The 2 stars given are for Dr. Presnal, the three not given, are for his team! Dr. Presnal himself is great.
I have gone through two hips surgeries with Dr. Personal and each time I have been met with negative intentions from his team. However, I have been overall pleased with Dr. Presnal's professionalism and work. With that said, his team has been rude and unwilling to work with me on more than one occasion.
- Scheduling a post-op appointment, took 3 phone calls with personnel being rude, short, and the feeling that I'm an inconvenient to them. I eventually received a schedule date that both sides could agree on, however no reassurance that they would be more willing to work with me in the future was given.
- Pre-op medication, this is probably not done very often but I had already spoken to Dr. Presnal about the situation. I live over an hour away from the hospital and getting a prescription filled after the surgery is less than ideal. He understood and was willing to work with me. I called his team the day before the surgery and explained the situation. They said they don't do that. It took 3 additional phone calls, two visits, and some high blood pressure to get this to happen. I asked them each time to please speak with Dr. Presnal.
- Additional post-op medication for decompression surgery on my left hip - 8 days later when my medication was running low and I was still in significant pain, I requested a potential refill, I was met with more short answers and a no. I live with necrosis in both my hips and have undergone two hip surgeries within 6 months so I see a pain clinic monthly. They have me on mild pain medication regiment to make my life suck less. I had recently filled that medication, once again, a much milder pain medication taken a few times a day; this was no post-op medication! The pain clinic was aware that I was having surgery and was willing to work with me during the process. Also, Dr. Personal was fully aware that I visit the pain clinic monthly, but his team was obviously not aware or just didn't care! I was refused additional post-op medication and I went through a lot of unnecessary pain! A lot of icing! I asked Dr. Presnal's office to call and speak with the pain clinic and the fifth phone call, they said they would. However, they never called me back when I asked them specifically to please call back. All the phone calls were quick, short answers of, that is not allowed. My response, having someone drill into your hipbone is not ideal and very painful, the pain clinic understood this, why can't Dr. Presnal's office understand?
If you don't mind dealing with his very rude team, Dr. Presnal is a great surgeon. It saddens me that I had to write such a bad review.
