I hate going to the doctor...i have been avoiding my physical for a long time. Amy Nelson and her nurse Lori were amazing! They talked me through it all, and are actually helping me try to get to the bottom of some problems i have been experiencing!

Wonderful experience as always. Amy Nelson and her nurse Lori are absolutely amazing. It is rare to find such a compassionate provider/ nurse anymore. I have noticed most providers are more worried about the number of patients they see in a day and getting in and out the door as fast as possible. Amy takes the time to talk to you, and actually listens. I never leave without feeling I had the best care. Her nurse and her are truly a great team!!.

I saw Dr. Sholes. I thought a little dishonest and strange place. Some things left out inaccuracies on medical record. Refusal to correct everything or admit I brought another doctors order to appointment was one of the main reasons I came to appointment was never addressed. Sortof ignored the other doctors order and never acknowledged it on any of the medical notes.

I wish I could give this clinic a negative amount of stars. The ladies who work in the front are rude, they are always short staffed and extremely pushy. I do not feel comfortable here. This is the worst clinic I have ever been to.

I think we have great doctors and nurses who are veer good at what they do. Yep...lots of humans working there and sometimes things happen. Working with the public is one of the hardest jobs there is...I think they do a great job. They're dealing with people who don't feel good for the most part so sometimes they may appear crabby...just give them a smile and be nice...it will change your experience!

Needed penicillan dr evans so dumb thought allergies going to new doctor incompetant doctor go get claritan d that meth heads take is all she said if my husband had allergies he would of bought something over the counter bad doctor forgot to take piece of earplug out of ear that she spotted stupid dumb doctor if even THATthey will not get my money go overthe counter for it

Wouldn't recommend it, going back to my old family care doctor. Wouldn't update a letter I have on my medical history file. Hardly ever see the primary here, get shuffled around between other doctors. I had to wait once for 35min to get seen, came in late 15 min for an appointment I didn't hear the end of it. Primary doctor here not supportive of children with mental health issues, and the nurse made a comment about going down to Social Services if I didn't like it.

Usually I get helpful and welcoming service but I had the most uncomfortable phone call of my life when I called to set up an appointment today. I called to set up a date to talk to my doctor about new anxiety medication (which I mentioned to the woman on the phone). She asked for my birthday three times. There was laughter in the background and I could tell that she was also laughing. She was pretty rude to me when she asked me about my birth date the third time, acting like I hadn't told her twice before. The whole call was very unprofessional and made me incredibly uncomfortable. Sorry 'bout it.

Let me start off by saying that I had a wonderful experience at Avera in Brookings, but the front desk staff at the clinic need attention. I was sent over by the hospital to have a mammo done following a procedure. The gal who helped me doesn't even look up from her computer and goes "...no. you'll have to come back at 4pm." I said that doesn't sound right, because the hospital just told me to stop by 5 minutes ago. She just sighed, says "...k", and clicked around on the computer for about a minute while another employee sat back in her chair and stared at me, open-mouthed. A third employee finally pipes up and goes "What are you here for again?" I repeated myself. "Oh. Yeah. We can get you in now" and prints off my paperwork while the one employee keeps staring at me and the other one at her computer. It may not sound like a major deal, but I felt pretty uncomfortable/frustrated right from the start. That being said, every other doctor and staff member I've interacted with at Avera has been fantastic, and I've always left their office feeling reassured and confident in their quality of care.

I would recommend the PT department to whoever needs it. They do a good job with focusing on the problem and helping you get back to do things you like!!!
