I am absolutely thrilled to have found Sandia Vision! From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Haley, I got the best care and felt so valued! Thank you Steven...you're a great tech! Thank you Dr. Magnus for your attention to detail! I am also so grateful to Rachel, who, with incredible patience, helped me pick out a great pair of frames which I would not have picked out myself! I give my experience 5 stars!!!

My son was seen for a refraction (he needs glasses) and we were told insurance would cover it. After the appointment, they wanted us to buy glasses on site with the results of the exam and we were also told that insurance didn't cover the exam after all and that we had to pay in full otherwise we "would not be allowed to leave" (seriously). I spoke with the office manager, who was very defensive, did not show even the smallest amount of concern about either the insurance or with us being told we were hostages until they got a credit card number. He eventually acknowledged we could leave, but that we had to pay everything immediately. I asked to see my son's refractive results and was told that I could not see any records until payment was made in full. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Sandia Vision Clinic. I have literally never *EVER* experienced such shockingly unprofessional behavior in a doctor's office. I have requested to speak with the owner and have as yet to hear from them. UPDATE: Issue was resolved as well as it could be in speaking with the lead office manager (Cindy, who was very professional and helpful) when they sent me a bill many weeks after the incident.

I would list as WORST IN THE CITY. I visit with insurance, pay the copay, pay for glasses as I picked them up and then a few months later get a bill from collections. I am filing against them and posting negative posts everywhere I find a profile. Definitely, not a good business practice and I am taking my family vision needs elsewhere.

What ever you do, do not deal with these people. I have had numerous issues to include 1) eye glass prescription was canceled the same day it was placed for reasons that can’t figure out however when making my payment the following day they didn’t even notify me that it was canceled until 19 days later As I waited for the eye glass prescription to be filled only to tell me it was cancelled the same day it was done. 2) I requested a refund in which it’s been well over 2 weeks now and still nothing and when I called again regarding the refund they stated the last person I spoke to never noted the refund. Btw they said the refund would be in a form of a check that would take 10 days (still nothing) I gave it one star because I had to put something but In my opinion Sandia Vision Doesn’t even deserve so much as one star based off of their lack of professionalism and zero communication let alone the Competence to figure things out. If anyone has had a great experience with them then good for you but this is my experience and I will not be dealing with them going further other then to get my refund which wasn’t a small refund so if I do not receive it asap I will be filing a complaint with the consumer reporting agency. I had a piece of metal in my eye from not wearing safety glasses while grinding metal. I mistakingly went to an Urgent Care first and the doctor did not find anything. The pain was unbearable so I called Southwest Vision and left a message for the on-call doctor. My call was immediately returned by Dr. Melissa Hockett. She was very easy to talk to and on a Sunday met with me. Dr. Hockett easily removed the metal and my eye feels so much better. I recommend Sandia Vision to anyone who needs an optometrist. I highly recommend Dr. Hockett.

This was my first time to Sandia Vision and I can highly recommend them. They listened to my concerns and made the perfect pair of glasses that I can actually see out of. The staff and Doctors were friendly and helpful from the exam to picking up my glasses. When I first arrived, the waiting room was full. I remember thinking "this is going to take forever". On the contrary, they moved surprisingly quickly for as much attention as they spend with their patients. You need to remember that they are busy for a reason. It's because they provide a great service for their customers. I will be a repeat customer!

I've been coming to this location for 20+ years and the quality of customer service in the vision center has fallen off dramatically. I'm presently forty-five minutes into my wait for 'the lab' to finish whatever is needed whilst being reassured that the delay was related to the time it took to 'find them in the pile that came in yesterday'. Would that I could rate the medical end of the business separate, 5 stars.

The worst lab in town! This lab can't get anything right and they will blame you for their own mistakes, after making my glass four times there still not right. The lens on one side is mounted at a different depth in the frame then the other side, and the bevel on the edges is very messy. Very poor workmanship, and at top dollar I might add. When I pointed out their mistake I was rudly told I could have a refund because they wern't going to do anything for me again. If you want to pay top dollar for the worst workmanship then this is the place for you!!!

Got in and out at a reasonable but not rushed pace; everyone was so friendly and nice. My frame consultant was knowledgeable about what my insurance would cover and did not push me into spending more for extras I did not want/need and was upfront about warranty information and the like. Dr. Adams was the best! She made me feel at ease during the appointment and actually improved my prescription and gave me in depth information about my eye health. Though they may be priced higher than the "big box" eyeglass places (Eyeglass World, Costco, etc...) the way you're treated here is worth the little extra expense. Personalized and you feel like you're with people who really care.

Terrible, terrible place to get glasses. Avoid at all costs. I had had issues purchasing glasses with them a year ago (returning them multiple times to get fixed), and thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt this time. Should've listened to my instincts. Let me set the scene: You go in to get a new prescription. Their doctors are quite nice, as are their eye exams. Then you step into their glasses shop. They're quite helpful in getting you to spend money on glasses/lenses. Then you will wait three weeks as they have issues in making your glasses. At last, you get the call that they've come in! You rush over only to discover that the prescription is wrong and the polarization isn't right. You tell them this--they say it's because they're new glasses and take some time to get used to (not that you would know, you've only been wearing glasses your whole life). You come back the next day to get a refund and your insurance claim reversed. That's when the fun really starts. Once they have your money they're more than content to treat you like crap, all the while not giving you your money back! Go to EyeGlassWorld. Spend way less, get treated better, and get your glasses sooner. That way you don't have to deal with Sandia Vision Cancer, or their awful parking lot.

While I agree with the negative reviews about the desk service, it's never been so bad that I don't want to go back again. They are often incompetent and sometimes unfriendly, but I've had it way worse at other places. Their main flaw is being slow. I didn't get any reminders about my appointment this time and almost went on the wrong day. Despite this, everyone was very friendly. The doctor was good at his job and he answered all my questions that I had, "Why are you doing that? Do you have to do that?" He explained in detail (with pictures) why he was doing what he was doing. Going to pay wasn't too bad, but as I said, I am also not fond with their front desk people. It seems every time I go in there's somebody who needs to be trained so it tends to be a little slow. When I left I had to get my glasses checked because the frame popped out and the guy I asked for help was very courteous. He even noticed that the nose pieces weren't sitting right and fixed that for me too. At the end, they gave me solution and cloth to clean my glasses with. Overall it was a good experience and I highly recommend this place.

They were friendly, though a little pushy, when I placed the order of my glasses. A week later they called me to pick it up. I got there quickly, but this time the experience was not good at all. The front desk lady was not friendly or patient. Only two people were serving people picking up their products and there was a long line of customers waiting. I was kept waiting for more than 40 minutes and had to leave because of other schedules. My feeling is that as long as they get your money out of your pocket, then they don't care about you at all.

If I could give a negative rating, I definitely would. My husband and I went for our exams, he picked out the glasses he wanted. The next day I went for my contact fitting, 20 minutes later they took me back and they told me they would be back in 10 minutes to check on me. After sitting there for a full hour, so I took the contracts out and walked out. Three days after my husband's glasses were ordered, Sandia Vision called and asked me which glasses my husband wanted....all this for glasses that were over $500. In addition, we went in 3 separate times to pick them up, only to be told that there had been a "problem at the lab," and they weren't ready. Mind you, we live and hour outside of town so each trip took approximately three hours. We cancelled his glasses, insisted a refund, and went to Walmart, got glasses for $150 cheaper and had my new glasses in 3 days!!!! And Walmart had MUCH better customer service!!!

We were being helped to get my daughter replacement glasses and the lady walked off then my daughter picked out her glasses and we got pushed back behind 4 patients we were in front of and they had the nerve to seat other customers where we had set down our purses and belongings cell phones fortunate we saw the other worker seat people where we were being helped ......And I'm handicap

Got a pair of glasses I cannot wear. It took 3 attempts to even see anyone to talk about making any changes. Waited for over an hour to see someone the third time. Once they make the sale they could care less about if your glasses actually help you. Would have given them zero stars but that isn’t possible.

Sandia Vision Clinic is nothing but a scam , they just want you to spend the most you can…My brother has a lazy eye and the optometrist at Sandia Vision Clinic told us that he would need new lenses every two months because that's how often his vision would change Then tried to forced us to buy the most expensive pair of glasses and when we ordered them , they never came in. Over the summer in Colorado he got hit in the eye (the lazy eye one) by a baseball going extremely fast in . So he had to see an optometrist in Colorado and they said his prescription was only a 20/30!!While Sandia Vision Clinic said his would be over 20/50 in prescription lenses.

I've been going to the Sandia Vision Clinic for over 13 years. I have gone to two different offices (one during my working years and another one since retiring. In all cases, I've been impressed with the quality and depth of my eye exams and the quality of the eyeglass lenses and (when needed) new frames, as well as the eyeglass fitting processes I've been through. I have also appreciated the referrals they've give me for other services at other providers, including for cataract surgery. I enthusiastically recommend Sandia Vision Clinic to anyone needing eyeglass exams and/or eyeglasses.

Way Way overpriced!! Like $600-800 glasses expensive...no. Here’s what I suggest (this is what we did): go buy a membership at Costco for $60-90/yr, then look at their glasses selection, which is just as good and closer to the $100-200 range. Buy the glasses, have them made/fit for free at Costco and then use the money you saved to renew your membership for years and years to come! Same glasses and a Costco membership for years! Don’t go to Sandia Vision Clinic, total rip off, I couldn’t believe how expensive they are....I’d give 0 stars but it wasn’t an option. I hope this helps you in your search for glasses

I used to have nothing but good things to say about Sandia Vision. However, in the past month, my experience has been so awful that I'm looking to find another doctor. I went to the eye doctor for my regular yearly appointment, and got trial lenses. I didn't like them; I just couldn't see well. I put in some lenses of an old prescription that I still had and found that I could see great. Gave that prescription to the doctor and told him how much I had liked it, to please order me that one. He ordered the ones he had gave me originally, even though I had explicitly told him those didn't work for me. I took the boxes back immediately. The ladies at the desk had NO record of the prescription that I had asked for. I had to make another appointment and went back to the doctor after being unable to see for a week. He finally agreed to order the ones that I had asked for. I called them two weeks later, and found that order never even got placed. I also asked if I would have to pay for new boxes, since it was their mistake that I had to return the original order, and they said yes, I would have to pay for a replacement. They said they'd "put in a message for the doctor, but that's all they can do right now." I've called back several times and gotten nothing but an answering machine. SERIOUSLY?! I don't know if I'm ever going back to Sandia Vision, this is ridiculous.

I received a great exam, but they billed my insurance for glasses when I didn't buy them from there. Management should probably step up their game if they would like to continue business. Never again!!!

I have had positive experiences with Sandia Vision. I am currently seeing Dr Cohen for my contact lens needs. I have a special eye issue that have kept me from wearing contacts for 12 years. Dr Cohen has recently been able to fit me in contact lenses. I have also seen Dr Chinisci and Dr Fite, both great doctors. My family had seen Dr Fite for over 20 years before he joined Sandia Vision. He has taken care of some special vision issues in my family and I would highly recommend him. I have used the Eubank and the Nob Hill locations, I would say if you are unhappy with someone at either location, I would not let that stand in my way of being seen by some really caring doctors. They seem to go the extra mile to make sure your vision needs are taken care of.. I personally have never had any problems with the staff... you may want to try the Nob Hill location they are not quite so crowded and busy?!? Just a thought.

I had not been in for an eye exam in over 10 years when suddenly, earlier this month, I experienced what I later learned was a posterior vitreous detachment. The sudden appearance of inky black floaters across my whole field of vision concerned me greatly. I didn't have a regular eye doc, but a friend had mentioned SVC to me a while back, so I called that Friday afternoon out of the blue and explained my predicament. Within 2 hours I had an exam with Dr. Cohen, who was pleasant, kind, and professional. She explained what had happened and scheduled me for a followup in which she called in another doc to confirm the diagnosis. I have yet to have an eye exam for glasses, since the floater is slowly dissipating, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to this clinic or to recommend it to anyone seeking excellent eye care.

Sandia vision couldn't figure out my contact prescription for months. One time I went to pick up my trial contacts and they had no idea what trial pair they were supposed to give me so they handed me three pairs and told me to guess. They've been late to appointments to the point they had to get another doctor to see me because I was waiting 30+ minutes. My current doctor forgot to order my trial pair of contacts and hasn't been accessible for a month or so. Every time I call now I'm on hold for 15+ minutes until I hang up out of frustration. I have left messages that don't get returned. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with an eye doctor.

My family has been going to this place for years and have nothing but good things to share. This past summer of 2014 was my first experience there. It was good the doctor and the staff were great. My bad experience didn't occur until I went to pick up my glasses. I payed for my lenses in cash the full amount and left the clinic. Unfortunately my lenses did not fit correctly, the case that they provided me with squashed my glasses and a month later I got a bill saying I still owed a balance. I used to have nothing but good things to say about Sandia Vision. However, in the past month, my experience has been so awful that I'm looking to find another doctor. I went to the eye doctor for my regular yearly appointment, and got trial lenses. I didn't like them; I just couldn't see well. I put in some lenses of an old prescription that I still had and found that I could see great. Gave that prescription to the doctor and told him how much I had liked it, to please order me that one. He ordered the ones he had gave me originally, even though I had explicitly told him those didn't work for me. I took the boxes back immediately. The ladies at the desk had NO record of the prescription that I had asked for. I had to make another appointment and went back to the doctor after being unable to see for a week. He finally agreed to order the ones that I had asked for. I called them two weeks later, and found that order never even got placed. I also asked if I would have to pay for new boxes, since it was their mistake that I had to return the original order, and they said yes, I would have to pay for a replacement. They said they'd "put in a message for the doctor, but that's all they can do right now." I've called back several times and gotten nothing but an answering machine. SERIOUSLY?! I don't know if I'm ever going back to Sandia Vision, this is ridiculous.

My ophthalmologist is wonderful, but the customer service is terrible. For the past 3 or 4 years I've gone here, NOT ONCE have I not been put on hold when I called. They have it set up so the person helping patients has to answer the phone and they're ALWAYS with a patient. I immediately get put on hold for several minutes EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALL and they get upset at you if you tell them you don't have time to hold. It's exhausting and I dread having to call Sandia Vision for anything because I know a two minute conversation will take 10-15 minutes of my time. I wish my eye doctor worked for someone else. It just happened again, of course. I wish they could figure this out already. And while I'm raving on here, I wish they could make an invoice that is discernible - jeebus what a cf of random payments. You'd think it was a three day hospital stay instead of an eye exam and contacts.

Not happy with the experience I received.... Went in explained to the Dr the problem did the eye exam which was plesent until my glasses came in 7 days later ended up not working for me they said it was probably the measurements so they sent them back to the lab.. another 7-9 days they came back.. I waited to get called up by a optician and sat me down then just left for the day to keep me waiting longer then finally got my glasses again to only be wrong again to find out the DR only gave me a prescription for not being able to see far... Rather than both when I told him from the beginning my current prescription I could see fine up close but it was the far seeing part of my glasses that stopped work for me... So I wasted 250$ for my initial glasses now I have to pay an additional 90$ to have it all fixed and corrected.... I didn't not enjoy my service one bit and after I get my glasses fixed will probably not got back again...

I have been wearing contacts and glasses for 15 years now. I do know the procedure of an eye exam and what is to be done. I moved recently to ABQ and needed a new optometrist so i decided to try this one out. I will never go back to this place ever! First off, i was rushed through the whole exam! Alot of young people, so rushed through everything and also not informed well. Anyway, when i went to check out, she charged me for a charge that i have NEVER been charged for, "a contact try-on???" $60!!! She said because i tried on one of their contacts they gave me, which my old optometrists never did. They always gave me a free pair to have until my contacts came in. Then i went to pick up my contacts a week later and they said i was covered and went on my way. Couple of months later i get a bill for $130! They told me the insurance never covered my contacts? So i told them to run it through again and let me know if there is any problems. This was in June, i got my exam in Jan. Months go by and nothing, so I think it got taken care of. Jan, a YEAR later, i get a call from collections! Saying i owe them $150!! I never got another call and even checked my phone history! NOTHING!!! Also to make it worse, the contacts they gave me were too strong and gave me headaches every day! I thought something was wrong with me until i decided to go without contacts and wear my glasses and boom! No more headaches! I told them about this and they said they can only give me credit on any UNOPENED boxes.. umm i only buy one box because my prescription keeps changing every year. Plus i dont want credit! I dont want to go back there!!! This is a never ending horror story with them! Never ever again!!!!

First year, went to Sandia Vision Clinic in 2010, they were very nice, I went to the Eubank location, doctors were good. 2nd year, 2011 went to the Hermosa Location in Nob Hill, had the same doctor, everything was nice as well. 3rd year, 2012 and most recent experience with them, makes me never want to go back there again. My husband and I both had our annual eye exams done. We were at the office for 2 hours. People who came in after had already gone and finished, and we were still there for some reason. The doctor was really good. However, when it came time to order our glasses, we were first led to some rack in the back for our insurance covered glasses, then we were told my husband's glasses would be completely covered by the insurance and so would mine. I was getting sunglasses with prescription lenses. Until it came time to pay, at which point, they charged me for the sunglasses, which is fine, but it would have been nice to know when we asked what was covered in the first place. They refused to print out a receipt for us, saying the system was down and they would send it out the next day via mail. Well, a week goes by, and i call them for the receipt, and they still haven't sent one out, they say they will do it next week. I need the receipt for the flex card claim form. So, we decide to go there today (more than 2 weeks after our initial appointment) to just pick up the receipt and my husband's glasses. The girl at the front spent 20 minutes staring at the screen in front of her "getting the receipt". Also, apparently we have a balance on our account, of some new charges that they did not mention last time. One of which was for my husband's glasses, which we asked to make sure that everything would be covered, since these were going to be his backup pair. The other charge is on my glasses as well, and some additional co-pays apparently. I am not happy with those since before paying, two weeks previously I asked them three times if the amount was correct for both my husband and me. At this point the receptionist asks if I want to speak to her manager, I say yes, and her staring into the screen continues. After about five minutes, I ask if she is going to call the manager, to which i get a reply of "Well do you want me to get your receipt or speak to the manager?" ah...at this point, i just really want both. The manager? Turns out she was sitting right next to her the ENTIRE time and didn't say anything. Great. We ended up having to pay the extra fees, which they forgot to charge the previous time apparently and also forgot to mention them the two times I called. Also, my receipts are really screwed up too. It is not an itemized, detailed receipt. Their charges make absolutely no sense. If you do go, make sure to get the receipt right away and hope they don't charge you with extra charges the next time you go talk to them. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Doctors are really good and really nice, but really not worth it dealing with the administrative staff.

Frank Chinisci is a wonderful diagnostician and those skills plus his up to date and extensive knowledge about the ideal treatment is invaluable. He saved my eye from losing any vision when I had an extreme case of shingles on the cornea. I will be eternally grateful. He has also helped me through two subsequent episodes which are always expected once the eye has been damaged. He and his staff find time on his busy schedule to see me whenever is necessary...even when it has been necessary to see him every day during an active outbreak. Possibly the worst optometrist appointment I have ever had, and I've been in glasses for over 20 years. Dr. Estrada made me feel like my concerns were a hassle. That I was just a number in her salary. When I asked for contacts she seemed almost put out to have to do that for me. Then during my contact fitting she just stuck her finger in my eye! No warning! I have never felt so violated! Last year when I got glasses from them both pairs were so bent that they could barely get them to stay on my face. I left this place awhile ago because they could NOT get my contacts right. I decided to come back for glasses only. The appointment went good and he handed me some trial contacts. Which I specifically said I only wanted glasses, but I took them. I went to check out and had a huge bill. Talk about trying to up sell. They're so deceitful. I complained and none of them cared. Possibly the worst optometrist appointment I have ever had, and I've been in glasses for over 20 years. Dr. Estrada made me feel like my concerns were a hassle. That I was just a number in her salary. When I asked for contacts she seemed almost put out to have to do that for me. Then during my contact fitting she just stuck her finger in my eye! No warning! I have never felt so violated! Last year when I got glasses from them both pairs were so bent that they could barely get them to stay on my face. I decided to try again because Dr Hockett was amazing! Now I'm not sure.... If you do try this place make sure your not getting Estrada as your doctor.

Not having had an eye exam for nearly a decade, I went to this Eubank location of the Sandia Vision Clinic for a contact lens exam in mid-March of this year (2013). The service was….not good. I was not given the opportunity to remove my contacts prior to the exam, which flustered both the tech and my optometrist, Dr. Lauren Bobick, when I informed them of this—as if this isn’t something that every person wearing contacts would need to do prior to an eye exam. While my tech (can’t remember his name—short Hispanic guy) demonstrated pretty good customer service skills, Dr. Bobick clearly did not want to be there. She was, at best, curt, and, at worst, standoffish. She was clearly annoyed at the fact that I didn’t know the exactitudes of my contact prescription (the reason I scheduled the eye exam in the first place), and stated outright that I was going to be charged for a full contact exam in addition to the normal eye exam. That was fine with me, and was what I walked into the clinic thinking would be the case: my current insurance (Davis Vision Basic) covers a regular eye exam, and up to $200 for contacts, but it does not cover the contact exam per se. Thus, I was prepared to pay the ~$137.00 necessary to cover the contact exam. To my surprise, the tech informed me that Sandia would be able to use the $200 contact allowance to cover the contact exam, and that I was good to go. As you can imagine, I thought that was awesome! I chocked Dr. Bobick’s undesirable bedside manner to this being Albuquerque (if you’ve lived here as long as I have—25 years—you know what I mean) and left with a smile on my face. Cut to yesterday (07/02/13), when, lo and behold, I received a bill from Sandia Vision for my contact lens exam, nearly four months after the fact. Unfortunately, I could not remember the name of my tech, and I failed to obtain some kind of receipt/bill on the day of my exam showing exactly how my charges were going to be covered. Needless to say, that seemed pretty shady. This morning, I called Sandia Vision and spoke with a Megan (sp?) about my bill. I explained everything to her, and then asked her why this would have happened, particularly why I was told that my lens allowance could be used to cover the exam. She was unable to answer this, stating that she had never heard anything like this, that they were understaffed, and simply kept repeating that my insurance didn’t cover contact lens exams. When I asked her why it took so long to receive a bill, she blamed it on my insurance company. At least she was cordial, which is more than I can say about Dr. Bobick. In sum, my check is in the mail, but I will not ever return to Sandia Vision Clinic, and I advise you to avoid this place at all costs. If you feel inclined to go here, or it’s your only option, make sure that you get something with your charges in writing on the day of your exam (easier said than done; just read the other negative reviews of this place).

I recently went to have my eyes checked for a new glasses Rx. Instead, I was notified that i have bad Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and I cannot get a new Rx until I spend $1,000 out of pocket for a procedure not covered by insurance. I then went to an actual eye doctor, opthamologist, and was told that this procedure is definitely not necessary and I do not need to spend the money and my eyes are healthy for my age. I will never go back to this place again. I felt like I was working with used car sales people and I felt taken advantage of. Be sure to get a second opinion on everything these people tell you.

Over twenty years of being a patient at this optical clinic. Never, ever, again. The first time I went to pick up my glasses, the bridge was soldered on off center. (Two weeks waiting wasted.) The second time I went to pick up my glasses, learned the staff member had failed to reorder the bridge piece, they were the same, unfixed glasses. Assured by staff member the new bridge piece would be ordered and "It will only take 15 minutes to swap out the piece when it comes in". (Another week wasted.) The third time I went to have the bridge piece fixed, I was informed by a staff member, "It will take forty five minutes, at least, to have it fixed." And, I had to sign a disclaimer if they break, scratch, or damage the glasses in any way, they are not responsible. The fourth time I went to pick up the glasses, the new bridge is just as bad as the first one. Thus far, I have wasted four hours driving and fuel, almost four weeks waiting, and paid too much money to end up with a defective product, their staff failed to fix. Epic fail. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I was so surprised at the prices! With my insurance (Davis Vision), for TWO pairs of glasses with frames that I LOVE, for only $140. Even without insurance, they have a special on now for $70 a pair ... not STARTING at $70. Why have I been spending $500 per two pair??? Kara was awesome. I'm disabled and she helped me find my perfect frames!

I was told my glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 business days its been 15 business days and still haven't received my glasses i call one day and waa told my lens are in and they're waiting on the frames call a few days later and was told theyre waiting on the frames and that they'd be in the following day. I have had dry eyes and had been prescribed Restasis for the past 3yrs. The redness and pain in my eyes were always red and painful from the time I woke up until I slept. My vision with my eyeglasses was becoming difficult to see my computer screen and reading. Every time I would see an optometrist they would prescribe steroid drops and continue me on Restasis. I heard from a co-worker about this process he was doing for his dry eyes from a Dr. Melissa Hockett at Sandia Vision Clinic. He was saying how great the results were and how his Dry Eyes condition was improving. I knew that the path I was on and nothing changed. I made an appointment to see Dr. Hockett to see if there’s any hope for my condition. I opted to have the Lipiflow procedure. During this process I could feel my eyes tear and lubricate themselves naturally. I was told to follow a regiment of gel lubricant, heat pack, and a different prescription drops for my eyes. Now the first time they tested my eyes for dryness, I blinked and my time for my eyes to show any lubrications was 0 seconds. After 45 days, at my latest check up my eyes were tested and my time is now 7 seconds. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with the care and results I have received. My eyes are no longer red, dry, burning, or itching. The service received by all the staff, receptionist, technicians is refreshingly courteous, willingness to answer all your questions, fast and knowledgeable. I know that I will continue using Sandia Vision Clinic for all of mine and my wife’s needs.

Would like to state that the medical side for examinations was great! Professional, prompt and, knowledgeable. On the other hand the optics side was a completely different story, I am writing this this 4 weeks after my initial visit returning home without my new glasses and awaiting a refund for my purchase! Was originally told it would be 7-14 days, after 6 my wife's glasses where ready the next day I called to inquire about mine, I was told they would be ready the next week... Called back and was informed that it would be the end of that week and when I called that Friday I was told Monday. Called Monday to be told Tuesday. Called Tuesday to be told they didn't even have lenses for my glasses!!! I spoke to the office manager that told me they would put a "rush" job on my glasses but it would most likely be the next Monday for them to be ready. I then get a call at the end of the week and that my glasses would be done and ready to pick up on Monday. So this morning I get a call telling me my glasses would be ready this coming Thursday and when I inquired why the difference, I was told the lab had just got my lenses and needed to process them!!! The two times I have visited the optics side I have heard other customers going through the same issues! I have requested a refund and my glasses to be returned. Horrible unprofessional customers service, lies from staff and smoke blown up my back side from the office manager. I understand that after 37. Years of wearing glasses that it may take a couple of days, even a week to get a pair but I really like the frames I have and got them with new lenses twice elsewhere and new insurance led me to Sandia Vision for close and convenient location. Get your eyes examined and go elsewhere for glasses.

I decided to come here because it was where I went last time with no problems and my prescription is very difficult. I wear progressive lenses, which should have been in my chart. For whatever reason they ordered me single lenses, which wasn't caught until I waited the 2 weeks for them to come in. So they had to reorder them. After waiting another 20+business days and not hearing anything I called them for them to tell me they didn't pass inspection so they had to be sent back. This happens frequently with my lenses, but if it does I always get a call and compensated in some way. When I complained about not being informed about what was going on all the "manager" kept saying was that they don't control what happens at the labs.its now been close to 7 weeks and I still can't read.

The receptionists, technicians, doctors, and folks who help with the glasses have always been friendly and professional. The exam seems comprehensive and questions are always answered. The selection of frames and lens features are very large. And, the clinic always does a great job helping me understand what my insurance will pay for (and will not pay for). Definitely recommend.

I would highly recommend this location for actual eye exams -- the medical side seems to be fantastic. I'd go somewhere else to get your glasses, tho. Service is incredibly slow, which is irritating and a huge hassle even though the people were nice. And they made no attempt to actually fit my glasses to my face. I love my glasses, but I'm going to have to figure out where to go to get them adjusted to stay put, because I won't be going back here.
