I just recently moved to South Carolina and unfortunately noticed decreased extremity function after a laceration repair that was treated out of state. Dr. Kestner saw me nearly immediately and promptly scheduled surgery to repair my tendon. He couldn’t have been more caring or professional. Later, at a FU visit, I expressed my need for a steroid injection, as I’m in need of a future knee replacement and shared that I also had noticed a problem with my hand. Dr. Kestner took the time to refer me to his colleagues who had expertise in these areas. His practice partner, Dr. Hambright was able to see me immediately- and he too excelled in developing a treatment plan. And I will be seen in the very near future for my hand issue. I have complete confidence that I will always receive state of the art evaluation and treatment, by professional, competent, and caring physicians in this practice. Regarding other reviews posted on this site. Yes the practice is big and busy. So far, my experience has been interacting with a “well oiled machine”. From the staff members who have checked me in, to the clinical assistants, to the physicians, x-ray techs, surgical scheduler, to the check-out staff - absolutely EVERYONE, has been courteous, professional, and informative in their roles. And, I have heard the office staff addressing the waiting room to keep patients informed regarding delays in being seen. I truly understand the value of one’s time as a patient However, if I’m not crunched on my schedule, typically, I try to keep myself focused on the fact that when my time does come, I too will have the undivided attention of my doctor! And lastly, several people have criticized the office manager. I have not met this person; however, I see that he/she takes time out of their busy day to answer patient reviews, and to offer personal contact for resolution. Please note that being an office manager of a busy practice is quite challenging ~ it calls for frequently having to deal with staff issues, due to the human nature component intertwined in every aspect of operations. The practice managers are making sure that the staff has appropriate training and certification, that equipment is likewise calibrated and certified. And also true, that clinical services are appropriately billed and collected. If you run into a snag - life does happen and communication is the key to resolution. If the scheduling staff member is unable to give you an appointment due to an outstanding balance, then ask to speak with the office manager who should have the experience and knowledge to understand your situation, and then the authority to enact a mutually agreeable action plan. Writing a bad review that is stimulated by anger does little to nothing towards identifying the root cause of a problem and to ultimately initiating change that will hopefully improve the next patient’s experience. In sum, I’m not saying that this practice is flawless and not challenged by operational imperfections. I’m just trying to encourage a better outcome for those patients who have expressed their displeasure!

Dirty, cramped waiting room and extremely long wait times.Unhelpful staff that has no idea which insurance covers what...Paid for a brace that come to find out I didn't need and didn't help. Don't waste your time or money. Luckily I got a second opinion at musc and now I'm no longer in pain.

They make you wait for a long time and then dont answer the phone. How can you conduct business and have a phone line that no one answers ever. The nurse should not have to give you their personal number just to be able to contact the office.

I have been a patient since 2018 and have seen several docs here for different things. The doctors are wonderful at the office AND at the hospital. I will continue to put my life in their hands if need be in the future. The office is busy,.why? Because they excel and are noticed for their good workmanship. I had a knee replacement gone bad and after years of pain Dr Hambright replaced it. I will always thank him for his efficiency and caring. Especially since he did a bloodless surgery! I guve them all stars!!

The worst customer service ever. Great doctors are here and I totally trust them but if you’re looking for the entire package than this isn’t where you want to go. Your appointment can be at 145pm and you still won’t be seen until 3pm and none of the staff will attempt to communicate with you to let you know what’s going on. It’s just the worst service I’ve ever had with an appointment and it’s at EVERY APPOINTMENT not just one.

Dr. Kestner is my doctor and he is phoneminol. He is attentive, knowledgeable and explains your problem and gives you options and suggestions regarding your treatment. I had a ruptured tendon in the arch of my right foot. I tried his suggestions which helped but we know I eventually would need surgery.. Well my surgery turned out awesome. His work on my foot was amazing. I am excited and pleased of what I saw. I'm 6 weeks post surgery and doing great. Don't like the cast but it's necessary. I should be in a boot soon and have physcial therapy. I would refer Dr. Kestner any day. You can't get any better than him and I work with orthopedic doctors. If you have foot and ankle issues he is the type of doctor your looking for.You won't be disappointed. Lisa Saulet

After hearing many horror stories from family and friends that had knee replacement surgeries, I was extremely happy with the results of both of my surgeries. Dr. Dustin Hambright was very thorough and careful to make sure that each surgery was a "one and done." He and the staff at S.C. Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center along with therapy and hard work, made this whole experience more successful than I had ever expected.

I found Dr Devries after having a bad experience with a different provider and office in Charleston. I am an Operating Room nurse and always make sure I find the best surgeon. I have had successful surgery and visits with Dr Devries. It has been the best experience I have ever had with a medical provider and his office. The OT staff on site is incredible in helping me rehab and kind. I would make sure any family member or friend of mine used Dr Devries.

Had made an appt Thursdaythe26th for Monday the 30that 3pm. When I called they said they had a 1p,2, or 3p. I said I would take the3 they said we will see you then.I got There and was told they didn't have me sched I was mad I work and can only have certain days that I can be off the.the one time I did see them the mds where very nice this is certainly an office management issue

My son was given a referral to them because they are in network for Tricare. A few years ago he saw them under a different version of Tricare and retained a balance I was unaware of under the coverage of his dad. Long story short, he fractured his wrist and they refuse to see him unless the more than $300 is paid in full. As much as I wish I could pull it out of a stash somewhere, I cannot. My son is hurting and I guess so much for the "Do no harm" oath doctors take. Horrible!!!!

I've been to have knee injections (Hyalgan), it works great. Dr. Lansford performed on ACDF on my C4, in July 2016. I feel so much better with the implant. I don't see a problem going here at all. I've had nothing but good experiences. It is crowded sometimes, but my wait times have been short.

Wish I could give negative stars. Please fire this joke of a manager/customer service guy Dawson Cherry. I came here several times over the past year for a knee injury. They sent me to get a MRI. I did this. They never followed up. When I stopped by to ask to have the results translated to me since I don't speak medical jargon they informed me it would be $300 for that to be done. I lost my insurance as of last month and explained that to this so called "administrator" Dawson Cherry. He went on to degrade me in my time of need and injury and talk down to me and give me a "life lesson" that I should have followed up myself and have "self responsibility". How am I supposed to know how long the process takes? This isn't my profession. I said well no one called me from the office all this time when I had insurance. Like I planned to loose my job. I litterall only needed 5 lines of this "impression result" translated for me so I could know what is wrong with my knee. He refused and continued his condescending comments. So I left. They will never get mine or my famolfam business again. And when I start my new job next week and get back on insurance i wipl seek medical help from somewher else. All they care about is MONEY

This is a rating/review for SC Sports Medicine & Ortho. My first event was the repair/rebuild of my rotator cuff/bicep rebuild in May of 2016 (Dr. Dalton). The second event was a total hip replacement in Dec of 2017 (Dr. Hambright). Both surgeries were a complete success and allowed me to regain full/functional motion. In the case of the hip replacement, I was pain free after 5 years. Kudos to both doctors. I highly recommend this facility.

Dr Dalton has performed 2 different knee surgeries and I have had nothing but positive things to say about them. Dr Hood also is great. They always take their time with their patients and I have never felt rushed. My father-in-law also used another Dr in the practice and he had a great experience. My wife is now coming here for her messed up joints as well. All Dr offices have their issues, but over all this is a great place.
