REVIEWS OF Carolina Kids Pediatrics IN North Carolina

Amber Farrelly

We have been with Carolina Kids Pediatrics and Dr. Nechyba since my children were born (2005 & 2008). I can't say enough great things about this practice. I absolutely trust their advice on all my child health questions, and appreciate that I can call in/schedule a visit to get advice/help whenever I need it. We've seen the other doctors at the practice as well, and all of them are wonderful. The staff is super kind and supportive and the visits are always timely and efficient. Carolina Kids Pediatrics is fantastic!

Dr. Nechyba is an excellent doctor. He carefully listens to us about each of our children's needs. We have seen other doctors in the practice as well and have been quite pleased. This is a fantastic group of doctors who truly care.

The staff is excellent, professional, and understanding. Dr. Tanaka is a great doctor and addresses all my concerns with patience and knowledgeable advice. The front desk staff are friendly and I love that they remember my family. As a new parent you want the best for your baby. I'll continue to bring my son here as he grows up.

We have had the privilege of being with Carolina kids Pediatrics for our kids since we moved back to Raleigh over 12 years ago. Dr. Nechyba and team are fantastic. They take time, return phone calls, and are always there for our concerns. We have recommended numerous friends and family to this practice. You will be in great hands choosing these pediatricians for your child!

Dr. Mary Beth Helton at Carolina Kids Pediatrics in Raleigh is an amazing pediatrician. She truly cares about all her patients and their well-being. She is a good listener and provides an in-depth examination before giving any type of diagnosis. She is extremely knowledgeable and understands that many symptoms overlap. She has provided the best care to my children since they were born and I would not recommend anyone else, 11 years. She is a pediatrician and mother and can easily relate to how quickly a parent wants to see their child feel better when they are sick. Her bedside manner is incredible because she is patient, caring, and never rushes parents that may have lots of questions and concerns that need to be addressed. She is a brilliant, compassionate, and the best in her field. Carolina Kids Pediatrics is greatly recommended.

Amie Zanzano

Amazing, caring, and supportive doctors and staff. Have been going here for over 12 years. We live in Apex and pass many other Pediatric Drs. We have always been able to get appointments in a timely manner whether for sick or well visits. Thank you Doctors for always caring for our children. Mom of 4 amazing girls, includes a set of premature twins.

We have been with Carolina Kids for seven years now and have had nothing but positive experiences with the doctors and all the staff members. They have been very helpful and are willing to assist and answer any and all questions we have had. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Jeff Tanaka since December of 2011. We've had pleasant experiences with the office in that time. We haven't been there very much past well visits. A few month's ago we had a visit (our first for 2014) and at the end of the visit I was met with two very rude staff members at the front. I was informed that I would have to supply them with my Social Security Number or pay in full for the visit every single time we came through that door. So as anyone knows supplying anyone with your social security number is just asking for identity theft and this happens very often in doctor offices. So I declined politely and someone, who was not introduced to me, was fetched and came over very rudely and explained all of this in a very rude manner. I didn't want to risk the event that a sitter or grandparent needed to bring my child in for a visit and be unable to pay in full for the appointment on the spot, so I allowed myself to be bullied into supplying my social security number. I left the appointment disappointed and furious. I was angry with the staff and I was incredibly angry with myself that I allowed some staff member to push me into something that was ridiculously risky for my entire future financial status. Since that appointment in April I had been looking into other offices. My daughter came down with a cold this past week and I brought her in. At the end of my visit I was checking out and the staff member, who was friendly, let me know that we had a balance on our account. I had not received a bill as of yet so I politely responded with 'I don't have my HSA checkbook on me, but once we get the bill in the mail I'll make sure to send it in'. I barely had finished the sentence when the same incredibly rude employee from the last encounter suddenly joined the conversation. She very pushingly started telling me to call in when I got home and give the office my HSA debit card number. Today, about 4 days after visit 2 we received a bill in the mail for the visit from 4/8/2014 and the visit on 5/16/2014. I have relayed all of the information to everyone I had recommended the office to. I have relayed all of the information to my husband who also agrees with me. So sadly, unless the office changes their entire billing policy our family will be leaving the practice. I hope the practice isn't suffering financially, but given this sudden change and pushy employee my guess is that they are and this is how they are attempting to make up their losses, but it's just alienating this client.

I found and visited Carolina Kids Pediatrics over 15 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child. My husband and I chose this to be the pediatric practice for both our sons, and we've been here ever since! I have always gotten such good guidance about my sons' health and even my own, as a mom with post partum anxiety & depression. I have always brought my kids for well check ups and annual physicals, as well as when they were ill. The M, T, R, F 8:30-9:15am walk-in hours have been so helpful, and we are comfortable with any of the doctors and staff. The office staff and nurses are wonderful for scheduling appointments and getting back to you with advice. The waiting area is great for kids, too! Dr. Nechyba, I must say, has a great bed side manner with all family members and is my sons' choice to see first

Julia Warren Ulanch

We have been taking our daughters to Carolina Kids for 12 years, and consistently have a good experience. They have been kind and thoughtful for our needle-phobic daughter, and helped guide evaluation for many opinions for our daughter with scoliosis. Highly recommend!

Bethany Smith

My first impression of Carolina Kids was fabulous, I enjoyed the Drs and felt comfortable asking them for advice about my child. However, their business office is completely unprofessional. Due to mistakes made on their part with insurance filing (my insurance hasn't changed since we started there) we have a bill for over $600 for a well visit. When we brought the issue to the attention of the head Dr. we were ignored. I would NOT recommend them.

Larnia Allen

I had a issue with this dr office a couple of months ago...prior to now. I wrote a review and of course someone reached out to me, to speak about the matter, which we did and at the end of our conversation I was asked to remove my post (so basically that's why I got a phone call) not because they had concerns of the patient well being but for the look of the office. I spoke to my child's father about the matter and he suggested I give them another try..so I did. Well here we are again, my child had been coughing on and off for 2 weeks so I decided it was time to take him in. I called at 5pm (which they close at 6) to see if they could see my child because at this point the coughing starting back, eyes red, stuffy nose etc. Told them I'd be there at 5:30, the nurse called back and stated that if my child was breathing ok then I just needed to make an appt the next day, I wasn't comfortable with that because I know what my child looked like and could tell the symptoms were getting worse, so after being transferred back up front to make the appt, I refused because I was close by, I was then put back on the phone with the nurse (getting passed around at this point) she stated that they "typically let kids cough for up to 3 weeks before bringing them in" well that was a lie, in the previous appt the dr's have told me if it persist for 2 weeks then come back (who in the heck let's their child cough for 3 weeks????????) she then said... "well are closing soon" even though I told her I would be there at 5:30, that was the last time I would ever call this md office for anything, I then realized they don't care about the well being of a child. So I ended up at the mini clinic and it turns out my child had pink eye and bad sinus infection. I am happy to say we have a new dr's office that I can tell actually cares about the well-being of their patients and not just clocking in and clocking out. The new dr office even tried to squeeze us in 30 mins before their closing time which let me know that I made the right decision in making sure my child's health is in good hands.

We travel from Dunn, NC to take our 3 children to Carolina Kids. The doctors and staff are very friendly and professional.

Great pediatric office. They have a nice waiting room with a couple fish/turtle tanks and a nice sections with toys. We don't spend to much time there, cuz we are usually called back quickly. The nursing staff is really nice and friendly, and we have dealt with Nurse care practitioner and an MD there with our 3 kids, and they were both very nice friendly with great bedside manors. They spend the time with you to make sure you are comfortable with your children's health, and what to expect between appointments.

Been coming here for years and never disappoints. Dr. Tanaka is an awesome guy and very knowledgeable. In fact, the whole staff is really helpful and friendly. Not one bad experience!

Carson Cobb

Dr. Nechbya is incredible. He has taken the best care of our daughter. He has an amazing bedside manner. He is patient and kind. I know we are in the best hands. It is rare to find such competence and compassion in a doctor. I recommend him to anyone!! You won't be disappointed.

Lauren Yates

We love this practice! Super knowledgeable and friendly pediatricians. Awesome hours. Always seen quickly. Weekend hours. We couldn't ask for more!

Christy Brantley

Both of our sons have been cared for by Carolina Kids Pediatrics since they were born. Dr Foor and Dr Nechyba are amazing (so is the rest of the staff!). The doctors make you feel like family, they spend extra time and listen as if you were one of their own. My children get excited to see Dr Foor for every check up. I have recommend many to this practice and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work and thanks for everything!

roberta pennington

I have had all 3 of my children at this practice since March of 1995 seeing Dr. Tanaka and Foor mostly but all of them have been really wonderful over the years. Now my grandkids see them. I couldn't ask for a better group of doctors! Thank you!

I have had very good experiences with my children's primary Pediatrician - Dr. Nechyba but I have had less than favorable interactions with the Nurse Practitioner and the Practice Manager. I took my daughter in Thursday evening because she had a rash. The Nurse Practitioner never gave her a diagnosis but did say to come back if more bumps appeared or if the rash worsened. We were there for 5 minutes! I called Monday and advised the NP that the rash returned and I wanted to bring my daughter in. The Practice Manager said they would charge me for another office visit. Since when does a Dr's office charge for a follow-up visit when the original visit didn't result in any type of care? I am appalled. I really like the Dr's there but there is no way I will continue patronizing any office that main motivation seems to be money instead of an ailing child.

Jacey Collins

Great Doctors!! Especially Dr. Emmitt!!! Have been going there since my son was born!! But the support staff is horrible/billing department! Had a change in insurance and went to the doctor for a sick visit and was turned away. It was not because they did not accept my insurance. I will take ownership for my own part in the matter. i had the wrong card. I had my vision card and not my medical card. I had been going to this office since my son was born and never had a problem. I called the insurance before hand to see if the doctor was in network and they were. So when I go to the office the staff looked at the card and said they could not file. I was told to call my insurance and I did but then the staff refused to speak to Insurance company. I work at a doctors office and I know all it takes is to use the Patient name and birthday to pull insurance. The number on the card were correct it was missing the prefixes. Which is easily accessible. But they refused to do anything and I was sitting there with a sick child. So I went to another doctor and was told that he had a virus. Once again the doctors are great!! But I would say to the support staff, think about the Patient. I understand that you have to check insurance, but if a Patient comes in and you have to look up there insurance, then you should do so, especially for a sick visit!!

Shawn Smith

My two children have been patients of Carolina Kids their entire lives. They are ages 8 and 4. I have always been greeted in a nice manner during check in and check out. Occasionally, I may have had to wait in the exam room a little longer than what some people determine normal, but I also got their full attentiveness during our time. You have to expect that things happen. I have never had a problem getting a same day appointment and have zero complaints about the practice. I also have never had any billing problems as described here. I also know that their office billing staff has had a complete overhaul. All the doctors have been great to my family. I would recommend this practice very highly.

We've been with Carolina Kids since the day Sam was born. They've seen us through the NICU, surgery, two hospitalizations, endless bouts with croup, bronchitis and zillion coughs. They're open Saturday and Sunday and they've got weekday walk-in hours. What other pediatrician do you know with hours on a Sunday? Dr. Tanaka is our primary doctor, but Drs. Foor and Nechyba know Sam just as well, having seen him on a hundred weekends. We love them all.

Jennifer Slusser

Both our children, six and three, have gone to Carolina Kids since birth for everything from wellness visits to tubes in the ears and oral accidents that required the service of a plastic surgeon. They primarily see Dr. Tanaka, but they have been helped by every doctor there, and I have found each one of them trustworthy. They seem up-to-date on the latest research in their fields, Drs. Wiley and Nechyba were both chief residents of pediatrics at their universities (Nechyba at Johns Hopkins--the #1 school for pediatrics at the time), and my ob/gyn at Atrium whose wife is a pediatrician told me that his wife thinks "Dr. Tanaka, while a little gruff sometimes, is the best pediatrician in the Triangle." I personally have not found Dr. Tanaka to be gruff in several years! Beyond their outstanding professional qualifications, I am pleased with their availability for both urgent and less critical issues. Once I left an article that I had a question about at the front desk (I suppose I'm a high-maintenance parent); Dr. Tanaka read it and called me back the next day to answer my questions. I have always gotten a same-day appointment for my children. I even I called one Sunday because my son was sick. Tammy at the front desk, who is WONDERFUL, scheduled an appointment for us at 2:00. I said, "Wait, I thought you closed at noon?" She said, "We close after we have seen all the patients." Thank you, Carolina Kids, for putting the health of your patients (and the mental health of their parents!?) before your Sunday afternoon plans. My children won't be seeing anyone else as long as Carolina Kids is here.

We love Carolina Kids!! We are moving and are actually having trouble finding a pediatrician in our new town that meets our standards thanks to Carolina Kids. ALL of the pediatricians there are great, to the point that we had trouble picking a “primary” one. We also have seen the lactation consultant several times, and she is one of the most patient and sweet nurses we have ever met. Our son has had reflux and a sinus/ear infection in his few short months since being born and the doctors, nurses, and front desk staff have always shown him/us so much care. They have a doctor on call to answer urgent phone calls 24 hours per day as well as weekend hours and morning sick hours. They are everything we want in a pediatrician and we are sad to be moving away from them.

Jeff Williams

Great place. I love it.

Joe

My son has been treating at Carolina Kids for 15 years now. The staff is superb, professional, and caring. Most of all, they really listen to the parents. I would recommend them to anyone!

Lisa Springle

We have been taking our 3 children to Carolina Kids since 2007. Early on, I was impressed that a staff member knew my family when I called to make an appointment, and that awesome level of care and commitment to patients has been a part of our experience at Carolina Kids ever since. Everyone we encounter during a phone call or visit is friendly and helpful. We are grateful we found this practice all those years ago.

Allison Nordan

We love the staff and Drs. at Carolina Kids. Never have an issue getting an appointment, easy wait times and great help with insurance too. Dr.Wiley is amazing and has the best bedside manner! My kids love going to the doctor!

Caroline Schmelzer

I 100% disagree with the negative feedback on here. We have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone at Carolina Kids. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have never had to wait on hold for long, when I have questions the doctors/nurses always return my call quickly, I never feel like my time with the doctor is rushed, and they offer tons of support for new parents. Recently we had some tests done and the doctor called to give me the results and check on my child-- so much more personal than a "the tests were fine" voicemail. Also, I literally just paid a bill over the phone while typing this post and it took less than 2 minutes. I recommend Carolina Kids to anyone looking for a pediatrician!!

Becky Lou Pigg

Love it. Dr. Nechyba is extremely caring; Dr. Tanaka is very personable; Dr. Foor is simply the best. We recently moved pretty far away, but we are still willing to drive back to Raleigh because we like Carolina Kids so much.

Wynn Bettinsoli

I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. We have been going for 20+ years. They have seen us through a rough bout (extremely difficult to diagnose) of rheumatic fever. We have gone through well baby visits, broken bones, countless bacterial and viral infections, stitches in office, and camp physicals every year. We have seen every doctor in the practice and have no preference because they are all so compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced. You couldn't make a better decision for a pediatric practice in all of the triangle area. No matter where you live, it is worth the drive!

Jocelyn Sese

My children have been patients at Carolina Kids since my firstborn came into the world 13 years ago. All of the providers at CKP have been so warm, caring, attentive, competent, progressive, receptive, and responsive that we quickly came to look forward to seeing all of them (except on visits for shots, of course!). Not only are the doctors, nurses, and staff all exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced, but--and this will sound hokey, but it's true, so there's no way around it--they truly love and care about their patients, and the lack of turnover (among both employees and patients) attests to that. I dread so many things about my boys becoming adults, and no longer being patients at this very pediatric practice is among the top of them. We love this place!

Megan Mallard

Great doctors here. Caring and willing to go out of their way to address a parent's concern and make sure their patients get good care. I would highly recommend them.

wendy gantt

Dr. Nechyba and the other medical staff have been our provider for 16 years and no way I would go anywhere else in Raleigh for care for my two children. The staff are kind, attentive, and take the time to really get to know you and your child. I trust the physicians at Carolina Kids to provide detailed and attentive care when my children have been sick or when they have had a specific issue. Dr. Nechyba takes extra time and also does screenings that most peds don't take the time to do for a child. It is personal and detailed supports and care that have had me recommending this practice for over a decade. There is a not a practitioner in this practice I would feel hesitant about caring for my child's medical needs. Highly recommend!

Nicole Sellers

Our son has been going to Carolina Kids since he was 6 months old. As a preemie baby with a milk protein allergy Dr. Nechyba worked closely with us to make sure he was gaining the weight he needed. He was there when our son turned one to distinguish "normal" baby/toddler eating habits from an oral motor delay. A few months later, our son was diagnosed with liver cancer. Dr. Nechyba was the one who found the tumor. He could've sent us home with a stomach bug diagnosis but he instead did precautionary blood work and an ultrasound that showed the tumor. Thanks to the early diagnosis his cancer was caught before it spread! We are beyond grateful! Dr. Nechyba followed up to check on our son throughout his treatment and was always available to answer any questions or provide guidance. It was during this time that we saw how much Dr. Nechyba truly cares about his patients! Every appt. we have at Carolina Kids the front desk staff is kind and organized, the nurses are friendly, experienced, and do a wonderful job, and Dr. Nechyba never makes us feel rushed and always makes us feel like he is on our team. We know he has our son's best interest in mind and we have the upmost trust in him as a medical doctor. We cannot recommend Carolina Kids enough!

Melody Ray

All three of my children have been patients at Carolina Kids since birth. I find their doctors to be knowledgable, competent, caring doctors with great instincts. They also strike a wonderful balance between treating an illness and knowing when to allow an illness to run its course without unnecessary intervention. The doctors have always been very patient with our questions and inquiries and we have never once felt as though we were rushed during a well or sick visit. The physicians’ demeanor with my children and ability to meaningfully interact with them has led to all of my children “liking” their doctor and building a sense of trust and confidence in them. I cannot say enough good things about Drs. Foor, Tanaka, and Nechyba. Thank you for many years of taking excellent care of my family.

Tracy Bennett

I am so glad to be back in Raleigh! My two girls had been patients of Dr. Foor, my youngest since birth and they love him. We had temporarily moved and could not see him for a couple of years. The entire staff is wonderful, thorough, and patient with every type of situation. They are sensitive to different types of health choices by parents and accommodate the needs of my children and I. 5 stars!

Elizabeth Stanciu

They’ve been treating my kids since they were born. One time I had to call when they were closed. It wasn’t really an emergency to call 911 type, so I left a message for a call back from the on call doctor. I got a call back within three minutes, so I was really impressed. They’re also open on Saturday and Sunday for a few hours and I’ve never had an issue getting the kids in for an appointment. The office staff are great, responsive.

Jennifer Kanetzke

We have been with Carolina Kids for over 20 years now. Each and every one of our families 8 kids are patients. We’ve been through a wide gamut of life threatening situations, to the annual wellness visits. No matter what issue has arisen, they are not above calling in one of their resident experts to consult on a condition. They take calls immediately, offer unlimited advice and go above and beyond in every way. These doctors are parents themselves and they get it. This practice also has a wide variety of personality types, so no matter what you like to see in a physician, they have someone who you can surely relate to. Sometimes you even see Dr. Foor’s sweet wife, Barbara, greeting you as you check in. We live way across town, but are happy to drive over to Carolina Kids to see this awesome team of doctors. We wouldn’t trust just anyone with our children and Carolina Kids is a perfect fit for us!

Michael Stratemeier

I recently moved to the area with my two teenage children. I can not say enough about Carolina Kids Pediatrics. Everyone has been wonderful from the moment we came to the front desk, to all the doctors and nurses who have taken care of my children. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help us in any way.

Alice Oara Rogers

I have had such a great experience with Carolina Kids Pediatrics! The doctors, lactation consultant, and nurses I've dealt with are so knowledgable, helpful, and just wonderful human beings. I rarely enjoy going to the doctors office, but this is the exception since my baby gets such good care.

Heather Scott

We have thoroughly enjoyed taking our children to Carolina Kids since 2010. We absolutely trust the advice and suggestions from their staff, and they value our time. We continue to make the 25-minute drive to their practice, even though we have many choices closer to our home. Our children love going to the office as well. Highly recommend this practice!

Jennifer Beard

I love this office- Dr. Tanaka is our primary care provider and he has been excellent with care of both my boys. Even when we see other providers for sick visits from time to time we always feel well cared for. We moved out of town but still take our children here. Love it.

McAdams Family

We have been with Carolina Kids for over 10 years. Luckily, my boys have been overall very healthy. However, we have had a few times that my boys had serious illnesses. The staff was always kind, caring and professional. After hours calls were returned promptly and pleasantly. They squeezed me in when my sons became suddenly ill, and they often talked me off the ledge when I felt like having a nervous breakdown as a new mom! We have seen almost every doctor in the practice and love them all. We also love the nurses we have seen. I should note that we do not live near the practice, we live a good 40 minutes away and choose to always drive to Carolina Kids because of the confidence we have in the staff to help us keep our children healthy!

Denise Rose Marcio

Great drs but rude staff. HAd some issues with insurance and instead of helping to work it out on both ends they just get rude and demand cash and would not see my sick newborn.

Danny Martinez

Excellent Drs, Courteous Nurses. Front desk lady TERRIBLE and GRUMPY

Lindsay Rouse

We have been taking our three children to Carolina Kids Pediatrics for almost 14 years and could not be happier with this practice! From newborn baby questions, to teenager issues, we have been supported and cared for evey step of the way. Dr. Nechyuba is our main doctor, and he and the staff at CKP have always given us the highest level of care we could hope for. Appointments are easy to schedule, and we have never felt rushed when talking with the staff (either over the phone or in person). I really feel like they make sure that you are comfortable and educated about your child's health and any issues that may come up. I love that you can call the nurse line and get a quick response about your child's health, and also that they have sick walk in hours for those days when your child wakes up sick and needs to be seen right away. We have been seen by almost every doctor in the practice over the years, and ever interaction with them is genuine. They really do care about your child. They have seen our family through colds and flu, head injuries, eye injuries, hospitalizations, allergies, and everything in between! Thank you for being there to help my family through it all!

Sybil Seawell

All 3 of my kids were seen at Carolina Kids since birth up until we moved a little over a year ago

Jessica Sink

I cannot rave about Carolina Kids Pediatrics enough! I have always thought they were great, but after my experience with my almost 1-year-old getting a stitch in her eyebrow, I absolutely know they are the best at what they do hands down! Dr. Nechyba is a gem. He is beyond knowledgable, kind, compassionate, patient, and will answer my millions of questions. He always makes me feel heard and like I’m doing a great job. He can put me at ease when I am worried about my daughter. I am also pretty sure he skipped his lunch since we were there during their closed office hours for their lunch break. The rest of the staff is beyond fantastic too! We were at the office for about 2 hours and while we were waiting, nurses came in to talk to/play with my daughter. One even went and brought her bubbles because she was saying “bubbles.” Dr. Willey and Dr. Foor also stopped in to say hi even though we weren’t there to see them and don’t normally see them. In fact, we have never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Foor until today. I am just in awe of how above and beyond the whole staff went. It means a lot to me since that day was such a scary day for us. Do yourself a favor, and choose this practice for your child. You cannot go wrong with any of the doctors.

Philip Zanzano

Carolina Kids Pediatrics is a TOP NOTCH Pediatrics office! My children have been going for the last 10 years and have enjoyed every visit. The doctors and nurses are kind, gentle, trustworthy and very knowledgeable with any questions or concerns we might have. Thank you Carolina Kids and Dr. Nechyba!

Ashley Hutchinson

We have been coming here since my son was born (he's 8 now), even since we moved further away. It takes us about 35+ minutes to drive here but we will continue to do so since its always such a great experience. Love all the doctors.

Anthony Dunn

We have been taking our five children to Carolina Kids for close to 18 years and they are amazing! Dr. Foor literally saved one of my son's life when he was just a day old. Every one of the doctors is terrific and the staff is extremely competent. We moved out of Wake county two years ago but still do the 40 minute drive to see them. They are that good.

Tonya Griffin

Dr. Tanaka has been my sons doctor for about a year. In the beginning when I had insurance everything was great. When I had to take my son in a month or so ago the staff was very rude. They would not see my son unless I could pay the full amount in cash, because we no longer had insurance. I do not understand why they could not bill me, or why there was so much hostility. My sons father and uncle went to Dr. Tanaka, we have s long standing good relationship with the office. I think that the front desk needs to work on customer service. The last thing we want to deal with is adults throwing a fit or someone not working with us, after we have been dealing with a sick child. Needless to say that if I have to bring him in today, it will be my last time if I have to go through what I went through previously.

Mark Stephens

We have been taking our son here for 13 years since he was one. One of the doctors was able to pull out something lodged deep in his ear on one ocassion. The front desk workers are very helpful also and even faxed a physical last minute they had on file so my son could tryout for his basketball team.

Angelique Tims

I brought my child here until she was 15 months then moved out of state. I'm so sad I can't take my child here anymore. My new pediatrician isn't half as good. I only saw dr. Willey. I never waited more than 10 minutes in waiting room. Maybe as long as 20 minutes once in room. You are never rushed. They go over all your concerns and give you information sheets. I always felt like my child was thoroughly examined and loved my experience here.

We have been with Carolina kids for 5 years and the doctors are wonderful. Both of my babies have grown up with Dr. Tanaka. Everyone takes their time with each child and makes sure you get quality personal care.

Emmet, Willey, and Dr. N are awesome but Diane in insurance and billing needs to get over herself. Rudely interrupted my visit for my child's appointment to smirk at me over a billing/insurance issue that had nothing to do with me. I don't know what this lady thinks is acceptable behavior, but our children have been patients practically their whole lives and our insurance has changed, but never did I receive a call or kind email to explain. I am filing a medical release form and taking our business elsewhere.

Growing up I was a patient at Carolina Kids Peds and have such love for the practice that I could not imagine taking my children anywhere else. We love all the providers, the staff, the nurses, and they are open hours that easily accommodate our busy schedules.

All physicians we've seen have demonstrated excellent time management and are very supportive. We always leave with clear and complete answers to all questions and never feel rushed. Sometimes the appointment doesn't start right on the minute, but the wait is still typically less than any other physician I see.

We just switched pediatricians about 10 months ago, and so far have had really good experiences with Dr's Tanaka and Nechyba. Staff has been friendly, effecient, and professional every time, and we have never had to wait very long in the waiting area or in the room itself (a huge deal with a toddler). Looking at other reviews, I hope we never have a billing insurance issue, but so far, we can't complain!

I have always loved the doctors there, but have to agree with the review below me. The office manager was so rude to me and is lying about me not bringing my insurance card in due to them not filing the claim in time. She told me if I didn't pay it I would not be able to come to this office anymore. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the billing staff. I will likely have to pay a bill that they made a mistake on and lied about.

We have been very happy with Carolina Kids over the past 7+ years. We have seen all doctors and all of them are amazing. Our regular physician Dr. Willey is absolutely wonderful. She (as well as the others) take a lot of time to listen to your concerns, respond to all questions and never make you feel rushed. Getting appointments is easy and wait times are typically short. You don't have to listen to an automated message when you call. After hours and on the weekends you get a response almost right away. Billing/insurance has never been an issue and they try to save you money by prescribing drugs that are not too expensive.

I love this practice. We have been patients for 7 years. I have 3 boys and I never had any issues with the front desk nor the doctors. We love Dr. Foor! I can not say enough good things about this practice. We have seen all the doctors over the course of our 7 years. I feel each of them are caring and attentive to our health concerns. I have so many friends that use them as well and all have nothing but good things to say about Carolina Kids! Highly recommend.

I've been going to Carolina Kids with my son and daughter for 7 years. I have never had a bad experience - the practitioners are all at the top of their game and they have been around the pediatric scene for a LONG time. We see Dr. Tanaka primarily, but have cycled through all the Dr.'s for sick visits. They have the experience to have seen it all, but still keep the office and its technology state of the art. I've paged them numerous times in the middle of the night with questions and they all know my kids when I call and take the time to calm me down, as well as treat the issue. The weekend hours are a lifesaver for busy working parents. I can't say enough good about Carolina Kids.
