We love Dr. Elia! He gives us advice in a friendly manner, always helpful and makes us feel better about our parenting abilities, and is good with both our infant and toddler. We feel like he really listens and spends time with us, makes us laugh and feel comfortable, and that he answers all our questions with confidence to help our kids stay healthy and on track. The office is good overall - we have only had one appointment where they ran later than 10 minutes for us.
I have three sons age 18, 19 and 25. We have been going to metro pediatrics for 23 years now. My youngest was recently treated by doctor Licktieg for a finger infection. We love her. She feels like family. Metropolitan Pediatrics has been there through every illness. All the staff have been excellent. Such a comfort. They have helped me raise these three boys. I'm so sad that when my last son graduates from high school we have to move on. Highly recommended.
Id reccomend it to anyone
Dr Elia and everyone at metro pediatrics are absolutely amazing! They’ve taken such wonderful care of our daughter from day 1. They always get us in promptly regardless of the problem, front office and billing staff are friendly and competent, nurses are caring and engaging and every doctor we’ve seen has gone above and beyond to help us with our concerns. Our daughter looks forward to her visits, and I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart! Great people all around!
Dr. Burton is AMAZING! While we waited quite some time to be seen, I truly didn’t mind the wait because I knew the evaluation would be thorough. My thoughts are always that the providers spend extra time with their patients and provide top notch care, so waiting isn’t a big deal to me.
As always, having our kiddos seen by this office has continued to be a great experience. Quick and all our needs are always met.
Dr. Rocco and the staff here are always warm and welcoming to both kids and I. They have always treated us with respect, showing interest in my little ones' thoughts and feelings, and are professionally knowledgeable. I appreciate that there is an advice nurse available for questions without a charge (you do have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back, and there have been occasions I had to call again to leave another message). As with any doctor's office, there usually is a wait, so I never expect to be in and out quickly. The trade off to this is that Dr. Rocco is fully present with us when he's in the exam room, answering all my questions and giving thoughtful recommendations, I never feel he's rushing through his time with us. The parking, however, is an utter fiasco. The parking spots are very narrow, seemingly designed exclusively for compact cars, and the garage is frequently full (or there are too many suvs taking up two spots). Last time, we had to unbuckle and climb out the back of the vehicle, as we couldn't open the doors without damaging the neighboring cars. If you or your child have mobility issues, you may need to consider a different location, as the "handicap" spots always seem to be taken too. This isn't Metropolitan Pediatrics fault, of course, but is something to keep in mind.
Dr. Bix has been my son's pediatrician since he was born and she's always been amazing. She routinely goes above and beyond and genuinely cares about her patients. The office is super easy to deal with. Highly recommended.
I always learn something when I take my kids to the doctor, and so do my kids. The kindness, ethics , wisdom , concern, for my kids has always been their priority. I do recommend this group every chance I get.
We love them.
I definitely recommend Metropolitan Pediatrics! Dr Rocco Elia has always been a great doctor to my son. They are always available to help with anything that comes up. I have always been pleased with going to them and we have been going here for 13 years.
I love Dr Meyer, Dr. Ashi and Dr. Elias (who I have only seen a couple of times, but really would see him if Dr. Meyer wasn't so good for my boys). What I love about them is they explain their thinking and tell the kids exactly what they are looking for as they do an exam. Its not just an exam, its an education. The kids then understand the process and where changes occur in their body when illness occurs. I am always impressed with the level of attention and care. One thing I loved about Elias (and it has been similar to all my situations) is he diagnosed my son with pneumonia. He didn't hear anything when he listened but by symptoms and length of symptoms he felt it warranted an Xray. When he saw the X-ray he said "there is no way I can't hear this" and he relistened to my sons lungs. It showed my son that even doctors can learn from patients and keep learning as they go. When he relistened and heard it even my son felt the squeaks at that time, so they both got a good experience. Great practice!
Great service! We love Dr. Elia. He's great with our children.
This is the best group of doctors. Very caring. I have been with them for over 18 years! Best of the best: Dr. Burton!
Cris is the best at administering vaccines! Dr. Bix, Katie and Cris are incredibly caring!
These doctors may be good, but who can tell when they turn you away for making an honest mistake and show up 15 minutes late instead of 15 minutes early? I have never been turned away from a doctor's appointment in my life. I took my child out of school early, and left the office hours early to get there early. If this practice is just some overbooked appointment factory, I'm finding a doctor elsewhere -- one with personal attention and an ounce of compassion.
This office is getting more and more crowded. We always have to wait 30 minutes to 1 hour to be seen by the provider. Some nurses are good, some are not. They sometimes type in the wrong measurements into my baby’s growth chart.
We have been coming to Metropolitan Pediatrics for 9 years since my son was born. Our primary Dr. Is Dr. Lickteig, but every doctor we have seen has been great. Highly recommend.
several examples and experiences: my baby gets constipated on a regular basis since she was born. She would go without pooping for almost 10 days once...and all I got from her - just wait it out ..quote "some babies go weeks without pooping", I get that some do..but if it is dangerous for a grown man not to poop for more than 3 days why should it be fine for a little baby? When later the same thing continued at 5 month age her advise was - give her prune juice..or pears. I am not saying it is a bad advise , I just feel there are more things I can do..like maybe Probiotics for Infants..maybe changing my diet since I do breastfeed, drink fiber since it will pass to my milk. And I only know this now because I read about it and talked to other doctors... Another time she glanced at my baby's neck and said that she had a Birth mark where it is clearly not that. It went away and then came back again, so maybe it is some sort of heat rash, or allergy to what I ate ..I dont know. Also I am not vaccinating my child and Marry Eggsieker told us that we need to seek other Practice. And Fear factor is big with her, scaring me from the start that if I dont vaccinate my child is in grave danger..where all the vaccinations are for things that are not deadly. The only really dangerous one I know is whooping cough but even that can be helped if just paying attention to my baby at all times. And what is most importantly - vaccine doesn't give immunity, it only creates antibody which by the way wears off and that is why so many repeats for each one of them. Maybe instead of scaring young moms about potential death of their children - teach more people how to build stronger immune systems for their babies, by doing : using humidifiers in babies room, strolls outside, vitamins, probiotics, healthy foods for mom that breastfeed so she will pass on all her immunity and nutrients...things like that perhaps. Our bodies are not flawed. (and I understand that there are different circumstances, it is just treating everybody like 'another kid" is not OK, doctor. ) That is my personal opinion! Horrible practice! Zero stars if possible
Wish there was a sick entrance for sick kids. But I love Dr. Burton
We’ve always been happy with Metropolitan Pediatrics and Dr. Elia has been fantastic! Always felt like he has been great at listening to us and addressing any concerns directly, honestly but also in a way that brings our stress levels way down. Great at putting the kiddo at ease as well. Appointments are always on time without much waiting. Much appreciated!
Awesome experience. I luv the way they treat the kids and the patience they have with them..
The staff is always so warm and welcoming.
Metropolitan Pediatrics is wonderful. Dr. Aishu has such a kind and thoughtful demeanor and a highly personal approach. We have come to think of her as both a health care provider and trusted advisor. The facilities are great and very convenient if you are anywhere near downtown Portland. Highly recommended!
They have been the most kind and attentive to my daughter's needs since she has been born. I would recommend them to any and everyone.
Dr. Meyer is always caring and understanding. She focuses on your child and not only that she make sure that you’re OK. We are so lucky to have her Dr. Meyer
Karen Likteig is a great doctor. She’s funny, knowledgeable and caring. The nurses are also all extremely kind. The office returns calls quickly. I’m very happy with this pediatric office.
Love our provider! Hate the ridiculously long wait time. We routinely wait 1 hour past our appointment time before seeing our provider. Yesterday we were 45 mins in the lobby then 30 minutes in the exam room. This is our usual experience. No where else do we wait like this. Please address this, I see by the other reviews that wait time is a repeated issue.
Great pediatricians, clinicians, and staff that truly care about your child's health and well being.
Love Dr.Collins. She has been my children's doctor since the day they were born. She's like a part of our family.
We were having a baby at Providence. We went through Providence Midwives. Everything was wonderful. The only bad experience was having to deal with these guys. After all of the hard work was done and my wife was in a recovery room. Richard Barsotti, comes in and talks to us for 5 minutes. He touches the kid and lets us know that everything looks good. We never see him again. When we are ready to leave the hospital, we have to wait there for 2 more hours until the nurse can get ahold of the doctor just to get his approval to let us leave. Then he charges us $269.00 for his services. I call to "understand my bill" and they tell me it's because he was overseeing us and that he has to do the discharge paperwork. The funny thing is, I know the nurse actually did the paperwork. I'm assuming the doctor signed it in the end but I doubt he did much. I'm writing this review because I feel the charges are unfair and inaccurate for time spent. I'm know that if we can be treated like a set fee, then you will be too if you. I would stay away from them and go to a clinic that actually sees you as an individual case instead of a standard fee.
We really appreciate the extra hours. Our favorite nurse is Hannah at the Good Sam location
We love our pediatrician office. Came by to get our 10mo old her flu shot, and we were seen promptly. Though we had never met that staff member before, she did so well I'm not even sure my baby realized she got a shot! So far I've been happy with all the staff we've met there and we adore Dr. Elia.
I've reviewed before but we now have an additional child receiving care here now. This office meets and exceeds all of our expectations. Dr. Elia is as kind as he is knowledgeable. The nurses and front desk staff are wonderful to us. We feel very lucky to have found this office upon becoming parents. I'm admittedly difficult to please and my wife is a nurse so our glowing opinion of Metro Pediatrics is coming from people who are quick to criticize medical services in general but can't find any reason to.
We went for my son 14-year annual checkup. Love the ‘talk’ that Dr.Burton gave him about screen time, being active and her demand on him to eat right especially for breakfast! Couldn’t have done it better ourselves! Thank you.
Love going to Metro Peds. My daughter's doctor is great and makes sure all the right stuff happen to help my daughter grow.
The staff is always kind and gentle. Dr. Meyer is the best pediatrician in the Portland area. My boys love her and we love this place!
Dr Elia has been such an amazing doctor for my boys! Very genuine and caring. We never feel rushed. He always has great new insight for the developmental stage that we are going through. Great parenting and behavioral tips. We love him!
Doctor was running a little behind, but we were informed of that right away, which is exactly how that should be handled. The staff were all friendly and upbeat. Dr spent plenty of time with us and answered every question we asked in a thorough and understandable manner.
My kids have been patients of Dr Meyer for the last 7 years. She is amazing, down-to-earth, kind, and has great insight on every kind of issue I have with my girls. The nurses on call have calmed me down in the middle of the night, and the front desk has worked hard to get my kids in to see someone on short notice for ear infections or whatever their issue. Understanding what comes with visiting a doctor in this day, from what they charge to arriving late to an appointment, is part of being an adult. There's too many great things about this practice to worry about these silly complaints.
I've head great experience with Metropolitan Pediatrics! Staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Elia has been amazing and on top of things when my son really needed help. I am very grateful for this clinic and recommend it highly!
Love our doctor hate the waits
The service is really good. It could be better if there is any entire map for buildings because it was a little bit difficult to find the office
I really like Dr. Bix, always have. But I do not understand why I wait an hour after my appt time to see her EVERY SINGLE time we go. Seriously. That doesn't happen at my primary care doc at Providence. Doesn't happen when my wife goes to Kaiser. Really, you gotta do better on this. It's painful. I get that stuff happens, but this is a 100% pattern. Adopt the practices of other clinics that have solved this problem.
Dr. Bix is a wonderful pediatrician, she's attentive, knowledgeable and easy to relate to.
