Dr F seems very nice and quite knowledgeable. Problem was the long wait, almost 2 hours just to see the nurse and his assistant (who was lovely and also knowledgeable). 20 minutes later I got to meet the doctor finally for about 10 minutes It was almost 3 hrs by the time I left.

The Best Endrocrine surgeon in NYC! Hands down. Dr. Fahey is caring, gentle, best bedside-manner of any doctor i have ever experienced, and an extremely skilled surgeon. I had a total thyroidectomy in June 2019 due to Graves disease and it was a breeze. No vocal issues (i was worried about that initially), practically invisible scar before the 2 week mark, and feeling physically/mentally better. The pain post-op was so minimal that I only needed OTC pain meds for the first 2 days. Nurses and hospital staff reassured me the day of my surgery that he is the best and they also said they have let Dr. Fahey operate on them so that speaks volumes of his reputation and skill. He does not rush through appts and takes his time explaining everything. He has a calm, soothing manner and has a tremendous amount of patience. I was so anxious before my procedure and I'm sure I was annoying but he never made me feel like any of my thousand questions was a burden to him. I'm so thankful for Dr. Fahey. He gave me my life back. If you need thyroid surgery, Dr. Fahey is the surgeon to pick. I never had long waits to see him at his office and even if there is a wait, trust me, he is worth every single second.

This is the best out patient service I ever experienced. Dr. Fahey is very kind and professional. He performed a needle biopsy for me. My last needle biopsy at a Radiology Center in Elmhurs Queens, they use a thick needle to do it and had to give me local anesthesia, it still caused me a lot of pain. Comparing to my past experience, this time was almost painless. He just used a fine needle and did it smoothly without any anesthesia. His crew members are great too. I couldn't ask more. I don’t have the words to describe how wonderful and professional this surgeon is. His reputation precedes him. Bedside manner A+, surgically gifted, calm demeanor, spends time with the patient, never in a rush, particular, precise, and pleasant. He is often referred to as “New York’s BEST” endocrine surgery specialist by other Manhattan doctors. Three days post hemithyroidectomy, I was almost 100%. I was a terribly nervous patient going in, and a hopeful patient coming out. The world needs caring doctors like this. I am forever greatful, and I recommend Dr. Fahey and ONLY Dr. Fahey for endocrine surgery.

The ONLY reason this Doctor didn't receive 5 starts is because of the wait. We waited almost 3 hours to see him. But honestly it was worth it. He gave incredible personalized care and his nurse was as fantastic as he was. I am a medical professional and I have to say that I would return to him in a heartbeat. He is honest, considerate and share's his wisdom and reasoning. They let you know ahead of time that the wait could be 2 hours and you MUST be there and if you are late, your appointment is canceled. My suggestion is that there should be a person that could call you when it is close to your appointment (even an hour ahead of time) and give a time estimate for your appointment will actually be. My appointment was for 3:30 and I was out of there by 6:45pm. I felt badly for the elderly people who were sitting in their wheelchairs the whole time. He did however apologize for keeping us waiting.

He recommended testing that was not suggested by other specialist which eventually give my brother a choice not to have invasive surgery. I would highly recommend to See Doctor Thomas j. Although I travelled from Florida, I selected Dr. Fahey because of his expertise with total thyroidectomy. The whole process was seamless and uneventful. In addition to his surgical skills, Dr. Fahey is a very delightful person who made me feel as if I were his only patient. His staff mirrors his caring and precise nature. I am sure I could not have selected a more ideal environment or a better surgeon. As a bonus, the scar is hardly detectable.
