My girls see Dr. Guyton, he is a great doctor and always takes good care of them. All the staff and doctors are so nice, wouldn't take my family anywhere else.

Friendly staff, Doctor Daleny is great with my kids. He also takes his time! Great place!

This place is the best! And all the doctors and staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been bringing our 6 and 1 year old boys here since they were born. I cant tell you how many times they were able to see our sick little guys on short notice and a booked schedule! We highly recommend using them!!

My son is 5 months old and I have been bringing him here since he was born. I will start off by saying that the only time my visits here went smoothly was when my LO got his vaccinations. I have had a mix of good and bad experiences at this peds office. The first two month check ups went fine. Then I started having a concern of my LO having thrush, so I brought him in. The doctor looked RIGHT AT IT in my babies mouth and said, "Alright, everything looks good...". I had to ask him again if he was sure he didn't see any discoloration or thrush in my babies mouth and then after looking a second time around said, "Oh yup, that's thrush.".... then he wrote a prescription for it. The next time my LO needed to go in for a visit, I was almost positive that he had an ear infection along with some ingrown toe nails. He had been pulling on his ears and was getting to a point where I thought he was going to pull his right ear off! His toes, which had been previously checked by Dr. Delaney who said that they were fine, were very swollen red and skin had been peeling off of them. I had brought him in as soon as I realized my LO was having these problems and Dr. Delaney dismissed them as being ok. Said toe nails would harden and that babies regularly pull on their ears.... Ok... fast forward a month or so later to the very first week of having him enrolled in day care. Baby is still pulling right ear, it bleeds from where he cuts it trying to scratch and pull on it, and now has developed a fever, runny nose, and bad cough. The day care even says they think he has an ear infection because of smell and his irritability. I take him back in and Dr. Delaney looks in his ear (which is red) and says, "Every thing looks fine. Use simple suction and saline solution for the nose and infants Tylenol to break fever." Seriously??? Didn't even wanna take a White Blood Count to even check for possible inner ear infection. He also dismissed his toenails being ingrown for the second time. Still very red, swollen, peeling. They did not look like his other toes that's for sure. Another week went by and my LO still had not gotten better. The nurse that had been following up with us for the entire week since our last visit told us to come in, that they were open and could see us in an hour and a half. I stopped working, went and picked up my child from grandmas in Gaston, then back over to Lake Murray to make the appointment. I missed it by 20 mins. They absolutely would NOT see me even though the waiting rooms were BOTH EMPTY and there were only TWO CARS IN THE PARKING LOT including mine!!! They said that they were sorry and could not see me until the next morning at 9am. I told them that I had to leave work, pick him up, drive, yada yada, and that the nurse there had told me to come in that my child really needed to be seen again. They did not care even though I explained that I wouldn't be able to bring him until I could get off of work again. The nurse came out and spoke with me and said that there was no way the doctor could see me because I was 5 minutes past their "policy" time. What upset me even more is that my child is crying and sneezing and snotting all over me and the ladies behind the counter kept telling me that it was "policy".... They made it seem like my child wasn't important enough to be seen because they had to uphold such a strict rule even though nobody was there but me. I couldn't even believe what I was hearing. This was by far the worst treatment I've seen from a doctors office in my entire life. I could understand if there were other patients there waiting to be seen, I would've understood and left... but for nobody to be there and still turn away a SELF PAY customer. I had cash ready to throw down for the visit. It would have been paid in full! Cash in your practice's pocket!! Normally I would not even care to take the time to write a google review but I felt that after MULTIPLE bad experiences at this office it was necessary, even after being recommended to come here by personal friends. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Amazing and caring docs! So thankful for them.

Both of my children have been coming here since birth. They love Dr. Guyton, but within the last 6-8 months the bad is starting to outweigh the good. Trying to get ahold of someone is near impossible and when you do they are somewhat rude and trying to rush you off of the phone. I really loved the sense of community they once had but something has changed.

The team at Lake Murray Pediatrics is exceptional. One of my fears about relocating to SC from VA was that I would not be able to find a pediatrician who would match the level of care that my children were receiving. Lake Murray Pediatrics not only matched the level of care, they'e exceed my expectations. I am beyond pleased with them.

Brian Pierce

The staff is amazing! All of them. We switched pediatricians a few times with our first child until we found Dr. Delaney. We will stay with him as long as we can because he truly cares about the health of our children.

I cannot day enough good things about SouthernMed Pediatrics. Our primary MD is Dr. Carter and she is absolutely wonderful. Not only is she a great doctor, but she also truly cares about her patients and will spend as much time as needed with you. We have seen numerous nurses, NPs, and other MDs at their office as well and haven’t had a bad experience yet. We LOVE SouthernMed!

Grace Bailey

We are completely satisfied with the excellent care that we have received from both Dr. Delaney and Dr. Guyton! We also have had outstanding experiences with the nurse practitioners we have seen! The office staff have been wonderful! The doctors and nurse practitioners have always patiently answered our questions and we have never felt rushed. Another reviewer mentioned the empty waiting room. I am very thankful that there is not a TV in it. Parents can bring their own books and toys for their children and use that time however best suits each. Finally, I am most appreciative to entrust the medical care of my children to those in this practice who are Christians, who live out their faith with integrity. My husband -- and kids would -- highly recommend this practice to any parent looking for an exceptional pediatrician!

We have 3 kids and we love this practice. Dr. Delaney and Dr. Guyton are awesome as well as their Nurse Practitoner Meredith. It's great to have someone who not only takes good care of their patients, but also gets to know your children and truly cares about your family.

great office cant say anything bad ubuy.me

Dr Delaney is the best!!! He truly cares for his patients and makes sure to keep your child healthy.

We LOVE our family at Southern Med in Lexington/Lake Murray. We have seen them now for 4 years and have always had a positive experience. The physicians, nurses and front desk team are very attentive, caring, patient and treat us as family. They work hard to make not-so-fun visits with shots, high fevers, vomiting or broken bones a little less stressful. They have "after hours" hours that make getting in a breeze for this working momma-- SUCH a blessing particularly during sick season. We are thankful to have Southern Med and their team in Lexington help us with our children's needs.

Richard Skotniski

This office has been providing exceptional care for my two kids the last four and a half years! From from staff, to Physicians, they are always looking out for the best interest of my little ones!

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I had the WORST medical experience with SouthernMed Pediatrics. Not only could I not get a decent appointment time and date for my son with this medical practice, they repeated failed to bill my insurance for services after I provided that information repeatedly - once was even by certified mail! To make matters worse, they refused to give me medical records due to the same bill - that they didn't file with the insurance. Not to mention I never got a direct appointment with the actual pediatrician, I could only see the nurse practitioner. Horrible, horrible medical practice. RUN, don't walk to any other provider you can find. They won't care about you or your child. They are a nightmare to deal with and I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and with my insurance company - they are a preferred provider that won't be preferred anymore if I have anything to say about. Patients have rights and should never be treated badly by providers that can't figure out simple insurance claims, provide a decent appointment time frame, or give you your medical records when know you deserve better then their mistreatment.

We recently moved to Lexington from Little River, South Carolina and brought our daughter in (two months late) for her year check-up. The office staff was top notch. They were friendly, inviting and very helpful. There was no wait time to get in to see the doctor. The first nurse we saw was as friendly as could be and I wish I could remember her name. She told my wife that the doctor would be in shortly. As my wife waited, the doctor stood outside her door, on a personal phone call while he talked to someone about the weather. Literally, about the weather. When he did come in, he seemed rushed even though there was very few people in the office. The follow-up nurse who gave the shots was not friendly and seemed irritated that we had waited two months past the expected time for her year check-up. Unfortunately the bad tarnishes even the good and made the experience one not worth repeating. I feel for the sake of my daughter's well being as well as our sanity, we will have to look for a new doctor. This is unfortunate as this pediatric doctors office had such great reviews. Again, it is unfortunate, but it is just not for us.

Jaime Wilson

We came to this practice because of all the great reviews. We have 5 children and our doctor recently retired, so we began coming here last year. I felt the office is set up for a small practice and it is not. There is nowhere to sit in the waiting rooms (which are showing some pretty bad wear) and the wait time is terrible. We once came and the check in line was out the front door. The medical staff is nice, however, I feel they really didn't take care of my children. They didn't seem thorough and as far as really looking at them during sick or well visits- they even missed a diagnosis which cause one of my children some terrible pain for over 2 months and stress for our family. The office staff was nice on the phone, but always seemed upset or overwhelmed in person. I never felt welcome here, nor a priority when it came to the care of my children. It was very disappointing and I'm glad that we are not patients there anymore.

Angelika Kuch

We waited 30 min. in the room for the doctor to come to see us. After 30 min., of waiting the doctor finally comes in for about 2 min and leaves...we were like really??? The office is nice but the parking lot was kind of full and they probably had only one doctor there at the time when we were there. I did not find the office staff helpful and professional. I would not recommend this office.

Susana Sharpley

Dr. Delaney and staff were amazing when my kiddo suffered a concussion and needed to go to the ER! Excellent practice!

Erika Watkins

W love Dr. D!! We have been with them for about 8 years after moving from another practice, best decision ever. Our kids love everyone here.

Cheyenne Knight

I have 7 month twins and when we were looking for a pediatrician's office before our little ones arrived I knew exactly who I wanted to use. I have had several friends that have little ones who go here and they loved it! You couldn't ask for a better pediatrician than Dr. Delaney. He is caring and listens to you very attentively. He doesn't rush in and out. The staff is awesome also. Everyone is going to make a mistake or run late at some point. That's human. They are there for the health of your child not for your patience. I have never had to wait longer than 10 min. And wouldn't mind if I had to.

My son, was 8 years old when we moved here to South Carolina. Being an ADHD child, he was not happy with the change. Finding a Dr was turning into quite a challenge. Finally, we got into Lake Murray Pediatrics to see Dr Kyle Guyton.....from the first moment, Christian loved Dr Guyton. He is now 13 and I have already talked to him about having to change Dr's when he reaches a certain age...his reply, Dr Guyton is just gonna have to be a grown up Dr. The entire staff is so wonderful and always smiling. Quick to return a phone call. If you are looking for a great Pediatrician, you found it here at Lake Murray Pediatrics.

Our daughter sees Dr. Delaney and absolutely loves him. He always takes his time to listen to the parents' concerns and evaluate your child. She has also seen Dr. Guyton and we couldn't have been more pleased. Both doctors are very compassionate and willing to get your child feeling better. The office staff is also very friendly and I love how quickly they book an appointment for your child when they are sick. I highly recommend this practice and these well-informed doctors!

Love Doctor Guyton great with my little one

I have brought my daughter who is now ready for Kindergarten to former Lake Murray Pediatrics, now known as Southern Med. My daughter became a patient here at about 8 months old. I have been very pleased with their service and unbiased diagnosis. Anytime I ask a question, have concern or need some help with my daughter. They are always happy to help and quick to respond. I also have a son who is 7months old and neither of my children are afraid of their kind staff. The wait time is always a breeze ( unless I am late, which is then on me) they are always quick to do their best to "squeeze me in" in short notice.

My Crazy Life

We have been taking our kids to this office for over 5 years now. We were worried about finding a good pediatrician after moving from Florida, but we are so thankful that we found SouthernMED Pediatrics-Lake Murray. Everyone in the office is amazing, and both doctors are wonderful. You never feel rushed, and they always make sure your questions are answered. We never wait very long, and appointments are easy to get. We love this office.

Fotkorr

Great staff and doctors! -1 star for the wait time. We've never been called on time even when the office is empty, also very long wait once you're in the room between nurse - doctor - nurse.

We have been going to Dr. Guyton since they opened when my youngest was less than a year old. Now, almost 6 years later, I don't know what I would do without this dr and staff. Kathleen is nothing less than a God-send to the nursing profession. I love that Dr. Guyton talks with me as a parent and allows me to be as holistic as I want to be, yet makes it known when I definitely need to use standard medicine.

Jenna Peters

Love them. Dr. Delaney always takes his time to explain things and help you understand what to watch for and what is best recommended for your child. The staff is very caring and welcoming and I could not be more pleased with this office

I have been taking my kiddos to LMP for 6 years and we love it! Both Drs are friendly and always take their time to answer any questions or address any concerns we have. Dr Delaney and Dr Guyton are both actively involved in the local community, and they are both wonderful people on the clock and off! The nurses and staff at LMP have always been great to us as well, always trying to work with us as much as possible for last minute sick appointments. My only complaint would be that it sometimes takes a while to be seen, but even with that I still wouldn't find another pediatric office!

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY ON AMBER, their new nurse practitioner. Do not go to her. My daughter was very sick with the flu that hit her in the middle of the night so I called early for an appt the next day knowing that she could get tamiflu since we were in the 24hr window, and yes my sisters are a nurse and another worked up to CEO of a hospital and they know. My doctor, who is Dr. Guyton, whom I love as a doctor, was out that day and they only had an appointment with Amber, their nurse practitioner late that day. We get there on time and have to wait 27mins to be seen when the sign on the wall says you will be seen in 15 mins. We then got called back by a grumpy nurse who was rude. I unfortunately did not catch her name. Wish I had bc this review would be about her too. After another 30 min wait in the room, it’s now after when they are supposed to be closed, which is awful that plays into how you are treated. After she tells me that honey is the best remedy for my daughters awful cough that is keeping her up and after my daughter tested positive for the flu virus, I mention Tamiflu and she states it doesn’t cure anything but only helps with symptoms, and states she will send in a prescription bc she needs to start it within the 48 hours of symptoms starting. I then asked for a prescription cough syrup bc her cough is so bad it keeps her up all nite and makes her throw up and she is already throwing up with the flu. Love when I have to ask for prescriptions that should be offered. She is so sick. After waiting 2 hours for the prescriptions to show up at the pharmacy, I call them and the pharmacy states they never received the prescriptions. I am livid bc it is Friday and they are closed over the weekend. Now I’m waiting for a call back from the on call doc in hopes my sweet baby girl can get the relief she so badly needs. I am so incredibly disappointed of how we were treated only bc it was a Friday and they obviously did not want to do their jobs. I am so so upset with a place I once really loved. Dr. Guyton please come back full time and please get rid of Amber. This place used to be such a great place but this last visit was absolutely awful.

Karen Longstreet

Have been going here for over 10 years . I have seen the practice grow and they are FANTASTIC!! ALWAYS make time for us and always listen to parent concerns as well as all of my children concerns.

I AmAwesome

We loved the new parent orientation they host every so often at their office for expecting parents. I think that's a great way to get to know the parents and for the parents to get to know some of the staff. We felt very welcomed right off the bat, and we greatly appreciated that. Dr. Guyton is wonderful and always answers every question we have. My daughter has not seen Dr. Delaney yet, so I can't write about him. They are very flexible and will do whatever they can to get you in as soon as possible, which we appreciate also. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

In my 21 years as a parent Dr. Delaney is by a mile the best pediatrician I've ever had. I am so glad I was recommended, the whole office and staff are amazing and kind.

Valeri Wilson

We absolutely LOVE Lake Murray Peds!! With 3 little ones under 4 years old, I can't count the times I have called in a panic about one of them being sick or acting funny, and the response is almost always, "can you be here in an hour?" Dr. Guyton is down to earth and the kids love him and talk about him at home! Dr. Delaney and the entire staff is wonderful as well! Can't say enough about this fantastic practice!

We have been with the practice for over 2 years now and could not be happier with the service. We also had some insurance issues at the beginning, but it turned out to be on the insurance provider and not the practice. I also work in the medical field and receive several referrals from this practice in a professional capacity. It was through the professional relationship and the feedback from the shared patient's families that caused me to choose this practice. Having moved from out of state, I feel we were very fortunate to have found such a great pediatrician.

Diane Huffines

We saw Dr. Delaney and thought he was wonderful. He's very caring and thorough. My problem is with his staff and office practices. They are rude and uncaring. When my son was having severe complications from the flu (which he ended up being hospitalized for) it took them two hours to call me back, by which point I had called a different dr. I had to wait for over 30 minutes in the *empty* waiting room for a scheduled well visit; if it's scheduled and you're running behind, either call the patient to let them know or walk out to the waiting room to tell them what's up. Don't let them sit there for over 30 min wondering what's happening (not including wait time in the exam room). *By empty I mean devoid of anything entertaining for my children to see or read or play with. I got it that toys are kinda a no no for a Drs office but a fish tank or Tv would be nice, especially when you're gonna make children wait.

I took my children to this practice based upon the great reviews. We had to change to another doctor's group, however, due to multiple misdiagnoses. We also had difficult times getting appointments as well as several billing issues which had to be corrected. As a result, I would not recommend this practice for a new prospect.
