Dr. Givens delivered my baby by a scheduled c-section. He did a really great job, very competent doctor, and I trust him. I was of course nervous just because it's surgery, but baby and I are well and healthy. Just went for my 6 week check up, and clean bill of health. He's very fast at the examinations. I'd recommend Dr. Givens to anyone.

Dr. Heinemenn is extremely friendly and good at her job. She gets things done quickly but makes sure that I'm comfortable and helps me to relax (I get nervous with any doctor). The staff is okay, mostly friendly, especially the nurses. The reception staff could be nicer. The building itself is pretty and comfortable and decorated well. I will definitely continue to go here until we move out of Charleston.

Dr Reeves has been my doctor since I learned I was pregnant with my son four years ago. He is very easy to be around and answers all my questions every single time I go. He performed my C-section with Dr Givens and did an amazing job- I had a smooth recovery. I am never nervous or feel like I walk out there with no answers. For my privacy this is not my real name. I had to get a colposcopy done and was with Dr. Hunter. The whole procedure was rushed, I had no clue what she was doing, and then left without informing me of aftercare, what to expect, what to not do, what to keep an eye out for. On top of that, as a patient who has experienced sexual assault and has that in my chart, I was left to having ptsd triggered and an attack in the parking lot. While I was on the table I was initially startled when Dr Hunter touched me. There was no forewarning. And before I had even recovered from the startle there was a speculum swiftly put into place. Normally, these things don’t hurt. But the speculum alone caused me severe pain. Which in turn means the rest of procedure was painful. I’m sure she’s got hundreds of other patients to see, but she needs to learn bedside manners. How to treat a patient like a human being, talk them through the entire procedure, and give them adequate aftercare instruction and give them a chance to ask questions. This was the most traumatizing doctor visit I’ve ever experienced! Once I get my results I am having them forward them to a new office.

This place is terrible they never answer the phone each time you call to make an appointment or change it. I'm an expectant mother trying to call my doctor about some paperwork I need signed and I get either put on hold or no one picks up the phone at all

They get two stars because the doctor was nice. However, my wife went there during a miscarriage, and they billed us incorrectly. As we worked with our insurance company to try to correct this they were nothing but helpful and sympathetic, however the staff here was terrible! Both ladies that we talked to on the phone accused us of trying to commit fraud as we were trying to correct the mistake that they had made in billing us. They were inflexible, uncaring, and refused to work with us. Finally our insurance company is getting this worked out no thanks to them. We will be looking somewhere else when pregnancy does work out for us.

Dr. Reeves is an extremely caring doctor. He ensures to answer any and all questions, listens attentively and takes in concerns you may have and addresses them accordingly. The front desk staff is polite and courteous as while the gals in back are a delight as well. Such a relief to go somewhere that has exceptional staff to patient care. I thanked them for having an office that was had a no judgement zone. The wait time is minimal but there is no rush to get in and out. For anyone seeking women’s care that involves having a doctor who will actually take care of your needs then this is the place!

Rude lab tech!! This place is great as far as the Dr.’s and nurses, but the lab tech (older, heavy set, Caucasian lady) is super rude. She was annoyed at the nurses one day before drawing my blood and transferred that anger in her work. She poked the heck out of me and left a bruise on my arm for a few days. That’s not a common problem for me after blood draws. Only other complaint is no parking.

I called to schedule an appointment, give my insurance information and was told I’m in network and will have a $66 deductible ok no big deal. I show up to my appointment am old it’s rescheduled to a later time and it will be $137 because I’m not in network. I come back to my rescheduled appointment and I’m told it’s now $146. Also I waited over a half an hour to be seen. Needless to say I’ll be finding a new doctor.

Disappointed With My Last Visit. Unfortunately, my doctor didn't really seemed interested in my problem, she was in a rush because they were already behind schedule, not my problem. Ended up going to the ER instead where they took better care of me. I called the doctor a few days later for results and they claimed it wasn't an issue with me, but I knew it was impossible, ER said it was & I knew it was as well. Probably won't be back.

I scheduled an appointment with this place because they had given me a good referral about them. That being said, I went ahead and scheduled an appointment and the lady who scheduled the appointment for me incorrectly scheduled my appointment for that same day at 8AM when I had called to schedule my appointment around 11AM that same day. Later in the afternoon they call me to tell me that I had missed my appointment at 8am. How do I miss my 8 am app. when I called in at 11AM? She went ahead and re-scheduled me for the following Tuesday to be seen at 7:30AM. A day later I get a notification saying my app. was canceled with Dr. Hunter and to re-schedule, but then I get another text and 7 calls telling me to confirm my app.??? So at this point I'm confused, I call to see what's going on, if I'm still to show up to my app. or was it cancelled. The women was answers clearly tells me that I am still to show up to my app. I then asked that why had I received a text saying it was cancelled in the first place? Then she checks with the nurse only to tell me that never mind, it did need to be re-scheduled and asked to re-schedule it again. You would think for all the reviews this place has it would be a bit more professional and have communication within their offices. I went ahead and scheduled my appointment with MUSC without any complications.

It's never fun to go for an exam, but Dr. Reeves was very gentle during the exam and answered all of my concerns/ questions. The staff was friendly and getting an appointment was easy. The only con, was the parking is very limited, if you are patient and wait for spots open and you can park off the road. I saw several people park along the rd.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I went for an appointment as a new patient for pelvic pain. I suspected it was endometriosis, an ovarian cysts, or something worse, and that I need to do a pelvic ultrasound to see what it is. My first appointment was rushed. Dr. Hunter did a Pap smear and prescribed me birth control (pill method) to help with the pain & told me to start taking the birth control after my next cycle. So what about the pain I’m in now????? They had me schedule an appointment for 2 weeks later from the first day I was seen. I was in pain for 2 MORE WEEKS! I drove all the way back down to Summerville from Conway because I go to school up there. When I get to the office, I go to check in and then I’m told that I have to reschedule the appointment 2 weeks from today because the ultrasound tech wasn’t there. SERIOUSLY?!?! I missed class & drove here for no reason. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could still be seen to get my Pap smear results and she told me no and that they would have to do the ultrasound in order to follow up with the Pap smear results which made absolutely NO SENSE. It already took a long time for me to get the first appointment and i don’t want to wait any long. It has been over a month and I need to know what is going on with my body. I 100% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE! If you like to wait a month or longer for things to be done this is the place. They will not take your medical needs seriously. I don’t care about the quota they have to meet either. Things like this cannot be rushed. I will be looking for a new GYN and I will never return here.

I'm very disappointed with the lack of empathy and compassion they have for their patients. I gave them a second chance which I'm beginning to regret. With my first pregnancy they refused to see me when I started cramping and bleeding at 8.5 weeks because I wasn't a patient yet. This was because their new system messed up my initial 8 week appt and I was forced to push it back later. Since they wouldn't see me I had to waste healthcare money and time to be seen at the ER. Only after the ER visit and the ER doc saying I had to get my levels rechecked in 3 days would they see me. Dr. Givens did my D&C and was very reasonable and respectable, so I thought. He said he would see my sooner with my next pregnancy to help ease the anxiety I would be experiencing. Fast forward to now, I'm pregnant again and they still won't schedule my initial appt until 8 weeks. Apparently "see me sooner" meant I could come in to discuss pregnancy after a m/c. No early blood work or ultrasound. How is that suppose to ease my anxiety? I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Dr swartzburg was my dr and was BEYOND what i expected to recive for care . found out later along i was pregnant and had to wait for insurance and they rushed my appointment..loved the nurses there never got any bad ones.i love the fact they have bloodwork and ultrasounds in house so no need to go anywere else ...i was high-risk and dr s was great with me ..she was a doctor but also LIKE A FRIEND. And i really liked that i never ever felt uncomfortable AT ALL even knowing i was high risk i felt assured my daughter was in good hands ...the refered me to musc(where i delievered ) and they all had there ducks in a row ...i have read some bad reviews on here and felt i needed to set the record straight..for her at least.. The only down side was that when ever i called i ALWAYS waited before even speaking to someone ..there were a few times it was into the 10s 15s of minutes with out even talking ..and this was like 10 am oh and the second down side is there friday hours they close at noon...i guess im not used to that as were from the north and everything is open 7 days a week ..anyway dr swartzburg would get 10

Doctor Heinneman is a wonderful doctor. She is very friendly and does a great job making her patients feel comfortable. However, there is always a significant wait past the set appointment time before actually seeing the doctor. I understand that sometimes appointments run behind, but I feel that it is important to try to stick to the appointment times a little more closely. My appointment this time was set at 3pm. I was 15 minutes early, and still didn't see the doctor until after 4pm for a 5 minute exam. I feel that this could be improved upon and if my experience wasn't consistently like this, I would give a higher rating. Thank you.

Constantly on hold on the phone, also I was charged on my first INITIAL visit for asking questions, $50 over my insurance coverage on top of my co pay. Furious, I have never been charged, especially on a first encounter basis for talking to my doctor. They also did not send my prescription to my pharmacy, will not be returning.

This was my first time ever going to the OBGYN and no one tried to make me feel comfortable. I explained to Dr. Hunter that I was passing out on my periods and then she literally said “so why are you here?”. She had no suggestions/explanations for why I would be passing out. I felt like I wasn’t listened to or cared for.

Would not recommend. It took forever to get an appointment and they kept claiming they didn't have my medical records, further delaying appointments and the ladies who take scheduling calls leave you on hold for 10+ minutes and then act like you're stupid when you do get to talk to them. While I like my OB, the overall office atmosphere is very frustrating. I often feel rushed around just to sit and wait for them to be behind schedule. Questions don't get answered until I'm at an appointment, IF the OB is in and not rushing to the next person... You're NOT allowed to make appointments with any other OBs, which is not convenient if you have a job or need to move your schedule around - it also makes no sense not to get you comfortable with the other OBs seeing as there's a slim chance the person you see will actually be the one to deliver. They have also been very slack on getting the referrals and prescriptions ordered that they say they will, and don't return calls well. They also have no after hours nurse line for questions or help. They're all about your money, not your wellbeing or baby.

Worst experience I’ve had with a OB office. I saw Dr hunter and my experience with her was okay. Not very informative. I feel like I went with questions and pretty much made my own decisions with little to no direction than what I already had. She was friendly and professional. The office staff however shafted me. I went for a new patient consult to change my birth control, while relocating closer back to home from college. When I checked in, they asked for $140 up front. I simply asked the lady if she could tell me why it was so much because I’ve never had more than a co pay with my insurance. She didn’t reply at first and then rudely relied with “you haven’t met your deductible but this is going towards it, you’re a new patient.” I’m thinking it’s december why do I care about my deductible at this point?? I went with it and after I left, I called my insurance company. They three wayed me in and let me hear the convo. They coded my visit for a problem visit. Which was not appropriate. My insurance covers birth control and any type of family planning appointment 100%. The office lady on the phone could not come up with a reason as to why I had been charged or coded for this. Needless to say a refund is in my future. Just because I’m young, doesn’t mean I’m stupid. Really, do better....

Since the days of the awesome midwives LCWS has had as well as the awesome Dr. Reeves, Ive been a happy patient with 3 successful healthy babies delivered. (Over 15 years give or take). HOWEVER, with this current and advance maternal age 4th pregnancy, I was very disappointed!!! Disappointed with the services given by Dr. Hunter as well as with the unwelcoming/unfriendly front window staff in the Summerville office. This being my first and only time seeing another Dr (other than Reeves) with LCWS it saddens me to have experienced this. In the 5 months under Dr Hunters care with a high risk status, she never seemed to know what was going on. It was like having an initial first visit.....every visit!!! She would order tests and make referrals and attempt to order same tests and referrals EACH visit and never able to find or give me the results. As if she had no clue who I was and had never seen me. Very little bedside manners and Only hearing my babies heartbeat at my request, as she assumed someone else did it. There was little to No communication with the other 3 specialists (that SHE referred me to) to help manage my care. It was very stressful and frightening! Thankfully, my Gastroenterologist I was referred to stepped up and took over management of my care! Yes!... a liver doctor realized that measures had to taken to ensure me and my babys safety. And I was referred outside to a very critically attentive and involved OBGYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine Dr., and Endocrinologist that all communicate very well. Despite my experience, im sure Hunter is a good doctor. Just not good for me.

Dr. Heinemann was very friendly and knowledgeable, and really seemed to care. I would highly recommend her. Her nurse, was also very friendly and welcoming and even funny. The lady at checkout seemed to be unfriendly and irritated. Maybe she was just having an off day but is was definitely an awkward social interaction. Overall, I am happy to have LowCountry Women's Specialists for all my OBGYN needs.

Dr . Ward was my obgyn and she is so kind, knowledgeable and great doctor. I really liked this doctors office prior to finding out I was pregnant. Once I found out I was pregnant and called to make an appointment, they said earliest they could get me in was 2 and a half weeks later. Seemed a little crazy to me because I'm use to doctors in IL getting you in within 48 hours. But we said ok and schedule first appointment. Have been counting down the days, so excited and my hubsand requested off work. Day before the appointment they leave me a voicemail canceling saying doctor won't be in. So I called them back and reschedule, have to wait another 2 weeks. I thought it was strange I didn't receive an email this time with my appointment info so called last week to double check time and date. I was told Thursday at 8 am and that if I hadn't gotten an email it would be coming in this week. My husband took off work again. Well I still never received an email so I call again yesterday only to be told "oh they told you the wrong day, your appointment was today" now you'll wait another 2 weeks. The lady on the phone didn't care at all. My husband also called there and no one even called him back. Very frustrating. I am going to be completely through my first trimester before ever seeing a doctor because I have been waiting 5 weeks. So after yesterday we switched doctors and hospitals.

I love the staff at LCW. My Doctor, Dr. Hunter, has all of the qualities that are so hard to find in a great OB. She takes the time to get to know who I am, what is going on with my body, and investigates anything that might be a cause for concern. Many others Doctor's tend to assume and rush you in and out. Very impressed with the professionalism, and genuine quality of care here. I had a beautiful pregnancy experience under the care of Dr. Hunter and her amazing Nurse Joanie! Highly recommended and will be a patient for life!
