I've been seeing Dr Degenhardt for several years now. He is absolutely incredible. He spends more time with me than any doctor I've ever been to. He's intelligent and very compassionate. I also like that he tends to lean towards alternatives and overall health, not just prescribing medicine. In fact, he doesn't seem to like prescribing medicine whenever there's an alternative to fixing your issues through lifestyle changes and that's something I've learned to really appreciate. Sorry to see the bad review on here. He seems like the opposite of what that person is saying.

I could not be happier with my experience with Dr. Degenhardt. I have recommended him to many friends, colleagues, and family. I've seen him for muscle pain, acupuncture, and more. He really listens, is very respectful and I'm fortunate to have found him!

Doctor was very stark, impersonal and condescending. Appointment was made after feeling ill after cleaning up rodent poop. When I arrived at the office I wasn't not greeted by the desk staff. When the receptionist read my insurance card she decided it was professional to shout out who my employer is. That was totally rude and a violation of my privacy. If I wanted everyone in the office I would have told them. That was a complete turnoff. After I was greeted by the doctors assistant who was nice. Soonafter, the assistant took me into small, congested room and began asking me questions. After I answered the questions and told the her about my illnesses she brought Dr. Degenhardt into the room. Dr. Degenhardt came off as a smartlaec and disregarded the issues I told him about. Dr. Degenhardt mocked that I researched online why I had the illness I had. Considering Dr. Degenhardt has bankers hours and was CLOSED during the time I experienced the illness my only recourse was search online why I was experiencing what I was because of exposure to rodent droppings. Dr. Degenhardt disregarded what I said and claimed there had to be some other reason I had a fever and a headache. Dr. Degenhardt suggested expensive testing to benefit his practice. I declined not because my insurance wouldn't pay for it, because they would, but because Dr. Degenhardt was pushy, cocky, disregarded my illness and impersonal. Needless to say, I will never go to Dr. Degenhardt's office again and will file a complaint on him with N.Y. State Doctor's Board.

Dr Degenhardt is in my opinion one of the best sports medicine doctors in NYC. He is incredibly experienced on an array of complex diagnosis and offers out of the box solutions that other Dr's would never even consider. Very intelligent, personable and explains his diagnosis in a way that allows you to really understand vs. the normal Dr. language. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

Dr. Degenhardt is a) brilliant and b) actually takes the time to understand his patients' ailments. Unusual for New York docs. He's the best.
