I've worked as a caregiver for over 6 years with Molina. I've had numerous problems about getting paid the hours I've worked and getting paid on time! Vanessa is currently a consultant with Molina. Vanessa does the budget for the participants. For the past 2 years Vanessa has been handling the budget for the gentleman I caregive for. So far every year she's calculated the budget incorrectly and at the end of the year there's not enough money in the budget to pay the caregiver for working. Each year for the month of December I haven't got paid even though I show up and work on the days Im scheduled. Each year this happens I have to go to the Labor Board and file paperwork so they can force Molina to pay out the missing wages. The last time this happened it took a little over 3 months for the Labor Board to correct the problem. It's extremely frustrating!.. Vanessa gets paid for each case she gets. I believe she's only focused on trying to get as many cases as possible for a larger paycheck not the overall wellbeing of the participant involved. Even though Im not getting paid I still show up and do my job. The man I caregive for has a TBI and epilepsy. He has seizures daily and needs help doing everything. It's not his fault Vanessa keeps messing up but he's the one that will suffer terribly if I don't show up to take care of him. Maybe Vanessa shouldn't get paid until the caregiver gets paid! Molina needs to hire individuals that can do the required work or send the current consultant back to school!

DO NOT GET MOLINA!!!! I had Molina for almost a year until I could not handle it anymore. The options for providers and medical facilities is little to none. Even to fill a prescription was a hassle due to them not being in contract with hardly any pharmacy's.. The worst part is the customer service, AWFUL. They are rude and not helpful what-so-ever. Even cancelling my coverage was a pain... They give you the run around for everything and never have answers. Very little options are in network for Molina, I do not recommend.

I was a health exchange Molina member for a few months and as bad luck would have it had to be hospitalized which was unexpected at my young and healthy age. What I'd like to say is that when dealing with all the hospital bills subsequently, Molina was so so very helpful. They contacted several facilities and got bills adjusted and in one case even had a bill waived. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was friendly and very helpful. Even when it wasn't their issue to deal with, they went above and beyond to provide excellent service. I am so impressed at the people that work here. Thank you Molina for your excellent service.

This is the worst insurance i've ever had They sent me an insurance card with a Pcp that does not take molina with a hospital name that does not accept molina been trying to fix the the problem for months had to find my own Pcp.called molina months ago for appt with my Pcp that i had to find to send me a new card with the correct information Got the new card last week has the same wrong information as the first on Called them again now they are telling me since i changed my Pcp my dr won't be covered until April its not a new dr it is the only one i've had since Jan. And molina has been paying the bills have an important dr. Appt. On Friday the16 they better cover it and yes i do pay my premiums.

Ive had molina for a little while now, the service is very exceptional. I had an MRI approved pretty quick for my wrist and when I called for help I got to someone pretty quick.

I may as well not have any coverage. I'm paying a super high monthly bill, and every single service it appointment I need is a ridiculously high Co-pay. $80 to see my surgeon, ok fine. $80 to see a PCP?? THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE. My surgeon gave me referral for physical therapy, and everywhere I've called told me my copays with be $150-200 dollars, and they've never seen anything so high. It's cheaper for me to pay ito of pocket than to use my insurance. I would rather have no healthcare and pay what I can for service, than to pay almost $300 a month and still have these ridiculous prices for anything I need.

We simply need a form summarizing the annual transactions to give to our CPA, it required multiple phone calls, one day we were cut of 2 times and held for over 40 minutes. It was most discouraging, the staff didn't seem to know how to give us the records...Molina gives Obama-care a bad image.

Oof. Last year I talked to Molina and they told me my coverage was fine. Come to find out they cancelled it right afterwards. I hope things work out for me.

#1: Ignore Molina auto-response that they are "sorry" & to email them blah blah- it's a lie. They answer nothing on the phone, just more lies or total staff ignorance (due to highest management, not the, mostly friendly, young person that answers the call). Took 6 months to get my 1st visit with one of maybe 5 primary care doctors in Santa Fe, NM that accept Molina insurance (I chose an internal med. dr that was mediocre at best). Supposed to have Gastroenterologist covered by plan- fact: not one single gastroenterology doctor in the state of New Mexico accepts Molina insurance anymore - NOT ONE. I was told by Molina that they had gastro-doctors here *Before* I signed up, they lied. FOUR doctors said they have told Molina to remove their clinics from the Molina website so patients will stop calling for appointments... Molina will not do this because NM patients would choose a different plan when they discover how much is NOT covered because so few doctors will deal with Molina now.

Absolute WORST insurance I have EVER been associated with. If I had the option to give no stars I would have. Please (Molina), do not reply that you understand our frustration. That may be so. But your real problem is that MOLINA HEALTHCARE does NOT CARE. Nothing but delays, denials and runaround. Wasted trips to the pharmacy. SAVE YOUR $$$$! The only thing that they are prompt with is TAKING your money!!! AVOID MOLINA HEALTHCARE AT ALL COST!!!

Christine Remington

We are new members of Molina and the service is horrible. The primary care provider we requested at registration (who has been our Primary for years) now is not listed on our new cards...and most frustrating is that the provider list on the website is COMPLETELY OUTDATED! I called every dermatologist listed and was told that they no longer take Molina or are not taking new patients....even though the website says that they are. One doctor office told me that "Molina calls us every week trying to get us back but we decline each time". Yet they are still listed on your site as a provider for members?! I have waited on hold for hours between all of these phone calls - and to finally be told that they are not accepting patients or "haven't taken Molina in a long while" is very frustrating. Another office (Southwest Integrative Health) just told me that they haven't had a dermatologist on staff for YEARS! I should have stayed with Presbyterian healthcare - we never had this run around with them. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Terrible costumer service

I wish I had read the other reviews before enrolling. I'm a brand new member and I've already spent HOURS on the phone them to no avail. They assigned me to a Primary Care Physician who is no longer in practice, then refused to re-assign me to my own Primary Care Physician. Every time I call, I get a different response from them. It's worth paying a little to be with a well-organized and established company. Molina is a joke!

cody dooderson

My primary care physician dropped me because I switched to Molina. I have spent a year without one because nobody in my area accepts Molina.

I'm Diabetic and do my best with my follow ups. But im honestly getting annoyed with thefact that everytime i have an appointment and prepare for it its canceled because every primary care doctor that i have ends up leaving and i have to change the day that im seen buy weeks or months. its already June and the last time I was seen was in August. So far since then 8 appointments have been canceled last min since i was seen during that time. What can i do or were can i go I do not want to die while I still dont even know what is all wrong with me as well as medicine at this time do i need to take. Im not trying to say Molina sucks or is bad when i dont know everything that they do or offer but would like some type of help in the Albuquerque, Nm location

I was interested in signing up with Molina Healthcare. Upon calling I had a question if I was in a different state and there was an emergency would I be covered at one of the hospitals and I was told that is a HIPAA violation to tell me that??? They said to go back to the marketplace or wherever I was talking to and ask them?? Can anybody explain this it just sounds crazy!!

Joseph Gutierrez

Terrible service all the way around impossible to find a pcp and get an appointment scheduled using these guys.

Horrible Service. Sick spouse no specialists in area to treat her so our hands our tied. They will not refer us to anyone. The absolute worst insurance and red tape I have ever seen. And Molina CEO makes billions.

UPDATE: A 'grievance' was filed with Molina in APRIL of 2019. Every person I spoke with about the issue said their turnaround time to resolve was 30 days. It is now AUGUST of 2019, and I have not heard a single word from Molina regarding their screw up... WORST customer service EVER. Lack of communication from Molina has resulted in hours of wasted time for myself and my wife, as well as an inability to get x-rays due to Molina putting our account on hold. The hold was placed on our account as a result of the complete lack of communication from Molina. I wouldn't even recommend this provider to my worst enemy.

I have had Molina for at least 4 years now and they have been okay till now. Due to my family moving out of the city we have opted to get reimbursed for mileage to get to my numerous Doctor appointments seeing as how we now live 44 miles from our doctor. I have been sending in all paper work signed and correct since March but have yet to see any reimbursement. When I call Molina's transportation carrier they just give me the run around. I'm seriously thinking of switching. They say they care about their members but when you need them most they could care less.

This is not specific to Molina Healthcare in New Mexico, but it's where I'm located. I'm a new customer. I chose the silver plan from the exchange, rather than some of the bronze or other cheaper plans, because I wanted that extra bit of coverage and service. I was automatically assigned a PCP under the Presbyterian Healthcare Services Provider Group. I checked in the online provider search in My Molina, and didn't find a reason to switch to another PCP. Today, I called my PCP to make an appointment and they informed me that Presbyterian Healthcare Services isn't contracted with Molina. I called Molina and explained the problem, and they informed me that the list I can view in My Molina is not updated. The rep agreed that I could view the Provider Group for each doctor, and could use that as a guide to see who might be available. I asked for a list of provider groups (not providers/doctors) that are currently contracted, and she said that the only list they have is the one on My Molina (i.e., they do not know which provider groups they are contracted with). I just signed into My Molina, and I see that it doesn't indicate which Provider Group the providers/doctors are in. I'm flabbergasted. This means that I can only use the address as a guide (i.e., I know that the address listed for my assigned PCP is Presbyterian, so all other doctors at that address, I assume, cannot be my PCP). How is this acceptable? What assurance do I have that I will ever be able to see a doctor that is eligible under my plan? This business is about people's health and lives, and no one can be sure that the doctor they saw yesterday will be eligible under their plan when they try to see them tomorrow. This is insanity. However, I don't really have another choice. Like I always do with these things, I'll live with it...assuming I don't get a deadly disease and actually need to use this thing!

Everytime I call it will ring and then the call drops after the first ring! Almost like they are just hanging up on me! It is so frustrating. Horrible service

Wendy Sue

They have been great. I have a lot of health issues and they work very hard to help whenever I have questions or concerns. Always friendly and responsive. I don't understand the bad reviews. This is the best health insurance I've ever had. They fulfill all of their obligations in a timely manner and never try to cheat or cut corners or deny stated coverage. Health insurance has become a very scary issue for me since I got sick. I don't have the energy to navigate too many fnancial complications. Their website is also helpful and well thought out and easy to navigate. My prayer is that our health insurance isn't completely broken across the board. I think Molina is doing all they can to keep it working.

Kaylie Mackenroth

I have severe asthma and Molina does not cover any corticosteroid inhalers which are necessary for long term management. Don't get covered by Molina if you have asthma. You'll pay through the nose for coverage and still have to pay full price for life saving medications.

In a field with nothing but bad options (Healthcare Insurance), Molina still stands out as THE WORST!!! I've been a Molina "member" for over 6 months, but Molina has not provided ANY of the Healthcare services they've been contracted to provide! I still do not have a Primary Care doctor! There has been no "Care Coordination", either! It took Molina 2 months to send me the Member ID card or issue me a Member Number! The provider list they sent is quite out of date, over 2 years old, with editing notes transcribed right into it: "old number, look up new one", "delete number", etc., trapped in the PDF document. I've called Molina hundreds of times asking for help, but 99% of the time "Member Services" will either hang up, or will transfer the call to the wrong department. After sending dozens of emails and postal letters, I can count the replies on 1 hand, with 3 fingers left over. I have also left dozens of voice messages for many different Molina employees, but only 1 or 2 of those have ever been returned. Molina "Member Services" has repeatedly informed me that there is no "Grievance Department", even though having one is stipulated in their contract. "Member Services" has also told me many, many times, that there is no "Escalation Department", either. "Member Services" has told me repeatedly, that all complaints about "Member Services" have to go through "Member Services". The conflict-of-interest of that arrangement stinks to high heaven, but it does explain, in part, why I can't get any help from Molina. Furthermore, there does not appear to be anyone in charge, anywhere in Molina. From supervisors for Tier 1 "Member Service" Agents, Department Managers, Directors, not even the CEO himself, Dr. Joseph Molina, allow any calls to be transferred to them. Ever! Not even to find out why a member (me) has called hundreds of times, asking for them by name! Based on my experiences trying to get ANY help from them, Molina does not appear to be either an honest, or even a legitimate business! (By not delivering any of the services that Molina signed a contract to deliver, removes any trace of legitimacy Molina may have once had.) All of this leads me to the unfortunate conclusion, that Molina can only be a Healthcare Scam! Reports of this Medicaid Fraud and Abuse have been filed, and more will be filed soon, too! If healthcare is really the "basic human right" that President Obama has more than once declared it to be, then Molina should be facing charges for its repeated and continuous violations of Human Rights! As well as a Class Action Breach of Contract lawsuit, too!

Marie Hermansonpools

My grandson cannot see a doctor until AUGUST 20 for a dislocated hip because his primary care doctor no longer accepts Molina so he will need to establish himself with another doctor. He is not eligible for open enrollment until NOVEMBER. Thank you for ruining your relationship with the doctors here in Albuquerque. Shame on you, Molina!

Debinem

My rate as a single disabled person just increased by $413. They sent an intimidating and threatening letter with no explanation of why this 80% increase. Now I'm upset and will have no coverage next year. I'm 62 years old!

Kathleen Robinson

In the time I've had Molina, I've had them unceremoniously cease coverage to providers and pharmacies from my network with little or no warning or reason given. The most accessible pharmacy to me is Walgreens, and with less than a month's notice they dropped them from their covered pharmacies. I had to scramble to figure out how to fill my meds. Just recently, they dropped my entire provider network- DaVita Medical- without even informing me. I got no letter, no notification, nothing. I showed up for an appointment only to be told by my doctor that I no longer could see him. It has taken me months to get a new patient appointment elsewhere, setting back treatment and recovery for a number of fairly significant health issues. In that time I've had to withdraw from school and cut my work hours because of my lack of medical coverage and inability to get a timely appointment. I don't know what the deal is here- did Molina drop Walgreens and DaVita (which has Walgreens pharmacies in their clinics) due to their affiliation with CVS? Or was it some other reason? Regardless, I find their ethics and practices as a company really questionable and I'm switching to BCBS starting in April. I'm done being jerked around.
