REVIEWS OF Doctors Care - Surfside IN South Carolina

Ruth McDonough

I had an outstanding experience with the doctors, nurses, staff and facilities at Doctors Care in Surfside Beach. This was a tremondous relief because I was in a lot of pain when I first arrived. I highly recommend Doctors Care in Surfside Beach!

Tara Rowland

I brought our 2 year old here 2 days into vacation, and we saw Dr. Eaton. The wait was minimal, more just the time it took me to fill out our paperwork. I was extremely pleased with our doctor, he was thorough and kind, and our daughter is on the mend!

Gregg Hilton

While visiting in the area, I needed healthcare and went to the Surfside DC. Never have I been so pleased with the staff at such a facility. I was greeted with a pleasant, friendly staff that was as efficient as they were friendly. From the receptionist to the PA that treated me, I could not be more pleased. A day later I am feeling much better thanks to them and have good memories to boot! I was one of three Williams that showed up in the first few minutes which had them joking about making sure to treat each for the right ailment! They did and I thank them!

HAP PENDLETON

Very disorganized waited for ever!!!!..never ever will return. If I ran my company this way I would not be in business long!! Been here 2 hours. ..still have not seen a doctor!

Angie Brown

The physicians are great and the nurses!! Director of Health Sciences

Joanie

Every time I have been treated at Doctors Care it's been a positive experience. Staff and doctors are great even when crazy busy. Last visit was for a badly sprained ankle. I will definitely go to them again when I need to be seen for something.

Amy Calandro

Less then 24 hours on vacation a shell shattered in the bottom of my foot. instead of going to the hospital I decided to go to doctors care. the wait wasn’t too bad and the doctors was amazing. she was very through and made sure all the shell was out of foot so i could avoid an infection. would definitely recommend this to another person

This is a place I have been coming to now for quite some time and the last time I went which was about 5 days ago, I was highly disappointed. I saw lots of new faces in there and on top of that the lady at the front counter was very very rude. I usually pay about 65 bucks to be seen there I have no insurance. Well this time it cost me 89 dollars so I asked about it like anyone would and the lady said it went up. I said ok so I go back to get seen and I am told we have to test you for the flu I said I cant afford any more money on top of the 89 i have paid already. The doctor....Gauthier is his name told me he doesnt know whats wrong with me until he checks for the flu....total bullcrap if you ask me....He isny a doctor then if he cant tell. So they do the flu test and come to find out when I go to get my papers from the front I have to pay an additional 55 dollars for flu test! WHAT THE HELL kind of place has this turned in to? I am not happy and will never return here ever again complete money hungry company I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. VERY POOR SERVICE

Aaron Pritchard

Don't go here unless it's your only option. We waited for over an hour with a sick child when they weren't busy at all. I'd hate to see how slow they are when its busy. Plus the place looks run down and dirty.

Barbara Pierce

Got sick while in Myrtle Beach, went there cause it was close. No wait and Doctor was nice. Got meds and felt better the next day

Debbie T

I've been seen here several times, the results have always been just what I needed. The staff is wonderful and caring, the doctors take time too make sure you get exactly what you need for a speedy recovery. No bad experiences here.

Abby Jordan

Would leave less than one star is possible. Waited over three hours. Horrible service, rude workers, an absolute joke. Never go here. It's horrible.

gwen strickland

Great service, knowledgable staff and campassionate group! So thankful to have a place like this!

David Koudys

Wonderful staff, took care of my injury in a very calm and professional manner.

Shauna Long

I absolutely always hate going here but today takes the cake .... sat there for an hour and a half with a one year old and three year old and when finally decide to call us to the front only to tell us they don't take our insurance..... When I asked why they couldn't tell us that an hour and a half ago they said that they were busy that's funny all I heard them talking about the whole time I was sitting in the lobby with what they did over the weekend.... what a joke. And poor customer service

Sue Hobson

Alway friendly and knowledgeable . Would recommend this office to friends and family. I have been going to them for several years now when i am sick on weekends . I love the fact that you can check in on line, and if u are contagious they give u a mask. They also check on you a few days later to see how you are doing...Do you know any doctors office that dose this?

Amy Poole

My daughter was seen yesterday. She is autistic and on top of not feeling her best we knew we needed help. Her brother was just given antibiotics right before we left for strep. So I figured she was next. Needless to say they were wonderful with her. We did online check in and waited no time at all. They were sp kind and understanding of her fears and reassured her greatly and things went quite smoothly. In and out in no time with antibiotics sent to our pharmacy. If we stay in the area again for sure we will stop there if we need another urgent care.

Alisa Hurkman

Barbara Miller

Recommend highly! Very impressed with a call back two days later to see if I was feeling better.

Keana Smalley

Had nasty chest infection, electrically sent prescription which pharmacy never received, billed to wong state for blue cross blue shield refused to refile. With experience in medical billing this is false. Will never go back. Called my insurance which called their billing. Billing resubmitted to insurance.

Michael Parks

Wow, this place has really gone downhill. Touchscreen check in so all the sick people are touching the same screen and using the same stylus. That's just stupid. Poor service / high prices.

John Dixon

Very prompt, Curtis, and professional people. Service the way doctors everywhere should be providing.

Rebecca Sullivan

Doctor's Care is a wonderful facility to visit when you're not feeling well. You never can get an appointment with your physician when you're sick and with Doctor's Care you walk in, get waited on by friendly pleasant staff people. I've always gotten cured of my illness when I've gone to Doctor's Care.

Jeremiah Phillips

My family and I were visiting Myrtle Beach for a basketball tournament. My son was hurt in the game and we ended up at Doctor's Care. The service there was exceptional! The doctor and nurses had the best bedside manor that I've seen in a long time. It was of our the best experiences, under the circumstances. We even received a courtesy call two days after, to make sure everything was ok. Keep doing what you do!

Chris Angulo

2/10/2015 I took my 10 yr old son into this location this morning for a spider bite on his foot. It was nothing too severe but he did require antibiotics. As the doctor is writing out the prescription, I told him to please call it into our pharmacy, Walmart. Unfortunately, once I got to Walmart, I was informed that they did not carry this particular medicine. So, I called Doctors Care back and asked them if they could either call it into a different pharmacy or call in a different prescription. The extremely rude woman I spoke to told me they were too busy to call it in and I should have known that Walmart did not carry the medicine! I was absolutely shocked to have been treated in such a disrespectful manner. Needless to say, she begrudgingly told me she would ask the doctor when she could. Five hours later, my son still does not have his medicine. I have been going to the Surfside location for at least 6 years and will never go back.

Lana Baldwin

No stars.!!! I visited this clinic and told Dr Vincent that I had a swollen, sore throat and lots of sinus pressure. I didn't feel terrible the day I went but didn't want to get others sick if I was contagious. She told me she didn't think I needed antibiotics and to take Zyrtec and Flonase for my sinuses. Today (2 days later) I called them at 8am because I have discolored mucus, headache, am tired and achey and definitely have a sinus infection. They told me they would call in medication for me at my pharmacy. I had not heard from them at 2pm so I called and again, they said they would call in medication. Here we are at 5pm on a Friday and I still have no medication. Again, I call and this time they say the Dr didn't write anything in her notes about my complaining of sinus problems. She only rememberd a sore throat. She didn't have patient chart or notes with her so clearly she didn't write anything down at the time. She has refused to call in medication and told me I'd have to come in again. I PAID HER 2 DAYS AGO BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL GOOD! If they weren't going to call in a prescription they should have told me that when I called so I could go to another Dr instead of waiting on them ALL DAY! Very unprofessional..and inconsiderate

SaltLifeChick

The nurse was very polite, the doctor was extremely thorough. You can go online and make an appointment and they will text you 30 minutes before you're ready, so you don't have to sit for hours with other sick people! EDIT: After receiving great care, I was still sick, I saw what I believe is the actual doctor, I told him I was dizzy, he told me I need to find a doctor of my own, we are urgent care, he told me he wasn't going to do any tests or anything, he spent probably 2 minutes with me. Had this been my first time, I would give a 1 for a rating, the doctor had an accent but all the medicines I was put on had the same Doctors name on it, so I guess the fist doctor was actually a nurse practisioner. There is no reason whatsoever to make someone feel bad when they are in there PAYING to find out why after 2 weeks, they are still sick! Shame on him! He told me to go elsewhere, so I will. I know for a fact they see all kinds of patients for all kinds of reasons, this was simply a RUDE man. Very upsetting

I went there in April for extended high fever, chills, and heavy cough. I was on vacation from PA and this was the closest place to me. I filled out extensive medical history paperwork stating I had asthma and was on an inhaler. When I went through triage, I also stated it to her. I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner and she was very rushed. Came in with a mask on even though my flu test came back negative. She would ask me questions and then before I could answers tell me to take deep breaths or open my mouth. After an X-ray she diagnosed me with pneumonia and when she was thinking about prescription, she was going to prescribe an inhaler. I told her I had one and she snapped back that I didn’t tell her that. I didn’t tell her much because she cut off every sentence I started. But I did tell her it was on my paperwork and I told them in triage and that I figured she knew that because it should be in my chart. She just said no one told her. I told them which pharmacy was closest to where I was staying and they ended up sending it to a different pharmacy. Oh and you would think that an asthmatic with pneumonia, they would at least check my oxygen level. But they didn’t. And when I got back I checked it and it was 90percent. I would never go here again. There is another urgent care not far from this one

Patty Wharton

Great place. I highly recommend this urgent care. They made a follow up call to see how I was doing.

Teena Burrows

Staff was great! PA was very efficient and took her time to tell me what was going on with me and what she was prescribing.

Rebecca

This is the worst experience at an urgent care I’ve ever had. I brought my 15mo little girl in for a rash that had gotten worse over the past two weeks. We’re on vacation from PA and I brought her to this urgent care immediately after getting off the plane. Whoever saw us (I’m not even sure it was a doctor), didn’t even take vital signs! I said my daughter had an ear infection - she never looked at her ears! No temperature, no heart rate, nothing!! Absolutely in violation of the standard of care in any area!!!! Don’t ever go there!!!

Portia Brandt

My experience at Doctor's Care was fabulous. I felt I was in the right hands immediately upon arrival and throughout the visit. I was impressed with the follow-up call and the attention to detail. I highly recommend Doctor's Care!!!!!!

Linda Bottaro

I had to bring my grand daughter who had a very sore throat and temperature. She got immediate and total care. The place is clean, professional and we had a very good experience. I highly recommend them!

Tsar Bomba

Claire Drew

Completely satisfied with this place! I loved the care I received from the lady at sign-in to the nurse and the doctor that treated me. Wait was minimal; quality of treatment was grand.

Shirley Lamb

My husband injured his back and I contacted this facility to see if they could help. I was told that as long as I was there before 8pm then we could start there before we went to the hospital if necessary. When we arrived I walked in to ask for a wheelchair to help him into the building. The receptionist went to the back to ask the physicians assistant and she threw her hands up into the air and said to go to the hospital (after they told me to bring him in) and they refused to see him. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever witnessed in my entire life. These doctors have forgotten about their oath and why they are there. When we got to the ER we were told that it definitely could have been taken care of at Doctors Care. Ridiculous behavior from a medical practitioner. I will also be contacting the state board concerning Ms. Strickland .

My husband and I came down with sever upper respiratory infection about two weeks ago. We went to our PCP and found that it was viral and that we had to ride it out. A week and half later after 3 days of diarrhea and 2 days of vomiting, we were worried that my husband was getting dehydrated, as his skin was getting papery. We tried to go to our usual doctor, to see if he was dehydrated and if he need to go to er to get fluids. He has suffered from dehydration when sick twice in past and ended up having seizures. We were directed to Doctors Care, as we were told they had the ability to give IV fluids. Of course when we checked in and went through triage at Doctors Care we told them each step of the way that we were there for IV fluids and that he had had seizures and had to be transported via ambulance to er in the past. After waiting over 1 1/2 hrs we finally saw the PA. After examining and determining that indeed he was dehydrated the PA came back and said the Dr in charge said that there was no one on staff that had the ability to administer IV fluids to a dehydrated patient! What???? Who else but someone suffering from dehydration would need IV fluids? They gave us option for ketone test and anti nausea medication and for my husband to go home and try to drink water to re hydrate. After sitting and pondering I confronted the PA that this made no sense and I would be reporting this publicly and to appropriate agencies. I stated I could not believe a place with a DR an 2 PA had no one that could administer IV fluids when they are supposed to be able to handle this procedure. She came back after speaking with the Dr again, and apologized that the Dr in charge stated that he did not feel it was safe for us to have procedure done there as they had no IV pump and the phlebotomist had just graduated recently and didn't have the experience! Funny the hospital didn't use an IV pump. Gravity worked just fine there! What a joke! I will be disputing the bill needless to say as we ended up sitting in the er waiting room for another 2 hours before he finally received IV Fluids. If you need medical care, this would be the last place I would go to get treatment!

kayla demetriades

When I called earlier, the lady said they take walk-ins anytime before 8 o’clock. I walk in the door at 7:54 and she tells me she needs my insurance address before she the doctor can see me, so when I get the address, she looks at me and says so you gonna come back in the morning!? We close at 8 and it’s 8 now and I was already there before they close and she says We were supposed to have been gone. No, first off you close at 8, you don’t leave anytime before, it’s urgent care not when you feel like it. The ladies in there were not helpful at all and were just more focused on getting me to leave. I apologized for coming in so late and she says okay so what’s wrong with you? Yes, because that’s the correct way to greet someone.

Angela Terry

Never go to this place. I paid self pay or assumed I was. They charged my credit card for $135, I now a week and half later get a bill for $528. They did not run it through insurance bc I was self paying! So now I have been on hold for 33 minutes trying to speak with their billing to get them to run my insurance. Horrible customer service and horrible staff to take money as self pay and then still bill.

Marlene Preston

Wonderful care from checking in online to check out. Doctor and staff are caring and helpful in getting me well again. I had a respiratory infection with allergies.

Rob Ayala

I went there just the other day for stitch removal and thought the service and care was absolutely outstanding. The nurse that removed my stitches was very kind and continually assured me that I would be okay when the stitches proved to be difficult to remove. The doctor was very laid back and also extremely friendly. I live in Pittsburgh, PA and would without a doubt love somewhere like this where I live.

Fahim Sidrak

John Omahoney

I called ahead to see how much the visit would cost since I didn't have insurance and I was happy to pay them when I received care. A week later I got a bill for another $100 in the mail. Very deceptive and I will see a new physician.

Robbie Weeks

Tammy Stutler

The receptionist was polite, the nurse practitioner acted like she didn't believe me. New to the area didn't know the nearest pharmacy that was open was told one went there and it wasn't open given another to find out the script was not even sent yet. Said they were sending it at that moment and when I arrived at pharmacy it had not been sent. I have used Doctors care in Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest and received excellent care and service which is why being new to surfside I automatically went there. I won't make that mistake again. I will either go back up North to a doctor's care or will choose another urgent care near surfside. Very disappointed.

Tiara Eunique

Receptionists were friendly, but the nurse no... She was rude not very welcoming

stephen vernon

Everyone was so nice. It was pleasant and fast. Thank You!

Cathy Olson

I love the check in online. Everyone is so nice and professional.

Joseph Kalce

3/28/18 @ 1:48 called 3 times and no answer on hold.

Forrest Baggarly

By far the worst place I have ever been. I sat for 45 mins and saw 3 to 5 others that came in after me be seen before me. When I asked they gave me no reason. That are vary rude and have no cares about the people they are “trying” to help. Once that get your insurance card it’s done.

KD Brown

Very satisfied. Excellent service.

Thomas Bernardi

Got to see a doctor in about 15 minutes. The doctor was thorough. They have both blood test equipment and x-ray on site. They followed up the office visit with a phone call. Perhaps it is only during tourist season, but they are open 8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday in August.

Kim Perl

Came when on line registration said and waited 40 plus minutes, last ones back. Screen kept showing us as next. Don't recommend!

Michelle locklear

In town from vacation. Our son got sick with croup he gets croup often. Most of the time the doctors will never prescribe him steroids if he gets this and we are out of town. But today we saw the PA here and he was awsome!!!! He prescribe the prednisone and was so very friendly. We used this websight and scheduled an appt and we were in and out in less than an hour. This place is great and everyone is so friendly and professional. Now we can enjoy the rest of our vacation and our son will be better by wensday. If we ever get sick and are down here again will use them for sure

amanda pickens

I loved everything was kept confidential and professional. The staff and the doctor were very amazing.

Katrina Beaumont

Worst service EVER wasted 2 hours for nothing African American lady up front was rude and definitely not professional and being a business owner myself I know that is not professional too treat your customers like her words like "you live in a trailor park" I'm definitely far from that but I also know very nice people that live in trailors money doesn't make you be nice or mean ..... I feel very mistreated to say the least I wouldn't send my worst enemy there! Go to another one.

M.J. Benz

On vacation for a week in Garden City... had to take 3 kids (separately) for strep throat. Staff was friendly, professional, all around great. Each of the visits to Doctors Care (DC) took less time (25-30 min) than the pharmacy took to fill the antibiotic 'scrip' (40-45 min). They even called after a few days to see how all the patients were doing. Illness could have ruined our vacation, but thanks to DC, it was just a bump in the road.

Leslie Cribb

Took my little girl here after an accident on the beach. The staff was amazing through it all and we had no wait. We came in with tears and left with a smile. Highly recommend.

Kaitlyn Venable

We were on vacation and had a sick baby, called to make sure they would see her, she was 1 day from being 6 months old they said yes they would see her to come on. Got there, paid copay and registered in the computer for them to call me back up saying they would not see her even though I called and said they would! Found another great urgent care in the area to take her who took her on back to find out she had a terrible ear infection. I would not recommend Doctors Care.

ashley Bonass

I love doctors care in surfside! All the staff is very pleasent. Everytime i come i believe her name is tamera? She has checked me in here and she is very pleasant and always has a smile on her face which is refreshing

Avery Burnsworth

Uncooperative.....we were vacationing from out of state. Called my insurance company’s head to make sure we were covered which confirmed ok to go there called agin while there to reconfirm. Doctor Care insisted that my BCBS insurance plan was an HMO (its an indemnity plan as confirmed by my ins. Co) It was a Total waste of time. We went right across the street to Primary Associates they were very friendly, patient and accommodating working with me, our BCBS and the local BCBS to take care of us. I get the impression Doctor Care would rather just deal in cash payments rather than work with people and their insurance. It is stressful to have a sick child on vacation and Doctor Care made the experience worse.

Gomez Iguana

My husband's asthma was flaring up. We just moved here so I decided to call the office. They verified that they accepted our NJ insurance and that I could get a text message when they had time for us. We only waited 15 minutes in the office. The doctor came in 10 minutes later after blood pressure, temperature, etc. He was excellent. I was very satisfied and would recommend Doctors Care to anyone. The doctor even gave me a few referrals for primary care doctors in the area. A++

Sue Hinman

Had to go to Doctors Care just before they closed last night. Doctor and the staff were professional, caring, knowledgeable and personable. I’m so glad we chose this Urgent Care. The doctor knew immediately what was wrong and, though it may not be easy, at least I know what’s wrong and what to expect. Thanks to both the doctor and staff for their kindness

Deanna Simon

Experience was fine but walked in and up to receptionist and she was hiding behind a massive computer monitor. Never looked at me. It was a voice talking to me. The weirdest thing ever lol

Carol Le

Check in staff was was very cooperative since I could see in only one eye. They got me back fast. Doc quickly saw it was shingles, and in the eye I need to go to ER so they could get me in a eye specialist

Sam Wiede

Awesome care from the PA Laurie and staff! Hopefully you will never need em but if you, do highly recommend! Thanks girls!

Haven Michelle

Nurse like didn't even swab my throat right to test me for strep and laughed at me when I said I didn't smoke or drink because of my age. Then tried to over charge me. Then said if they had known I wouldn't pay the over charge they wouldn't have even allowed me to see the doctor. Probably the worst I've been treated at any urgent care.

Adrianne Lamprinos

Took our child there late on a Sunday evening just before closing. We could've been happier with the service. They were friendly and efficient and made our child feel like a celebrity bu the time we left. No follow up care was needed and we could enjoy the rest of our vacation.

Teresa Barden

Everyone is so wonderful here. This is by far the Best Doctors Care I have ever been to. Would recommend to everyone

Skip Copley

Very professional and helpful

Janet Cooper

I was on vacation at Surfside Beach when I took a nasty fall and needed care for a possible broken wrist/hand and multiple abrasions. Being a nurse myself for over 27 years, I always tend to be a little critical when I visit a new facility for healthcare, so when I walked into Doctors Care, Surfside, I was skeptical as to the type of care I would receive. From the beginning, I was treated with warm concern and kindness-from the receptionist to the xray tech, to the doctor on site and the nurses on duty. Dr. Peter Chambers was MORE than awesome in treating me and prescribing care. He explained everything efficiently, and he showed me my fracture on my xray, further explaining the process, etc. Sherry and Becky were also terrific. Sherry took great care and time splinting my wrist and carefully cleaning my horrible abrasions. Sherry was personable and quite funny-making me laugh, and feel very much at ease. Thank you Surfside Doctors Care! Now when I am at the beach and need care, I will not hesitate to visit you! Bless you for all you do... Sincerely, Janet Cooper

Coaster Boy 325

One star isn't even deserved do to that we were not even seen. I went to the other line checkin and that was at 330 today. I received a text saying that our estimated apt time would be 438 and that we would be notified 30 minutes prior. Well needless to say it is now 634 and we still haven't heard from your office. Thank you for taking you time to care for those that need to be seen. I highly recommend market commons dr care. We came here and were treated so well and they have taken the time to care for my son. Will not return to the Surfside office.

Barbara Windham

Carol Myers

If you are at Myrtle Beach, SC and you are sick, GO to Dr. Care at Surfside Beach. Everyone is gracious, caring, and your wait is not too long. The Dr. was so precious and very efficient. All of the staff couldn't have been better. THEY do care. Thanks to all of you for helping us.

Cindy Collins

Great care

G Holli

Very nice staff. Fast and efficient people.

Chris Drewer

Had an ear infection and they were able to get me in and out within 309 minutes, prescriptions were waiting when I got the pharmacy.

Dave Landry

We waited and waited Tuesday night - finally got in a room - and a very non-compassionate doctor - never touched me - just said, "You need to go to the ER, we don't do catheters here." We will NEVER go back.

Debbie Lorentson

Very happy with the staff and care I receive. Doctors Care is an awesome alternative to going to the ER. When I can't get into my primary physician, I rely on Doctors Care.

michelle lambert

Very nice. Very quick.

Debbie Dodge

Staff was great, very nice ! Great nurse practitioner! NO COMPLAINTS!

kimberly ellis

I was there 5 minutes and got right in.. The receptionist we're very friendly and fun.. The doc was laid back and awesome.. It took me 20 minutes and I was leaving.. Loved it.. I would tell anyone who asks that your place was amazing and to go there... Plus after a few days they called me to see how I was feeling! Thank you for being a great place to go!

Connie Darr

Wonderful staff, nurses & doctors

Debbie Donovan

Best experience that I have had in health care in this area. Dr. Hughes is an excellent diagnostician. He listened to me, heard what I said, and accurately diagnosed my problem. The support staff is great, and the wait time was only 20 minutes.

Michael King

Awesome staff , awesome service. Great place.

Steve Mykut

Say they took my grandsons insurance then turned around and billed me for seeing the Dr for 5 minutes, $250.00, then said they never said they would bill his insurance. I would have taken him some place that accepted his insurance if they were honest! I will be calling the Better business bureau, as well as the insurance is not to happy since they were never billed at all! Doctors care is approved to bill them!

Sharon Turner

They will help. Good people my nurse and physician assistant were great

Marie Todd

Awesome, thanks for having caring doctors!

Kisha T

My husband and I were out of town and I wasn't feeling well. We chose this location because of the rating...Well the rating scale isn't High enough because the Triage nurse Ms. Sherri was the most considerate healthcare professional I have Ever met. She wasn't only concerned about my well being but my husband as well because I hadn't eaten in two days neither had he(an actual sit down meal)

Mandi Cooper

Dr Gauthier I found to be very nice. He listened to my complaints and explained treatment for me. A very welcomed change after seeing other Doctors

DJ Martin

I don’t remember the doctor’s name, I wish I did, but she was very professional and knowledgeable. She took care of my problem without trying to add on unnecessary tests. I highly recommend this office, and even tenfold over any ER. Please let the staff know they are appreciated.

Webster Hall

Great experience great staff

James Hardy

Broke my toe on vacation by the surfside fishing pier. Found doctors care. They saw me right away and treated me very quickly. The doctor and staff were very friendly and qualified. If you need attention while on vacation this is the place to go.

Cameron H

Everyone here was amazing. The staff and doctor I saw was so nice and helpful. Quick service- in and out in 30 minutes. I was so very impressed.

Patricia Runnion

checked in online. Had to wait 2 hours for available appointment. Got a text the appointment is 20 minute delayed. Arrived at delayed appointment time. 2 hours later STILL waiting. Walkin patient wait time per the check in desk is 2 hours. What was the point of checking in on online. What a mistake in judgement on my part. Here 3 hours now...my goodness. Very inefficient process.

Hipsy Gypsy

If you go into Drs Care with any type of Mental illness or Anxiety disorder. You are wasting your time. I was told, they could no longer help me that I needed to go to wacammaw mental health clinic. I called Wacammaw mental health to make an appt, I told them I was referred by Doctors Care in Surfside and I was refused an apt. Said My "condition wouldnt kill me" Really, this is our health care system. Mental illness patients as myself have a hard enough time, building up the courage to walk into a Dr's office and pour out our hearts and problems in fear of Being judged, called crazy, or just looking for "drugs" Which is not my case at all. I just wanted help, I need help for my disease/illness. I am a mother of 4, I run my own successful business, a Wife etc. I just happen to have this terrible condition that hinders my every day life. I know there is help out there, but Drs. Care is not the place to get it.

Amanda Shipley

The wait was over an hour. The receptionist was rude. The other receptionist left my husband ID and insurance card laying on her desk and walked away. My husband went up and took it back and it took her over 10 min to realize it was missing. Not very clean and they are extremely slow!!

Sunny Day

Do not be in a hurry. Expect at least a 2 hr wait. Staff is friendly.

DeAnn Strasinger

Nurses were very friendly and caring!

Michelle Cooper

My husband came in for a severe ear infection and was seen by one the the female doctors. She examined my husbands ear(no ct, no blood work) sent him home with amoxicillin and told to take Tylenol. The next day he was even worse. No sleep, whole side of head swollen and ear closed up. Called back and told them he had sharp piecing pain going through head and he was crying it hurt so bad. (hubby can take pain but this was unbearable) ask for some pain medication and was told to come back in. This time was told same doctor was there but was given another doctor this time they put wax in ear so could keep ear open to put drops in it she gave him. And sent home. Drops were $40 with insurance mind you. So next day with no relief and putting heat on ear I made hubby go to emergency room... thank god for Dr Mann. He saw us as soon as we sat into room. Immediately put him on a stronger antibiotic by intervenes and gave a pain medication shot follow by two pills of pain medication. We were told he was level 4 and they did a ct. It showed his infection was so deeply into his ear drum that it was very serious. My husband was given a steroid shot and we were released. When he walked out the hospital he wanted to eat (which is wonderful sign) and had a huge relief in pain. Will never use doctors care again the money we paid at a er was worth it. I want my money back doctors care. Don’t even think about billing me. You did nothing but waste our time not to mention not get him on his feet and he missed two days work. No thank you

Went and paid for a TB test. Came back, got the results read OVER THE COUNTER...didn't even go to the back. Received a bill for $60 stating they drew blood!!!! On hold the first time for 20 minutes, got nothing resolved. On hold for another 18 minutes...nothing except they're transferring me from person to person! I AM LIVID!!!!

Trey Hubbard

been there several times, great place, good doctors and nurses

Tiffany Chabot

Never usually write reviews. I'm not a doctor or hospital kind of person but the doctor and nurses were absolutely amazing! If I ever have to go somewhere I will be going back to this doctors care. Can't say enough about their kindness and the excellent patient manners A+++

The Cons: unfriendly receptionist, waited 20 minutes (with a crying, and very sick toddler) before I was given new patient paperwork to fill out. Realized after we left that the pharmacy I gave them was closed. Called back up there 45 minutes before they close and the phones said they were closed. I had to drive back up there to get another prescription. I bet the lazy receptionist had the phones turned off! The Pros: doctor was thorough and nice enough.

Tina Tennant

Everybody there was very nice. I was in and out fast. Very convenient and will recommend to my friends.

Staff was friendly and courteous. The doctor was very knowledgeable

Lindsay Waldner

Had a good experience. Checked in online, and they textend me when it was time tof come in. I was there for about 2 hours total (not bad for an urgent car) ,and that included xrays and shots. Everyone incredibly nice.

DO NOT go to Doctor’s Care if you think you have flu. They are way over charging for flu test. After I saw my claim I realized they charged $200 for a flu swab. I called other places around who take walk ins too and they only charge around $60 for it to test flu A & B

The 2 hour wait was a bit much, but the doctor was laid back and very friendly. I was completely satisfied with care given and staff. Prescriptions were called in immediately, and they even called the next day to check on me. The wait was worth it.

My experience at this office was excellent. The entire staff was genuinely caring. Their smiles, upbeat attitude and concern certainly made my visit pleasant and that counts extra when dealing with a broken arm. I highly recommend this office & staff.

Registered online, was sent a text of when to arrive. Was sent back right away. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, got me in and out. Will definitely use again and recommend.

This is a great place with excellent professional staff that treats people as if they are regulars regardless if the are single timers!

Matt Hertel

Great doctor and friendly staff.

If you want to spend half of your day in the doctors office go here, The online check in is a total joke. They tell us to come in at 10:30 and we end up waiting two hours before we get called in.

We were on vacation and my daughter got an ear ache and fever. We went in around 9AM and we didn't have to wait very long. The doctor and all of the staff were great. He prescribed drops and put her on an antibiotic. My daughter felt much better almost immediately...and we were able to enjoy the rest of our vacation. We highly recommend this location.

I was on vacation and came in for a pre-employment PPD. The day it was placed was ok. No one was warm and fuzzy. When I came back 2 days later to have the results read- they handed me paperwork to complete. The same paperwork I completed before- when I attempted to explain why I was there and tell them I completed the paperwork 2 days ago. 2 people at the front desk were rude and let it be known by eye rolling and loud sighs- they did not appreciate me asking questions. I will not go back. There are to many other places to go.

We are down here on vacation and just left the office with our 1 year old. The staff was so nice, the dr was very patient and sweet, and we were in and out quickly. I am glad we picked this urgent care out of the several options we had!

Nick Galli

It was busy but everyone was friendly and courteous.

Kristin Mckenrick

The receptionist was friendly as well as the nurse but the doctor was awful. He didn’t explain anything to us. We went in because we thought my daughter had a stomach bug and he was like nope it’s the flu, I put in medicine for you to pick up. Then walked out. Didn’t ask us if we had questions or tell us which flu it was or what to watch out for. I had to call back later and find out what she had and what to look out for.

Nanette Romain

I had an abscess tooth and was in a lot of pain. The nurse practioner only prescribed a antibiotic and told me to take Tylenol! The antibiotic cost $102. Obviously they are more concerned with payment then service.

Clay Sorensen

Doctor, nurses, staff and service simply OUTSTANDING!!!

Kimberly Tiraboschi

Dr. Hughes was more than helpful in diagnosing me and taking the TIME to talk to me and figure out what was best. For an urgent care doctor, I don't really expect much, so when he sat down and talked to me, I was blown away. Amazing service from the front desk to the room!

Nancy Kuperman

Wonderful experience from check-in to check-out!! Don't understand some negative reviews I've read. Everyone was friendly & professional.

Tony Roberts

Complete waste of time. Ridiculously long wait times just to see a physician that acted like a jerk. Cramped rooms and a staff that spends more time talking in the hallways then in the examination room. No thanks.

rick natali

top notch!

Jaimie Douglas

The wait was over two hours. The front office staff was nice but back office and doctor I saw were not. The nurse insisted I step on the scale but I couldn't put any weight on one leg. The doctor interrupted me when I tried to inform him of my injury. He felt it was more important to tell me his qualifications. I tried to explain all I wanted was a good standard of care and his response was for me to "calm down".

Brianne Parker

I called today to ask a question and was not even allowed the option of talking to a nurse or the doctor. I have been a patient there for regular health maintenance as well as sick visits for almost 11 years. I am very disappointed in the interaction I had today. I am switching to a full time family practitioner this week, and I honestly can say, it isn't quick enough. Over the past few years, I have had phone calls not returned and confusion about some of the visits I have had. I wish this wasn't the case because I really like the lead physician; however, you can't talk to him or a nurse to discuss your needs...obviously. Now, I will have to work with the new family practitioner and hope that she will be flexible enough to work through what Doctor's Care would not. After all of these years, this is beyond disappointing.

Monica DeHaven

Friendly reception but I have been waiting for over 2 hours. Still have not been seen. In waiting room 1 hr 20 min. In room still waiting....going on 2 and half hours. Horrible service!

Eliana Smith

The doctors and nurses were wonderful! My daughter busted her chin open at the water park and they took exceptional care. The wait was not long at all. The reason for the lower review is billing related. I called initially to find out pricing for stitches and was told 175, we didn't get stitches, just glue, and the bill was 360. I called their billing department who stated they could not help and told me to call the doctors care office back. I called and they transferred me 3 times, had me on hold for over 8 minutes. A very sweet nurse got a hold of the manager. The manager stated that the $360 was correct. I just wish they would have given us correct information from the start. The manager is going to speak to regional manager about it, but not looking like they are going to do much. Will update if anything changes. UPDATE: received a call from someone at the regional office. Very kind man. He is going to to make it right. God bless them!

Jennifer Yachanin

Wonderful caring staff and doctors

S Richey

Honestly, this was the most uneducated doctor I had. I wish I remembered her name. Went in for a spider bite and the doctor said, I honestly don't know what a spider bite looks like. And then proceeds to give me what she knows: swollen, red, and leaking. Apart from leaking the bite WAS red and swollen. She, the doctor, merely shrugged her shoulders. I will never return nor will I tell anyone to go here.
