If I could give this place a 0 I would. ER was as close to a nightmare as a nightmare can get. Worst experience of my life came in with untorable pain at 8 am after 9 hours in the emergency room with little communication from the nurses and never seeing a doctor for those 9 hours my diagnosis was that I had a ruptured cyst and blood had extended to my abdomen(same thing happened last year and I was immediately operated on I was at UNM). After hours of waiting for any type of communication about was going to happen. I get admitted and transferred without even seeing a nurse or any type of explanation. On the new floor the nurse was very polite at this point I was crying from pain and frustration. I explained I wanted to see a doctor and that why was I being admitted ofcourse she didn't have much of an answer either finally after an hour passes by the GYN stopped by he was already going home so upon my request he decided to introduce himself. He explained to me that I was there for pain management and to keep an eye on my hemoglobin level at this point they were around 12. He told me that if it keeps dropping he would have to operate. Throughout the night it continued to drop by 5 am I was at 9.2. After hours of trying to find out what was happening and not getting any answers I had to call for a patient advocate and the charge nurse( I do not blame the staff as they were very polite I just couldn't believe how this doctor plays with peoples life) by 10 am I requested another blood work and it has elevated to 10 another doctor comes in and tells me he is discharging me that the blood in my stomach will go away on it's own to rest and take pain pills. I asked the nurse if I could request a second opinion and she said that they dont do that. I wanted to make sure that my hemoglobin wasnt going to drop again and the test came back I was back at 9.2 the doctor said it was fine and that I could go home with blood in my stomach, low hemoglobin and scrutiaing pain. Please if you find yourself on the way to this hospital change direction. All they did was give me pain pills and never fixing the problem. No communication and the doctors dont care about you.

Cancer center. I sure wish I had the perfect cancer that causes no pain and suffering. Unfortunately what's left of my life will get no help from this outfit. They only look at blood work and completely ignore the patient's suffering and symptoms. If you have a cancer that causes no pain, this place might be o.k. If your suffering and in mystery don't bother going here, take your cancer somewhere else. The setting for the cancer center is nice, but that's where nice ends, MD's with closed minds.

Radiology dept is ran by a bunch of rude “children”. People come in with health problems with the intention of being treated with care. That DOES NOT happen at this facility! You have to wait to wait?! Trish at the front desk is also pretty clueless and rude!! The sign says to register first. It would help if the sign said where to register as apposed to them being rude when you interrupt the receptionist when shes doing nothing from the get go but sitting there

My wife came in with a deep dog bite, deep puncture wounds. We waited in the waiting room for over 2 hrs before being brought back to a room by a rude triage nurse. All the nurse did was put her on the bed, hand her the remote and say "green gets you tv, red gets you help if you need it", then she walked out. She never asked how her conditions or pain had worsened in the 2 hours we sat in thr waiting room while people complaining of coughs were seen before her.... I'll never come back to this hospital.

We just had our first baby, Donna was the best nurse ever! Other nurses were also great. Donna had the magic touch and could always get Sawyer to sleep. Also Dr Cox was great as was our anesthesiologist Andrew. Dr Dundate is also great.

I'd give it less then 1 star if possible. After waiting in the ER for more than 3 hours and being told time after time that we were next AND after watching other patients come and go (funny how the nurses seemed to know those people) we decided to leave. When we told the nurses we were leaving they asked us to sign a AMA release form. Give me a break. We weren't signing anything especially if we never even saw a doctor. Guess you have to know the nurses or doctors to actually get help at this ER. Good luck people hopefully you know someone here, or have an open wound. I'm sure you'll still get better service by knowing someone.

Really disappointed. I'm not one to usually write a review, but the experience there was really bad. I took my husband there after he fell off of a ladder. He was triaged, but I couldn't believe that he had to wait for hours, without any one coming into the waiting room to see if he might need anything. Maybe an ice pack or something for the pain. He waited for 7 hrs with a broken wrist, 2 fractured ribs, and a chipped spine! Not acceptable. Not much better when we got back finally to see the 1st.

Rust Medical Center is way over staffed with unprofessional children. I've waited in the ER in agony while the young girls sat behind a desk laughing and gossiping, using the F-bomb one of them turned out to be my PA. And during another visit, a couple young girls were discussing their weekend party plans while giving me an intra-vaginal sonogram, then a third girl just opened the door wide and walked right in to join them as if it were the break room. I wish there were more medical facility options.

RUST's ER is HORRIBLE and so are the physicians!!! I am a Licensed Social Worker and Care Coordinator. Time after time I've heard horror stories from my clients about the inhumane service they received while at RUST hospital. I too have experienced this when I had an emergency. My husband took me there a few years ago when I was having severe stomach pain caused by a pancreatitis. I had to wait for 4 hours in the waiting room doubled over in pain and shivering with cold before they put me in a room and then finally admitted me. They seem to very judgmental, cold hearted and uncaring! I actually give them NO STARS!

Have been using Presbyterian Rust Medical Center since they opened and are a welcomed facility. I have had heart surgery there and my wife has had shoulder surgery and foot surgery. We have been pleased with all our dealing at this facility.

Went to apply for a job in the cafeteria & no one would come talk to me. Sent me away to be told to look on line. Lame set up! Watched kitchen for an hour & all the staff hung out around the cashier. 1.95$ for old coffee made too strong, no fresh milk or creamer. Center salad bar dirty. No hot food ready. The guy doing hot dogs & grill cheese was clean but no smile. He was like a drone.

Julianna Leyba

Bathrooms are disgusting. The wait is horrible. And the check in clerk was rude. Horrible experience tonight.

I went to the ER for a broken wrist I was told to go to the to go to another wing of the hospital one day later so I go to get a cast and mind you I don't have insurance but the only way I could see the doctor was to pay $100 out of pocket so now I'm left without a cast and a messed up wrist for the rest of my life

If I could give this hospital a rating of zero I would. It is like the majority here states, that none of the doctors or nurses really care about anything but a paycheck. My 85 yr old grandmother was treated with the least respect anyone could have gotten. Waiting time for anything to happen is ridiculously long while nurses talk and gossip with each other. Doctors are seldom around, going home turning off their phones, they didn't care to fill out forms or type on their computers about my grandma's situation, they lost her info, no one knew who she was the doctor who decided to do surgery on her went home and turned off all communication so for several hours nothing was done. Her bed folded on her and she needed help but no one helped her.. The list goes on and on. I would come to the conclusion that they could has possibly been racist but finding out with these comments they treat most patients as if we're all equally worthless.

Ferdinand Abaloyan

My daughter waited for 4 hours with her infant child who had a 102 degree fever. They had to give up and go elsewhere. I'd give them zero stars but I need to give at least one star for the system to take my comment.

Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had.

I brought my elderly 94 year old father in to the ER. He needed an IV. There were two nurses who attended to him. They failed to disclose that one was a nurse in training. She practiced and blew his vein. My father was already in pain... there was no empathy or concern displayed. He was told not to flinch or tense up. WHAT??!!?? They hurt him. After he was admitted, I tried no less than seven times to call to check on him the next day. The nurse assigned to his care never responded. I witnessed and was informed that they all carry phones. I was informed by a nurse who answered that nurses phone that the nurse left her phone on the desk and was not carrying it. I left my name. (Please note: My name is written on his wall with my number..... ) I received NO callback. It wasn't until I was able to speak with the Charge Nurse, that I got any answers and updated on my dad's condition. Is there not an oath? What happened to care? I am beyond disappointed.

Paul Nielsen

Kidney stones waited over five hours in the emergency room. One attendant said oh well since they didn’t vote for the bond issue we haven’t expanded services. Another attendant comes in and says the doctor is waiting for the CAT scan results...that were done over two hours ago and received on my phone via MyChart. I know there are other patients with greater needs but their incompetence through the five hours of taking up a room is a NO vote.

Adelina Prochnow

Truly one of the worst places I have ever been. People go to the hospital as a last resort, not to be treated like your trying to get drugs or an IV. I went in with a fever, weezing in my chest and pain in my lower back. I knew I need to get a breathing treatment, that I was low in oxygen which you could tell by the color of my face and lips. The nurse, asked if I had dealt with anxiety and that this is probably a panic attack. But yet they wanted to take blood samples and set me up on an IV. The nurse that tried to get an IV in wouldn't even look at me, he spoke about himself not being good at his job and how we will just have to see how it goes. He blew out two of my veins and it wasn't until my mother requested for a new nurse; when he threw down his gloves and didn't clean up after himself. We waited there another hour and no one came. They were all standing in a large group taking selfies. EVERYONE in this hospital should be sued. They took a vow when they came into the medical field and if how they function yesterday is how they are normally. They have all broken it. CLOSE THIS HOSPITAL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES ON THEIR WATCH!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!! BEWARE!!!!

Marcus devlin

The staff here is unbelievable. EVERY PERSON, whether it be nurse, Dr, janitor, or grill was so nice, so comforting, and attentive. Dr Rice is the absolute best, more thorough Dr I've ever encountered. Taking extra time to explain every part of any procedure and did so with a smile. Nurses were the same way. I seriously wonder if they only hired nice, understanding people! !!!

Lore Casaus

What a disgusting emergency room. Filthy bathrooms. Filthy triage rooms with cobwebs on the walls. Dirty sinks. Trash on floors. Something brown splattered on the walls. Oh sad very sad.

jade sena

Worthless HOSPITAL!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited 3 hours no one came, no one even checked on us. Boyfriend needed stitches and no one even so much as looked at the wound. Ended up leaving.

Shaunna Justus

Ive had the worst experience here. There's ZERO communication and no one has been helpful towards me. Its been TWO weeks of me trying to get an inhaler. No one's pointed me in the right direction, no ones given me information. It sucks. All they keep saying is ok we'll send a message. Then I get no reply back and nothings changed then today I call to see if there has been an update on my prescription and nothing!!! I get transferred to pulmonary the lady tells me, "oh I can't help you, you're going to have to call your doctor" I asked her if she could give me a number because I have no idea what the number is. She said no. All i have is my nebulizer, and when I work doubles at my job my asthma acts up and since I don't have an inhaler I just have to wait until I get home. I've had breathing problems since birth, have partial lung removal, and no one is doing a single thing to help me. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I’m only giving a “1” because zero is not an option. Took my elderly mom to the ER with a head injury from a fall. Waited 2 hours in the waiting room and was never seen. Saw the triage nurse on her iPhone instead of tending to patients. A guy walked in after us saying his knee hurt and they took him back within minutes. Ended up going to Sandoval Regional Medical Center. They took us right back and the staff was caring and very attentive. Thank you Dr. Miller and Nurse Chris!

Vincent Valdez

The nurses I saw were amazing they asked questions and acted nice. They were the ones who made this experience nice. On the other hand the doctor I saw for cactus pines in my foot came in with an attitude like he didn't want to be there, gave my boyfriend a horrible look, then asked me if all the pines were out and I said "I got most of them but I feel like there about three left in my foot" he put on gloves and checked where I pointed and put pressure and I said that hurt then he said "well it would be more of a pain to take them out then to leave them in so we are gonna leave them in they should come out naturally." The main reason I went in was because I can barely walk because of the pines that are still in my foot and I can even feel them still in my skin. Then he said my x-rays would take about two days so I was going to leave and I asked the nurse and she said that the x-rays only take 45 minutes to an hour to finish

Yung Sushi

Their emergency room service was horrible. We had to wait 3 hours at the emergency room until they attended us. I do not recommend Presbyterian.

I love this hospital i had my son here 2 1/2 years ago and I dont have any problems here

Syd Lockwood

So the nurses were fantastic, but I’ve been here for 13 hours and have still yet to meet my doctor. Not to mention I’ve been waiting 4 of those 13 hours to be discharged. I have literally been forgotten (what I was told by a specialist and his RN) twice by transport and I’m guessing yet again by my own doc.

Janeth Orona

The employees in the emergency room are very rude and unwelcoming. They do not bother to check up on you at all. If you ask some other tech/nurse besides the nurse your assigned, for assistance with anything, they will ignore you and tell you to wait. These people really just can't be bothered for anything. Spent 8 hours in the emergency room, and they refused to give me something to eat for the entire time, even though I am diabetic. No water, no juice, absolutely nothing for 8 hours!!! Had to wait 1hr-2hr in between exams. By far, this has been the worst emergency room experience I've ever had. Would ask for pain medication and wouldn't get it until an hour and a half later, when I I could no longer withstand the pain. Very disappointing. Unbelievable that you would have a diabetic without eating absolutely anything for 8 hours!

Shyne Wilson

If I could rate it zero stars I would. It took 6 hours for the doctor to see me worse experience for a hospital.

JoAnn Carter

My ER experience was very good. The waiting period was reasoning; intake was short; and the nursing staff outstanding as was the physician. I was very pleased.

Robert Homrich

My mom was there several times since they opened; she had the best care possible. My mom passed away about 6 months ago; but thank you for the great care she received.

Isaiah Stafford

I have been working with a patient here for 2 weeks. The staff are exceptional! I tried a few things at the cafeteria, very affordable and pretty yummy too!! The new tower is very nice, the rooms are spacious, very clean and are comfortable.

"Not the Patient", My sister was admitted on 1/29/19 for unknown bleeding. The ER staff was top-notch and did a good job. It wasn't till I got my own room when I experienced the worst care. The nurses don't know what's going on when questions are asked, when told she's in pain it takes a minimum of an hour for them to get her pain Medication. The nurse came in to give medication an hour later and didn't administer the Medication because they said my sister was asleep (first of all they wake her up for everything else, but god forbid if she needed pain Medication). When calling for a nurse they ignore the page, and when they answer they are rude as if my sister is inconvenience to their "busy" schedule. There was a huge lack of communication between doctors nurses and the phlebotomist. The phlebotomist drew blood at 1300. At 1430 the nurses came in and didn't know anything about the blood work or where it was, come to find out the phlebotomist shift ended and didn't communicate with the nurses. The blood never made to the labs. The nurses didn't even know they took my sister down to surgery Overall this is the worst experience I have seen from a hospital.

Amanda Minchow

I have MS. I went in to the ER due to losing all vision in my left eye. I was treated by Dr Naomi Bancroft. Needless to say, I have had better, more commpasionate care for my dog at the vet. She had no clue what MS was. She had to repeatedly look up what meds I was on because she didn't know what they were. I kept having to correct her when she referred to me having Muscular Dystophy. Oh hem "DOCTOR " that's a completely different disease! Get it right for Christ's sakes I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DOCTOR! She promised to get a neurogist to come see me since she clearly wasn't getting it.. But big surprise!!! after leaving me waiting alone for an hour another nurse came in and didn't even realize I was still there in the room. He asked who I was waiting for then after 20 mins later, he came and told me "Dr. BANCROFT" LEFT! HER SHIFT WAS OVER AND SHE JUST TOOK OFF WITHOUT UPDATING ANY OTHER DOCTOR ABOUT MY PRESENCE OR THAT I WAS EVEN IN ONE OF THE ROOMS. Needless to say, I left with very little care and a small prescription, that will do NOTHING to help me AT ALL. And if she had bothered to consult a neuro, they would have corrected her on her poor choice of prescription. Shoot all she could have done is GOOGLE it if she was that lazy. Needless to say I was not impressed with this ER. Everyone was confused and didn't have a clue as to what or where the other "doctors" or "nurses" were doing. Thanks for NOTHING Rust ER and Dr Naomi Bancroft. You must have been a D student in med school. I should have stuck to Lovelace across from my house. Far FARRR better doctors and staff. They actually care about their patients. NOT RUST!

Taylor Winters

I was in from out of town for the balloon fiesta, had some severe chest pain in the middle of the night. I came around 5am and was seen immediately. Staff was friendly, helpful, took great care of me. I work in an emergency room and have seen quite a few-felt like I was well taken care of.

Romee Nevin

This place is a joke. Not only do you wait for six hours to be seen only for them to send you home worse than you were before. I wouldn’t even take my dog here.

Bill Wills

I was so well taken care of. Had an appendectomy last night and discharged today. I had been there since about 7:30a that morning having been taken by ambulance from another hospital ER to there. Got great pain management. Had very responsive nurses, techs, doctors, and other staff. All had wonderful bedside manner and took that time to answer all questions. Very thankful for the whole team who made made my stay really wonderful. The facility (hospital room) was lovely and private (as I was told they all are). For 2 mornings, I saw the hot air balloons launch outside of my window. Couldn't have asked for better care in such a lovely place.

The Victory Report

This place is feels like it has a curse on it. The people there feed off human suffering. I hope this place closes down for all it does to people.

Brian Mikulec

I took a family member there for emergency room care and although it took some time because it was super super busy I felt the staff including the check in people, the nurses, doc and then the checkout people as well as the people that navigated her follow up appointment we’re very professional and courteous ... they did what they could to resolve our condition so I am pleased with that facility and the expertise within it

Adrian N

Very disappointing this place has people here that are not for the patient's only when they choose too!!!!

Valerie Harwood

Awesome Life Saving Experience. The care and concern from every professional we came into. O tact with was amazing. My husband was seriously ill, and the doctors and nurses were amazing. Including late night surgery. Do not understand the other reviews. This is not our first experience with this hospital.

Stephanie R

Amazing experience with my pregnancy! Had such an awful experience downtown and ended up here for an emergency c section. My son's NICU Dr.'s and nurses, were so amazing, I couldn't have hoped for a better experience! We only use their ER now, and it's such an easy experience every time.

Maria Haberle

My father went into Rust extremely sick. Unfortunately they were not able to help him anymore in the end and he passed. But I have to say, I know that they did everything they could for him. I watched the nurses, respiratory therapists and doctors all work with care on my father and it was so nice to know he was in good hands. We were kept updated as much as possible and every time a nurse came into the room they asked if I needed anything. They were very supportive and gentle with the situation and I couldn’t be more impressed with the staff there. Obviously losing a loved one is painful, but they did everything they could to make it as easy as possible. Highly recommend.

John Byndas

They have a full waiting room and uncaring medical personnel. They should change their model after the VA because they provide the same type of service to the patient. After some thought I would rate the VA higher then this hospital.

Andrea Kitson

I had my mammograms at the Rust Medical Center for the 3 years. I am very pleased with the staff, no waiting lines as I had a ABQ Health Partners, & I had my mammogram results quickly.

Jack Humphries

Everyone in the hospital in the Emergency Department and the regular patient wing were excellent and very nice to my 87 year old mother when she was thought to have had a small stroke. I cannot tell you how nice the setting in the hospital and the room where she stayed were. Rust is an impressive place and the service was great. No surprises and very precise feedback on her condition. I really appreciated being kept in the loop on what was scheduled to take place to insure she received the best medical treatment. Great job, Rust staff and Doctors.

Amanda Rush

After going to an Urgent care, primary care, and another ER with no help for numbness in my right leg and foot, along with dizziness and black out vision Rust Medical Center came through! All I really needed was a referral to see a neurologist and after so much money and time spent at other hospitals I got the referral and an appointment in less than 3 days! Thanks for not just passing me back to my primary care as others have!!

Charlene Atencio

Okay... I love this hospital, MOSTLY. It is a beautiful facility, always clean. Most of the employees are amazing. However, the one thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating (and this might seem silly, buuut...) is I bring my mom for physical therapy twice a week. She had a total knee replacement. They've been great. The doctors, nurses and physical therapists- wonderful. During physical therapy, they want her to wear shorts so they can see her knee movement. There is a bathroom just outside of the pt room where she changes into shorts since the weather has been colder. Every single time we go into the bathroom for her to change she has to take the smaller bathroom, instead of the handicap stall, to change. My mom is physically disabled and with her knee replacement, this is not an easy task. Here's where my "beef" with the hospital comes in- every time the handicap stall is occupied, it literally has been employees for Presbyterian. That do not need to use the handicap stall. I keep thinking maybe it's just coincidence? Maybe the other stall was occupied when they came in? Maybe I should let it go? But for the amount of times we've been here and the length of time we're in the bathroom, I don't think that is the case. If you're not disabled, why use that one? Be considerate. Especially for the people that truly need that stall. Okay, I'll get off of my soap box now. Just needed to vent. We're here now and it just happened again -.-

Okay where would I begin We arrived at the ER around 4 30pm. It is 7 am still waiting for a consular for my child. At 7pm we asked what was going on and why is it taking so long. They said she was the 2nd kid in line but dont know what time when therapist will coming. Fix it!

Terrence Romero

Poor quality care. Presbyterian continues to show they care less about their patients and more about the money.

Michael Simpson

ER 1.5 stars, Labor and Delivery 5 Stars. My wife has delivered two children here and both were great experiences with both the staff and facilities. She had delivered other children at the old Presbyterian hospital downtown and it feels much more cramped. The rooms in this hospital are large and open with lots of natural light and amenities like a bath tub. The few times I've been to the ER for myself or my children have been extremely long. Depending on the reason we've been seen by a doctor anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours after arriving. The problem is that after being seen it always takes hours afterwards from the initial assessment to discharge. One trip took nearly 12 hours start to finish. On two occasions I sat in a small room separated by a half-dozen other patients by curtains. And sat. And waited. And overheard some diagnoses that were far worse than my own. In one case it was about 3 hours, the other case probably 4. Both in the middle of the night of course. I one case I brought my toddler in because we thought she had swallowed something metal. After the X-ray confirmed that she had not there was no reason we had to wait around multiple hours to get discharged. I was very tempted to just walk out with her and after complaining to the one staff member in the room it still took another 45 minutes to finally get us out of there. In the future I'll go to the ER at the Presbyterian Hospital downtown. There may be a lot more sketchy characters in the waiting room but it can't be any slower.

I saw, for the first time yesterday, an oncologist/hematologist at Russ Cancer Center. I wanted to transfer from my oncologist across town. I had an appointment for an hour which ended after 10-15 minutes. Dr. Venkatraj was the doc that I saw. She asked me why I was there and I told her that I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, shared my symptoms and asked if it was related to my condition. She said "I don't know you" and repeated this many times through our conversation. My chart was right in front of her, she could see everything. She then said I had something different than what the other dr said and when I questioned it she seemed agitated. She never asked me one question about my condition. I finally said that I was sorry that I wasted her time and mine and got up and left. This was the worst that I have EVER been treated and a waste of a $30 copay. I do not recommend that anyone with cancer ever see this woman. This is not medical care of any degree.

Phillip Devargas jr

Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been to. They have people come in by ambulance to sit and wait 6 hours to be seen. Its a good place if you need a place to hang out for the day. Its a damn joke and the staff could care less about you. I swear you could die in the waiting room waiting to see the 1 er doctor. How this place is even still open is beyond me. Presbyterian obviously don't read their reviews either because it's still the same crappy hospital it's been. So disappointed in Presbyterian

Recently my mom had a traumatic injury which involved her breaking her femur. She was transported to this hospital (our preference) and was given the upmost professional courteous TLC by the staff at this fine healthcare facility. Her Nurses she had were kind to help me and my family find our way to her room and made sure we all were comfortable and had what we needed. Her surgeon Dr.Andrew Schannen MD was the best in the industry that we have ever met he got her put back together and exhibited the most professional courtesy to us by helping us be involved in her care. I am truly amazed and blown away by the hospitals efforts for helping her get back on her feet! This was a scary and hard thing to encounter for us but the entire staff at Rust Medical Center did a fabulous job! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would they are the best hospital in the state and if I ever needed their services I would go there and id know for sure id be taken care of! THANK YOU RUST MEDICAL CENTER for helping my mom we are forever grateful for what you have done for her and for us. Thanks for everything because know shes on her way to recovery.

Berna Repka

Had a procedure done and I got walked to every place from regristration until I left. Everyone was nice.

David Cowan

Rust Medical Center was the best hospital stay I have ever had ! This hospital is so impressive I cannot begin to describe or impress upon you how wonderful the experience was. All other hospitals need to take note and follow in Rust Medical Centers Programs and Design.

The, absolute, best most compassionate, empathetic, understanding, thorough care I have ever received from any facility or care giver. The staff and Doctors saved my life while showing unbelievable patience with a patient in a full blown state of dementia hanging onto life by a literal hair for 11 days. I have in the entirety of my 50 years ever met so many souls who cared so much.

No sense of being urgent. And isn't done on 1st come. Waiting in lobby for over 2 hours. And others they came after being called back. The person who checks you in is rude and very uncaring. If you don't like people get a new job. Oh and pres urgent cares not a urgent care. Call them they say to go to er, or they are full cuz you have to make appointment. Which is stupid.

Geoff Waters

Do not believe any high ratings. My wife and I came to the ER at Pres Rust and at the time my wife had a high blood pressure 175/120 shortness of breath, chest pain, numbness in her arms and feet...her feet were turning blue in fact. They told us we would get in after the next two entries. We were still panicky of course my wife was barely conscious in her wheelchair. We sat for two hours as we watched people who came in after us go in, 10 people in total, some were smiling and comfortably walking back, one had a twisted ankle...I kept asking the triage nurse and finally I confronted the nurse who was taking patients back and she said the same thing, were busy blah blah blah. We even tried to call an ambulance and they told us we would have to wait. I'm not sure if they would have helped her if she went into cardiac arrest. Finally we left and monitored her blood pressure all night, she's still high today and weak/lethargic. Never seen anything like this before in my life, I'm amazed these people haven't been sued out of existence, they could care less about anyone who comes in, we would have gotten better service at Taco Bell and that isn't an exaggeration.

Salomon Tristan

Do not use this hospital if you need an orthopedic. I would give this place a negative 10 if I could. Long story short, took daughter in for a fractured forearm. They gave her NO medication before they "reset" her arm, not telling us what they were doing....just a cast. After we asked numerous times about a pain med. U are just a number to these people and they DO NOT CARE about you or your child. Surgeon came out to and was just full of bullshit. Terrible hospital who does not care about anything but getting paid. Go get a second opinion before they torture you or your child by manipulating the bone back in place on your 6 year old child while she screams in agonizing pain saying...and I quote.."some kids don't mind it". Really? Unbelievable that that's the quality of "healthcare" they give. GO ELSEWHERE or you or your child will pay!

J Vigil

My experience is too long for a review. I would just say that some of the medical professionals in the emergency room should treat human beings with some decency. The Golden rule is to treat others how you would like to be treated, that is definitely not the goal for some of the medical professionals at Rust. If some of the medical professionals at this location treated each patient as if they were treating their loved ones then I know there would be more satisfied patients here.

Anne Lilje

My wife was sent to the emergency room. I walk into a palatial foyer, marble, squeaky clean, empty and quiet. Go into the emergency room and it is completely disorganized. PAs and NPs where there should be doctors. Staff can't get tests straight, no one keeping us in the loop...we sit for hours. People are on beds in the hall as there are no rooms to put them. It is two worlds...the marble and posh for show but the patients are not served well. Very sad.

Patrick Garcia

It's great to see some positive experiences at this facility; however that is not the case for myself as personal experiences in urology and the emergency department have been poor at best. You will rarely see a physician on time. When doctors take to the community for services their very detailed when either choosing or expecting good service. However patients rarely get the return in their expectations when they visit doctors. There's growing peer reviewed evidence that suggests that medical schools have missed the mark in terms of service and understanding the value in providing a positive personal experience when dealing with patients. Most medical schools are realizing that this important component of compassion and relational service is needed, and to be frank most Drs are missing a critical concept in relational interaction between patient and physician. Why be arrogant? This type of behavior doesn't help any situation. Additionally, the management of Rust needs to be evaluated, and they need good, honest and ethical leadership; it's apparent that it's missing. Let's get back to basics, Rust medical professionals, you are being paid to be professional in all you do, every day; whether you realize it or not, you work for the communities you serve. Your paycheck isn't just about getting it from Presbyterian, it's about the service you are expected to provide, period.

NM Resident

Horrible. Go to UNM Sandoval Reginal Medical Center. Rust is Horrible. Presbyterian is the new Lovelace. Patient care is not a priority. Money and policy. What happened to the healthcare we had 6 years ago? What is going on? People are not being treated with human compassion. Did these doctors take an oath. Our healthcare seem focused on suffering not healing or helping.

Mark Soppet

I do not feel safe here at all. The security staff is undermanned and totally helpless to prevent my van from being stolen from their parking lot in broad daylight.

David Veeder

Took a friend in with crippling back pain. She was blacking out from the pain. Stuck her in a waiting room for 2 hours without ever hearing from a single nurse or dr. No one said a word to her. When we walked out no one showed any concern. Went to lovelace around the corner and was in a room and getting treatment from nice caring staff in under 30 minutes. Go to lovelace.

Alan Silverman

Rust emergency services leave a lot to be desired. Looks like politics and money is the name of the game. As far as patient services/outcomes is concerned, they are basically clueless. Writing this comment is a waste of time.

Dennis Winter

Been to all the big hospitals in Albuquerque, RUST is best #1. Sure there is a long wait in ER but all city hospitals have a long wait and they ALL triage the patients per severity of emergency. Shortage of nurses in the whole country is a problem as well. People seem to think the world revolves just around them, Sad that's not true huh... that doesn't excuse the few bad apples with bad attitudes to those of us paying them to take care us. That said, it's not fun waiting in pain and sickness no matter what.

Lisa Lisa

Clean organized hospital

R C'de Baca

Horrible.

Big D

Terrible service. Makes a 5 month old baby who is not feeling well wait 4 hours to be seen. Then another 2 hours to get medicine. I will never reccomend this hospital.

The Rust Techs or EMTs did a good solid job. The doc, not so much. No straight answers, did not answer questions. He was a difficult guy to work with. Biggest gripe is that because I am a heart patient they committed to a follow up by the main UNM Cardiology group within 3 days (It was a Friday, so fair enough). Rust gave never turned in paper work for this to be done. I followed up my self, or a follow up visit to a cardiologist never would have happened.

Sean G. O'Mara Sr.

Check in was quick, appt. Happened on time, I was I and out and satisfied with my visit.

D Jung

Unfortunately, Rust Medical is no where near as good or professional as Presbyterian downtown. The E.R. docs are worthless. If you have anything more then a laceration or a sprained ankle your better off going downtown. The capabilities of this hospital are limited. My father had a stroke and could not swallow. They did not have the capability to put in a g-tube.

becca selenka

Well this is by far an awful experience. That’s all I can say, just awful awful awful

Karen Arnold

Brought my dad in last night about 8 on, the staff was amazing, they showed compassion and a professional approach to every interaction with us. They had his vitals within 15 minutes, we were brought back to see the Nurses by 9:10pm where they spent about 45 minutes getting more info, drawing blood, administering pain control and ordering CT. They put him on an IV then moved us back to the waiting room so they could open the room for the next patient. We only waited about 30 minutes before they moved him to his own room and took him back for CT. The whole visit was at this level of constant organized care. When he was released we spoke to a patient coordinator who walked us through the next steps, follow up a and his insurance. I have never been so impressed with a medical facility as I am with Rust. It's different from the normal ER experiance but this process makes so much more sense! Thank you Carelon, Dr. Fox, Louis and all the other wonderful staff you did an amazing job.

Lisa Duke

My fiance was admited for 3 days for shortness of breath, and chest pain. For 3 days, 8/19/19 thru 8/21/19. He left the 21st which was a wed and they just didnt know what was wrong. Thursday, 8/22/19 he had a heart attack and i took him to lovelace westside where they had him taken by ambulance to the heart hospital right away. He had a blood clot removed and has several more to be removed. He was there 3 days and they didnt find this!!!!!!! Never will i trust Rust with anyone. They are nothing but a pretty buildibg.

(REVIEW NUMBER TWO OF TWO): ONCE AGAIN! GREETINGS LADIES AND GENTS: FAST FORWARD TO FEBRUARY 2016: Once again the patient was transported by Rio Rancho paramedics. The "trip" was virtually uneventful and in spite of uncontrolled bleeding from the umbilical region the paramedics did a wonderful job of calming the patient and placing comfort at the top of the list. SCORE THE PARAMEDICS FIVE STARS! Arriving at the Emergency Room the patient was immediately moved to the exact same room he was in on VISIT NUMBER ONE! A VERY vast difference was IMMEDIATELY evident; the room was NOT pleasing to the eye, it was NOT even close to being "clean" (FLOORS, WALLS EXAMINATION TABLE had certainly "aged" in the FOUR MONTHS since VISIT NUMBER ONE. The entire appearance was that suggesting a LOT OF USE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCED BY ALL THE EQUIPMENT. Unfortunately the expected (and obviously badly needed) maintenance had NOT been performed; even more noticeable was the HORRIBLE ATTITUDE of the STAFF! There was no doubt it too had deteriorated quite significantly and there was little to no effort made to conceal the BAD attitude now on display! The 'smiles' seen at the time of Visit Number One were nonexistent and interaction beyond anything MINIMAL involving nurse, doctor and/or patient were absent. The attention to BASIC CARE (such as stopping the umbilical BLEEDING) seemed as if it was a "chore" instead of something of paramount importance! Doctors and nurses wandered in and out but did not seem to get much accomplished! It was almost as if the entire time spent in the "ER" was a 'chore' and NOT part of the career these individuals had picked as a vocation! They seemed disconnected from interaction with the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON in the room --- THE PATIENT! Overall - on the "STAR SCALE" I would give VISIT NUMBER TWO NO BETTER THAN A "ONE STAR" RATING and a maximum of 20 PERCENT for OVERALL PATIENT CARE! While they did eventually STOP THE BLEEDING - it was NOT a good experience at all; in fact it was TRAUMATIC AS HELL! When discharged I REMAINED NEARLY AS TRAUMATIZED as I was when I made the paramedic ride to RUST! Hopefully I will NOT need to be presented to the Emergency Room again! If by chance I should be - I hope and pray that the doctors and nurses from VISIT NUMBER ONE are "On Duty"! I do NOT believe those from the SECOND VISIT should be allowed to lay hands on patients! That experience could easily have left me as cold and dirty as the Examination Rooms to which I was subjected! GOOD LUCK FOLKS! IF YOU SHOULD REQUIRE THE ASSISTANCE OF DOCTORS AND NURSES FROM RUST EMERGENCY ROOM I SINCERELY HOPE YOUR EXPERIENCE IS BETTER THAN MY SECOND! Senile Old Man Donnie from Rio Rancho, New Mexico (USA)

quick response on phone to let me know if friend still in hospital.

Worst hospital ever! Staff that check you in for surgery were rude and really made us all feel like we weren't welcome. They would allow 2 visitors for others, but kept telling us 1. Staff members horrible at giving medicine and starting IV's. One nurse kept saying "it has to be right now, I checked the medicine with 3 other nurses" (this is after she brought the wrong medication in 4 times). Upper floor bathrooms are all out of order for visitors. Alarms and high noise from both construction and alarms that staff is ignoring. Been in this room now for over 3 hours and have not had a quiet 2 minutes. Would have loved to just send a complaint in, but their website does not have a place to do so.

Renee Salgado

Waiting time was pretty much normal, however, the facility is new and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Jam Martin

Waited all day for doctor consultation..we been here since 930am...its now 520pm... STILL WAITING ON DOCTOR. nurse has no clue where doctor is.."i dont know, sorry". i am beginning to regret coming here. please go elsewhere..

Denise Tierney

Car accident a week ago. Myself and spouse taken to rust Medical ER. Excellent care and concern. Tests and treatment came through quickly. Doctors and nurses and registrar were great. Angela, Amber, and 2 Docs. Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews on this site. But we had good experience.

Elizabeth Saenz

Dr. Becchi in the ER, is the best doctor I've ever encountered. Thank you!

Sissy

I came in to the emergency room with my 6 year old son who had strep. They took us back into a room right away, but the room was dirty. The linens on the bed were disgusting there was a dirty needle on the sink and the floors looked as if they had not been cleaned in a while. Putting the cleanliness aside we were in the room for over an hour without seeing as much as a nurse. I'll be switching insurances to Lovelace.

Shoshanah Vialpando

By far the best hospital experience I’ve had with my father since his cancer. The staff and nurses are always so nice and quick to help! The doctors can be slow to come and talk to you , and testing can take a lot longer than needed at times. The hospital is clean and very well taken care of and the grounds are beautiful for any one who needs outside time. The food is terrible, but that seems to be a norm among hospital food. When I leave my dad I feel completely confident that his level of care will be excellent.

isaac ramirez

My son recently had surgery on his broken leg with Dr OGuinn hands down the best surgeon! Dr OGuinn was absolutely amazing!!! Now let me tell you about the post op nursing staff you wanna talk about a staff that truly cares about there patients look no further me and my wife loved them they were on top of everything!!! They answered every question we had! my son was in a lot of pain which we expected do to the type of injury he had the post op nursing staff worked extremely hard to make sure they got him comfortable & did a wonderful job with pain management and stayed by his side the whole time making sure he was ok! Our son was in a lot of pain like I said before so the nurse in post op didn’t feel comfortable sending him home they immediately got dr OGuinn on the phone he immediately got him admitted and returned to the hospital to check on him! Weve had other friends and family that have had hospitals just send them home to just have to turn around and head strait back to that hospital! Not Rust Dr OGuinn and the post op nurse were not gonna allow him to go home till they felt comfortable! When he got his room number the post op nurses brought him down where they put us in the hands of nurse Kay nurse tech Abby and charge Nurse shannal! Another great nursing staff nurse Kay was amazing not once did we have to call for her she was on it constantly check in on him talking to him asking him how he was doing managing his pain telling him if he needs anything just to let her know! nurse tech Abby same thing on top of everything making sure our son was ok and comfortable ! When shift change came Jessie & nurse tech Veronica took over for Kay and Abby and again they were on it! Also nurse jenn absolutely absolutely amazing! I’ve heard so many of our friends and family say that there hospital experiences were ok or even terrible in state or even out of state! our experience with Presbyterian Rust was amazing this hospital should be beyond proud of there staff! There ER staff was incredibly also! If god forbid something should happen in life to you or your family and you have to be taken to the hospital! Rust Presbyterian is the hospital me and my family highly recommend this hospital and staff truly want to help and care of there patients thank you to the entire staff at Rust for the incredible job you all did with our 14 year old son!!! We truly appreciate each and everyone of you!!!!

I have no other option than to give one star, if zero was an option I would have chosen zero. I've been trying to check on my father in law who is admiited there and no one is answering the phone! I've tried looking for another number to contact the facility but NOTHING!

Marilyn Russell

Went to ER, waiting 2 1/2 hours, never seen a doctor, only seen nurses standing around talking. (who weren't very friendly). Upon my arrival they had no problem raising up the bill with blood samples and urine sample (which they left on the top of the receptionist desk for 30 mins. for the world to see! WTH! The only thing nice about this beautiful hospital is the building!

Christine Atencio

This hospital was the worst! The nurses were uncompassionate, cold, condescending, rude, insensitive, and borderline cruel. My grandma was there and we were trying to tell them she was in pain, hallucinating, and trying to hurt herself do to a reaction to her meds and they were mocking, acted superior and cruel. when we asked to talk to a superior she acted the same it was late in the night and there was no one downstairs in admin to talk turn to and left us to deal with it on our own I would never take someone I love there again.

Carol Muhl

I had a nuclear medicine test (similar to cat scan) done that required 3 visits in 2 days. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous including the “help” desk in the lobby. There was no wait (beyond 5 minutes) for appointments.

Hollow Stone Productions

Been here for 6 hours, I have seen my nurse twice, no doctor. They refused to answer my call to be disconnected from the IV. This is ridiculous

danielle concha

this hospital don't give a dam about anyone they treat people bad and then they throw you in a hall bed.why can't this hospital treat humans with respect and dignity why must this hospital throw you on the floor like a dog. this hospital needs to learn

Bissell Construction

My elderly parents come here for there medical. Due to their medical conditions and mobility problems they ran 12 minutes late and were forced to cancel their appointment, their cut off is 10 minutes. Yet, when we return to their new appointment they are running 30 minutes behind, give us no notice of the delay until I go up an ask at the 20 minute mark. So I ask is this going to be free since last time you charged us for cancelling and this time you are the ones running late. Should I send you a bill for my lost wages while I'm waiting? Are doctors the only profession that matter?

Lisa Duke

My husband went to Russ by ambulance because he had sever back pain and couldnt move. They put him in a bed and put him in a waiting room for hours. Left him hurting in pain in the waiting room for hrs, never came to check on his back or were concerned with the hours of pain he had been in. This truely is the worse hosptial i have ever been to.

Gloria Chavez

I have to say good things about the staff and doctors I don't have nothing bad to say.

Anna Turek

Rust emergency dept is disgusting and dirty!! The maintenance man went in to "clean" the waiting room bathroom 3 times. Right after he left I went in the bathroom. It was filthy. It stunk so bad from pee, I couldn't stand to breathe. Sickening!! There's not very many people here, but we are waiting for hours. I was because of my daughter's insurance. I'm shocked over the conditions and the treatment of the staff is curt.

Jonathan Cox

Very long wait times (over 3 hours), even when the waiting room is virtually empty. They must only have one or two doctors on duty at night. You are better off going to the downtown location since they have so many more doctors on duty. You've been warned.

Cavin D.

I love pres, I despise rust. I've lost a loved one due to the quality of care here. the emergency room is basically a place to go if you just want to be left alone for 15 hrs and get no medical direction. truthfully the only good experience I've had here in the last 2 months has been with Tricore, and they aren't even related to pres.

Diana Diaz

Clean and welcoming hospital. The ER staff was great.

Mark Benner

I was admitted Friday from the ER. This hospital has no services over the weekend. I didn't get an Echo Cardoiogram until Sunday. I was told a Cardiologist couldn't see me until Monday. He did his rounds and never saw me. It's 2:00 PM Monday and I haven't even seen ANY Doctor. I would have never come here had I they would have told me this.

Todd Verity

This is only a partial review as the experience is still in progress. My mother was transported to Rust on Christmas Eve at about 3 pm with concerns about deyhdration, intestinal problems. By about 5 pm I was told they really hadn't found anything other than dehydration. They would pump her full of fluids and hopefully releaser her early evening. I left and came back and by about 7:30-8:00 they said they would discharge her. Unfortunately the ambulance prioritizes and it could be upt to 2 hours before she was released. During that time she began having strange bowel/fluid sounds so I let the staff know. They seemed unsure as to what it was. The doctor decided on an x-ray. It toook over an hour and a half to find out the result. Not from the doctor as his shift had ended so he left without letting us know. New doctor finally came in...by this time midnight or so if i recall correctly. She seemed a bit out of the loop and not sure what to do. I asked if they were going to admit mom and I was told they had to have a good reason so let's get a CAT scan. I then told the nurse I would wait in the waiting room for a while - more comfortable chairs to rest. In the meantime my mom had a bowel accident and no one was in a hurry to clean her up. By this time it's about 1:00--1:30 in the morning. I rested about an hour and then at 2:30 I thought I better check and see what's going on. Went into the room and found mom sleeping. Then another nurse saw me in the room and said "did no one tell you that they are admitting your mom?". Ugh. Then to top it off I was told they were going to wait on doing the CAT scan. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience. My mom does have PRES insurance but for ER visits we will go to Lovelace. So, she was admitted to the hospital. Very nice facility, large room, clean. As far as staff we will have to wait and see. I am concerned they don't have much experience with dementia. Hopefully, today is better.

Worst emergency department ever!!!! Seek a second option!!!! The nurses and doctors (not all,but most) are rude and apathetic! They wrote my husband ( who has a masters in nursing) off as a hypochondriac when he went in with a heart rate of 180 and blood pressure of 207/121 and told him it was just anxiety! They made sure to screen him for drugs (which of course they didn't find) but refused to test him for anything else due to his age (late 20s) to rule out the problem. Needless to say when his vital signs weren't getting better we went to another hospital and they not only took him seriously but they found a blood clot in his jugular and treated it immediately!

Misty Ashbaugh

I had my second son here at RUST. My labor experience was amazing. I had two absolutely wonderful nurses( Tiffany & Lucrezia) who saw me through labor and delivery. They were both beyond helpful in keeping me calm and focused. Dr. Danner delivered my son, she was very knowledgeable but also very kind. In the mother baby unit Yet again another nurse (Kristen) went above and beyond help us with our new born and answering all our question. Thank you very much ladies!!! You are all absolutely fabulous!

Tati Mami

experience with this hospital was awful!!! do not go to this ER!! waited hours its dirty ppl sitting in the waiting room with IV bags! ladies at the desk rude and laughs at patients

Luana Rodarte

I started the weight loss program a few months ago. According to the website, they are supposed to have nutritional education. The nutritionist is very judgmental and condescending. She never gave me any weight loss goals. I only talked to the the doctor one time.

Jan Sonshine

My first experience at Rust Center was not in the emergency department- it was a referral to a very intelligent- caring general surgeon. He saw me at our appointed time. Was very helpful. All persons I interacted with were friendly, professional and caring.

Eric Wilcoxen

It's almost 2am and my wife and I have been sitting in the emergency room waiting room for the past 9 hours. This is by far the slowest moving ER I have ever seen. We have been the "next up" for the last 2 hours

Johnathon Martinez

Some of the best care I have ever received in a hospital the nurses on the second floor or amazing the whole staff is amazing I just want to say thank you for making our stay as easy as could be

D J

Eh...some good, some bad. ER wait not too bad, ER nurse who filled out paperwork was horrible. She hummed this ugly song while asking questions, you couldn't understand her. She was completely unprofessional. ER doctors were very good and attentive. Floor 4 LeeAnn is the best! If you get her, you're lucky! The rest are tossups, the nurses in charge were not reliable. I don't think that the nurses "in charge " should be assigned patients because they are too busy helping other nurses and didn't devote the time in caring for me as I should have been.

Kate Sc

waited for a lot longer than i've ever waited at a pres before and then was told they could do nothing for my dislocated jaw and that i need an oral surgeon. While i was there they didn't even bother offering me an ice pack and pretty sure they just thought i wanted pain killers which i refused because i just want my jaw back in place

David Dipboye

Screw this place. I brought my girlfriend here because she was showing signs of a UTI. She lost her insurance card and even though it's on file they claimed she has none. After spending over 8 hours getting her blood tested, urine tested, and x-rays (the hell does an x-ray have to do with a UTI!?) they try to say she is anorexic (Other than the UTI she is perfectly healthy, I know because she eats healthy... Because I cook the food). I'd give a negative 5 stars if possible. To top it off I bring her daughter to see her (who has no idea what's going on and is terrified) and they won't even let her go back to see her, some bullshit about how she could get sick.... YOUR LOBBY IS FULL OF SICK PEOPLE AND HASN'T BEEN CLEANED ALL DAY!!! THE BACK IS WAY MORE SANITARY YOU INCOMPETENT FOOLS!!

I waited several hours, as the other reviewers have noted, I expected this with an Emergency Room. I am a very patient person and I understand that if someone comes in with a higher priority they go to the front of the line, I kept all of that in mind. With all those things being said. My review is based on when my daughter was taken to a room. After she was taken to a room, it was few and far between that we saw anyone, even though we could see the staff talking at the Nurses station. This was my concern, it was clear that she could have been checked on more, offered a blanket, because the room was freezing and none of this happened. I felt there was a lack of empathy and true care for her. After 12 hours we ended up leaving without finishing her care because she felt ignored, freezing and the whole situation was making her worse. I understand the wait completely but when you are taken to a room next to the Nurses station, they should at least be checking on patients every hour, instead of talking about who is going to date who, where patients can over hear.

Mario Z

Not sure why bad reviews but I was here twice and always everything was more than good

Lillian Hefter

If I could give a lower rating, I would! I was in for day surgery. When I was in recovery I asked where my family member was told talking to the doctor. The "nurse" handed me a pain pill, told me to swallow it using the ice chips I had, and handed me my clothes. I was still coming out of general anesthesia. No one to help me get dressed, still no family member. After I was dressed, he called transport, they took me out to the curb. Still no family member. What were they gonna do, leave me there and call uber? In the mean time my daughter's and husband come running to where I was. No one ever went to talk to them, or called the phone number. They were waiting in the waiting room. When my number disappeared from the screen, my daughters asked where I was, they were told I was moved to another room and the doctor would be out to talk to them. They looked down and saw me in a wheelchair sitting at the curb. But it gets even better, no discharge notes, and when I asked about it, I was given a summary of my visit. No instructions on how to care for my surgical site. It clearly stated that I would not be discharged without a family member. Beware, do not go there! The only positive is my doctor was great and so was all the pre-op staff

Monique Hogan

Love my ENT who moved from the main hospital to Rust. Love my Orthopedic surgeon & his nurses. His staff not so much, rude disrespectful and caused me to have a month long anxiety attacks & crying from their lack of putting the request for my knee injections in the correct way to my insurance. 3rd round no issues, but I explained to the schedule person how they needed to send for the script for the Dr to put in my injections, and the PA Mike was awesome. The Urology Dept I'll stay FAR away from... Hence the 3 stars...oh and their ER is a joke.

Natasha .

I took my little guy in last night we were pulled in immediately and seen by a Dr. less then 10 minutes after being put in a room. They were very friendly and prompt with treatments. I was very pleased.

Mandy Cakes

I was taken there by ambulance and the nurses, doctors and surgeons were excellent. They saved my life by performing an emergency ileostomy to remove four feet of my small intestine. I spent a month there and nothing is a hundred percent perfect, but they are people I will forever be grateful for.

Abigail Avalos

Huge, clean, and good service. Sometimes slow service, but I have visited many family members and friends here and even gone here myself for care. Overall, I have been pleased.

Kristie Cordova

Rust is an awful place to go. I went into the ER i had internal bleeding. The ER doctor was great but after surgery things took a turn for the worst They kicked me out after surgery before i could get woken up. They told my husband come on you got to her up and go. So i was rushed out. I ended up back in the hospital 2 days later with sever pain in my head. I waited hours and no to get pain meds after the doctor ordered them. I asked someone about it and i could hear him ask my nurse and her reply was ugh! She is just going to have to wait . well i had waited 3 hours at that point. I ended up needing a blood transfusion something they would have known right after surgery if that had not rushed me out. At my follow up visit i complained again of pain the doctor said i was fine and I ended up with a very bad infection. This place is a nightmare

skye sage

Worse experience ever!! I nearly wanted to cry because I felt like I was being treated like dirt. Receptionist are rude there !!! I asked where I was in line after seeing so many other people go in front of me and she looks at me and says a lot of people, so I just left. What kind of customer service is this?? I will be doing one of those surveys they send me in the mail. I will never go to there ER again. It's completely useless 2nd time going there and hadn't been seen!! This place is a joke!

Susan Martinez

Brought my husband in to Rust for a possible heart attack, stroke, left us sitting in the waiting area for 3 hrs even after his symptoms increased. And I asked for the nurse to check him again , she stated she needed to catch up before that. Well they rushed others in who had the same symptoms or less. Very disappointed in our services there. It will definitely be the last time we go here or I support this facility. I may even change our PHSHMO.

I came into the ER after having multiple seizures over 2 hours.i live in Santa Fe, but had been in Albuquerque for dinner with a friend. Kami, the ER nurse was AMAZING. However, once I got to the 4th floor, Melinda the charge nurse was rude to me and talking outside my door so that I could hear her about that she thought I must be in drugs and that's why I cam to the hospital in Albuquerque instead of Santa Fe. When I confrontrd her? Telling her they HAD my urine esults that she could take a look at, she denied the whole thing and blamed it on the night shift nurse. Kami in the ER gets 5 stars. Melinda on the 4th floor gets 0.

I've been to Rust many times now. My first experience with them was with my first pregnancy. Thank goodness I ended up switching and going to Dar a Luz instead for prenatal care and delivery. I got very weird vibes from the staff in the OB/GYN department and treated like I was just another nobody client not worth the time. I also have been to the emergency room now a couple of times, once for myself and once for my son. Both times weren't great. When I went, I had severe dehydration and was in such pain from it that my whole body was cramping up and spasming. I was literally shriveling up in their waiting room chairs for a good two hours, despite it being not busy at all in there that day. When I took my 2-year-old son, he had fallen and hurt his head and was bleeding. Luckily, his wait time was much quicker, but the doctor told me that despite it not needing stitches they'd clean it to help ensure it didn't get infected. Then, the doctor left to go grab the things she needed to clean his cut with. So, we waited in the room for a good 45 minutes, with my son losing it with boredom. Finally, when they came back, it was a different person and they just had discharge papers. They just completely forgot about cleaning his head. My husband and I shrugged and just said to each other, "Let's just get out of here."

Worst Medical Center. Customer service is terrible and waiting over 3 hrs ...

Tawnya Mortensen

My mom came by ambulance from a bad fall at 2pm. They've done nothing for her and it's now 9pm. She's a diabetic and has had two strokes but they clearly don't care. She's puking and the staff has been alerted but have done nothing!! Meanwhile 6 staff members are in a circle by the main desk in the ER laughing and carrying on. TERRIBLE ER!!!!

Amy S

Dont bother with this one. They dont take anything serious over here. I saw them kick a guy out who was bleeding on his hand looked like he severed a finger. All because the lady at the counter didn't hear him the 1st time so he spoke louder and she felt like he was yelling. And there was a girl on the floor needing help they didnt do anything until somebody yelled for help and they took there time to help her. I'm surprised this place is still opened treating people who need help like this. Its ridiculous. Go somewhere else you will be glad you did. How important is your well being cause this is not the place to go to.

Melinda Shipley

The pediatrician here is god aweful! I had the worst experience having a baby here and even getting blood drawn was terrible. Everyone has an attitude and hates there job here. So mean and rude no manners

Kim Michaud

As far as the MD Anderson staff and Dr Binder and the urology dept they get 5 stars. Negative review deleted because today's day and evening staff has been great! Last nights people are not here and the staff that is has been awesome!!!

Norma C

I have always been treated very well when I’ve been inpatient.

Rocio Padilla

Had an appointment at another Presbyterian location the map took me here. The receptionist was extremely rude at Presbyterian rust Hospital. The receptionist is the face of the hospital so if that's the impression she's giving I do not ever want to come here for my medical needs.

Bonnie Sumner

I'm sitting in the ER right now in pain because I had a car wreck. I was brought in by ambulance and they have done NOTHING for me. I've even talked to the charge nuse and I was offered Tylenol! Are you freakin' kidding me! This is the worst ER in the entire metro area. Don't come here.

Natasha

I took my little guy in last night we were pulled in immediately and seen by a Dr. less then 10 minutes after being put in a room. They were very friendly and prompt with treatments. I was very pleased.

Stephanie Henry

This place it AWFUL!! If you can wait the extra 30 minutes and drive to another hospital do that!!! My mom went here two times after a car accident and they treated her like crap, the wait took forever, and then they somehow managed to miss her broken finger even though they took an x-ray. They also missed a concussion and said she was passing out due to a heart problem (she has a healthy heart) which made no sense after the accident she had had an hour earlier. It would be worth your health and time to go somewhere in Albuquerque make the extra drive if you can.

The hospital staff are very helpful while the nurses and doctors provide a truly personalized and caring experience. Some factors which make Rust Hospital shine brighter than surrounding hospitals are two very unique features; single-patient rooms offer a very comfortable, right-at-home environment and a flexible 24/7 visitor policy encourages family and friends to stay with their loved one as often as they please. The room layout and visitor policy are very important to my spouse and I because we spend lots of time in the hospital, due to his SCI (paraplegic). We hate having to go back but we love that Rust is such an amazing option.

Tom Seals

This is the place to go in Albuquerque. All private rooms, very quiet hotel like atmosphere, good food from 12 hour a day room service, great staff. An amazing experience!

Imogene Allen

If I could give 0s star that what it would be! I wasted so much time calling Presbyterian Rush to reschedule my appointment 1st I was left on on hold staff never came back to the phone. I waited aging call the directly phone number to the Dr office same left on hold for almost 10 minutes until I realized that the employees at Presbyterian Rush are just lazy people like the 60% of the people who live in Albuquerque New Mexico. They don't care about how bad the reviews are been posted, you think someone in a position would look at all the bad reviews

Mandy Cakes

I was taken there by ambulance and the nurses, doctors and surgeons were excellent. They saved my life by performing an emergency ileostomy to remove four feet of my small intestine. I spent a month there and nothing is a hundred percent perfect, but they are people I will forever be grateful for.

Toni Denny

There was nothing that I liked about how we were treated when we brought my 23 month old daughter here last night. She had a high fever, threw up all over me and her and then after not being offered anything to clean her up were told to have a seat in the waiting room. My baby was having worse chills and tremors from being cold and we felt totally ignored. I wouldn't have taken my daughter to a hospital had I not felt it was urgent/emergent but I guess they have no concerns about a pediatric patient being slumped over and covered in vomit while they visit amongst eachother and slowly bring patients back without any regards to what triage in an emergency room means. I will never go back here again!! We left after waiting almost 2 hours... I better not get a huge bill... or charged for anything other than what they did for her... vital signs and a seat in the waiting room to hold my baby in hopes that one of them would be concerned with her condition. SMH!!

Britt Simpson

HORRIBLE! My mom was sent to Rust from the Pres urgent care, they told her she had pneumonia. Once she got here she waited in the ER with low oxygen for two and a half hours. Once she got into the ER room, she coughed so hard she peed in her clothes and the bed. She pressed her call light and waited 20 minutes for a nurse.... they told her that her call light was broken. Then they put a toliet in her room, she got on it and went potty, there was no toliet paper. She wanted a pillow to prop herself up to help slow down the cough, and the nurse said she could use blanets bc they don't have any pillows. I have read many views on this hospital, and they are all the same. The ER staff is HORRIBLE! I will be taking this up yo the CEO. THIS IS NOT OKAY, YOU DO NOT TREAT SICK PATIENTS THIS WAY!!

Jewel Vigil

My last few visits to the ER was a nightmare. The doctor treated me like I was less important. First, it would take hours to be seen and when the doctor finally came in a nurse came in and interrupted him and then he ran out of the room “dramatically” he came back an hour later basically telling me “theres more important people who need to be treated than me”. I’ve had a fever and a bad cough for more than two weeks, I actually am running a fever as I type this, and I’ve been miserable and been missing work. He told me I would be fine and had no answers to why I have a sore throat, cough, and fever... but here I am, a week later, still SICK! Not to mention. The nurses are always rude. They act like they don’t want to do their jobs. They will avoid you if you have any questions. Every encounter I’ve had with this hospital has been terrible. I have more stories that I can just on and on. They really need to re-staff the whole hospital.

Evie Ricarte

This hospital is a joke. They need to step it up and improve drastically. I took my son in because he cut his eye pretty bad and they told me he was fine and to wait. I waited for 2 hours and left to UNMH because it wasn't "fine". At unmh they treated him immediately. My daughter broke out in hives and they tried to say it was ringworm... umm no I don't think so. Took her to unmh and they finally gave me some CORRECT answers. I rather drive the extra miles than ever go back to any presbyterian hospital.

Elaiza Valencia

I entered the ER at 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night in immense pain. I was attended to from the moment I checked in until I left at 4:15 a.m. Saturday. The doctor & nurses are sympathetic, listen, continuously told me what was being done and explained why. At one point the doctor escorted me to the bathroom, gave me instructions on how to handle providing a urine specimen and ensured I had what I needed. There were 3 nurses in the station we passed he could've had do this, yet he did it. Teamwork, professionalism, efficiency and caring at its' best, THANK YOU!

maemawy

Worthless hospital. Came in at 930pm with my dad for chest pain, 3am and we’re still waiting in the ER. Not staffed, no one cares. Unless you are dying no one will do anything. There goal is to just get people have them wait and then bill their insurance. You can die in the waiting room and no one will know. Millions of dollars are spent to make the hospital pretty, but nothing is spent on patient care. Unless you are absolutely dying don’t bother coming. Even if you are, you should probably go to another hospital.

Sara Klein

This is our second poor experience at the rust ED. They lost labs and didn’t follow up until we made it known how long we had been waiting. With a sick 3yr old child of 104 fever we have spent 7 hours and are still waiting for lost labs.

Sandi Thomas

Took my husband to the ER with back pain at 5:30 it is now 11:30 he is still there. When we first got there he was screaming in pain but they didnt care he had to lay on the floor in the waiting room because he could not sit but they did not care then they took us in a room that had blood on the floor and a stained sheet on the bed with lots of holes, stayed there for an hour no one came in to ask how he was doing or tell us how long it was gonna be so we started to leave all they could say was bye....so 2 new girls who work the desk were coming on duty and talked us into going back in so we did to get dirty looks from the other girls still on duty I finally had to leave my husband there because I have a rare disease that causes me bad pain. So he was sent to get a CT scan put him in a waiting area he again had to lay on the floor never been treated so badly we are canceling our Pres insurance.

It's a hit or miss with this hospital. Most times the staff in the emergency room are horrible. If you get a PA named Amber Hansen as your provider run like hell or ask for someone else. She has absolutely no compassion whatsoever for the patients and has no bedside manner. She's cocky, loud, rude, condescending and has no filter on her mouth as to what she says to the patients without any regard and will contradict everything you say with her "knowledge" and smart attitude. She acted like everything was top notch for me when in fact I was having stomach issues. But not before she got cocky and rude about it and even questioned what I was in the emergency room for and "what I wanted to see happen out of my visit that day". I made a formal complaint to the company. Do yourself a favor and go to a different hospital. It's just a bunch of young cocky medical students who probably just barely graduated from PIMA and presbyterian decided to hire them. Sad. Some people should NOT be in the medical field as a career.

Abigail Avalos

Huge, clean, and good service. Sometimes slow service, but I have visited many family members and friends here and even gone here myself for care. Overall, I have been pleased.

Decaying Darling

Friendly staff, Fast urgent care! All of my medical needs were taken care of immediately.

Heidi Ellington

I have been here for 5 days with my fiancée. The first four we were so impressed by the short term unit nurses and techs. Monique was above and beyond. Her patient care is extraordinary and you can tell she is passionate about her job. Nicole (and her soon to be baby boy) were such troopers, so happy and made the stay feel like family. Gabby was was super sweet. However, days 4-5 we were moved to floor 5. You could tell that communication was obsolete and something was off. It wasn’t until a conversation ensued between our nurses that we had interns in the RN program that weren’t quite half way through with no direct supervision overseeing patient care. Med doses were off (specifically IV drips were admitted too quickly, pain meds not freq enough, pharm procedures were not familiar) and obviously too much behind the scenes banter of what was not right with process and procedure. Please don’t think k I don’t promote a learning environment, I just feel it should be highly supervised, organized and communicative when dealing with ones health and/or life. Notice I have not mentioned the doctors. Day #1 we saw the admitting doc Michael Rothberg. He gave us a vague at least recap of the ER diagnosis. He was super busy I guess. Next day...no doctor at all. Day#3 amazing doc (insert sarcasm and bore us with credentials). He was a pain specialist. Lots of info (irrelevant to reason of admission). Tons of suggestions. Advocate of going home and pain management, totally dismissive of the chief complaint and reason for initial admission. Next day we were “assigned” Dr. Raj. I work in the medical industry and appreciate the skill and knowledge of medicine and talent of doctors, but this guy?! Really?! Arrogance, irritation and degradation do not scratch the surface of this guys bedside manor. COMPLETELY wrong profession chosen by his parents, OBVIOUSLY! I have called specialists and insurance this evening and are contemplating and currently discussing moving hospitals and looking for qualified professionals who can deal with this magnitude of illness. Presbyterian has supposedly won some prestigious awards and been recognized for some great accomplishments, but I guess it stopped there. I’m summary, the best of the best are tired and burnt out RN’s (Rachel), who is constantly denied vacation even though she has150 hour accrued, and doctors who are here not because they like or even want there job, but out of some morbid obligation for a paycheck. Hope we make it out with less issues than we came in with. For example an order for a colonoscopy for a potential colon perf, rather than a dye scan so a further perf doesn’t happen?! I don’t know, I’m not a doctor, but then again common scense isn’t science like medicine right? I’d like to continue with the stories, but I need to do the jobs of not only the techs, but the RN’s also. I’d like to add that one of the MOST HELPFUL and impressive members of this staff was Tracy the nutritionist. Her, much like Monique truly cares about her work and patients. For the snooty blonde nurse on the 5th floor that was so condescending and accusatory and you know who and what I am talking about, change jobs you ignorant snob. Nothing in patient care or customer service either. Your time is obviously over due to intolerance and lack of empathy. Not only did your lack of a smile, constantly sitting at a computer letting patient calls chime and appearing to be a nobody and nothing just irritate me, your mere existence and hatefulness in this world really has no viable place or need. Consider UNM folks, they might be slow, but they’re in it to learn and treat actual human patients.

Peace full and safe

I went to Rust for a J.I. beading, was originally told I was going to be in Quarantine for a week, my first nurse was nice but had too many parents, which tells me they are short staff, my 2nd nurse was nice as well and was able to have ample time to get me in the system, now I'm not complaining I don't like Grip about nothing, the first Dr I saw was at 3 something in the morning and was Hard to understand which made him frustrated, my 3 nurse was ok just like the first one was too busy, so my 2nd Dr was nice easy to understand and informed me of updates and what was going on only problem is I can't remember his name

Patricio Rojas

Surgery was delayed 3 hours and 30 minutes. Waiting to see my wife for 2 more hours, because they do not have room, what class of scheduling is this? Do not use this hospital.

Lindsey Thompson

18 month old daughter diagnosed with uti. Prescribed 400.00 medication (that was my cost after my insurance covered some of it) that didn't work and thus resulted in a fever spike and febrile seizure on my young daughter. Then, when we returned back due to the febrile seizure the woman doctor implied it was our fault that her fever spiked instead of taking an ounce of accountability for prescribing us a drug that didn't work and broke our bank account a week before Christmas. They are the worst at this hospital.

Good Day Ladies and Gents. (PART ONE OF TWO: PART TWO IS UNDER "DON R" SHOWN DOWN A COUPLE REVIEWS: HOPING THESE COME THROUGH IN PROPER ORDER! :) I have absolutely NO IDEA as to what the heck is going on at this new "state of the art facility"! From all indications the "POOR" reviews DEFINITELY far outweigh the "EXCELLENT" reviews; the EXACT opposite of what one would expect! Visit Number One - NOVEMBER 2015: The patient arrived from Rio Rancho via paramedic ambulance and was IMMEDIATELY taken into an examination room. The room was very clean, well organized and gave the impression that the the visit would go well. Patient presented with severe 'stabbing and radiating pain in the right abdominal region. Pain had been present and increasing in severity for approximately THREE DAYS. The pain radiated from the frontal region laterally around to the right posterior region and the sensation of 'movement' was very easily detected. Each time this sensation of a "moving object" was detected and when the "object" stopped at the new location the pain was definitely focused right on the same location. The doctor immediately ordered blood work, inserted a catheter that would be used as both a way "in" and "out" for drawing additional blood and administering drugs; a CAT SCAN was ordered and done within minutes of being ordered. The CAT SCAN revealed a 4mm in diameter calcified stone in the urethra; a most definite cause of the severe pain. The stone was at the upper limit of one that could be "passed" so after the proper PAIN MEDICATION combination was determined (love those pain meds) the patient was cleared to be sent home rather than being admitted for an overnight stay! CLEAR instructions were given verbally AND IN WRITING: drink lots of water, walk as much as possible and as tolerated to help the stones mobility. A final dose of pain medications were given, vital signs taken and the patient was discharged! Overall - the "SCORE" for this visit would EASILY be 99.5% ---- a minimum of FOUR AND THREE-QUARTER "STARS"! FINE JOB ON VISIT NUMBER ONE TO THE RUST EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT! FINE JOB! SUPERB!

Bee Silva

I had the worse experience EVER we took our 10 month old son at 1am to be seen in the ER Upon arrival there was about 5 people in front of us we were still in the waiting room at 5AM! My son was constantly vommiting and choking the staff allowed 5 more people in front of my 10 month old to be seen as they were barely walking not in any shape or form to be getting pulled in front of my son. The staff was rude laughing and giggling. I then told them I was taking him to another hospital. We took him to lovelace at 530 he was seen and released within 30 minuets!! Never will i go back to Presbyterian!

Dominic Montoya

We chose Rust to deliver our baby and this was a sub par experience. The nurses seem bothered and inconvenienced by the labor process. Not to mention, it took the nursing staff almost 2.5 hours to do the preliminary measurements, etc.. I had to physically go to the station and ask for their attention while my wife was in a serious procedure, and they had no clue that she was in surgery!!!!! Unacceptable!!!! Go to Downtown Pres for labor and delivery...they are more friendly, and attentive.

Paula Gonzales

Just spent the last 2 days here for an appendectomy. The entire staff from check in at the ER to the transport tech that got me out to my car were fantastic! I had excellent doctors and attentive caring nursing staff. Although being in the hospital is never easy, I would recommend this facility to anyone needing care.
