They went above and beyond in scheduling my procedure and dealing with my insurance company to make sure I was able to have the procedure as fast as possible. Dr. Struhl is a truly exceptional physician, from his intellect and surgical technique to his vibrant personality. I had a painless needle scope and probe procedure done in his office. Before starting, he thoroughly explained the procedure and during the procedure he explained each step in detail. He painlessly and effortlessly maneuvered around my shoulder to examine and identify the source of pain. Within seconds of starting the procedure he identified the issue and even after identifying the issue he continued the exam to confirm the diagnosis and to ensure there weren’t any additional injuries that could be causing my pain. After the procedure, we discussed my diagnosis and every possible solution before arriving at the course of treatment. Additionally, his professionalism, demeanor, and disposition are those of which every doctor should strive for!

I went in to see Dr. Struhl for shoulder pain that had been compromising every little movement in my life. I was scared for the most part because of what I saw on Google (PS: DO NOT LOOK ONLINE FOR ANY MEDICAL INQUIRIES - IT WILL ONLY FREAK YOU OUT!) but thanks to the visit, the pain is gone, my shoulder is back to normal and I have returned to my normal daily routine, including the gym. Dr. Struhl was friendly, patient and most of all SMART, EXPERIENCED and ABLE to diagnose and treat my ailment. I thought his staff was, for the most part - Grade A-mazing! Special thanks to Theresa and Fanny for making me feel as relaxed as possible during my time there. I can not stress how GREAT the overall experience was. I am in NO MORE PAIN!! Dr. Struhl is a ROCKSTAR. He should switch to a microphone instead of the old school little personal voice recorder he uses to record every instance of the office visit!! KUDOS!

Yelp and google have failed me this time.This was probably the worst doctors visit ever. Unfortunately, my experience was close to another reviewers'. The door was left open during my examination and people were walking by. This doctor was the most unprofessional doctor I had the displeasure of seeing. He walked out in the middle of my examination, to take a phone call about his computer which apparently couldn't wait. The whole appointment felt extremely rushed and lasted less than 10mins. But I'm sure he charged me and my insurance his full fee. I had an appointment at 12:30, I brought the filled out paperwork and arrived a few minutes early for my appointment and after already waiting for 25mins, I told the lady at the reception that I needed to leave by 1:30 and wanted to have enough time to talk to the doctor. I was called in a few minutes later for what was the quickest consultation ever, if you can call it that. I got nothing, absolutely nothing out the visit. I have no understanding of my pain , how to treat it, what I should be doing and what movements I should avoid. The doctor instructed his assistant to take me to see "Joe" and just abruptly walked out of the exam room. I never saw him again, I had more questions/concerns about my pain which I never got to ask. I was then brought to meet Joe, who turned out to be the in-house physical therapist, which i thought was very unprofessional without asking me first if I wanted to go to see the PT at his location. I declined PT and asked the lady at the reception, if that was it. She said yes, and gave me the prescription for physical therapy and I left their office by 1:10. I really thought at some point , I was going to get a proper explanation on what is happening with my shoulder and knee. Nothing! Oh, and earlier this evening I got a call from a pharmacy saying that my prescription was ready. What? What prescription? The doctor never talked to me about talking any prescription medication. I would not recommend going to this doctor for any type of sports injury or if you would like to have better understanding of your pain. This was a completely useless appointment and a total waste of time and money. I usually don't see doctors that often and unless I am in pain and concerned that my injury could lead to a serious one. I now have to go find an actual doctor to get my shoulder and knee looked at. Back to square one!

Dr.Struhl and his staff are amazing! I’ve been a patient for the past few years to monitor an old ACL repair. I run and my repaired knee started to flare up with pain and stiffness. I was worried the repair wasn’t holding up and I’d have to give up doing something that’s very important to me. Dr. Struhl has given me the confidence to know that my repair is intact and has given excellent advice on how to continue my activities and manage and reduce my flare ups. I’ve been seeing Dr. Struhl for a few years now becuse of my knee problems beginning when I was as a child. A few months ago I had a meniscus tear surgery & Dr. Struhl did the operation. I am very pleased with the results, thanks to Dr. Struhl I can now run a marathon again. Not only Dr. Struhl is an intelligent doctor, but the staff is also amazing. My injury happened during the busy holidays, and the office staff were able to schedule me for the surgery in just a few days. This was the worst experience that I had at a doctor. I went in for a knee injury. The doctor did not want to look at the X-ray that I brought in, upon his evaluation of my knee he thought I had a torn meniscus, set me up with physical therapy and said he would order an MRI. I called the office twice to see if to see about setting up the MRI. It took a week. The MRI showed that I had a fracture of the Padilla. Physical therapy could have caused more damage to my knee. A pharmacy called me to tell me they were sending me medication the doctor order, which his office never even spoke to me about. Needless to say I have not returned to that office. very disappointing.

I went to see Dr. Struhl for shoulder pain. He is the third doctor that I had seen for this condition. The other orthopedics advised me to physical therapy, with little knowledge of my condition. Dr. Struhl took the time to go over my injury, explain why I was in so much pain and methods on how to relieve the pain. As a football player, it is very important to me to gain full range of motion on my shoulder so that I can continue to play. I would recommend Dr. Struhl to anyone looking for clarification and relief of their pain. His staff was very kind and welcoming. The surgery was performed at Midtown Surgery Center on East 47th Street. The team there was really wondeful too. They took really good care of me. They called me the next day to make sure I was ok. I am still recuperating, but I would only go to Dr. Struhl for any knee or shoulder issues in the future. I highly recommend him!

My son had an appointment with Dr. Struhl on Tuesday 8/27/19 and Dr. Struhl ordered an MRI. I called the office on 8/30/19 to see if the MRI had been approved through my insurance and I was told that it had not and to call back on on Tuesday 9/3/19. I called today 9/3/19 to check the status of the approval and was told the MRI still had not been approved. I asked the receptionist if I should call the insurance myself and was told "No" this can take 2 1/2 weeks to get approved. I called my insurance company and was told no request for an MRI had been received from Dr. Struhl's office. I called Dr. Struhl's office again and was then informed that the request was never sent in due to the person in charge of doing that was on vacation.When I spoke to the lady in charge of this (I don't remember her name). She was very rude and her response was yea well I was on vacation and I'm doing it now. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she refused stating we all have our own jobs to do in this office. So you mean to tell me there is only one person in the office that does this paperwork and it's ok to leave a child in pain for over a week waitig for an MRI?????? Dr. Struhl was as far as I could tell a great doctor. It's a shame that his staff isn't truthful with his patients and are rude and have no regard for his patients well being.

Ironically, I've had the 'distinct' pleasure of working with Dr. Struhl and his team on two separate occasions. I first met him and his team after a bad AC separation. Dr. Struhl came very highly recommended and when I met him, it made sense as to why. He's very energetic, has a great bedside manner and really explained to me the pros and cons of his procedure. I felt he took the time to educate me and respected the position I was in as a patient. The surgery went off incredibly and my shoulder has never been so strong. I then injured my other shoulder, specifically tore the rotator and labrum. Again, I consulted with Dr. Struhl and his staff. Once again, he took the time to educate me on the pros and cons and explained the process with physical therapy. I am now through my second surgery with Dr. Struhl and once again, it went incredibly. I'm only about 4 months out from the rotator and labrum surgery and it feels great. I cannot say enough about Dr. Struhl AND his team. Everyone in his office knows my name, the treat me like I'm part of the family, they're responsive, compassionate, trustworthy and honestly, just wonderful people. They truly care about what they are doing and their professionalism transcends into the actual hospitals as well. This team is so well respected throughout the entire medical field!

We should always share the good news. I like to share how i suffered and struggle and was very miserable because i procrastinated to do knee surgery. I have osteo arthritis and Dr Struhl had recommeded partial knee replacement only where i had the damage. After two years i decided to take his advice and at this point i needed both knees. I had my first surgery in july and second surgery in mid August. Dr. Struhl did an amazing job i am pain free i can go up and down the stairs i have gain my mobility back. There is only one thing i regret NOT listening to Dr. Struhl when he told me two years ago. Thank you Dr. Struhl for giving me my knees and my confidence back. Oh one more tip request for Marc to do your stitches you can't even tell you had knee surgery and Dr. Struhl's girls at the office are wonderful. So if you have any of the symptoms with your knee or maybe other pain please feel free and contact him I did and I don't regret it.

I am a Judo athlete. In 2011, I was ranked number two in the country in my weight class. That year I represented the United States at one of the largest Judo competitions in the world, the Junior World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2012, at a national level tournament in Boston, I destroyed my shoulder - two ligaments, rotator cuff, and soft tissue tears as well as a broken shoulder bone. When the initial daze wore off, I remember lying on the floor with my heart beating so loud that I thought it would fly out of my chest. I felt like someone had put a ton of smoldering coals on my shoulder. The pain was so excruciating that I almost blacked out, but I was able to stand up on my own and walk off from the arena. After having my shoulder put back in place twice only to have it fall out again, it was clear that this was not just a dislocation. I was taken to a hospital and had an X ray done to ensure I was capable of the lengthy 5-hour drive home. Upon my return, I sought professional help from many. All of whom told me there was no hope. It was none other then the miracle worker Dr. Struhl who finally gave me hope by telling me that I could return to sports only if I underwent a major reconstructive surgery. I felt extremely nervous having my entire athletic career on the line of one surgery going well or not. My only safe haven was the undeniable fact that I with a seasoned pro, the best this field has to offer, Dr. Struhl. He was an emotional anchor for me, with his delightful humor, astonishingly amazing insight on my emotional state during this ordeal, and his genuine love of his job, he takes surgery to a whole new level. He took me a broken guy, both in body and spirit, one who was told that he will never compete again in any sport, and he did the seemingly impossible! He did not simply fix me, he made me whole past my previous limits, I am faster, stronger, and better then ever before! Last week was my first tournament back after almost a year of rehab and hard work, and I was a machine. A well oiled, highly effective super terminator like machine manufactured by Struhl Industries! Not only did I sweep through the competition like a breeze of fresh air, I took the gold in style finishing my final match in under a minute against the number one ranked Judoka in the country. I dedicated my first tournament back to a few people, my parents for supporting me, my team mates for there help, but most of all I dedicated it the gold medal performance to Dr. Struhl for painting me a new, and putting me back on the path of the 2016 Olympic Games! Lastly I would like to mention that, if you are ever in need of help, there are good level doctors, and then there is a Struhl level doctor. There can only be one best and he is most definitely it! If you are hurt he and his wonderful and extremely pleasant staff will heal you, and improve you. Dr. Steven Struhl performed surgery on me 15 years ago, I'd torn meniscus in my knee stemming from a car accident. His work was neat, clean, and I was back on my feet rather quickly. I never had a problem in that area again. As I type this testimonial I'm recovering from a different injury. Two years ago I ruptured my ACL and tore cartilage in my knee. In early August 2013, I had a freak and horrible bicycle accident that left me with a number of serious injuries including an AC joint separation type 3. And that at the age of 67 plus. I spent three days in the intensive care unit out of a week in the hospital, and seven weeks in a rehab center. After six months I recovered completely, except of course, my separated shoulder. I got a 100% rotational movement of my arm, had good strength and could use my arm as before. However, I could not do upper- body strength workouts like before, and at about 2 1/2 hours into a ride I would begin feeling fatigue on the side of the injured shoulder. In addition, I could not pull up on the handlebars on uphills while out of the saddle like before. While running I would feel a lack of support in my shoulder when I would pick up the pace. When the accident happened I was devastated. I was in great shape, and as always, healthy. I would give anything to get my physical integrity back and that's what I wanted. I wanted a surgery from the beginning, but my shoulder doctor at the time of the accident did not want to operate. He kept telling me that I could have the operation later and that it would be the same, but I was questioning that. The wound and the ligaments were fresh at the time of the accident and could be utilized in the reconstruction of the shoulder providing live support again. At the time, I was bed ridden for two months and was trying to recover from my other injuries, which included a fractured pelvis, six broken ribs, and a pneumothorax all on the same side. I kept thanking God it wasn't worse. I was lucky. When I was discharged by my shoulder doctor, I was told he wasn't going to operate on me. In October 2014, I discovered Dr. Steven Struhl on the Internet. I knew immediately that he was the doctor I wanted, the doctor I could trust to be operated on. It was important to me that I had no doubt. I called and made an appointment, went to see him, and I was booked for surgery one week later. I was happy and excited, and could not wait for the time of the operation. I was happy because only by an operation could my ac joint separation be repaired. Dr. Struhl did a fantastic job and I feel as good as new. I now have my physical integrity back again, which I was shocked to lose and was longing to get back. It's been a year since my category 5 AC shoulder separation repair surgery by Dr Struhl. I have a complete recovery, and am back to all my pre-injury activities. Full mobility, cycling 100+ miles/week, weight lifting 5 days a week. Pain free. His staff, nurses, PA, are all exceptional. Dr Struhl is one of those rare physicians with true empathy toward the patient, and makes time to ensure his procedures are fully explained, and that all questions are answered. He gave me his personal cell number. He checked in on me frequently from the day after surgery, through the initial months of recovery, and then every month or so thereafter. Not that I wish AC separation surgery on anybody, but... if you gotta have it, Dr Struhl is the best!!

I separated (AC separation)my shoulder and consulted with many orthopedic doctors, but none understood or knew how to fix it. I was told that there was no difference between surgery and non-surgical treatment. However after 3 months I couldn’t swim, and swimming had been my main exercise. Dr. Struhl correctly diagnosed me with a stage 5 separation, whereas the other doctors didnt have enough experience and incorrectly diagnosed me with stage 3. Dr. Struhl pioneered a way to make sure the AC separation is securely fixed in 3 dimensions. The post op discomfort for the next month or 2 was a small price to pay to get the use of my arm back) Dr, Struhl is THE expert. I recommend him most highly.
