This place is just money-making scam. I wanted over 45 minutes for my appointment and when I was finally seen I then was only seen by an assistant, she asked me a bunch questions I had already answered on the new patient form days earlier. She barely listened to my answers then she proceeded to look at my face from across the room and prescribe me a bunch of things I had already been on. And thats not even the bad part. When we finally came up with a treatment plan I was never able to actually pick up the prescriptions due to the absurd incompetence of this office. First someone forgot to call my insurance to get the prescriptions pre-authorized, I waited 2weeks. Then I guess it was too hard for them to get in touch with insurance, because usually insurance companies are sooooo easy to deal with, so they gave up. I asked if there was anything I could do to help and they insisted their office had to speak to the insurance, and yet when I called the insurance they had no records of anyone calling from Bobby Bukas office, its been a month and a half at this point. I called the office again, and again. each time spending over 15minutes on hold and each time having to explain the situation to whoever decided to pick up that day since they apparently don't keep records of the phone calls they've had with patients. After four months of this bullshit I gave up and went to another doctor who prescribed the same things and had them authorized the next day. The kicker is i stilled received a bill from Buka. 200 dollars for a person to look at my face from across the room and not listen to a word I said. This place does not care about its patients or their treatment, they care about your wallet.

I read ZocDoc reviews, and went here, and was horribly misled. I sincerely hope you check google reviews which are much more accurate for this practice. Or try calling them first. If you try calling to schedule an appointment, you can firsthand discover for yourself the dysfunction. At one point, they actually connected me to another caller who had been on hold herself. Or they were just lying and it was a different receptionist pretending, in order to disconnect me again. Terrible, terrible experience

They were so rude i spoke to a Max and Ashton...both promised to solve the situation and continued to get the run around had to call several times and they messed up and wanted me to wait a month and do blood work all over again...williamsburg center is unprofessional

I'm not sure about anyone else who wrote these bad reviews BUT I loved the Williamsburg location! my son is now 2 years old and i've been taking him since he was 1. He had very bad eczema with creams, meds and directions giving he doesn't have as much breakouts. He also had a bunch of warts that was removed. I've referred family and friends and so far they love it too!

PAC man machine, green 1950’s vintage fridge, and Beastie boy soundtrack in the waiting area - this place is a joke and a scam. Was quoted $250 on phone for one area of Botox. Got in the room, dr says $600 - “people in front don’t know pricing”. Really? Or does your pricing fluctuate depending on your whim? And then, as if to explain, Dr Singh cites her expertise in “Botox”. Really? Botox? That’s your medical speciality? Cosmetic derm can be a racket - this place is a prime example. Make an appointment with a real derm practice.

It was a great office 2,3 years ago. Now the customer service is horrible! I’m waiting 2 weeks for biopsy results and cannot even speak with person fron the office. The other day I waited almost 2hrs just to find out that wrong appointments are booked and I cannot be seen. Please avoid this practice!

If your looking for a beautiful office, this is the place for you. If you want your skin care needs solve then look some place else. This guy gave me less than five minutes of his time. And didn't even give me the chance to explain myself so we could address my concerns. I had a number of issues I wanted to discuss and he pretty much blew me off. Pretty office but the service SUCKS!!!!!

I love the friendly staff. They are very quick to see you. The only thing is I asked for a treatment and they said they didn't do it about 1 year ago but on my last visit last week May 3rd I found out from another staff member that they actually do the procedure all along, and I had been commuting to coney island Brooklyn to do this procedure. That was a waste of my time and very costly when all along my doctor's office did the procedure go figure. Also when they say they're going to send my refills to my pharmacy. I have to email or double check if it's done because my pharmacy usually says they didn't get the request. Still trying to figure if its the pharmacy or the doctor's office who's been dropping the ball.

It has been almost 4 weeks since I'm waiting for the results of my skin biopsy. No one called me to tell me why and that the results will be delayed. I spent a full week calling to have any information and no one cared on me with a ETA of the results. At this point I don't if my skin sample is lost or if in the samples they couldn't process because there is a briken machine at the lab (I learned this after one week of calling). The receptionists where rude and didn't care about the fact of the delay could impact my treatment. When I asked to speak to a manager they hang the phone. After a week of calling I learned that a machine broke at the lab and they couldn't process the samples. Do your self a favor a go to a Dr that is aware of, and has a staff that also knows, that they are dealing with people's health.

I came here a very long time ago and I never left a rating but I do feel it is necessary being as though people are having issues here. When I first scheduled my appt I didn't know I would be seeing a student or PA or whatever it is they have there. But that wasn't even my problem the guy I saw didn't look at my face thoroughly just glanced and then prescribed me a medication, fine no problem I was being open minded maybe it would work... I go to the pharmacy and whatever it was that he prescribed me was $700 I was so upset! Not only do you NOT look at the problem I'm complaining about but you also prescribe me an outrageously expensive medicine! I've never been back since. If I were you I wouldn't come here either it's NOT worth it

Lauren Falcone

The appointment went great, once I actually got into the room it was very quick. The only issue I have is that I did not get to see the Dr. I had scheduled the appointment with which was upsetting because I like to do research on my providers before seeing them the first time. The PA that I did meet was super helpful and I would gladly see her again I just wish they would have been honest about who I'd be seeing in the first place.

Go anywhere else but here . People that work in the office are horrible and unhelpful no wonder they went from a 5 star to a 2 star in a year . I will be looking for a new dermatologist thanks for nothing

I came in with a rare case of a rash on my left hand and Michael plus his staff were very helpful and supportive. I certainly had a wonderful visit. Thank you! Will be returning in 2wks for my follow up

Zahava Mandelbaum

The wait time was over an hour, I needed to go through several nurses and nps before I could have a follow up with the doctor. I was left with two very visible scars and it is taking them over a month to call in my presciption to my pharmacy, which they still haven't done. I called to speak to the doctor and they told me he would call and he never did. I would not recommend this dermatologist.

Jason Tamayo

Honestly, what a terrible operation. First, I never saw Dr. Buka, but one of his physician assistants. He wasn’t terrible, but not very knowledgeable. I went in because I was concerned about a mole on my face. He didn’t even bother to tell me if it was cancerous or not. But again, he wasn’t that bad. Secondly, they were supposed to contact my insurance company if they would cover it, and get back to me. More than a month later, they haven’t gotten back to me. Lastly, I contacted the main office. I called three times. First time I am placed on hold for 5 minutes, and it automatically hangs up. The second time I am placed on hold for 12 minutes and then it hangs up. The third time I called they finally tell me that no one contacted my insurance company, and they don’t even see a follow up appointment in my file.... Folks, this is an ABSOLUTE JOKE of an establishment. Staaaaay awwwwaaaay!

Although I wasn't able to get my medicine because it wasn't covered by my insurance, Dr. Chris was great! He recommended Cerave lotion for daily use and even gave me samples to try and I must say, my eczema has really cleared up! He seemed to really care which I appreciate

I had a Skin Cancer Screening with Melanie, She was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel at ease and comfortable from the outset. I would highly recommend her and this practice as all the staff including the Nurses and front desk staff were all very friendly!

1. I have been continuously asking you guys to run a visit I had through insurance. I was lied to that you didn't take my insurance (which you do, it is listed on the website that you do and after having my provider call you guys they found out that you do) so I had to pay out of pocket during my visit, but it should have been run through my insurance. Please correct it. 2. I have reached out numerous times about a cortisone injection I received. The woman injected the same spot multiple times for some reason, and the area turned black. It has slowly faded but is still discolored in the area and I am concerned. 3. I made an appt for today at the Williamsburg location for Botox. I prefer scheduling online because it's easier for me to match the digital calendar with my calendar, rather than rattling off random dates over the phone trying to find availability. I showed up today and waited 20 mins, only for the woman to tell me that there was a glitch in ZocDoc and there was actually no one there who would be able to see me. She tried to reschedule me but there was nothing available in the near future. I made this appt awhile ago and they didn't even have the courtesy to try to squeeze me in sometime within the next couple weeks? She also shouted across the lobby asking the reason for my visit, assuming it wasn't confidential. Very unprofessional. Please have someone contact me asap.

I’m Brittany and I’m unhappy with the service I received today. I originally went to the dermatologist because of a reoccurring Cyst acne problem. I went last month and my doctor perscribed me 1 oral medication and 1 cream. My face actually got worse, and now I have multiple cyst scarring on my face. I paid a $60 copay and I’m very upset about my experience. My doctor was nice but I’m upset that this medicine isn’t working. Now I’m going to have to spend more money to get a second opinion. I’m highly unsatisfied.

Their Office is beautiful. very clean and pristine. The medical issue I had was very personal and private; embarrassing. Worst place if you have genuine concerns. The doctor didn't exam any of the areas I was concerned with. What a waste of time. Go elsewhere or regret it!

Jania Elisabetta

After my third visit, I’ve officially changed and booked an appointment with another dermatologist in a superare clinic. The dermatologists here are extremely unhelpful. All three times that I’ve gone, I’ve been checked for less than a minute and prescribed the same medicine. After expressing my concerns to Dr. Singh I was talked to like I was less than, I received no explanation or no examination. The nurse kindly asked me about my acne, medications I’m using and my current health status...questions I assumed the dermatologist would review my answer to. My doctor, Doctor Singh, walked in and she did not even review my profile and immediately prescribed me the SAME medication I’ve been using for two years. She had forgotten which medication she had prescribed me and even after I informed her I had received that medication it took the kind nurse showing her my profile in order for her to see it was true. I’ve never been to a doctors office where the doctor doesn’t review my history or my profile or even cares to discuss with me my current health. I left the office extremely upset at the fact that I was not taken seriously and not helped. I’ve never had a thorough conversation with any dermatologist there regarding my health background or my acne history. It’s always been a quick in and out. My appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. The skin is a part of our bodies that should be taken seriously when we express concerns to our doctors. It’s a part of us that has the ability to make us depressed and irritated when something is not right, and these doctors do not care about their patients. I recommend everyone finding another dermatologist who genuinely cares about the wellbeing of their patients and NOT going to this office! Trust and believe you will not be treated and nothing will be done to help you.

Carly Chappell

These guys are awful. They made me wait over an hour for my appointment. Then I was seen by an assistant not a Dr. Really wasting my time. Then then waited a year and half to bill the appointment , which now now I have deal with all this insurance bs because of them. This is worst company I have ever come into contact with. AWFUL.

wandi gemini

My experience there is always a great one. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable. It's never a long wait. I'm always seen on- time when I have an appt. And I love that there are sooooooooo many locations to choose from.

Williamsburg Blonde

First time dermatologist visitor and I'm completely disenchanted. In office experience: Office staff had zero bedside manner. They were standoffish, cold and unprofessional. Doctor was fine at best. During my appointment, the doctor removed 2 and a half moles. One mole was "large" - about the size of your iPhone home button. He left half of it intact saying that if it came back positive, he would remove the rest. But here's what he didn't tell me, that it would cost me another appointment visit and another removal charge. Thanks, Doc. After office experience: Billing has been a nightmare. My appointment was in-netwrok and I am still paying literally thousands of dollars out of pocket. Plus, the team at Bobby Buka sent my lab work to an out of network facility which drove costs up even more. I find this particularly unprofessional as I was not given the choice to use labs that were within my network. So, there it is. Proceed with caution if you proceed at all.

My experience at the dermatology specialist has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I had terrible acne and my doctor was able to help me get it under control and remove any hyperpigmentation that was left behind. They are really a great set of specialist who will take care of any of your concerns ! Just be patient with the process.

Don't expect to see an MD when you go there nor expect to see the so called famous Bobby Buka MD, went there 2 times and never saw a MD saw an assistant PA instead , not kool my insurance pays for me to see doctors not there assistants .... My friend went there and the same thing saw the PA.. Are there any docs even there? Ridiculous IMO..... Looks great inside .. But Looks are deceiving!!!! If you decide to go make sure you ask who will be attending to you, a PA or a real MD !!!!!! Not Going Back Ever For These Reasons!!!!!

Visited Dr. Rhee at this location for help with poison ivy rashes I previously had treated at an urgent care with oral steroids. She had great bedside manner but I had some concerns about her treatment. First, she never asked me how bothered I was by the itching of the rash, perhaps on a scale of 1 to 10? I told her when the rashes developed and how I was treated before. She believed the urgent care under-prescribed steroids for me, which I did agree with because the itching had returned before the rashes healed. She then prescribed me 10 days of oral steroids that she said would knock out the rash. She also prescribed me an antihistamine to take that she said will stop the poison from spreading through my bloodstream. That didn’t make send to me because the oil from the plant is what causes the rashes. It’s not an internal problem. And if the steroids are going to knock out the rash, why did I need more medication? So I asked her and she said this was to help with the daytime itching. But she also told me to take the steroids first thing in the morning so I didn’t have trouble sleeping. So wouldn’t they help with daytime itching? The prescription I had before did, dramatically, and right away. So why did she prescribe this medication again? Then she prescribed me an antipsychotic to help me sleep at night. She did ask me if I had trouble sleeping and I mentioned that I had woken up 4 times the night prior. She assumed I wanted medication for that too, but I’m used to waking up during the night frequently and wasn’t really bothered by it. Also I had been taking the steroids later in the day because that’s when I started my first dose, in the afternoon, so that’s probably why I had difficulty staying asleep. I mentioned this and she said it would still help with my itching at night. Not once did she speak about a single side effect from any of these medications. I asked as many questions as I could think of during my visit but did not remember this one. However, I think it is the responsibility of the prescribing doctor to bring up side effects and things to watch for, just in case. She rushed out of the room. I will not be picking up a single prescription from the pharmacy. I do not trust her. I can deal with semi-treated poison ivy rashes for another week or two. I would rather not take a cocktail of medication for which the possible effects are unknown to me. Also, the front desk staff was very unprofessional. They were speaking about smoking weed in the waiting room for all patients to hear, including my 12 year old son that accompanied me. Going back to my dermatologist in Manhattan.

nycgemini7222

Not thrilled with the appt...didn’t have to wait long so that was a plus but the derm that saw me didn’t really seem to conduct a thorough enough job. Felt quick & rushed.

Great dermatologist, bad at logistics. The place is clean, staff is friendly, always cold water bottles in fridge, you can usually get appointments when you want them, knowledgeable and friendly medical staff. One problem that absolutely bugs me, and has me considering switching, is the fact that prescriptions are sent out hours later. With my other doctors, I can usually have it an hour after the visit. Here I am nearly 4 hours after an appointment and my pharmacy is not aware of any new meds. This is not a one-time thing. This happens every single time, literally. If you can deal with this latency, I highly recommend this place. If this will bug you, then keep it in mind when looking for a dermatologist. Update: it's 6 hours from when I left the office and my pharmacy is still not aware of any prescriptions. I had to call in and ask them to send it. Waiting to see if it will work now. Update 2: After I called in, it was finally sent. Now, my pharmacy got it, but they say that the doctor didn't confirm in the iPledge program that he saw me today, and therefor they cannot dispense the meds. I contacted the office and they say that no one can take care of that now so I'll have to wait till tomorrow. This is something that the doctor should have done at the end of the visit, along with actually sending out the prescription.

clean office, short wait time, and they recommend my fave skincare brand, “first aid beauty.” i was a little upset when i was assigned a male practitioner because i made the appointment under the assumption that i would be seen by a woman, but they had a female nurse stand in the room the whole time i was being examined and the male doctor was very professional and respectful and did his job quickly without making me feel weird. would definitely go back again!

Was referred to Dr Booka by my primary car physician. Made an appointment for a removal of a growth which their P.A. decided to try to freeze for removal. When asking him to remove a skin tag he then went forward to want to charge me out of pocket (which in my life no dermatologist ever has done such a thing). When I called to complain and cancel my follow up no one cared to even contact me to work through my complaint yet they continually now want a review and to reschedule the appointment! Done and heading to a new practice!!

We were seen by Dr. Chris on 7/13/17. My son was referred by his pediatrician because he had a rash and we suspected of Lyme disease. I had to almost force the doctor to prescribe lab work for my son because he kept insisting he only had a virus. The lab work came back and my son DID have Lyme disease. The doctor gave him a WRONG dose!!! Three weeks later my son developed a high fever and I took him to Weill Cornell Pediatric Infectious Diseases. BEST thing I ever did. The specialist there told us it should have been 400mg/5ml instead of 200mg/5ml as Dr. Chris had prescribed my son. This is really terrible!!! I don't care about waiting time or even bedside manners, but my son was given the wrong medication. From all things in the world, the only thing the Dr. should have done properly was prescribing the correct medication for my son and he failed to do that. I wouldn't come back again!

If you are looking for an easy dermatologist for acutain management STAY AWAY. Every time I needed a persciption it was like pulling teeth getting them to do it. My pharmacy has never seen anything like it. They also no longer accept my insurance and instead of telling me a month ago so I could find another place, they told me the day before my appointment with nothing more than a sorry. These people only care about making money. Receptionist is nice but the doctors lied to me about my insurance covering the visit then insist on having me come back in simply for a prescription refill. Apparently they are ok with people spending $250 just for them to write a prescription. It's awful.

Moonlight Gyps

Worst office I've ever had to deal with. How do I begin. I had an appointment to get two prescription creams. Thought everything was hunky dory until I show up to the pharmacy and they have NO prescriptions listed for me. I walked back to the Dermatologists office and when I told them of this problem, they tried to charge me ANOTHER copay to see the doctor so he could prescribe me these pills. After arguing with the receptionist for 10 minutes, she finally let me see a doctor for free, so he could write me a prescription that should have already been filled. Fast forward 2 weeks and I am yet again on the phone with Bobby Buka's office because they sent my (second) prescription to the wrong pharmacy. Save yourself the time and stress and do NOT go here.

Michael Tener

In line with the other reviews here, Dr. Kim was great, but the back office is terrible. As a current patient, I have had a problem that has brought me to their door three times, and unfortunately I still have it. I was going to an urgent care for some other tests and Dr Kim's support staff instructed me on what blood work to order. After calling them three times and having the labs sent to them three times, five if you count the times they were faxed twice, because "the fax machine doesn't receive faxes if you only send it once" -- Are you kidding me?!? I call for their opinion on the results, and they acted like the lab results magically appeared and then mocked me for 5 minutes saying "we believe you but your treating physician should deal with the problem" News flash jackass, Dr. Kim was the treating physician! Scratch that, not anymore, not with a dysfunctional support staff.

Ian Potts

These guys are great and Dr. Rubio is a total rock star. Extremely smart, thoughtful and diligent when treating you - and I literally mean treating YOU as a person rather than just your symptoms. If you're like me, you've had one too many doctors tell you that they've seen your symptoms a thousand times before and just write a scrip. No real interest in treating you, digging deeper to find out what the underlying cause might be, or looking for alternative/supplementary ways to help you. Dr. Rubio is different and it shows. He'll listen to you and take a vested interest in you as a patient. He is the only doctor I've ever seen that was willing to work with me collaboratively to solve my problem. The guys before? They nearly put me in the emergency room prescribing me something that was not only ineffective (which could have been avoided with just a few follow-up questions) but made my symptoms ten times worse in the span of three days. Now that I'm seeing Dr. Rubio, I'm looking great and it'll be a cold, rainy day in hell before I go somewhere else. If Dr. Rubio is representative of the rest of Bobby Buka's practice then guys, you found the right place.

Call reps are very unprofessional, I explained my problem that re with two different pharmacies and explained that it was a problem on the dermatologist side that I wasn't receiving my prescriptions and was hung up on in the mist of explaining and sent to voicemail when calling back ..not to mention I arrived very early & was the last one seen, very unprofessional !

I had the worst experience here. My doctor was Christopher Busapavanig, and he didn't diagnose me correctly when I had a severe allergy reaction. Moreover in many attemps of my phonecalls from the pharmacy when I was saying that I was not able to breathe all the associates were very unhelpful. I had to go to another doctor who connected me immediately to a breathing machine and wrote me a lot of medication who was much more aware of the seriousness of the situation. The doctor never even bothered to call me (his patient!) back. I am very disappointed by the service here. Not to mention that they charged 250$ before seeing the doctor. I never had a worst doctor service in my life..

Total crooks.... Without consultation they sent my skin samples off for expensive and totally unecessary "lab tests". Refusing to pay, I wrote several letters and had many phone calls with them - none of which they responded to - so now I have outstanding debts against my name. What's worse? The condition that they supposedly perminantly cured has come back already and so now I'm back to square one.

I didn’t see bobby I saw another guy I don’t remember his name but he was very nice. I did feel like he didn’t take time to listen to me a little rushed but I was given prescription for my problem. Only one was sent to my pharmacy and I have to go back for the other one because they made a mistake and didn’t send both I guess they were really rushing but other than that I appreciate his time. Make sure you listen to the doctor but also listen to your body because the doctors don’t know your body personally like you do they just know what the book says.

A SCAM! Gave me bad service and over charged my insurance. I don’t recommend

Doctor is nice, but the office is not responsive, and there is no way to get intouch with your as all of the office use one line. I was not notifed of abnormal test results until i came in for a follow-up appointment. And then had to call the office 3 times to get the re-test restults.

The office is beautiful. Reception was great! I didn't have to wait long to see the doctor. I saw dr. singh about my pityriasis rosea... she was really nice and helped me a lot. Already see a difference in my skin... I'm so thankful. I would highly recommend

Would not go back. I made my appointment for a skin screening online and filled in all the required paperwork before hand. Once I arrived to check in I had to re-fill out everything. Once I was brought back to the room, the physician looked at my skin for maybe 1 minute total and said everything was fine. I'm not an expert here but I imagine a skin screening should take more than 1 minute for my entire body. I have been to other dermatologists who have checked behind my ears and in my hair and on my feet and none of these areas were even looked at. I came in specifically for a concern on my back which I mentioned at the start of my appointment. The physician originally said everything looked fine but when I brought it back up he said "Yes, I am a little concerned about that mole, we should take it and test". If I didn't bring back up my concern he was going to let me leave with a mole he was "50/50" on? I don't think I should be the one telling the physician what mole to remove and test. So after my 2 minute appointment he took the mole only because I re-iterated my concern. I feel as if I need another skin screening because nothing was even done at my appointment.
