Evidently these people don't know how to deal with people with mental illness. I'm not proud of it but I suffer from PTSD and severe bipolar disorder. My nerves literally get so bad I get physically sick to the point of hospitalization. I'm in need of a c5-6 fusion and have spurs on the site. I showed up at 845 early and I immediately told the staff about my nerves and that it being my first surgery I was very nervous, to the point I was becoming physically ill, that I hadn't slept in over 24 hours. 4 and 1/2 hours and a panic attack later Dr qualls tells me that since I go to pain management. That he will be doing surgery but not handling my care. I explained that I was afraid and that my normal meds didn't really help bc I had been on them for some time and that I was really apprehensive about having a serious surgery and not knowing if I'd be in more pain than I can handle. So I still need surgery but it most certainly will not be with Dr qualls. And after this experience I honestly don't know if I can ever put myself through that again. I will say the nursing staff are very kind and caring.

Dr. Stevens & staff are the best people I have had experience with in the medical field. Staff went above & beyond working with my insurance company. Dr. Stevens did such a wonderful job performing my back surgery that I was relieved from the years of pain I had been in instantly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone & everyone. Again best experience of a lifetime. It has only been 1 week since surgery and I feel AMAZING

My main problem with Dr. Qualls Stevens is getting his office to return my calls. Twice I have called his nurse and left a message and it was over 48 hours before I received the first call and so far haven't received the second and most important call. I also never received a call telling me when I had surgery. he told me it would be in the next week, he hoped. The hospital called asking me to come in for an MRI and when I asked why, she said they needed it before surgery on Tuesday. Otherwise, I would not have known.

Dr Qualls performed 3 different procedures for me in 2015. He was a careful and considerate doctor who took a great deal of time answering questions and informing me and my wife. His entire office staff is completely competent, gracious and professional. I would highly recommend Dr Qualls in the unfortunate event you need a neurosurgeon.
