Very unpleasant experience, he was not focused, accused me of making up a symptom and jabbed me very hard and painfully with needle for numbness. 2 stars are for the very kind staff ONLY!

Dr. Shapiro is a very thorough, professional and meticulous dermatologist who is excellent at what he does. I've had nothing but great experiences each and every time I've visited dating back to 2012. I highly recommend his practice for annual skin check-ups and more serious skin issues.

A friend had her appointment cancelled multiple times. Last time she booked 24 hours ahead and they called her few hours before the appointment and said they were closing 5 hours early! Just let that sink in... They booked an appointment the day before for a time AFTER they were closing. This place is extremely disorganized, last time I was there a gentleman was complaining of having to wait 2.5 hours with an appointment. My friend went here for a 3 minute light therapy session with appointment and always waits over an hour. The doctors here are decent but bring a blanket because you can get a good sleep in the waiting room before you ever see anyone.

Doctor Michael Romano was an absolute best and professional. Helped get me the meds I needed approved by Insurance and did an amazing job with my skin. Highly recommended

I didn't even see the doctor until an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment and for the time and attention he took with me I'm not sure why he was running behind schedule. He removed a mole that had been giving me trouble and as he injected the area to numb it (without warning) I winced and said, "ow" to which he responded, "it doesn't hurt." Really sensitive guy with great bedside manner. After he was done he didn't give any care instructions and I didn't think to ask at that moment because I was nervous about the removal process. Staff is cordial at best but seem bothered to even be there. Definitely not going back and certainly don't recommend.

I was referred to this place, and although the doctors here are professional, the waiting times are insane. Add up additional 60-90 mins to your original appointment time. The supporting staff just chills around reception area, chatting. Won't be coming back.

My appointment was scheduled for 3pm. I arrived at 2.45 pm and was actually called by the doctor only at 4.30 pm. Doctor barely looked or investigated what I asked him to ( Dr. Shapiro). At the end, the attendant walks to me with some papers she wanted me to read and called me Transexual without even asking

I met Shapiro at Advanced Dermatology in Fordham and he knew how to talk to his patients, he was fast and thorough and made me feel extremely comfortable. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my face. Following him to Vanguard to finish my sessions!
