOT...it is vision you know). Surgery went great, pain was minimal, recovery was easy and vision has improved quite a lot. Any word of advice I could give to anyone....don't go for the knife...go for the laser. Oh ya....I no longer have to use glasses to read ! WOO HOO !

I had the 3D Lasik done on both eyes and If you have worn contacts for any amount of time you know how frustrating they are. I can't tell you enough how awesome it is to be able to see without them and I just had the surgery 1 day ago! Dr. Wang and his staff are amazing! The actual procedure is painless but I will say that it burns a lot on the way home and for a few hours but it was well worth that and the money. The staff were very friendly and helpful and Dr. Wang was there the entire time to help with any questions and even called at 9pm the night after my surgery to see how I was feeling!! Dr. Wang went through a series of test to best help me and my vision. I am so happy my husbands friend referred him to us because without him Dr. Wang would have never fixed my astigmatism. I was always off balanced and clumsy my whole life. Now that my right eye is corrected I might dare to wear high heels for the first time. I can not even explain how nervous I was for the surgery but once I seen Dr. Wang and he explained the procedure and let an employee of his how had the surgery talked to me it eased my nerves tremendously. I was prepped for surgery and the surgery suite is keep cool they offered me a blanket and talked to me to also calm my nerves until the surgery was started. I had Dr. Wang perform laser cataract surgery on my right eye on Tuesday April 7, 2015. At that time, my vision was very poor. Here it is one day after the surgery and I can already tell a HUGE improvement in my vision. I wish that I had done this sooner. Dr. Wang has a wonderful bedside manner and is a good Christian man. He explained everything he was doing througout the procedure and even said a prayer with me before he started. That really touched my heart. I am having my left eye done next Tuesday, April 14th and am sure that I will be seeing twice as good in no time. I thank God for steering me to Dr. Wang. My mother-in-law (Suzanne Richardson) was recently operated on at the center. They did both eyes over a period of 3 days. While still taped over one eye, the other has improved immeasurably. They also corrected her astigmatism (in both eyes) while they removed her cataracts. A fast surgery that went very well. The post surgical follow through was like none we have ever experienced. Dr. Wang actually cared enough to call her, several times to ask how she was doing and if she needed anything. In today's world, that is unusual. Dr. Wang is amazing! I was skeptical to have lasik and my then after 12 years decided I was ready. My optometrist told me I couldn't have it done because of my astigmatism. I went to Dr. Wang and because he specialized in irregular astigmatism he said it would be possible! I went in and it was wonderful. I had NO pain whatsoever. I loved his staff too because everyone was so nice and informative. It truly was a great experience and I would highly recommend him to every one. The best part was he was there for my initial consult, he performed the procedure and was there for my follow up exam. Every step of the way. He even prayed with me before surgery. I had a GREAT experience at Wang Vision Institute. I had the 3D laser cataract surgery performed. The nurses were so nice and answered all my questions. They made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole process. After the laser portion of the surgery was done; Dr. Wang came in to insert the lens into my eye, 30 minutes and he was done! What an operation (no pun intended)! From start to finish, the professional staff at the Wang Vision Institute were exceptional. They took me step-by-step through the procedure, explaining everything along the way. If you have any respect at all for learning, just look at his credentials from Harvard to MIT. It’s easy to say Dr. Wang is a brilliant healer but he is a genuinely nice guy, as well. The staff he as assembled at WVI also show the interest they have in obtaining the best results for their patients. The facility also reflects their investment in the latest technology. As a patient who knew little about cataracts, one comes away with a better understanding of the process so you can make informed decisions. At WVI you are a partner in your own care. I am wholly and unequivocally satisfied with my results - and I write this only 24 hours after the surgery!

I had Dr. Wang perform cataract surgery on both eyes. I should have listened to my instincts and not have used him. I paid approximately $4500 out of my pocket, this is above what my insurance paid in addition. Like many have said, my visit was more of a sales pitch. My 1st visit I was there at least 3 hours. They did warn me of the amount of time I would be there for the initial visit but I didn't realize the time was to hear a sales pitch. After the techs performed various exams, and I was shuffled in and out of at least 4 different rooms, I was put in a room where the Office Manager came in and rattled off a long list of different procedures at various price levels. Then once again I was moved to another room where "The Great Wizard", Dr. Wang, made his entry. After a brief conversation of the particular surgery I chose, my surgery date was scheduled. The surgery did improve my eyesight but the results were nothing I could not have gotten somewhere else, and most likely at a much lower cost. However, I did get a T-shirt and a quick picture with him holding it in front of me so he could put it on his website. Around 6 months later I received a phone call verifying my appointment, which I had not scheduled. I questioned if this appointment was included in what I had already paid and they said no the cost will be $112. My wife bought his book they were selling in his office but I'm not interested in reading it. Looks to me that his medical ethics have taken a backseat to his greed. My wife will be having Cataract surgery and there is no way we will use him. I have lost all respect for him. I know there are numerous positive reviews but I highly suggest you review the bad ones. Hope I can save someone else from this experience.

Awesome experience! Great staff and Dr. Wang treats you wonderful. He even called me after 8 at night to check on me personally. I have been wearing contacts and glasses since the third grade and now am 35. The instant that I sat up on the table in the operating room I could see better. The day after surgery I was 20/20 in both eyes. I would highly recommend Dr. Wang and his staff. If you are wanting to have this surgery done. Get it done by the only 3D LASIK surgeon in the state.

I have never met doctor Wang but was introduced of him verbaly through a friend who thought he may be of help to my condition therefore I sent an email & received a response that doctor only deals with the front of the eye. A few months later the same friend called me back and there was a possibility that doctor Wang may be going more extensively into the eye area by taking a look at dealing with the back of the eye and she encouraged me once again to reach out. I already knew that he was seeking donations and I am a giver and wanted to give regardless of whether I could be helped through his services or not therefore I reached out by way of letter, sending my medical records as a guide and I also included a donation. I did understand that if he were to deal with the back of the eye it would still be few years out and I had already found a doctor that was looking at my case but still wanted to help this institute because of my issue I know that there are others out there that are going through something similar. After a couple of months had passed I contacted the institute just to see if they had received my letter, medical records for references and donation. To this day no one has taken the time to return my call. I am glad that I did send the donation as my heart lead me to do but it won't happen again and if someone was to approach me about doing the same I would have to give them detail on my experience.

I chose not to follow through with Lasik after realizing what a gimmick his entire practice is. I went through with the "free" eye exam and paid for my prescription. I ordered glasses online and noticed a drastic decline in my vision, increase in migraines, and eye strain. I do not have vision insurance so I waited to see if my headaches would get better. I chalked my vision issues as a result of getting older, lack of sleep, etc. I went to my original optometrist whom I have seen for years and when he checked my glasses, he realized Dr. Wang's office was negligent and carelessly gave me someone else's prescription!!!! I have scripts from my optometrist from both before and after my visit with Wang and my measurements are only slightly different with a 5 year gap in appointments. You would be an absolute fool to allow a doctor to take a scalpel to your eye when he can't even keep his medical records straight. I am absolutely appalled that due to Dr. Wang's direct negligence , I have suffered for so long with migraines, lost wages, endured emergency room visits and missed so many activities with my family due to incapacitating migraines. His "free" eye exam, unbeknownst to me, has cost me thousands of dollars in various medical expenses all because I put my trust in a DOCTOR who travels the state promoting his "amazing skills" and he failed to provide anything but problems. TL/DR - Any "DOCTOR" who spends so much time promoting his practice with promises of "discounts" and "free" services is NOT someone you want to take a scalpel to your EYE and risk permanent blindness. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!

Great reputation but he runs an eye surgery factory and appears to not really care about his patients. He seems to care more about self-promotion - his books are for sale throughout his office, posters of him are everywhere - it's all about him. My wife had a cataract removed and a lens inserted. Should be a simple procedure. The surgery went well but she got a ferocious infection following the surgery. Rather than accept responsibility, he tried to place her at construction site or some other place where she could have gotten the bacteria. Treatment has been ongoing with a separate retina center in Nashville (and they are fantastic) and her eyesight has not improved. The retina center folks warned that she could lose her eyesight in the affected eye and thank goodness, it appears she'll overcome the infection. Dr. Wang only checked on her through another office clinician/maybe optometrist (she is very nice and caring). When Dr. Wang did finally see my wife, he couldn't get out of the room fast enough and no caring attitude whatsoever. Yes, he must be smart and has all kind of college degrees. Yes, he has a good story (buy his book and you'll learn about him). But if you are looking for someone who really cares about you, find another doctor.

I had the best experience with Wang Vision. I wore contacts for ten years and a few months ago developed an allergy to the contacts that prevented me from wearing them. I had 3D Lasik with Dr. Wang and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was very accommodating and ensured me from the time I walked through the door until I left I was in good hands. I have been wearing contacts and glasses since elementary school around 25-30 years. I no longer have to worry if I would be able to see, if my contacts are going to cause problems, if one falls out, not having my glasses etc. It was a simple painless procedure that took less than 1 min for each eye. The day after surgery you are required to drive to Nashville at 6:00 am to see Dr. Wang. He does NOT check your eyes. You are there for him to offer you $50 per each 5 star review you give him on 2 or 3 different sites. He actually gives you a full print page for each of the different sites with directions for the review and the amount you will be paid. Pleas know - Yes, I am a dissatisfied patient. BUT, I waited a LONG time to write this review so I would not come off as being one who was upset because of his tactics. I am upset because of his false promises and skewed advertising. I am an RN/BSN who wants to prevent others from making a bad decision.

Dr. Wang's credentials speak for themselves, but it is the personal attention he gives every patient that I believe sets him apart. I had the most amazing experience with Dr. Wang. I did exhaustive research and visited other centers and no other doctor was able to address my abnormal astigmatism. The day after my LASIK surgery I saw without blur for the first time in over 20 years. Dr. Wang himself called after the surgery to check in, and during the checkup the next day, he was very excited with the progress. As was I. He was also kind enough to offer my son the opportunity to shadow him at his office to give him a positive visual of the interests my middle schooler already shows. He told me what my expected outcome would be, vision of around 20/40-50 without glasses - I had the surgery yesterday and went in this morning for the post-op visit and was able to read the 20/30 line without glasses - expectations exceeded. They advised that as the swelling goes down and the dilation wears off, that my vision should improve even more - I hope that this is the case. In between the schedule and the actual surgery, I was in email contact with my medical secretary, which wasn't always reliable, so at times, I had to call in to make my inquires, Eric, my medical secretary was very helpful in addressing my questions and concerns. Eric, like Dr. Wang, was also very caring and a man of faith - which I found to be encouraging. I highly recommend the Wang Vision Institute for your vision needs!!

My father was legally blind in his right eye, and almost in his left. He is very independent, lives alone and drives all around Nashville and beyond. Dr Skelo, close to St Thomas West, didnt want to help him arrange cataract surgery. She told him that he didnt have to have the surgery because it was an elective procedure. She also told me behind his back that i shouldnt let him drive, as his cataracts were very bad. She gave a laundry list of obstacles to overcome.We began jumping through many hoops. Once we had a clearance for surgery letter from a family medicine doctor, and took it to her office...we didnt hear from her, and I called several times. And I finally said that i met her criteria for being able to schedule surgery. She then picked up the phone and wanted to add further testing and still refused to help us...it was on a Thursday afternoon and I was so discouraged. This is a low risk procedure. I googled cataract surgery, and of course Ming Wang popped up. I called and the sweetest voice was on the other line. I told her of our struggles, and she said, "how early can you come in the morning!" And that "catarat surgery is a necessary surgery, if one wants to be independant, drive, have any kind of quality life" that is exactly the way we felt...came to his office early the following day...had many types of exams, saw Dr Wang, obtained a prescriptions for the necessary drops...and scheduled surgery for rhe following Tuesday. Everything went perfect. Had the second eye surgery two weeks later. We always looked forward for the many follow up visits. My dad just loves Dr Wang, Dr Connelly, and all of his wonderful staff. My dad says that he feels like they had a genuine concern for him and his needs. They always treated him like the most important patient ever!!! I will add that Dr Wang called to check on him, the evening, after each surgery. This meant a lot to my dad. It is truly liberating and life changing to begin each day without the need of glasses or contacts for the first time since I was five years old. Dr. Wang is undoubtedly the best surgeon around yet still remains modest and kind. My vision was -10.00 and -9.5 in my left and right eye, respectively. God bless Dr. Wang - I had the opportunity to read much of his auto-biography while waiting 1 hr 45 min in the waiting room. I had a 10AM appt and they were 2 hrs behind while only 2 hrs into their day. They then did a quick 5 min exam - The examiner was competent enough, nice guy. Then I waited another 30 minutes until they put me in another room. A doctor came in after 10 more minutes and informed me that I'd be there for about another two hours, literally. I am not exaggerating ANY of this review. I simply informed her that I have other obligations today and simply left. I also had to fill out a TON of paperwork prior to my appt. I have another eye exam in two days with someone else and the paper work is barely 3 sheets of paper. Dr. Wangs autobiography is very impressive. No surgery is a pleasant experience, but I have to say that Wang Vision Institute makes it as close as possible. The initial testing was very thorough and not uncomfortable at all. It gave me peace of mind to learn the true extent of my problems. In consultation, Dr. Wang described what he saw inside my eyes and what it meant. He let me know what he would do and how much correction I could expect. He did not promise that everything would be perfect but gave me a solid confidence that the surgery he has developed would help me. It has. I'm in my fourth week of recovery. Every day my eyes get better. I had the 3D laser "Forever Young" lens in both eyes and for the first time in about 35 years, I do not need glasses. I never thought I would have this kind of freedom because astigmatism would always be with me. Now that I am older, the cataracts had made surgery pretty much unavoidable and the new lens Dr. Wang has developed gave me my first glimpse of life without astigmatism. Wow! The experience has been amazing. I appreciate Dr. Wang so much. His dedication to excellence shows in all that he does. His staff is all top notch. The procedures they have in place make the process of getting the attention you need go smoothly. I have felt cared for. I am confident recommending Dr. Wang and the Vision Institute to others based on all that I have learned and experienced.

I had a great experience at Wang vision institute. Dr. Wang was very informative about the different options for my far sighted vision. Granted I am a 52 year old woman with very poor vision that other doctors would not even attempt to fix. I was told by all the doctors that my vision could not be fixed and I would have to just get used to wearing glasses, so I did. I found out about Dr. Wang on Facebook and decided to attend a seminar. I had my lasik procedure done the next day. He is a very down to earth man that takes very good care of his patients. I am amazed by my experience and am still overwhelmed. Without my contacts or glasses I was unable to see 3 feet in front of my face. The eye chart for me was a joke. The "BIG E" was just a big blur. I had my surgery yesterday and woke up this morning with 20/25 and 20/30 vision and it's only getting better! Tears of pure joy ran down my face as i opened my eyes and saw my husbands face for the first time in the morning light. I no longer have the constant worry of an emergency happening and I am unable to find my glasses. I no longer have the fear that a contact might fall out and having to always carry extras, along with drops and solution. The staff was wonderful, caring, and so very patient. They talked me thru every step of the process, calmed all my fears, and treated me as a friend. Dr. Wang was there every step of the way! Exceptional experience at Dr Wang's vision! He has a very experience staff that made me feel very at ease with my upcoming surgery. For those of you who are interested in the details and credentials like I am, there is plenty of paperwork at your disposal to not only give you a walk through the surgery (which they also tell you in person) but also Dr Wang's expertise. Its a uneasy feeling having someone work on your eyes, but rest assured that you are in very good hands with Dr Wang. The next day I work up with exceptional vision and minor itching (to be expected in the healing process) and I could not be happier. I took a stroll downtown like it was a new experience (and without the weight of some thing on my nose). 5+ stars, highly recommended!

Thank you Dr. Ming Wang, You worked a miracle for my daughter-in-law, Rachael Granstaff, from Lebanon, she came to my house and her eyes were so sore from the hard contacts, she was wearing, her eyes were tearing, swelled and blood shot, and was told there was not anything else that could help her. My husband, Brad, had an amazing experience with Dr. Wang. Brad has worn glasses since he was 18 months old. He wore a patch for 2 years due to a lazy eye and had a pretty bad astigmatism. Most eye doctors wouldn't even consider doing surgery on his severe farsightedness. Because of this, we knew that we'd have to seek out the best doctor and that was Dr. Ming Wang. From the time we walked in the door, we were made to feel welcome and at ease. All of the employees were helpful and genuinely seemed happy to be working there. You would catch glimpses of them dancing in the hallways and laughing and joking with one another. Also, none of them wore glasses because Dr. Wang had performed all of their surgeries. What better advertisement than to have all of your employees to have a personal testimony of their experience? Brad's surgery went very smoothly and he was amazed at how he could see things that he never could before without his glasses. Dr. Wang met with him personally before the procedure to answer any questions and did the procedure himself. He even prayed for Brad before beginning the surgery. He also personally called Brad at 9:15 last night to check on him. What surgeon does that? Dr. Wang does all of his own post op appointments as well, on Saturdays! To say we were impressed would be a vast understatement. We highly recommend The Wang Vision Institute to anyone who is in need of LASIK or cataract surgery. It was an amazing experience!

I've been wearing corrective lenses (both glasses and contacts) for over 32 years and have been told by numerous eye doctors that I was not a candidate for LASIK. I was one of those people who couldn’t see two inches in front of my face because my vision was so bad. After moving to Nashville, my local eye doctor (Dr. Norris in the Gulch) referred me to Dr. Wang at Wang Vision. I was both skeptical and nervous going in but as soon as I met the staff, they put me at ease. They explained every step of the evaluation process and were genuinely lovely people. When I met with Dr. Wang and he informed me that I was a candidate, I was elated! I had the surgery the same day - it was so easy and quick that I was amazed. When I woke up the next morning, I thought "Oh no, I slept in my contacts"; then I remembered - NO CONTACTS! I could see. It was a true gift to be able to look around my bedroom and SEE.
