Love Dr Delay...he's very thorough. He's extremely personable, never makes you feel rushed and gives you all the options for your individual case. I have had several shoulder surgeries and Delay is the only way to go!!

Andy King

Great guy speaks to you like you are important to him. Honest and trustworthy.

Dr Delay ruined my right shoulder. I had a shoulder replacement and he put it in wrong. It was squeaking badly and I was in great pain. I couldn't even raise my arm for a handshake. Of course, I went back to him and he told me the squeaking was because it was new and he didn't understand why I was having so much pain. He took xrays and said I had good bone growth around the replacement. I finally went for another opinion. This ortho doctor said definitely the replacement was put in wrong but he was honest and said he wouldn't be able to fix it. Went to Baptist Hosp ortho dr. He said, definitely a mess and he wasn't going to get into another dr's mess. Finally got an appointment with Ortho dept at Duke University Medical Center. FINALLY, someone that was willing to help me. During the surgery, the surgeon reached to get the ball portion of the component was si loose, it almost fell in the floor. And the squeaking?? It was metal on metal. I had metal shavings in my shoulder and had metalosis. He said I was fortunate I didn't have metal poisoning. I thank God for sending me to this surgeon. I still have pain but it's tolerable and not constant. HOWEVER, thanks to Dr. Delay, there are several things I am unable to do, to mention a few....eat with right hand, pick up my grandchildren, fix the top and back of my hair, Swim, reach to a tall shelf. I sent letters to this man and never got a response or nothing back from the Chief of Surgery .This has been an unnecessary nightmare. Thankfully, I am a Christian and know we reap what we sew; And, vengeance is mine, says the Lord

Dr Delay is a great doctor with a great personality. I do need to stress his time skills are not equal to his ability to treat patients. I have had a 7:00 am appointment on 2 occasions with Dr Delay and he did not ARRIVE at the office until 7:35 am on both occasions. I schedule early appointments so that I don't have to take a half day off from work. If the doctor cannot arrive at the time of his scheduled appointments, there should not be an appointment scheduled for that time. A patients time is just as valuable as a doctors to them!!

I recently saw Brian Delay for a Quad tendon tare that got infected, I went to him 3x which he said I didn't have an infection. The next day I went to the ER and I was admitted for emergency surgery after confirming it was infected. By him saying it wasn't infected for so long the infection set in my bone and I then had to have a knee replacement after 7 surgeries. If you go to Ortho Carolina you would be in better hands with Dr. Scott Smith (5 STAR). ( NOT Brian Delay)

Dr. DeLay was excellent to work with. He always took his time to address any of my concerns. Explained the process of the surgery and recovery. I was very pleased with everything.

Awful experience. I injured my knee in August and I twice scheduled an appointment Orthocarolina only to have the nurse pop her head out of the back office to say Dr. Delay is running 30 to 45 minutes late. On the day of my second scheduled appointment I called Dr. Delay's office 45 minutes before my arrival and the nurse said he was on time. Both appointments were afternoon appointments. I cannot comment on the Dr. Brian Delay since I never saw him. The office staff was helpful but were indifferent about the doctor running late. For folks considering seeing this doctor, I'd strongly suggest you obtain an early morning appointment to be safe. In my case, there were no morning appointments available that were not weeks out. Your mileage may vary.

Dr Delay did my ACL and did an amazing job. The scar is difficult to see. He did a great job and my knee is almost back to 100%. He might be late to afternoon appointments due to a survey running long like mine did but I can’t be happier that he found and repaired more damage than we originally thought and saved me another surgery. My insurance was giving me the run around and Dr Delay got upset with the insurance company and fought to get my knee approved and not to wait as the insurance wanted even though it was a total tear and no recovery possible. He fought for me and got me in. If you need your knee done he is worth the wait and worth your visit. I did my PT with Orthocarolina as well and there were beyond amazing and got me back onto my knee and back doing everything I was before. Great team and combo.

Even though he is almost always late, he is worth waiting for. He is very kind and concerned about the issue you have and explains what can be done to make the problem go away. He repaired my meniscus tear and now my rotator cuff which I am a little over 3 months. I am still having some pain and my reach is not were he thinks it should be so we will wait 6 more weeks and see were i am at that time. Hopefully all we be good. He is a great surgeon and I would highly recommend him. For my physical therapy I am using Carolina rehabilitation in Mount Holly, because it is closer to my home, I do wish the communication between these 2 parties was better. Even with this I would not go anywhere else for these type surgery.

Mike Thompson

Top notch surgeon. No nonsense, right to the point; but will listen to you, as so many other doctors will not. He's fixed this old body a few times.

Bailie Morlidge

Dr. Delay is very personable and knowledgeable. I trusted him from the very start. He made me feel comfortable while being completely honest and upfront about my knee problems and what needed to be done. John Morlidge

January 2018 went for torn miniscus on left knee, and had micro fractures to help it heal. That failed and mr Delay said partial knee replacment. Had that done in sept 2018. By december had side ways movement in knee, pain, etc, mr delay said it takes time to heal, take tylenol and use ice packs. No matter how much I called telling them its not right, and in pain, it fell on deaf ears. I WENT TO ANOTHER REAL DOCTOR AND WAS TOLD MY PARTIAL KNEE REPLACMENT FAILED!!! Brian Delay, as I refuse to call him a doctor, is over worked, office visit is long wait, and quick visit with him. Post op visit after surgey is short walk in room and it takes time to heal, take tylenol and use ice packs, see ya in 6 months. He dont even look at physical therapy reports, told me staff looks at it , no time for it. Stay away from letting mr delay initial any body part. So another doctor is going to do a full knee replacment on me. Wonder id mr delay will pay for this surgery, as im sure he did a hurry up job on me. I also left a review on ortho carolina huntersville. Again thanks for the limp Mr Delay.
