Good Doctors, Great extended Hours.

Can never get anyone on the phone. I think 20 mins of hold time was the quickest I was ever able to make an appointment. The doctors are very impersonal, the front desk have very poor people skills and referrals take weeks. Nothing good to say about this doctors office.

Dr Martins nurse is RUDE! She stated”this will be a short appointment, not a long one”. Well, when we made the appointment, they failed to tell us that! And, when it comes to the care of my momma, screw you nurse, it will be as long as it needs to be! I never saw Dr Martin that stressed! He almost let his nurse make him be the doctor that Carolina Medical wants him to be. Carolina Medical should be ashamed!!! I am considering changing my moms doctor. She has been with Shiland since before it was even Shiland!!!! She deserves better care than —-you are #500 and you have 15 minutes with your doctor, Hell , it takes her 15 minutes to lift her foot for a step. Come on people, did you go to medical school for this? Or, do you want to help people? My mom at age 87 is healththy except for her mind with Alzheimer’s. Her good health is due to her care by my sister! When I heard that nurse speak to my sister so rudely, it took great power to be the good girl my momma taught me to be! I am SO disappointed in Shiland! By the way, they put my moms private medical info in MY file due to FMLA. They don’t know what they are doing, when you fill out that form, It goes in the patient file!!! What if I didn’t have a file???? Dr. Martin, you are smarter then this, don’t let your nurse lead you, YOU are the doctor. Is this what you saw when you went to medical school? SHAME on Shiland Family Madical!!!!!!! They all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I was on hold for about 2 hrs yesterday trying to make an appointment but found out this morning that they had phone problems. Seems like they would have had a message or done something to let callers know. I was very mad mainly because I was very sick. Called this morning and got right through and they had someone call me right back immediately about my illness. I have been seeing the older docs here off and on for many years and have no complaints about any of them.

The office staff and administration are non caring. They talk to you how ever they want to and nothing happens but you defend yourself and they will deem you as the bad person. This is not a good place to go... all the good doctors are leaving .. that should tell you something.

I had not been seen for a while which considered as a new patient, that is fine just tell me so!!!!! Why the receptionists previously kept hung up my phone without letting me know the reason??? Please handle your job as a professional. Stop acting like a fool, you will realize when your patients start taking their visits elsewhere.

Very disappointed. It's become harder and harder to get an appointment when you're sick. If you need to see someone for a simple health screening for insurance it could be a month or longer before they can see you. I don't care for my primary doctor. When I needed pain meds for an illness he didn't warn me about the horrible side effects from it when it came time to stop taking it. I was actually warned about it by my eye doctor, who suggested I talk to my doctor to make a plan to come of the meds. I did that, and my doctor tried to put me on another pain med that was just as addictive. I had to carefully explain that I didn't want to change meds, I wanted help quitting the one I was on. I do have to say that I have liked Dr. Nobel so far. She has seen my child and it was a good experience. I'm seriously thinking of changing. My husband has seen Dr. Sick regularly and has been very pleased with him.

I've been with Shiland for almost 11 years and have watched a steady decline in customer service. So many Doctors have left for "various" reasons. Now, I feel as if I only matter if I'm ill or hurt. (Money) Since moving to the new building, the front desk staff, the exit staff and the nurses are non caring and at times down right rude. The way they pass messages back and forth between the departments is a joke. Whatever happen to talking to your Nurse or Doctor rather than have the front desk text them to call you back? I was recently asked to call back if the order for nocotine patches was incorrect (which it was) and for 5 days now I have gotten the run around after leaving countless messages and going in again twice (only allowed to leave a message). Now I'm a day away feom having no nicotine patches (to better my quality of life) and have had no contact with the Nurse, Doctor or confirmation of a correcter script. I'm sure if I was sick and they could make money during these visits, I would be important. You would think they would get a hold of me any way possible since this is technically a med error but no. I honestly don't believe this issue has anything to do with Doctor though as Dr. Jamal is awesome. If she was at a different practice, I would still be her patient but the shortcomings of everyone else fail the whole experience. Don't waste your time here. When this final script is filled, I'm switching practices. This place is not worth the time or frustration.

Dr. Michelle Noble has fantastic bedside mannor. She is attentive and does not make you feel silly for asking questions or deeper explanation. I will refer my friends to her care. It is a relief to meet a compassionate and dedicated doctor!

Dr. Jamal is seriously the most caring doctor i have ever had. So many doctors now won't listen to what you have to say but she not only listens but considers your route of care. I trust her fully and my family loves her. Her nurses are also top notch, i always feel so comfortable when i am there.

I have been coming to shiland for almost 35 years. I love most of the doctors. I always leave with satisfying answers. They are always concerned about my well-being and if they don't know what's going on they will find someone who does.

I have been a patient of Shiland for many years, Dr Pennington had been my doctor since I was a teen. She left as did so many others and I had been searching for a new doctor at Shiland. My past visit was with Dr Jamal for blood pressure support, she gave me a 30 day supply of medicine and scheduled a follow up appointment. I had been on this medication for many years, not sure why she would only give 30 days. But the appointment conflicted with another appointment I had so I called back to reschedule. She was booked up until the next month, I made an appointment with the assumption I could call and get a refill to hold me over until the next appointment. That was three weeks ago and I am still waiting for her to ok the refill. I called and canceled my followup with her and rescheduled with Dr. Martin. Shiland is a great place but be careful with the doctor you choose.

I hate to say that this place has gone to crap since they changed locations. they ran off the only two doctors I liked. I've been sick for over a week now so I decided to make an appointment with what ever doctor they had available. I was given an appointment that same day with Dr. Martin. Of course they ask you to be at your appointment 15 mins early. My appointment was at 6:30pm so I showed up at 6:12pm. I was checked in with no wait.. no other patients where there.,, I was then told that there was not a room available for me yet and handed a pager like you get in a restaurant and told that when one was ready to come to the front desk and I would be given my room number. Finally at 6:40pm 10 mins AFTER my appointment time I walked up to the desk and asked how much longer it would be. well the woman who checked me in shot up from her chair and quickly glanced at her computer and said a room number. I can only assume that my room had be ready for some time. Once I got to my room the nurse came in and did her preliminary questions and vitals. After about an hour AFTER my appointment time I stepped outside my room and asked a nurse how much longer it would be to see the doctor because my appointment was at 6:30pm and it was NOW 7:30pm . She looked at me and said "ummm well I'm not sure. He's running a little behind and I think there is still one or two more people before you." I said ok and walked back inside my room and closed the door. By the time I sat back down in the chair the doctor quickly walked in. Didn't introduce himself, apologize for my wait or the fact the he was "running" behind. The he quickly rambled off some questions to me about my reason for coming. After his exam he confirmed what pharmacy I used and asked if I wanted anything other than an antibiotic. I said I didn't know.. I wasn't the doctor.. I said whatever you think will help. He replied with "well its symptomatic so its up to you if you want something else". then he rambled off some over the counter produces. then asked again if I wanted something other than antibiotics. I said no thats ok. He quickly stood up handed me my flow sheet and said will by the time you get to the pharmacy they should have your prescription.

So disappointed with how things turned out with Shiland as I really liked my doctor during my visit. Unfortunately, a clerical mix-up caused my claim to be denied and it took 3 MONTHS(!) of stressing out and constant phone calls (they never returned any calls BTW) for them to finally say they wouldn't redo the paperwork for me. I thought I'd found a doctor who was caring and supportive, but she didn't have my back in the end and it cost me. Worse than having to pay a hefty bill for a simple consultation, they made me feel like crap when they should have been helping me. Thankfully there are other doctors and facilities in my area because no one in my family is going back to Shiland. Save yourself the trouble and money and go somewhere else. Good luck!

Worst Dr ever. I waited over a month for appt. Go in only to be told they have to refer me to another Dr. That didn't stop them from taking my money. Then they tried to run up my bill with all kind of test for things I didn't come for. I left still in pain, money gone, and still having to wait on another Dr so I can hopefully get treatment. It's so hard for black people to get good medical help. This is a proven fact. After I left they still calling trying to get me to come in and get all kind of unnecessary labs done. This place is a scam. Charged me and my insurance and didn't do anything to help. Shame on y'all. Pretty sure if I was white I would've been treated alot different.

Valarie at the front desk is rude and unprofessional. I told her I was a sick patient but new and need to get in. She said since I was new I would have to wait until June but if I wasn’t they could fit me in. Really kinda ridiculous.

My Husband had an appointment this morning, he couldn't find time with his general doctor so scheduled with someone new. When he arrived this morning the nurse told him that the person seeing him would only discuss one of the two items of concern, because the NP he was seeing was not his normal doctor. When the Nurse Practitioner (Lorryn Yager) came in she immediately began talking about the lesser of the concerns, my husband was not given a choice. Never has he felt like more than a number, nor has he ever been asked to choose which problem is more important when seeking medical help because the NP didn't want to address both. Now he has to schedule a second appointment, we will be doing so with another healthcare provider.

Just had an appointment with Dr. Lai. He had the worst bedside manner of any Doctor I've ever seen. He came across as very terse, cold, and even condescending. As I was explaining my symptoms he seemed to almost "brush them off" as I'm somehow exaggerating and was hurrying me along. I see he has other complaints in these reviews so apparently it's not just me. Also I understand it's a large practice but of maybe the 20 times I've visited in the seven years being a member here I've seen my actual PCP twice. I'll be finding a new doctor.

Only come here for common illnesses. If you want a doctor to "take the bull by the horns" with your concerns go to Charlotte or find a doctor who specializes in the area you're concerned with. Communication is very poor at this facility and their check-in desk is large and very impersonal. Highly suggest seeking other help.

Horrible. Ever since they moved to the new building, they are horrible. Customer service is horrible, can never get an appt, just over all horrible. Will have to switch to a practice in Charlotte, which sucks for us.

The office mixed up which doctor I was supposed to see and then refused care. I was told I was seeing Dr. Stephen Martin, but then the nurse later told me I was seeing Dr. George Barron. Sloppy paperwork. Then the doctor refused to see me after I declined a weigh-in. He actually refused to sit down and explain why it was medically necessary. Well, his nurse said he refused. I never saw the man. I understand that some medications require a weigh-in for dosing and I definitely would consent in that circumstance, but I hadn't been prescribed anything. Then the office manager called me unreasonable after I asked that I not be billed since I never was seen.

I made a new patient appt. w/ Doc. Martin. Showed up 30 mins ahead and as I already am registered with Carolinas Med, they sent me right to a room. Turns out, Doc. Martin isn't accepting new patients; the nurse was BEYOND rude. They focused on a follow up from Piedmont E/R instead of what I showed up for - a basic checkup and routine bloodwork plus b/p meds. I didn't get seen today but instead wanted me to wait 2-3 weeks until they could get all ppwk sent to them. Guess who won't be going to them? Patient care really takes a backseat to paperwork and that nurse - she's just a glorified clerk who needs a refresher course in patient empathy.

They do not keep appointments at all regardless of what your appointment is for along with the office staff is extremely rude and uninformed I will never go here agin and if you are wise and dont want to waste your time I would suggest a different practice and I will be taking this compliment alot further since the biggest majority of these reviews state basically the same thing I have

DO NOT WASTE YOUR $ OR TIME! I wouldn't have given any stars, but I had to in order to comment. First let me say, I have worked in doctors offices, and hospitals dealing with direct care my entire life. My insurance changed, so my insurance advised Dr. Lai was accepting new patients. Great! Figured I would get in, have the initial extended visit, and get to know him. And address an issue I was having that was most certainly within the huge confines of ability here. Oh how wrong I was!! Not only is he rude, but extremely full of himself. The most narcissistic, and condescending, Cocky doctor I have ever met (and I've worked with neurosurgeons!! And As far as an exam.. He listened to my lungs and looked in my ears. I requested him to check the spot under my breast, HE REFUSED AND SAID HE DIDN'T NEED TOO! WAIT? ! WHAT?! The only thing this doctor did was take my money and waste my time.

I just moved to Rock Hill from Charlotte so I thought I would at least get a PCP locally for when I'm really sick and don't really feel want drive to Charlotte I could run up the street a see a doctor. But I was really not wanting to give up my wonderful MD in Charlotte so I procrastinated for a few months. I then decided to get established by this time they had lost some doctors and wasn't taking new patient. (Mind you this was a year ago) I have been calling this practice at least once a month to be told they are still not taking new patients and don't know when they will be. CMC you all have to get it together. :(

Dr. Sick is our favorite doctor and he used to be at the Urgent Care in York. We miss him. He treated several of our boys for emergency issues and always had a sense of humor that put children at their ease. I believe he is a fine doctor and always reference him and Dr. Anandpura as our family doctors. Dr. Anandpura is a wonderful person and always did great with our family's needs. However, after our family was healthy and well for over 3 years and our kids have grown up and are healthy young adults, we were shocked to learn that we were no longer considered patients because we had not come in after three years, but we had come in many times over 18 years previous. I know they lost doctors, but a simple letter would have alerted us that they were dumping all those families that had not visited in the past three years. We didn't need well visits, because we were well. So, it has been very difficult to get an appointment and I am now coming in as a new patient and hope that we can feel like we have a family doctor still. The funny thing about these reviews...anyone can post one so don't take them too seriously.

I called the billing department before scheduling a visit get get a price for the visit (I have to pay out of pocket). I was given an acceptable cost so I scheduled the appointment. The level of service I received from Dr Baron was subpar but that's not even my complaint here. When the bill for my visit finally arrived in the mail, it was for over double what I was quoted! I called and asked why and the person in the business office read off a couple of things that I discussed with the Dr. Apparently asking questions while the Doctor is in the room was not covered as part of the visit I scheduled. I was charged a higher fee due to the doctor addressing my additional questions. The doctor did not even touch me, he came in the room sat down, we talked for less than 10 minutes, then he left after telling me nothing more than come back in 3 months if the issue persists.

Good luck trying to get an appointment for a physical...clearly they are not in the business of preventative medicine. There is much more money to be made when your patients are already sick...every time I try to get an appointment for myself there is literally nothing available. I was told to go to Urgent Care instead. I need a major physical...and urgent care can't handle that. Now I can't get a new patient appointment anywhere for months. I am running out on prescription, which helps my breathing. I am at wits end. Oh and I am not a new patient.

I have irrational fear of Doctors, yet everyone in this office eased my fear and were great! I was a new patient and had no trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Jackson was awesome, his "bedside manner" put me at ease and he had no problem answering all of my many questions, any bad reviews of this office should be ignored. I do not believe a high IQ is required to know that the first google review listed was typed by an idiot and I pray I never have a customer like this.

Wow, i loved this place when Dr. Nobles was here. I was switched to Dr. Jamal who changed my entire regime which resulted in problems. She will not listen and will be hesitant to prescribe medication (not even talking about controlled substances) Inconsistency on the doctors notes. They judge rather than diagnose you. Dr. Jamal does not have the best interest at heart. Sad actually. To top this off, you call the office manager/supervisor are the biggest joke, they do not return phone calls. You have to literally hound them. I’m so shocked at how horrible this place really is. It’s way to big for its own good

Don’t run more than 4 minutes late for an appointment, regardless of the circumstance. They will refuse see you or refill your necessary prescriptions. This is a patient mill and all you are is a number.
