My experience with Dr. Shah was positive, which brought me back when I had a serious rash. I unfortunately got booked with Nicole who does not belong in the medical field and maybe could work at a spa. I made an appointment the day before for a serious issue and got the first appointment possible . I got stuck on the train (love the MTA - a 10 Min ride turned to 30) and called the receptionist to inform them of my situation and that I would be a few minutes late 5-10. The receptionist called me back and told me that Nicole would not be able to see me if I'm late. I apologized and begged her to try and squeeze me in. I said I would gladly wait until there was an opportunity, but I was desperate and uncomfortable and need to see a doctor ASAP. When I arrived extremely emotional the receptionist got me water helped me relax and informed me that Nicole would be able to see me at some point. I was extremely appreciative and happy to wait if it meant being seen and possibly getting relief, I felt bad about being late - but given the circumstances I was understanding of a wait. After waiting about 20 min, I heard Nicole speak to the receptionist in a way I wouldn't talk to a criminal, telling her to 'never do that to me again'. I manage a business and would never treat an employee like that. It shows character when the staff is not treated well. The receptionist came out and apologized to me and said Nicole won't see me, asked to reschedule - I thanked her and told her I would not be back; to which she said, 'I don't blame you'. That statement alone speaks volumes of what goes on there. Any true medical professional would have understood the situation and cared about patient needs - clearly Nicole is not that person and therefore should not have patients. Clearly since I was not getting a fancy cosmetic procedure my time wasn't valued enough. I hope Dr. Shah values her business and patients enough to know Nicole is clearly in the wrong field. Let's remember I was not coming in for a Botox injection, this was serious and any doctor would have recognized that. Very unfortunate.

I had such a wonderful experience at SmartrSkin Dermatology today. The medical assistant was so friendly and amazing. She was so helpful with my prescription and very thorough with my initial evaluations. Dr. Komal Pandya is exceptional. I came in for a cortisone injection for my cystic acne but she spend a good amount of time talking to me about my skin. She even noticed how my skin is dry and red. She thinks that I might have rosacea and have given me medication to reduce the inflammation of my skin. I will highly recommend her to my friends and family and anyone reading this comment.

DO NOT GO HERE. They refused to speak with my insurance provider on the phone to give prior authorization needed for them to cover it because "their aren't enough people working here to do that". I've been going with out my meds for days waiting on them. Nicole, the assistant, refused to work with me to resolve the issue. It's a terrible feeling having your medications withheld.

they tried to change my appointment day of. i was scheduled for a full review. the doctor (?) didn’t examine one single area of my skin aside from a mole on my face. i was very rushed and then sent off with some prescription that did not solve my problem in any way. a complete and total waste of my co-pay. would not recommend

Quick and efficient. In and out in less than 30 minutes, which is ideal when coming during the work day. The staff were incredibly friendly, which you don't usually get at health care offices. Very clean and modern looking office. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Shah is an amazing dermatologist! She is very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. The office staff is also very friendly. Dr. Shah took plenty of time with me and the visit was not rushed. She discussed treatment options and we came up with the best option for me. I've seen many dermatologists and this was absolutely the best experience I've had. I will definitely be returning.

The doctor and her assistant was very nice but I was mis-diagnosed with folliculitis when I really had a severe skin allergy. It was only when I got a second opinion from another doctor and was prescribed stronger antibiotics and steroids that I got better. I had to endure a week of severe itching and discomfort from the misdiagnosis. I also had to complain initially about a slow response to getting my prescription filled. The doctor however did take time to respond over the weekend which I appreciated. All is all if you have a common skin problem you shouldn't have any problem but I wouldn't recommend SmarterSkin for anything out of the ordinary based on my experience.

Seven years ago, I was experiencing severe hair loss. After seeing multiple dermatologists, I was referred to Dr. Shah by one of her colleagues. Dr. Shah was the only doctor that diagnosed my medical condition and came up with a plan to aggressively treat my hair loss. I wore a wig for 9 months and as you can imagine it was a very dark and depressing time for me. Eventually my hair began to grow under that wig and my hair grew in thicker than I could have ever imagined. Dr. Shah is a very compassionate and through physician. She is current on all new medical treatments in the field of dermatology. Dr. Shah, suggested there was an underlying medical problem that was causing my hair loss and referred me to my primary doctor. Through blood tests I found out I had Lupus, an autoimmune disease. I continue to see her for all of my dermatological needs. She is a true professional and I would never see anyone else. She has my trust…
