I’ve been seeing Dr. Altchek for probably 30 years. I initially went for some cosmetic reason but at that first visit he noted a very dark mole and, without alarming me, he persuaded me to have it removed. He saved my life — it was melanoma, luckily very early stage. Similarly, but under different circumstances, he has saved my husband’s life. He is an excellent diagnostician (he is quick to diagnose but that should not be misconstrued for carelessness), kind, a bit formal but very funny once you get to know him. I’m grateful to have him on my side. I travel from Northern Westchester for my checkups and he’s worth the time and trouble.
