My family has just recently moved to Columbia from Atlanta. Since moving here, I tried several times to make an appointment at another pediatric facility, and was met with unanswered questions, and difficulty just making an appointment for my son. However, that was not the case here at southern med. I called to make an appointment, spoke with their front desk associate, explained to her what was going on with my son, and got an appointment THE SAME DAY! I was so elated. When I arrived, the facility was spotless, I was given pain free paperwork(not 5-6 sheets of redundant information), and before I could even sit down, my son was called back to do vitals. Dr. Pittard was extremely nice. Awesome bedside manner with my son. As a person who has worked in the medical field for several years as a clinical coordinator, I must say the amount of proficiency and professional is a huge comforting relief.

Amazing Dr office. I was totally pleased from the moment I called to find my children a new dr after we relocated. And once I had to take my son to see the dr which was Dr. Pittard I fell in love. When we walked through the door I felt the love of Jesus. The staff displayed God’s love from the beginning to the end. Felt so good after I left. I recommend this office. Dr Pittard it's a amazing human being definitely have a call on this field I had take my daughter with asthma to many specialist and he heard my daughter breathing and knew exactly what to prescribe her even my daughter saw the difference the next morning he is very smart he pays a lot of attention to your children needs. I am very thankful I found this place also when he talks to the parents he explains things in a way that even the children understand and feel part of the visit. Iam telling you if you are tired of all this plain book doctor's you need to give Dr Pittard a chance you will be WOW!

Dr. Powers is so fantastic and takes time with the patient to make sure all your concerns are addressed. There is no feeling of being rushed like I’ve experienced with other doctors we’ve seen. SouthernMED is there for the patient. I can not say enough about this practice! They are to be commended for such great work and dedication!

Dr. Pittard is wonderful. We’ve been several times and he is kind, very knowledgeable, keeps up with research, and treats you respectfully, both parents and patients. I had some concerns about HPV vaccine, for my child, and he was very respectful in answering the questions without making me feel stupid. His staff is professional and helpful. They work you in as needed, and the wait time is never long. I had a snafu last year with insurance and his staff patiently worked through it with me and didn’t harass me about the bill, which insurance eventually, finally paid. He doesn’t push meds that are the latest trends, but rather works with what is best for your child and mindful of the limitations of what insurance will cover.

Just moved to Columbia and picked this doctor’s office for my daughter based on the reviews. Visited today for my daughter’s one year shots and I was beyond impressed! Everyone is really helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! We had a great experience with nurse Kayla and Dr. Pittard - and made the shot experience less stressful, would absolutely recommend them!
