REVIEWS OF Oklahoma Pain Center IN Oklahoma

I was taken from around the clock pain management and put on a medication used for opiate abuse. How is this helping my pain at all? I experience pain continually on my lower back and hips.

I have been going to Oklahoma Pain Center since 2012...since then they have become like family than a physician’s office. The staff is amazing and empathetic. When my husband passed in February, Tommy, the nurse who handles my Pain Pump came to my husband’s viewing. You won’t find that kind of care and compassion from most Doctors or their staff anywhere. The level of care that I receive from Dr. Kelly and Tommy Parker is by far the best medical care that I have ever received by any physician or his staff...and due to my joint issues and chronic pain, I have seen plenty of Doctors! I would, and have recommended, that anyone looking for a Pain Management Doctor, see Dr Kelly or Dr. Lynch.

I am not a patient, but my dad is, He suffers from chronic pain due to an accident and has for over 30 years. He lost so many moments with his family and grandkids, after having to find a new doctor when his retired, 4 years ago. That is, until he started seeing Dr Stephens last month. He went from being told just to “accept and adjust” to his new life to, for the first time in YEARS, asking to do things he hasn’t been able to. The wait time was less than 15minutes and he spent actual quality time getting to know and see my dad, not seeing him as “drug seeker” as I felt he had been previously treated. I am a nurse and went because he wanted me to to help understand things he couldn’t and I’m so happy I did! Dr Stephens nurse is just wonderful! She is so sweet and so caring! I can’t say thank you enough for the care and quality of life they have given back to my dad and our whole family. Happy to have our dad and papaw back! Highly recommend!

I am able to talk to my PA and then she tries to help me with the situation. She always seems concerned about me as a person.

Highly recommend them!! Everyone here is so nice and professional and most importantly they care about you and are very compassionate about your medical care!! Everyone there has always treated me with respect, especially the PA and her nurse. I’ve never had trouble getting an appt when I need one. I truly have never had a negative experience here or have anything negative I could say about them. I am very grateful I was fortunate enough to have been referred here! Keep up the good positive work you do guys, it is very much appreciated!

Dr. Gallardo is unprofessional and lacks compassion. She seems to be very jaded and thinks everyone just wants narcotics. During the first visit she was all about natural remedies which I was excited about. She prescribed low dose naltrexone for me, and when I did research on it at home I got so excited thinking I'd finally be well. She swore up and down there would be no side effects and was convinced it would work. Well, it didn't. And I had bad side effects that resulted in damage to my intestines. When I went for the second visit to try to find something else, and told her about my reaction to it, she was very dismissive and scoffed "I must have over 100 other patients on this medicine that have no problem with it." I reminded her that I told her during my first visit that I am very sensitive to medications. She started going down the list of all these other medicines and options - most of which I had already tried or was unable to do. She started getting frustrated as we went through them. Several times, she practically yelled at me about how she's "just not going to prescribe opiates" and treating me like a drug seeker - until I reminded her that I wasn't even asking for narcotics. Her attitude was awful at this point. She finally prescribed some kind of cheek strip type medicine. She brought in a "sample" of the strip that she said more than once contained no medicine, it was "for practice" she said. She made me demonstrate that I knew how to use it. Then the x-ray tech came in the room to get me for an x-ray and as my husband and I were walking out, she said "She's picky!" behind my back - knowing I'm deaf and couldn't hear her (my husband told me later what she said). I’m not picky, I just don't want to make myself sicker than I already am. I can’t help that I am sensitive to medications. On the way home, I started feeling very "off" and sick. It felt exactly like another bad reaction to a medicine. I strongly suspected it wasn’t a practice strip, but actually contained medicine. A couple of days later, I talked to a pain management doctor elsewhere and he confirmed that no such strip exists medicine-free. So it appears as though she lied to me and dosed me without my knowledge. The kicker? When I looked up that medicine, I found out it was a narcotic. I was so confused. I did not fill the prescription because contrary to what she believes, I do not want narcotics. I wanted compassion, kindness, and respect. Dr. Gallardo may be awful, but the nurses and receptionists were nice and the clinic itself is nice and clean.

Dr Starkey he understands my pain. Help's me tremendously. With my shot's & my pain management. Every time I see him it's like we are best friends. His staff members are just as friendly. Very nice & professional. Couldn't ask for a better doctor to treat my pain. "Don't see gallardo. She don't want to give out pain medication! Treat's everyone like a drug addict. Very rude and disrespectful & hateful.

I was a patient for a little over a year at this clinic and I legitimately need pain medication to be able to get up and move around. But that's besides the point. I saw the doctor one time, Dr. Blake Kelly. Then I will send a different PA so I don't know when his name but he was a total jerk then I started seeing Stacy Torres she's a PA they're very nice lady. But one office visit I had tried to make them aware that I had to go to the emergency room because I had a huge laceration and on one of my drug test I did not have any of my medication in my system and I told him that I wouldn't because I ran out. So anyways, they tried to put me on a medication called Zo Hydro, which is Lortab without Tylenol which I would've loved to take us because the Tylenol makes my stomach hurt ) which is $600 they told me since I'm in that much pain I need to be on something longer lasting. I'm on disability so I have a very fixed income $600 a month I can't afford they said since I can't afford it. So it took me three months to find another doctor three months of agony. They only did that because they have drug reps that push them to do that and it's just frustrating

I was told I don't diagnose what is causing your pain and when asked about a certain block to help with pelvic pain, he said I am not familiar with that (not let me do some checking). I waited 1 hr and 55 minutes to see the Dr. I would NOT recommend Dr. Kelly. He might be business smart since he started the clinic $$$, but not patient smart!

I have been to a very large number of doctors. Dr Kelly is the best I have ever had. He took the time to understand how and why I feel the way I do. 100% happy to be lucky enough to be a patient of Dr Kelly!!

After 18 years of my condition, this is the first pain management clinic that I can say, truly cares about my overall health and well-being, not just the condition being treated by them. It is hard to find a truly attentive medical practice, but search no more. From the front desk, to prior authorizations, to insurance questions, to the nurses, and my PA and doctor, they all take the time to listen and answer my concerns and questions, as well as educate me on the processes, my condition and treatment concerns, sharing their knowledge of alternative treatments and exercise. They are truly concerned about your overall health, not just your pain issues. I cannot find anything negative about this office. The wait time in their comfortable waiting room is never more than 15 minutes. Tests are done respectfully. I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes once placed in a room because I know they are helping a patient and I know, when i need extra time for questions or concerns, they never cut me short.

I have been a patient at Oklahoma Pain Center for just over two and a half years. I have required help for chronic back pain for nearly 20 years and believe me when I say I have seen bad care and good care, and office staff. Dr. Kelly and the OPC staff are a breath of fresh air when it comes to visiting a doctor’s office; wait times are NEVER more than 10 minutes (I have had numerous occasions where my name was called before I had even finished checking in at the front desk!!). The interaction with staff is always friendly, compassionate, concerned, and personal... like they are working in my best interest. I know it’s a cliche, but their office really does function like a well-oiled machine! I have already referred family and friends to OPC. And my wife agrees completely, OUR lives have been positively influenced by the care and assistance. They are, indeed, a blessing for those who struggle with daily life because of debilitating chronic pain. I could not recommend them more. I thank God for these people...

I have been under the care of two other Pain Mangt. Offices since 2000, this one has done more in 3 months at managing my pain than the other two. As of recently Dr. Overby delivered a shot to decrease a nerve pain in my leg, not sure how long it lasts but I've gone a complete day pain free since 2000. Thanks to this Pain Mangt. Team network of Doctors for listening and treating us like humans and not animals.

I was a patient at this clinic for over 6 years, and voluntarily left last year. I hadn’t been pleased with my care for quite a while, but was hesitant to move to a new doctor because of the lack of good options in the pain management specialty. I have asked for recommendations from others and have only received advice on places NOT to go. Unfortunately this is one of those places. I saw a different PA at nearly every monthly visit. There was no consistency in care; I had to basically tell my “story” over every time, explaining my situation and what had happened or been planned at the last visit. I was lucky if I saw my actual doctor once or twice a year. If I ever raised concerns or asked for a change in care, I was treated with skepticism and suspicion, despite the fact that I passed the required drug tests every month and had been an established patient for years. I finally left when several of the doctors and PAs were unexpectedly let go, with no explanation. Then, the PA I was assigned to informed me that I HAD to completely stop taking a medication within a one month period. A medication that I never wanted to take, but was required to take in order to be a patient at that clinic, back when I first started there. A medication that provided no pain relief (something I told them every month), but ended up being harder to stop taking than other other medication I’ve ever taken. THANK GOD I was finally able to find an amazing new doctor, Dr. George Dawson at Sooner Pain Clinic. And he has been working with me to slowly get off of that medication, as to not cause horrible withdrawal side effects. He doesn’t understand why I was prescribed it in the first place. I only gave this place 2 stars because the ladies at the front desk and many of the check-in nurses were always so kind.

I was a patient here for all of 3 months before walking out of my appointment on January 14th. They knew before ever seeing me that I was using 1200 mg of medicinal marijuana for tremors. Well it was never an issue until my most recent appointment with a nurse because once again my doctor didn’t show. She left the room saying I will be right back, for my 2:20 appointment, and never returned before I finally left at almost 4:30. I had complied to a drug test at every appointment. Asked Immediately upon walking in if they needed one due to a urinary issue (provable with meds and imaging) I was told no and then the nurse decided I needed one without saying a word and that is when I was left in the room for almost two hours. I even made them aware I had an appointment it my doctor. Honestly, this experience helped me get off my butt and get business handled. Upon looking at paperwork from this clinic my SSDI Lawyer had told me to discuss the issues or get a new doc because their insufficient records could be harmful. I tried both routes. Let’s just start off by saying that I never even met the doctor I was assigned to because he didn’t show up for two of my appointments, yet they still had him call in pain meds for me twice, and had the his man listed as my doctor of record. How can someone that has never met me be my doctor of record? What they didn’t realize, is that I was already reaching to a genuine pain management physician that had been doing all of my proceedures, right up the road from them. This is when I found out that I was correct, that this clinic is filled with general family physician’s not those that trained specifically for pain. In fact, when looking at my records the code they used was general “low back pain” rather than actually listing my multiple official diagnosis. This could have ruined my chance of diabilty had I not caught this, by seeing a REAL pain management specialist. Plus randomly being cut off of your meds because “that doctor is out of town that’s all just wait until the 23rd.” isn’t exactly the best medical plan. Before I even left the clinic to go straight to my other doctor, whom’s team had verbally heard with their own ears how this staff had been treated me, and were so disturbed they went and got their doctor to listen for himself. I decided to give talking to their so called office manager Jason a chance rather than calling as initially planned. It was merely excuse after excuse with no attempt at correction made in fact he tried to make it my fault. He tried blaming the MJ which was notated in my original contact for tremors in the amount of 1200 mg weekly. Yet a total of 3000mg for the month (slightly more than half of what was written) was too confusing for their nurse practitioner. Next the blame went to it not being notated in my patient profile, finally I had enough and quoted my other medical teams recommendation about possibly going to the medical board. Next thing you know, 3 days after I signed a new contract with a doctor extremely familiar with them that warned me to stay away, I get a letter saying they can’t treat me for threatening to turn them into the med board that also told me my condition requires care, which is absolutely true, and precisely why they were fired 3 days prior!!!! In fact this letter wasn’t even written until after I had a new doctor. If you want to be another number, or have a team that encourages you to turn towards addiction, this is your place! If you want treatment, or a team to maintain accurate records, stay aware!!!! I honestly believe this place has had major issues with the DEA. It is going to get worse because I keep my word, and I will be contacting the med board, contacting my pharmacy for further direction, and filing a DEA report. Now if you want to be another number at a clinic with patients lined up out the door by 7:45, and little to no proper records, this is the clinic for you! There is a reason this clinic has so many one star reviews. This place is lucky to be considered anything other than a methadone clinic.

Worst ever!! They quit accepting my insurance, gave me a letter stating they were releasing me. Then, they charged me for a no show appointment after they'd released me. Gave proof to them, and they still refused to make it right. I have to sue them to make it right! Don't trust them!!

My doctor really never took the time to listen to me and said that at times I was agrumentive , when all I doing was trying to get questions answered , next thing I knew that I was fired as a patient

Just like an assembly plant you might see your Dr. one time a year if you throw a fit over it but if your not one of the people in his little click or a Bass boat you can forget it. Maybe I'm Old fashioned but after going someplace for years I would expect my Doctor to say something when we pass in the hallway and I say hello how are you. It's only about the money here not the people and if there is a category for this place I would put it somewhere in the range from ambulance chasing attorney to snake charmer. This place has some good people working there it's just not the Doctors. The PA I was assigned was a wonderful caring lady but unfortunately the place she works for sucks. A last word of advice...check your billing paperwork sent to your insurance company, mine finally dropped this place because of ..from what I understand were over billing..I guess $1000.00 to walk in the door just wasn't enough..

Mitch Tarver

I had no problem with Dr Gallardo then after 3 or 4 visits in a row I realized that I kept being deferred to a pa or a nurse so I ask about her and it wasn't until then that they disclosed to me that she had been fired. From that point on I never seen a dr again my pain was being managed by some dr behind closed doors that didn't even know what I looked like. I believe these people are all about the money and could care less about patient care. DON'T GO THERE

I have had back and neck pain for years. In the past couple of years I have had 4 disc's replaced in my neck, 2 lumbar surgeries, numerous injections and burned nerve in both the thoracic and lumbar areas. All of that and no pain relief. Then I met Dr. Kelly and after the first office visit and a new plan of treatment my pain has been drastically reduced and am sleeping better than I have in years. l finally have hope for the future. Thank you so much Dr. Kelly.

I love this clinic! The Dr's take time to really listen to U & do their very BEST to help U deal with whatever pain you're experiencing! So far, my favorite Dr's are Dr. Kelly & Karie Stewart, ARNP! I have seen Karie Stewart the most on my monthly visit! Everyone who works there, from the Front Desk Personnel, Dr's, Nurse's, Lab Tech's, Accounting etc are all super friendly & very helpful to all patients! I have recommended these Dr's & Clinic to many friends/family & they love them also! I will continue to recommend them from now on as well as remain a patient for as long as necessary! They accept most all insurances except BCBS PPO Federal because BCBS dumped the clinic in 2017!! So, I had to dump BCBS for 2018, after being with them for 30yrs! Keep up the great job Oklahoma Pain Center & Staff! And, thank ya'll for all you've done for me since 2007!! Love ya'll!

Dr. Lynch and the staff at OPC are ahhhh-mazing! Nurses are always friendly and empathetic. And Dr.Lynch is incredible. He always takes time to talk and really listen, instead of just rushing me out, and tries to understand my issues. I won't go anywhere else!
