Run from this place we were lied to they couldn’t get the insurance right at any point through this thing and they can’t get there billing correct either. I was however told that if I had had no insurance they could help waiv some expense but since they had been paid close to 1m they could do nothing I am beginning to see why we have so many dead beats in this country they tend to do a lot better than those of us who try to be productive.

Hands down the BEST care I could have imagined for my son! Everyone was attentive to his needs and my concerns. Amazing team of Physicians and Nurses!

jonny morales

Waited over 4 hours just to get into a room.

Keysha Dejesus

The nurses were very nice but unfortunately one of the gave me bags to store my breast milk in that weren't sanitary I had to throw away a days worth of milk they also did not inform me that my daughter had high blood pressure. The food from the cafeteria wasn't of my liking & the room service people were either extremely nice or extremely rude.

STIRK STIRKLAND

I had a great experience. The room was clean and quiet, the staff was personable and attentive, not slow. Even the food was good. I went in for a severe Multiple Sclerosis attack. I left in much better condition. That’s all I hoped for. I see complaints that sound like they’re expecting a resort hotel. This is a good HOSPITAL.

thats best doctors at wfbu..

I had small intestine resection surgery performed by Dr. Waters and his team 11 days ago. From the first appointment meeting Dr. Waters and "just Brian" (kids nicknamed his PA), to checking in for surgery, to pre-op and recovery, I cannot complain about a single thing. My only regret is that I can't remember everyone's names to thank each and every one of them for taking care of me. So many people were involved in my care throughout the surgery and afterward in recovery. I do remember my nurses and cna's from 9CC! If any of you are reading this; Lisa, Zach, Shannon, Angel, Sue, and Megan -- you guys made recovery as good as it could get

Checked into the ER on 10/08/2018 and had to wait 4 1/2 hours, in severe pain and could not sit...No compassion from staff when I asked if they could find me a place to lie down. They said lie down in a chair which had arms. Can you believe that? It was cold in the ER and I had to stand for the entire time. It was 2 AM before I was sent to a room. Biggest nightmare ever experienced. The entire time was a disaster. No explanation from anyone of the diagnosis. NEVER AGAIN...I'll drive to DUKE before returning to this Hospital. Sent correspondence to Patient Relations but no satisfactory explanation. Don't patronize this HOSPITAL.

I had my 3rd back surgery here. I was left in recovery and not in a private room, laying on a flat wood board for 3 hours with no pain medication after waking up from the anesthesia. After getting my records, all the surgery notes were vague. I understand that falls under the doctor, this hospital failed in many ways to accommodate after the surgery I had. Wasn't worth the price tag!

I am a first responder waiting in lobby with my wife and a man fail out and started have a a seizure and it took the nurses 25 minutes to get out of the back to help me with him and now me and my wife are waiting after 4 hours to find out if her ankles are sprung or broken they did x-rays 4 hours ago and nobody has said anything I hate this hospital the nurse's and doctors are very hateful and rude my wife is 34 weeks pregnant and it takes them this long to help her this is not right at all these damn doctors don't no nothing

They nearly killed my husband! After a successful surgery on Thursday to remove a carcinoid tumor in his chest due to Cushing disease, he was discharged on Saturday midday. By Saturday evening we were in the ED twice - first for abdominal pain, later for back pain. He could not eat or drink. All they did was to give him pain meds, the first visit they also did an IV for fluids. We went home on Monday, still not eating or drinking, still in pain. 2 more visits to the local ED before the hospitalist said something was going on. Called the ED at Baptist only to be told the hydrate him and send him home. They refused to go further or take him back. He then called Forsyth Medical Center which agreed to take him. One test at Forsyth confirmed he was in adrenal crisis. The endocrinologist he was seeing never saw him after his surgery, even though knowing for a long time the tumor was pumping cortisol into his body. His adrenal glands were not working and no one tested his cortisol level, even though they were taking blood. Come to find out some symptoms of adrenal crisis is back and abdominal (and leg) pain and it is deadly.

Bathrooms are nasty, mom is going to be admitted and food ordered over an hour ago. Ridiculous it takes that ling for a patient to get food.

Gary Justice

I cannot express the great love and kindness that has been given me at the hospital. My neurologist and icu staff and each employee that was in contact with me was fabulous. My God Bless you all in Christ name Gary Justice

I am so disappointed with this hospital. The sad thing is back in 1986 my grandfather had double bypass heart surgery and it was awesome to him recover as quickly as he did from that major surgery, and to see it digress as to what it is today. On the other hand, my fiance has nothing but problems with doctors not communicating with her or nurses making false accusations due to their non communicative skills. Living 170 miles from here one would think that my fiances specialist would have some sort of communication with this hospital but no that is too difficult. I cannot count the wasted appointments the insinuations that are made not to mention do not get your medication from the hospital pharmacy and then inadvertently have to be admitted to the hospital otherwise half of your medication will be missing when you get it back from being locked and secured. Save yourself and search for somewhere else to get your medical care.

Mary Martin

My experience w this facility was very good. From time of entry to discharge was great. Food outstanding , nurses very prompt ,very concerned about my care and comfort. Drs outstanding! Only one complaint, very rude nurse in recovery room. Over all a 5

The Cafe Bakery has the best healthy choices, customer service, and a variety of different teas! Also, the actual hospital is beyond amazing. The nurses are constantly checking on my grandma every five to ten minutes. I've never seen such a dedicated staff in my life that truly care for their patients.

Mike Kenworthy

We're working on a treatment for erythropoietic protoporphyria

Michelle

The staff at Wake Forest Baptist Health endure a lot. From irritable patients to people who are constantly in pain and can't help it. Yet their providers and nurses go above and beyond to deliver excellent care to both patients and their families. I had neurosurgery in 2010 and the attention of the doctors, nurses, and receptionists was something I will never be able to thank this organization enough for!

Jennifer Stegall

I want to cry just writing this review. This was the absolute worst hospital experience I've ever had in my life. I had heart surgery there on the 3rd. The staff is horrible. Except for 1 nurse the day time nurse while I was there. The room was filthy. Still had old dirty linens from patient before me in the room. Bathroom floor had blood on it toiletries opened. I was a HEART PATIENT pushed the called button for chest pain after 10 mins my husband had to go get somebody. Then took them another 10 mins to locate an EKG machine. The kept confusing my meds. The day time PA was rude! Horrible place. I don't about the other floors but room the floor with room 772 in the Ardmore is AWFUL.

Chris Wall

Very good hospital. I have always had really good experiences here

Michelle Phillips

My clinical Drs are very thorough and nice!!!

Sao'La Champada

I had a great experience, had to take my father to emergency. The people are very dedicated and hard worker to make sure he is taken care of. Great service !!!

Lisa Sturz

The staff moves with professional care and respect. They treated my son's wounds skillfully, but more important, they treated his heart with love and understanding. What could have been a nightmare turned into a blessing.

Jean Pittard

Best hospital ever. Would rate higher than a 10.

Courtney Young-Spears

I have been a patient at WFBH for over a decade. Due to my medical issues, I have had 28 surgical procedures there. Their ONLY saving graces are Dr. Gregory Waters and Dr. Lisa Cassidy-Vu. Here's the bad: The pre-op nurses are a nightmare 98% of the time. If you have any problems with IV placement at all, they immediately get punitive toward you. My husband is a medical professional (and former Baptist employee) and he actually watched a nurse lie and switch out the requested 22 that she told us she was using for an 18 that immediately blew my vein (which she was told it would do). This was for a simple soft tissue abscess drainage that does not require blood products. On my most recent surgery on April 18, we encountered this nurse again. She was brought in by the nurse that was setting me up after I mentioned my IV placement issues. I again requested the 22, and asked that she please give me a 3 count as she placed it. Both nurses began acting oddly, and the nurse from before started beating on my hand so hard you could hear it echo in the bay. I have fibromyalgia in addition to Crohns so this is particularly painful. The 2nd nurse leaves, and comes back with a grey box that she says 'will help with the IV'. I wasn't sure if it was a doppler, because it didn't look like one and she didn't use it at first. The 1st nurse (who is STILL beating my hand) pulls out the 22, and my husband moves closer to the foot of the bed to watch. This is the same action she made the previous time when she switched the guage on us. Then, without warning, she jams the IV in. No 3 count as I requested, not gentle, nothing. I burst into tears, as she HURT ME. There is also blood splattered all over the blanket. The 2nd nurse dips in with something, and pops back after a second, talking about my blood suger being in normal range. I'm still crying and upset, but manage to ask her what she is talking about: I'M NOT DIABETIC. She responds that she saw insulin needles on my chart. I explain that I am given those for my B12 shots. Her response: 'Oh. Well, I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO READ YOUR MED LIST.' Again, this was not the ED. This was not an emergency surgery. They simply didn't bother. Now, I'm being billed for an unnecessary test. I called Service Excellence, and I'm told that it takes up to 45 days to investigate. Then, I get a bill that week.....for a doctor visit from a year ago. I run dual insurance, so I check my EOB online. It says I have no further responsibility. My second insurance is Medicare. I call them and they say WFBH can't legally do this. I report that to billing and they say they will investigate....in 30 days. 30 days later, I check back. Now billing says they are still investigating, but I have an ADDITIONAL bill for a surgery from a year ago.....that the EOBs say (again) that I don't owe. Billing, when questioned, says insurance has up to 2 yearsto pay a claim and that is the reason it is just cropping up now. EXCEPT THE EOBS SAY WFBH WAS PAID BACK THEN. So what's the real reason? The real reason is that WFBH wants money to compete with Novant. Just look around the city. It's a competition of who has the bigger health system. It makes the patients suffer. They put up a shiny facade while the interiors look like garbage. They blocked off parking in front of Janeway Surgical Services in November of 2016.....and have done nothing to it in almost 3 years. Some of the research buildings downtown didn't even have usable water because they kept the existing pipes when they renovated the old tobacco buildings. They probably still don't. And don't forget the scandal from last year with those cancer patients. That doctor was the chair of the Pathology department. The bottom line is, don't walk....run from WFBH. I am, just as soon as I can. I spent all day trying to sort this mess, and am probably going to spend most of today on it too. Don't land in my shoes.

I have different feelings about how I was treated here after a very traumatic car accident, but my children were treated wonderful. They were given the best care that they could get. We still receive cards asking how my daughter is doing. I on the other hand was treated differently by doctors and nurses. I had a few very serious injuries and some not as serious. But that did not matter to some. I was moved around a few times because I kept having other complications arise. I did have one staff tell me I need to work on getting better, because I could not stay in ICU forever. Some of my treatment was a little extreme for certain problems. I also had nurses and doctors get upset with me when I refused to have surgery one morning, because of how sick I was the night before. Also the fact that a nurse refused to call someone else in to draw my blood that same night and spent two hours by herself poking at me. I'm glad I refused the surgery, because the sickness I was feeling was actually something serious enough that could have killed me had I had the surgery. There were a few good nurses who went above and beyond to help me during my stay. But, I do not recommend any floor that has student nurses who will be assisting you. I had some rude students. One told me I could do it myself and she wouldn't help me get my cup. My wrist was broke and wrapped up to my elbow therefore I could not reach my cup on the table. This is when I was on the cancer floor for two nights. So it's a matter of how simple or serious your treatment will be as to how you'll be treated

Rooms never cleaned at all. Trash not taking out. Nurses and staff members open up supplies and just leave trash right where they opened it.

A very professional, caring and clean hospital. Jus' keep in mind that its a hospital and there are times when it's very busy, which is understandable.

Came for a mental evaluation, lasted 7 hours and costed me $717...and we wonder why so many people don't go get checked out for their problems?

My disabled father-in-law was taken via ambulance at 9:30pm Sunday night. We were contacted by his senior living home. After calling for several hours trying to find info, my husband and I talked to several unhelpful receptionists who wouldn’t put us through to anyone outside of the admin staff-who cannot share any info. Finally, I secured a babysitter and rush the 45minutes to the hospital. Once there I had to wait in the ER waiting room for 25 minutes until I could go back. The communication while there is fantastic. Perhaps the medical care is as well. The problem is, we could not be with the patient 24/7. My husband was working out of town and I was the only one available and yet I have 2 toddlers. My FIL was in the ER, neuro ICU, and neuro while there. He was also working the social worker, PT and OT. He is disabled and cannot speak. I left 3 family members phone numbers on the white boards, requested them to call me whenever there was a change, our numbers are in the chart, and yet not one of us received a call for the duration of his stay. We were not communicated to when he left ICU. We were not communicated with when he finally passed his swallow test. We were not n Contacted by the social worker who was to find a nursing home for him when he was discharged. Now, he is at the hospital waiting for the social worker to make phone calls for an open bed-why wasn’t this done last week? The kicker is, that even though I would call and request info (and my name is on the chart of people to contact), the medical staff wouldn’t share anything. But when a family member who is NOT on the chart and not cleared for medical Information was visiting-she was told everything. Not his son, not his wife. While there, medical students, nurses, and other staff would come rushing in to ask questions, “I need to know the full extent of his medical history,” “I need to know his complete seizure history.” “I need to know x,y, and z.” And yet NOBODY picked up the phone to call. Not one. The doctors didn’t call. The nurses didn’t call. The social worker didn’t call. The PT/OT didn’t call. If you are able to be with your family member and speak for them 24/7....perhaps you will think this is a wonderful place. If you are a patient and can speak for yourself, perhaps you will be fine. BUT when the patient is unable to communicate......find a different hospital. This was the absolute worst medical we have ever seen-and this is from a family of a man who was been a stroke patient for 30 years and has 1-3 long stays at a hospital every year. I hope their policies change. Picking up the phone and communicating with the family of a disabled man who cannot speak for himself or has the cognitive ability to understand what is happening....I mean....shouldn’t that be an expectation?

Nurses were great. Couldn’t get outta bed and want to go home. I’m exscaping tomorrow. Don’t stop here

They killed my brother, be careful where you go and who you see.

Very good place and so far the staff is friendly

Andrea Mewhinney

Preferable to area regional facilities. Well trained, empathetic staff.

April Esposito

Why is it that Hospitals have the dirtiest bathrooms with no toilet seat covers.

Tonya Pack

Most disturbing of all medical attention any where. My daughter was seen for a gun shot in her left pinky toe. They sent her home with antibiotics and pain medication. Told her to see her family doctor in a week. It has been less than a week, I took her to her doctor to only be told there was nothing they could do. She has bone fragments in her toe and a open sore but since Baptist did not do there job it has to heal up on it's own. No stitches no straightening of the toe nothing. RIDICULOUS!!!!

Jamie Shelton

Very good place for u and ur loved ones..

I am in this hospital now for pnemonia and I have been in pain for 3 days with no releif

Dennis Hines

Outstanding staff and service. They have taken great care of my mother.

Michelle Hankins

Disappointed ☹️ Had an appointment today only to be sent back home and return next week. Hope maybe things will go as planned.

WARNING! Medicare fraud, if you have Medicare you WILL be given the run around, your questions WILL NOT be answered, you WIll BE trapped in this hospital for days with NO clue what is going on, and procedures will be scheduled but NEVER done, the food is beyond horrible, the floors are sticky, and filthy, complete lack of security, any one can wander around anywhere. I have NEVER seen a hospital like this, we were horrified when we arrived to see my mother as her condition was worsening, and the lack of communication between staff and doctors was like the story's you only see in the news. I cannot stress enough to PLEASE, for your loved ones to do research, deep research for reviews such as this one are buried deep.

jeff jaeger

Best surgeons in the world. Best nurses in the world. Best ICU in the world. God bless all the caring, dedicated health care providers at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Vernon Wyatt

I simply don't understand why, in the Emergency Room, those whom are moving slow, as well as those who are not moving at all, will not assist those who are moving fast and doing all the work to get the patients taken care of:(

Rick Wilson

Great hospital and doctors and staff.

Elias Castrejon

Bad service.!!

Kayla Dean

I've been waiting for 4 hours in the waiting room of the emergency department in immense pain. They say I still need to wait a few more hours. Some people have been here waiting longer than I have. There are no empty beds. I'm never coming back to this hospital.

Ashley Victoria

I am not fond of judgemental people. I can say most of the medical staff is courteous. But I absolutely feel as if family was misdiagnosed as well as judged by looks. They made my other half feel completley uncomfortable and discrimination isn't the word to use. If you work in the medical field you cannot judge apon appearances and or your opinion. Also in the medical field it is not only inappropriate but unprofessional to exhibit attitude to any client. It's also pretty illegal. My other half really needed this rehab program but felt so uncomfortable with one staff member getting literally in his face we've decided to discontinue use of this facility. You shouldn't be at a job for a paycheck, especially when your dealing with patients who are recovering from being critically ill.

Our son got in to a car accident and died at the scene this hospital would not allow us to identify our sons body and told us that was the police job we were told he was an examiner case

Brad Bullock

Nice place. Went to Eye Center for procedure, and all was good other than the wait.

Had a large cyst removed from right humerus bone and bone chips put in to strengthen the thinned bone. Few months later I'm in for a second surgery because of a bone infection at the site. Now I got really bad weakness and pain when using my right arm. I can't even hold a cell phone without symptoms. I'll be doing physical therapy to hopefully "re-balance" the area. Surgeries were done by Scott Wildon. If only he had taken the early infection symptoms seriously I would've had a much better outcome. Now my shoulder/upper arm looks deformed and is very problematic. I had another surgery performed on my

My son found out he had liver failure and has been going to Wake for 4 months now. Each time he goes in the ER, he has a doctor tell him "He dying! YES we know this, we are trying to fight! My son wants to stay alive! I was with him one night about a month ago and this doctor for the ER came in and told him he didn't have long and he needed to talk to the Chaplain!" and sign up for hospice! Then later she came in and said she looked at his chart wrong! Just last week he went to the ER without me and the supervisor over the ER got his to sign a DNR! What The Hell! My son is trying to fight for his life and they are trying to get him to give up! What kind of doctors are these?! The reason for doctors are to help us not help us give up! Yes my son is sick, but he still wants to fight! I always heard this hospital was the best, now I find out it the worst! No compassion! Don't go to Wake Forest, unless you are wanting to give up! Then they will help you!!!

Susan Hartl

I received great care here. The staff are knowledgeable and have good bedside manner.

Actually Ramxi

Thanks for saving my family members life

Himeka Mcfadden

This place saved my baby sister life....twice. I owe them everything. They really care about the patient not just making money. Thank you so much

Jason Perry

My best friend is currently there and just had open heart surgery and the nurses let her call button ring for over 2 hours when she needed to go to the bathroom. Then when she tried to go to the bathroom on her own, fell and cracked her head open, the nurse told her it was her own fault. Do NOT go to this hospital. The nurses obviously do NOT do their jobs.

R B

Billing department screwed me out of $725.50 by entering the wrong billing code. Check you bills closely!!! Very disappointed with this. At least my Doctor is great but at what price?

Jennifer Chilek

Well coordinated care with an emphasis on the patient. Excellent, caring physicians, nurses, and staff.

Terry Barton

This hospital cured my neck and head cancer 2 stage 4 lumps 35 radiations 2 good doses chemo 16 months later still in full remission.

William Rarick

Baptist is the best! Great staff. Nurses are the bomb. Care about your time. Love Baptist!

Larry Pranger

Had 5 of 5 wake Forest Baptist university doctors. Either the school graduates bad doctors or wake Forest is NOT a good medical facility. Take your choice.

Jenny Caldwell

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could! My dad had surgery done on his neck a couple weeks ago and the surgeon did good but the nursing staff was awful! He only got his bedding changed once from Monday-Saturday, no offer to help with his bathing, and when asked for ice that was approved by doctor, was never brought to him by nurses. The BIGGEST issue I had was the fact he kept telling the nurses that his tongue hurt and their response was “oh that’s normal” and never once checked his tongue to make sure. Come to find out once he gets home and looks for his self, he had thrush on his tongue which was making it hard to swallow, and this could have easily been treated by a nurse! Pure laziness and very unprofessional!

Mark Cumber

Billing department has managed to lose my electronic payment. Sent copy of cancelled check, still cant find it. Check posted to WFB account on 6 JUN. Cant believe they are still calling me telling the can't find the payment..this isnt the first time either...so loong WFB

My daughter in law just got a bill for this place. We are all the way in Gastonia. Never even been to Winston Salem. There's some fruad going on here.

Lana Jordan

Rude and idiotic. Not trustworthy. My father was hit by a car while riding a bicycle. He went to the ICU, and was eventually moved to a hospital room, then transferred to a different hospital. They took care of him physically, but not emotionally. Everyone had a severely pessimistic tone when they spoke about him, right over his body. And every bit of communication we had with doctors/nurses/employees at Baptist was disjointed. The communication with our family could not have been worse, really. At one point they were telling us we should probably pull the plug, so we thought we had lost our father. Then 15 minutes later the doctor said he'd mixed up the patients. Our Dad would likely recover, to walk and talk etc. Now he is slowly recovering at a much better, more nurturing facility.

Ian Garvey

DISGUSTING, DEPLORABLE AND EXTREMELY UNIMPRESSIVE ER DEPARTMENT. RUDE AND INCOMPETENT STAFF. AN ABSOLUYE NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE MY FAMILY IS STILL GOING THROUGH.I recently just left a very long and detailed 1 star review of my experience at Baptist and within 5 minutes it had been removed. This hospital is obviously too concerned with their star rating on Google than actually doing thier job and taking care of patients. AVOID THIS HELLHOLE/DEATH TRAP AT ALL COST. DO NOT BELIEVE THE FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS. ANYTHING ABOVE 2 STARS, DO NOT BELIEVE IT.

Brian Martin

Terrible experience waited three hours just to be told it was going to take a lot longer just to be seen... absolutely the worse experience especially when you need to see a doctor

jorge jr gonzalez

Neat Hospital in North Carolina, friendly staff, great Drs.

terry hagan

Doctor's and staff are great make you feel at ease surgery was done in the time told vvery clean world class

Micheal Jonas

Should be able to put "0" stars!!!!! Horrible COMPANY!!! Not interested in anything but seeing how much they can get away with charging you! Avoid at all costs, because ALL COSTS will come from YOU!!! I'm leaving my Dr that I have been with for 22 years because these Greedy Money Grubbers bought them. What happened to preventing monopolies?!!!!

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SLOW AS HELL THEY ARE VERY UNORGANIZED! MY SISTER HAS BEEN SITTING HERE SINCE 12 smdh

Kaitlyn Hagaman

Due to kidney issues for the last 3 yrs I have resided in novant for a few 5-6 day stays and several emergency room visits there and at moses cone affliliated hospitals and hole in the wall hospital elsewhere. Yes when i went to Wake I did wait over 4 hrs but I was almost immediately admitted to Wake Forest Hospital and even in the emergency room I seen more doctors than you ever see anywhere else and you dont get a tums without seeing a doc 24 hrs within 20 mins the attention to the individual and their medical history and how to treat their condition and them better is a major difference. I didnt get much rest bc the actaul doctors come by all the time but everywhere esle ive been you feel like you are not the priority you are a nuisence on the other end of a oager to be answered sometime later with a nurse visit. They are really accepting to questions and always ask if you have any and never talked down to me. So you may complain about emergency room wait but they get right to the bottom of it as soon as they can get you back there and as opposed to a week stay i was able to leave in 3 days and be with my daughter in much better condition than the times I left novant after a week. If you want emergency room novant is a good choice but especially if you know you have a long term condition with unsuccessful or failed treatments I would not hesitate to wait for as long as it took. I have my first outpatient appointment with their nephrologist today.

StlrChk Forlife

I switched all of doctors to WFBH. High quality care. Hospital rooms are extremely clean. Housekeeping came by atleast once a day if not twice. Nursing staff was fast in responding to my needs and would contact my doctor immediately if needed. I recommend them to everyone.

Robert Bayly

Well it's almost like a mousetrap maze,.!?? So many towers, and elevators,.. in all areas, it was hard to navigate, for us, being here, these first few visits, but the nurses, and doctors, were great, and my sons,..3rd degree burns, on 20% of his body, are beginning to look better, afterabout a month, of visits,.!! We are grateful for that..!!! Thank you all,.. Dr.,..Holmes, and Dr. Williams,... and his nurses, in the 8 days, and 4 return visits, that it took, to release him.!! Thanks to all of the surgeons, as well.!!

Tasha Howell

Dr.GoCu helped in hiding a death of an infant child. Refuses to give the mother the second autopsy report... After the Autopsy specialist Mary.G spoke to the mother and states her son was killed of head injury and overdose, telling the mother that if she was unaware of him being dropped or if the lethal amount of medicine given to this infant... She needed to contact the Dr on duty the night of his death... Which leads back to Dr.GoCu... This child was in the NiCu since birth... So you tell me what seems normal about any of this! This hospital may not even be open for practice when we are finished with this mess!! If Dr.GoCu is your child's head physician RUFUSE it!

Matt Miller

Worn, old, confusing. I had a bad experience and am pulling my body donation in favor of Duke. Just a messed up, low caliber place in general. Lots of good employees but infrastructure, rooms, technology old and in disrepair. I won’t be back. Promise. In my opinion their arrogance, inattention to detail, low staffing, inadequate pharmacy damn near killed me. Closest I have come to death. All preventable, all ignored.

Eric Weiss

The medical and support staff are superior. However having to deal with finance is horrible. My insurance completely covers me. I get bills and I call and it's corrected. One time I paid by accident and it's become a complete fiasco, they sent multiple letters asking for payment even after they deposited the check. They "keep " loosing or can't find" the information I sent. They have even lost the canceled check I sent (registered mail). Fantastic place to be cared for.

Physician care, knowledge base, expertise, skill level, patient rapport, empathy, and any other quality needed for the making of a qualified professional medical caregiver are not visible or demonstrated in the people who are attempting to practice what they call medicine at Wake Forest Baptist medical center. After two admissions to their facilities, both times transported from a rural hospital for what was supposedly to be improved care, the care given was subpar on all levels. The only department that i could give praise to would be housekeeping who kept the room clean. Nurses did not follow standard of care protocols on many levels. Physicians did not review the chart nor familiarize themselves with the daily response to their treatment before seeing the patient which should be done before entering a patient's room. A lack of respect for the patient as an individual; coordinating the care in response to the entire patient and not just body parts; seeking out answers rather than justifying what they could not find; i could go on. If these are the doctors of our future, we are in deep trouble. The physicians mentoring these interns took no interest in their scope of practice which was evident by the lack of knowledge that was presented by the team that were responsible for my care. Having worked in a teaching facility known for excelling in excellence for many years, i am familiar with the level of expertise that it takes to produce quality medical professionals. Wake Forest falls very short of this mark. I hope i am never in need of extended medical care again. If so, if my only choice is Wake Forest Baptist medical center, i will decline transfer and take my chances at a rural hospital.

Shelley Cavanaugh

What a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL place. Doctors treat everyone from all walks of like the same! They care more about healthcare rather than money!

David Souther

The worst of the worst. Rude unknowledgeable staff...their nurses are the worst...i would start by firing entire ER staff, and hire some people with expertise and compassion...every drug OD in the region goes there Student doctors wet behind the ears ..running a scam with Wilkes ER...just go to Hugh Chatam and if more comprehensive care needed straight on to Forsyth

Brent Hughes

The staff is great the doctors and nurse are such a joy to be around I'm here not only for my lord and savior he gave them th knowledge

Carly E. Adams

Needless to say, this hospital is not what I expect nor is it what I have heard "great" things about. My grandmother is here because she had a stroke and not only was she not hooked up to an IV for the longest time but a very sparky nurse was extremely rude to my sister who also posted a necessary review which got deleted for some reason. This place is unacceptable and I won't be bringing my loved ones here if they're ever in crisis. Also, we waited over a day for MRI results which I feel was ridiculous and uncalled for. Please, take your loved ones or yourself elsewhere.

Carolyn Martin

My dad's 3 visit here in a little over a year. Good hospital and staff

debi j-p

This is about the billing system. We have faithfully made payments every month. I suppose they don't like the fact that sometimes we cannot make large payments due to the fact that we had to keep my husband's car taking him to work every day and more of our finances were needed there. My main point is that we were faithful in making some kind of payment EVERY month. Yet, they send our account to a collection agency???!!! As it turned out there were 3 billers involved in the various tests my husband and I took and no matter how faithful and on time our payments were, apparently not enough for them and all 3 got sent to debt collectors. Now we have them all combined in one under the accounting service called Clear Balance. I SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE TRYING TO DO EXACTLY THAT, but, no, they have to go through debt collectors first???? NOW my doctor wants me to talk to a surgeon. I refuse. I'm in God's hands now while I continue to pay on last year's bills.

Steve Somebodyinsky

Avoid Avoid Avoid this Hospital Network of Physicians if you want to receive care based upon your health needs and not their needs and silly procedures that put their best interest first and not yours. Case in point: if you are in need of seeing your PCP and he/she is out for a few days, vacation or a month or two for other reasons they will not allow you to see another Doctor do to their procedure of only allowing him/her to see you. This means you have to go to Emergency room for something routine so they can charge your insurance more for it.

Shay Davis

I worked at this location for several years. I had also worked at "the hospital down the street". This is by far the superior hospital in Winston. The health care team is much more knowledgeable and they do everything they can to ensure the patients get what they need. This hospital is MUCH cleaner than "the hospital that shall not be named". I always told my family and friends that during an emergency, even if I was closer to the other hospital, take the time to get to Baptist because they are top notch.

Christopher Barnett

Saved my leg, great doctors

Lucy Gibbs

My husband is up there now. He is getting the very best treatment. He started off on Admire Tower til a room in Reynolds got opened, as soon as it was opened, clean and ready they got him up there. EVERYONE I MEAN EVERYONE HAS BEEN PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON EVERYTHING THEY HAVE SAID AND DONE TO MY HUSBAND! Not one nurse left him in pain!! The staff is amazing from secretary to doctors. I am so thankful my husband got transferred to WFBMC.

Brandon Keiffer

Go there for my head aches every 3 months and they are awesome I live in Lexington so up 285 for 30 mintues is worth the drive

Garrett Carter

Slowest ER I’ve ever been to.. 2 broke bones in my arm and excruciating pain=1.5 hour wait in waiting room

inez edmonds

The doctors are awesome to my little boy..

Cranford's Refrigeration,LLC

They treated me great, the nursing staff was awesome, this hospital is first class Thanks for everything yalla did

Anselmo Hernandez

My family member was waiting for 3 hrs and never got in . Thanks for all you do group. y'all will be next in line .

Jack Meister

Was brought in by ambulance with chemical burns to eyes. Put in waiting room. Sat there for 3 hours with no flushing of eyes. Put in exam room to sit and wait some more. Told nurse we were leaving. Got up left went to different hospital who knew the sense of urgency to flush eyes. Now I am being billed for treatment I didn't receive. Nurse said he gave me eye drops which he didn't. All he did was escort us out. Bill for no treatment $458.01

Leigh Nelson

Very rude and unprofessional... I understand the ER can be a very busy place and with this weather short staff. The nurses need to learn how to answer a phone and talk to people. I've had to call 3 times still no straight answer and 1st they hung up on me while I was telling them who i was and with ... 2nd picked up for short sorry busy call back in 20min ... 3rd waited a hour and nurse picks up i tell who i am what's going on trying to leave info and they come back short again with all answers and then tell me oh I don't know I'm not over that person his nurse is in a room busy ... really I'm with a facility trying to see how he is doing and leave info for yall incase you need to get ahold with us .

Laurie Murray

my daughter has a rare form of cancer a 1 in 5 billion type of cancer, we went to Wake forest because they seem to care, that is until they messed up her dose of the chemo drug to protect her bladder and she ended up with Cystitis. we left after 5 rounds of Chemo because it was making the tumor grow, then when we went back to see the Dr. for a her CT scan , he pretty much just told us that she should just contact hospice , she is only 20 yrs old and that was the worst experience I have ever had with a DR. I would not send my Dog there.

Penny Carter Stokes

Was take there after accident. The after care has been nothing but bad. Had most things tranfured to different offices . I don't feel there care was up to par.

J C

Nurses are rude! Everyone walks around with an attitude! You will be waiting forever before anyone gives you any information! Don't waste your time here just go to Duke!

Loctite Fujimo

I was transferred from another hospital to Wake in Oct. During my 29 day stay there I went through hell. Finally have a tumor removed and was sent home. Only to end up right back in there not one time, but 3 other times. Each time they allowed me to be released I ended up in worse shape than when I went in there the first time. Even came home a week ago today after being released, and was in the ER within less than 12 hours because of a blood infection that Wakes staff sent me home with. Only to be transferred again, but I flat out refused to go back to WFBH again. Thank the lord Dr at CRMH got infection cleared up and I'm looking an feeling a lot better than before. I would NOT recommend Wake to anyone for medical treatment of any kind!!!

Detra Bennett

I’ve always heard good things but we have had the worst experience ever at this hospital. My husband had a Baja implant which fell out and then scheduled a second time. We were told to be here at a certain time and Dr. Gandalfi arrived an hour after his scheduled surgery. One nurse even asked him about his cancer when he doesn’t have cancer! They never know what’s going on! In fact he came to get medical records and they handed them over without a mention of ID!!!

lisa brown

Dr. Goldman was great. I go Monday to the cancer center. Everyone has been so good. Thank you

Bobbe Wright

Huge facility, kind a hard to navigate but parking was easy enough. Security check-in and helpful front desk.

Daniel Pozo

Wonderfull people, specially Kaity the nurse. She took good care of my eldery father.

Shirley Householder

My brother-in-law was sent to the emergency room by his family doctor. He has liver problems. He was in severe pain. He had a fever. The E.R doctor there told him because his platelets were too low & his potassium was too high they couldn't do anything for him. They said he needed an operation but Medicare wouldn't pay for it so they sent him home. What happened to caring about patients? Shouldn't the doctor find out why platelets are low & potassium is high & fix it?

Dawn Kilby

Great hospital when you need neurosurgeon. Excellent care in ICU.

Elinor McNair

Went to see the Ronald MacDonald room. Very nice place where the family members of a sick child can come and get a light meal and try to relax for a few minutes.

Tina Graham

I have had a few experiences here at wake forest. My mother in law was a patient last year. She received great care as long as she was on a unit such as ICU or the cancer unit. But once on a floor the care was not as good. Late getting breakfast or cleaning her up. If a family member had not been with her at all times care would not have been given. My daughter in laws farger is there now. He was diagnosed with GBS. He can not move. She had to leave him to come home to take care of her children. He was moved to the floor out of the unit. It is now 1115 and he still has not had breakfast or been cleaned. He is wanting to leave. She is upset. Great doctors but poor floor care. This is 2 bad experiences with care on the floor

Christina

Poor care. They are doing a very poor job at training residents. I now avoid all Wake Forest medical school graduates and any doctor that did their residency at Wake Forest. After four days of negligent care in the hospital, I was sent home to die. They failed to diagnose. The attending said her job was not to diagnose, just stabilize patients and ship them out the door. Had I not received treatment elsewhere my family feels there is 100% chance that I would not have survived. My room was not cleaned the entire time I was there. What should terrify patients is I had an infectious condition and should have been on contact precautions. They risked other patients lives by not following safety guidelines. This hospital is a disgrace. The residents are not even learning basic skills. I saw a 3rd year resident in Internal medicine that was proud she was graduating in a few months but admitted to knowing nothing about different body systems and couldn't even use an otoscope.

Steph Grubb

WORST HOSPITAL RUN AROUND AFTER RUN AROUND!!!! I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SO AGGRAVATED AND FRUSTRATED AT A HOSPITAL SO WELL RENOWNED. THE NURSES DON'T COME INTO THE ROOM WHEN THE DOCTORS ARE THEY SO THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT'S GOING ON. THERE ARE TEAMS OF DOCTORS FOR EVERY DIFFERENT PART OF THE BODY AND THE ALTHOUGH YOU ARE TOLD THAT THE TEAMS WILL GET TOGETHER AND DECIDE WHAT TO DO, THAT IS NEVER DONE AND WHEN YOU ASK TO TALK TO A DOCTOR AND YOU WAIT AND WAIT AND IT NEVER HAPPENS. MY DAUGHTER AND MOTHER FINALLY HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL ADMIN. TO EXPRESS THAT MY FATHER WAS NOT PHYSICALLY ABLE TO BE DISCHARGED AND WE DEMANDED SOME ANSWERS. A DOCTOR FINALLY SHOWED UP BUT NO ANSWERS BECAUSE THEY STILL DON'T KNOW AND WANT TO DO MORE TESTS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, ESPECIALLY IF THE CARE INVOLVES AN ELDERLY PERSON. RIDICULOUS AND SO UNPROFESSIONAL IS THE NICEST THINGS I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

David Baker

Great hospital.. got total faith in them

Ethan MacKAy

Absolutely top notch care. The staff is incredible and has made my nearly two week stay very comfortable. Every step of the way I was kept informed of exactly what was going on with my care. The fact that I was not only included in, but seemed to be an essential part of the decisions about my care is an experience I haven't received before at other hospitals. Sure the ER can be a little busy sometimes, but that is typical of any decent sized hospital. Their triage process ensures that those who need to go back first will do just that. Unfortunately everyone in the waiting room thinks that they must be in the worst shape ever. (Sorry about the rant) Anyway, this is truly one of the best hospitals in North Carolina and their burn team is second to none.

Edward Pickert

Big big THANK YOU to the Burn Unit and the staff in 10 north. Spent 3 days in BU ICU and 3 days on the floor. While the hospital has some issues these nurses from charge to regular to student you couldn't be better. All the support people on that floor are warm and caring. I thank each and every one of you. ATTN: Labor & Delivery-100% satisfaction! I have had 4 children, first three at a different place...I decided to try wake because of the alternative rooms as I wanted an epidural free birth which I felt at the other “place” was not an option, I felt more of a burden there. HERE...WOW! Everyone was completely on board with my decision and supported me through it all, it was the best experience I have ever had I can not thank this team of nurses and midwives enough! From the time I arrived until I left, I was heard and I felt like I finally had a voice in my birth! The rooms are INCREDIBLE, they did intermittent monitoring (this was completely amazing I am extremely grateful I wasn’t forced to be hooked up to a machine during my birth!) I was able to move around and do what my body wanted /needed to get my beautiful baby boy out! The nurses were so amazing doing all they could to help me massaging my back rubbing my hair getting me wet cloths for my head/neck! Aftercare was also just as amazing...i was able to hold my baby skin to skin immediately and keep him for as long as I wanted. there no rush to do all the other stuff! I am going to specifically name the wonderful people involved in my special birth because they were that great! I give a special thanks to Kim Fleming, CNM. Kasey Sprinkle, RN. Leeann Carpenter, RN. Scarlett Adams, NA. Zelvia F, RN. Christie Laney, RN. No question this is the BEST place hands down to have your baby! God Bless this place!

Dawna Compton

My child has been seen here to manage a few chronic conditions for years. The quality of care is excellent, the providers are top notch, and the facility is great. Just a couple of issues. After 20 years being treated here, it is frustrating to have to fight with the hospitalists to get him on the right nutrition plan while in patient. Not like all his info isn't listed right there on Epic. They limit him when his prescribed diet is double portion and extra meals. This goes on for days when we are trying to get him to gain weight. The stupidest thing this hospital does is the security guard at the entrance on weekends and holidays. These are the times when the fewest visitors come to the hospital yet people have to jump through the biggest hoops. Guests are largely unchecked once passing that desk. Anyone can come to this hospital, say Thursday at 2pm, and bring all manner of nefarious items without being stopped, questioned, identified, or noticed. The weekend "security theater" is annoying, rude, and an embarrassment to this institution. I would have less of an issue if this was an everyday process but instead we are all bothered by a stupid process which does nothing to make things safer or better.

Eric Riddick

Was referred to an ENT surgical specialist named Dr. Drew Plonk, MD. Went to Plonkfor a consultation for endoscopic sinus surgery another specialist doctor in Charlotte referred me to PLONK, raving about how good PLONK is as a surgeon. I found PLONK unimpressive, overly conservative and rather indecisive acting. If you or your doctor are contemplating endoscopic sinusitis surgery for long-term, chronic history of sinusitis, GO ELSEWHERE.

Keisha Smith

If I could give 0 stars for customer support I would I drive over 40 mins twice to not be seen for being told a incorrect date or not given proper directions on how to get to the facility I've wasted gas money and time and they absolutely dont care

Annie Renee

After my boyfriend was paralyzed in a car accident he was transferred here. They took very good care of him and were so sweet. They made his life as easy as possible from what I saw… He said later he made some great friends while being in there. As far as how thorough they are, I wouldn’t really know.

Sandy Edwards

Do you think a hospital should turn you away when you need lung cancer surgery? I personally feel with the hospital being a non profit trauma center, should turn no one away....period Baptist Hospital turned me away on January 18, 2019, because I could not come up with $4,160, before the surgery on Jan. 24. They just canceled my surgery and I had to wait to file my taxes in order to apply for charity care. The financial assistant who turned me away sat and cried with me. This really caused me so much unnecessary stress and a lot of other issues. I lost a lot of weight from worrying how I was going to get the money to save my life. Not to mention I have an abdominal aorta aneurysm which can grow if under a lot of stress. Plus the lung cancer is growing at one millimeter a month. I just pray after I have my say with higher ups at Baptist Hospital - the policy will change. No one needs to endure the pain, stress, emotional anguish, etc. as i have for almost a month worrying how I was going to get the money to have this surgery and save my life. What is your take on hospitals turning people away if they can not pay at the time of services, if it means saving their life?

Laura Jane

This place is the reason I am alive today with very minimal brain damage, so I’m keen. I will probably be pulling from Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Fargen’s names when I name my children.

Christy Cromer

Took my son in, his 4th trip to the er in two weeks. Abdominal pain, chest pain, rapid heart rate. They registered him, then sent him to the waiting area. We sat for over 4 hrs, never saw a doctor. They were packing people in the waiting room and no one was being seen. People were there hours before us and they had not been seen either. I was completely disgusted in what we experienced tonight. Not sure what has changed, but this place has gone down hill.

Jackie Taylor

Guess you cannot give no stars because it will not post your review. Let it be know that your ACE department sucks. Have been after Samantha Rogers for help with our mother and we kept hitting brick walls. They could not get our mother out fast enough. Transferred her to a facility that rejected her! Guess she isn't your problem any longer.

We were previously with Cornerstone: we had excellent care and it was generally easy to deal with the insurance and billing end of things. Then Wake Forest Baptist Health bought them out. While we had the same providers, their Billing is absolutely inept. They cannot deal with dual insurance situations. And when my spouse had an car accident and our car insurance stepped in, it was an absolute nightmare. No other medical practice was this horrible. Cone, the EMS service, and others all dealt with our insurer (and gee, they were glad to get paid top dollar). But WF has showed no understanding and no willingness to work with us... even though they are getting paid. I will miss the care but there are other doctors and I won't have to deal with this insanity. (Arrgh, and it is even worse as I have a primary coverage at work and Medicare, and Wake has consistently overcharged me.) Basically their complaint department will do nothing for you. STAY AWAY FROM WAKE FOREST BAPTIST HEALTH there are other great doctors.

Tommy Casey

I had MRI on my back and information was sent to Wake Forest Neurology by my family physician approximately a week ago. I never heard anything back about an appointment. I called the Neurology office today and spoke with Stephanie and she said that they had reviewed and finished my information and she would set me up an appointment now. So I had to call to get the appointment - no one ever called me. So she is gathering information - then we get to insurance info and I told her my insurance info and it is a commercial insurance. She said that is not insurance. Well that is all I could see on the card was Benefit Plan Administrators. I ask if she could call my family physician office to get the insurance since she kept saying it was not right. She was rude! She said NO I can not call your doctor! She also said I can not make you an appointment until I get the correct insurance info! My family physician sent all the information and the insurance information to the Neurology office a week prior. So I said ok and goodbye and ended the call. This gave me a bad vibe with Stephanie and WFB Neurology . It appeared to me all she was interested in was money! She was not helpful at all even after I told her I could not see anything else on the insurance card. I have insurance and it pays...well... and Wake Forest Baptist is in the network. Carilion is also in the network so I will attempt to get in with them now. I guess Stephanie didn't want my business. Stephanie in my opinion lacks in customer service skills and was rude.

Gene Kindley

This hospital and staff are outstanding. I've had two surgeries at this hospital.

Bernie Zeller

Horrible! I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. We have had one bad experience after another. Came for a 3-5 day stay. Due to complications now 2 weeks and counting. If other options, I would encourage choose another.

Dave McCrostie

Outstanding care, wonderful staff. I just underwent a surgical procedure last Wednesday. From th moment I checked in until I checked out, the Doctors and Nurses at this facility were excellent. I’d like to specifically thank, Galina, Nicole and Juliette for their terrific bedside manner and ability to put up with this grumpy old man. This hospital is an hour and a half from my home, but if I needed care at this level in the future, this is the place I’d want to go.

Mec Fossette

Top notch! WF offers the best care, clean rooms, excellent testing/imaging services in the area. The physicians are very knowledgeable with a caring and professional manner and the nurses are very attentive and focused on providing quality care for their patients. This hospital is a dependable and reliable place when/if you are in need of care-services.

Steven DeGangi

I am here to see an old friend in the pastoral care organization. It is very sweet to return here to this huge and beautiful hospital. It gave me such insight and formation in clinical pastoral care. It also gave me daily insights into many caring doctors, nurses, and others.

natasha nelson

This is the WORST hospital I've ever been to. I feel like i'm in the 70's. No upgrade, nasty bloody walls/seats, garbage around garbage, I feel so dirty sitting on the furniture here.

Cody Church

I have polyps on my vocal cords, I have had 16 surgeries in my throat at several different hospitals and I was referred to here after the hospital in Lenoir was not able to help me. They took wonderful care of me and did a very good job with my surgery and chemo injections and follow up with me regularly. The only thing is waiting for a post op can sometimes take a month for me but I'm sure for more severe cases they get pushed faster

Charles Eggers

A family member is battling cancer. The stress and emotions facing this family member and all of our close family is tremendous. God has blessed our family with the most incredibly wonderful group of people including Doctor Ashburn, and nurses, and house keeping. Each individual member has made this difficult time less stressful. The entire body of empmoyees at this hospital have been a blessing from God. Thank you, each and every individual, for the professionalism and heart felt treatment showed to my entire family. This includes those who have no connection with my family but have assisted us with directions and gone out of their way to personally guide us to the correct locations as we approach this journey towards the many different treatments and surgeries. May God bless each individual for the care and hospitality towards my family. Truly a World Class Group Of Individuals.

Jamie McCain

Neat and clean. Employees are very polite and well informed.

Tammy Burnette

My mother has had a cancer procedure and is now cancer free, we are grateful and blessed. Four months after this procedure we had an emergency admittance and she was a patient for 22 days. We are home now are once again truly blessed and very thankful. Both times the experiences from the health care in them is facility was totally unacceptable, I have never seen health care so unprofessional, and so many employees who are just there for the pay check, and there were some I have no idea why they were there. There were a hand full of employees that were sincere and really knew what was going on and actually applied their knowledge for the proper health care for my mother. If any future procedures are needed in the future we will not be returning to this facility if at all possible.

jmw545

Have been a customer of WFBH for many years, and the medical care has been mostly excellent. But the finance/billing can be a pain. And the parking is confusing.

Michael Fortner

Ruby Ramirez the pharmacist here, is extremely racist against white people, I heard her conversation about a guy wearing a maga hat, after he left the room I heard her calling him a “white trash Honkey, and wish she didn’t have to serve his kind”

Christina Coe

This place is the saddest excuse for a hospital. With the exception of a couple good staff the rest are unhelpful and rude. My mother was in a car accident and just because she doesn't have insurance they are forcing her to leave. She is in critical care and can't use the right side of her body. She can't even use the bathroom by herself. Not to mention the fact that she's now homeless because her friend passed away in the accident they were in. The friend that she was living with after being domestically abused. No I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not if they want to live and are poor.

Crystal Ortiz

The staff is friendly and make sure you are understanding of procedures, action plans and process for roads to recovery.

Toria Everheart

Dr. Perry Shen was referred to me by my orthopedic surgeon when a mass was found which stopped the surgery of a hip replacement. They worked very fast and the first visit with Dr. Shen the mass was remove. Fortunately it was removed because it was large and deeper than expected. It was cancer, which had spread to the lymph node. Very impressed with Dr. Shen and his knowledge of oncology. He is kind and his temperment never changes. If a patient has to wait to go back to their appt, (which I never have) he more than likely has an emergency and I hope you would want his attention in the same situation. He is the best surgical oncologist in his field. My case is still in progress. Very blessed to have Dr. Shen as my Doctor. Thank you Dr. Shen!

James O'Donoghue

Have been professional and courteous... sometimes seem to move slow but that can just be me

Monica Mulling

The burn unit is outstanding. We spent 15 days (patient and spouse). The care received could not have been better.

Ryland Powers

Thought I would get the care that was advertised by a lot of people but I was so wrong. The P.A. didn't have a care one for my condition. Tried to show him MRI but he didn't want to see it cause he ask just why I was here and couldn't understand why my ruptured disc was causing me pain. And didn't want to help me just send me home in extreme pain with numbness in my back and right leg. When I told him the ER in Boone NC said that they had no specialist and that they would have to send me here anyway he questioned me not believing what I was saying. And the room I was in was the nastiest room I have ever been in with hair and scum buildup in every corner. Stay away from this ER!!

Terry Cobb

This is the best cancer treatment center on the East Coast

Bradley Deyton

Very terrible, all they care about is your money. My Nana has a hole in her heart. CMC main said they couldn't operate and her condition is terminal. We were referred to Baptist, which is a long 2 hour drive from our place with a woman with a failing heart, and the first visit lasted 10 minutes and the doctor said he couldn't operate. He referred her to a different surgeon is the same hospital and they made an appointment for a TEE. We went for that appointment and when we got there they said they had cancelled it. I kept it together and they "worked her in." Made another appointment for a CT scan and the day before they cancelled it, but called and rescheduled for the following Monday. We showed up 30 minutes early to have the CT done and they said the appointment was cancelled. I tried to talk to her doctor she was supposed to see but he was not there. We drove 2 hours there and 2 hours back for nothing. They canceled because she couldn't afford to pay the cost of the ct scan up front. The staff was very rude and just acts lazy. Dont go if you can get out of it.

rottyguy888

My husband was transported to the burn center from the ER in SC because his burns were so severe.. He arrived around 11pm at 3 am they discharged him without any pain meds or antibiotics minimal instructions. He didnt even have a shirt to wear. He was 2 hours from closest family member. Said there was nothing they could do for him. No insurance so out the door they sent him in the middle of the night. No follow up nothing.. I hope they get back as good as they gave.. $ days now and suffering.

Hannah Swicegood

Multiple bad experiences here. Most recent being today. Patient needed to use the restroom after surgery. Paged the nurse and let her know...waited 20 minutes and took her myself. Not once having a nurse come in the room to assist her to the restroom! I found blood that wasn't the patients or my own in 2 separate places in the room, one of which was ON THE BED!!!! That is sooo unsanitary and disgusting!!!! Way to make sure the room was clean for a patient who is highly susceptible to illness! Made me livid!

Catherine Russo

Professional, attentive, knowledgeable, caring staff in each of the many different departments I have visited and for the multiple surgeries I have had here recently. Had inpatient stays in the new Cancer Center and was extremely pleased at how quickly the medications were dispensed from the pharmacy and into the nurses hands and into mine. I have stayed in many local hospitals and it sometimes took days before my medications were on schedule and by then it was time to leave! There is state of the art equipment, supplies and I took comfort in knowing that the departments worked well together in transitioning referrals and follow ups. A few things that really stood out besides the complete control of medications with the pharmacy I wanted to note. One was how well prepared the doctors were of your medical case by the time you saw them. They had it committed to memory with no flipping of charts or fumbling of dates. It was astounding to me how one doctor referenced facts from over 30 years ago in my medical history that became important in the diagnosis of my symptoms. The other is the meals. You are given a "Room Service" menu and are free to order your meals at YOUR convenience and order the items you want, within the constraints of the diet your doctor ordered. So when you call to order your meal, they assist you and the choices were endless. It was wonderful to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, ethnic foods, and comfort foods when you felt like eating. Even though it is a huge complex and more doctors and staff in hallways than patients and families, it doesn't feel too clinical, yet it was extremely clean. Worth the drive in my opinion for quality EVERYTHING regarding your health.

Margaret Coleman

My Mom's life was saved at this hospital in 2013. She has received the best of care ever since. The people here are WONDERFUL. They truly CARE. Thank God for these people and this place.

Micol Clark

I have NEVER left a review for anyplace but the front desk does NOTHING to help you. I tired to find out where my dad's was and the front desk did nothing to help me. 6 people was up front just standing around and when I ask her to help she did nothing. I wasn't ruse I was just trying to find where my dad was located. She then called 3 officers to help me locate him. Never will i ever come back here!

Captain M

This is perhaps the most inefficient medical facility in the country. Patients are of no concern to the administrators at Wake Forest Baptist. Appointments are piled on top of each other as all processes are optimized to maximize billable time to the hospital’s perceived most valuable assets—the doctors while no concern whatsoever is given to the patients, who as the hospital’s customers SHOULD be considered the hospital’s most valuable assets. If you have a 10 minute appointment, plan on 90 minutes, with a double shanking of paying several dollars for parking. If you have a 1 hour appointment, you might as well take a half day off of work, plan on four hours, and expect to skip lunch because your lunch money (or more!) will be needed to pay for parking. If the healthcare market weren’t so screwed up and largely socialized, a terribly run facility like Wake Forest Baptist would either be forced to treat their customers with a modicum of respect to earn their business or it wouldn’t be in business at all. Administrators and doctors: Drop the hubris and difficult as it may be, try to put yourselves in your customers’ shoes.

Kathy Hagan

Wonderful and beautiful hospital very caring doctos and nurses all the staff is awesome

Audrey Branch

The burn unit here is awesome. The care my child recieved was exceptional. I will however mention that during our week in the facility I had to bring up some issues involving gossip among staff. The intensive care is no place for snide remarks and blame. Family members be mindful that if in the unfortunate event you would have to visit the unit, request that your family be treated with respect and privacy to some extent. I couldn't tell you how many times I felt my child was nothing more than a side show attraction. Too many observers and idiotic comments causing nothing more than agitation and stress for the patient. Other than that the doctors, therapists, and some nurses were very attentive and thorough with our family. The social worker was very helpful and very knowledgeable.

The Wake Forest buy out in the High Point, Greensboro, Winston Salem triad area is the most detrimental event to happen to the healthcare system in this area. It is inundated with PAs in primary care.... in fact, from my experience the MDs are few. Behavioral Health, as they call it, is booked 4 months out, God forbid you're in crisis. Most other specialists are at least 2 months out and, gone are the days of working a patient with a severe condition into their schedules on a emergent status. If you have cancer or other serious illness, that diagnosis will probably be made in the ED somewhere because you've become so sick you can no longer wait to see the specialist. You will sign electronically to consent for treatment without ever knowing the verbiage content of what you've signed. You will do the same for financial responsibility. Your records are available to the entire Wake Forest Network even if you wanted a private second opinion. We've been left with few healthcare options apart from the Wake Forest Community because they now monopolize the area. That's scary. Thankful I'll be returning to the west coast soon.

The doctors and nurses are amazing! Drove from High Point to make sure my child gets the best care possible.

As an individual who works there and I would think I would get better treatment, here I am in urgent care, because the nurse practitioner only looked at me for 2 min. He was extremely slack and I would encourage others to go to Urgent Care before here. It’s sad, how long more will this Hospital treat those who are employed by them like 2nd class citizens. The guy didn’t touch me hardly. Sickening. Don’t go here please if you’re an employee.

Have had excellent care with a severe left broken ankle and a fractured right ankle. This was the result of a fall. I also recently had my gallbladder removed. The staff have been professional and compassionate. Very happy with the services.

I had a 2:00pm appointment and arrived at 1:20. I drove front Kannapolis, so I left my house at 12:15. I had my X-rays and sat in the waiting room for FIFTY MINUTES past my appointment time before they finally called me back. I had a very important meeting at 4:45, so I asked the nurse if she thought I could possibly get out of there by 3:30 (this was at 3:00, and a simple consult visit) and she said “yeah...probably not”. This is entirely unacceptable and disrespectful to have patients wait for almost an hour. Instead of trying to see as many patients as possible, maybe they should start caring for the quality of care they receive vs. the quantity they see. If you can and are able to receive your healthcare somewhere else, by all means, do it.

My son had neurosurgery at 3 months old. The doctors have been amazing through the process.

I am giving Wake Forest a two start rating because of the automated phone system, not because of poor health care. As a medical professional I have the responsibility to retrieve medical records and images for our surgical team at the facility I work for here in Charlotte. I call hospitals, imaging centers and doctors offices throughout the United States to request images and medical records. Wake Forest is the worst and the operators are of no help. The automated system will transfer you and then give you a number to call, which no one answers "Please leave a voice mail". really!

I stayed with my sister at Wake Forest for exactly one month. She was on the 6th floor room 616 until she was moved to ICU for her last 2 days. She died 3 days after coming home.I had no problem with any of the doctors there, they were all great. The problems I had were with the cna’s and one nurse in particular. Her name is Brook and her cna was Karen.I realize this will do no good because they all cover each other but maybe some of you will keep in mind these 2 if ever your loved one is on that floor.Karen,to say the least was incompetent. My sister had diarrhea and she let her lay in it 5 hrs. The Dr.plainly told me not to let that happen because it burns her.She would cry out in pain.I asked another cna to help me and she did(bless her) Then Karen proceeded to tell me not to ask someone else to do her job.She was very rude and I went to Brook her superior and she did nothing but defend her. These 2 and a few others have given this hospital a bad name.I would like to thank the ones that had a caring heart because there were many. Why can’t this hospital fire ones like this when they are rude to family members as their loved ones are dying? Please ask the name of your nurse and cna,as I am telling you the truth.
