I have been to Epiphany Dermatology on two occasions for basal cell cancers on my nose and thigh. In each case they took care of the problem quickly and efficiently. In one instanceI was referred to Albuquerque for amore complicated surgery and the other was done in the office in 10 minutes. In both cases everything was carefully explained .I highly recommend this dermatology group for friendliness, professionalism and prompt attention .

They're not very kind. Their assistant talked down to me accusing me of something THEY made a mistake on. Which immediately made me feel uncomfortable and they're not very sympathetic. I don't have confidence talking to them about the regimens and routines of the prescription I was on. When there seems to be a problem or misunderstanding they talk at you first and not to you. After my last visit, I felt disillusioned. This is very disappointing, you'd think they'd be more professional and respectful.

Was able to get an appointment with only a one week wait, which is much better turn around time than I have ever had for Dr. appointments. Got the biopsy report one week later. Turns out my biopsy was positve for Basal Cell Carcinoma and they are referring me to a Moh's surgeon in Albuquerque. Should hear from him within a weeks time and we can hopefully get an appointment to have the surgery done soon. Thanks Epiphnay Dermatology for the fast turn around time. John

Staff were courteous and efficient. I've been seen by Tim Busch several times (including when he was with another practice) and always find him to be thorough and knowledgeable. Full body exam was just that; he examined every area, including between toes and froze a few areas of concern.

Unprepared - Rude I attended on 21 January 2019 and won't be back. I saw Tim Bush with my 10 year old daughter. He clearly wasn't prepared as he hadn't read the referring letter from our PCP. Instead he asked a lot of questions to understand history (normal enough - unless all this has been communicated to you in writing by a PCP). I couldn't remember many of the dates and details and said I thought those would be in the letter. "I haven't read it" was what he said, and pretty arrogantly too. Apparently preparing for appointments is beneath Mr Bush! He continued to ask questions which we answered as we could and again I said that a more accurate account would be in the referring letter. "It's a simple question!" was his retort. If my 10 year old had not been there I would have tackled Mr Bush then and there for his lack of professional courtesy. Instead we won't be back. I called the office back later on the same day to tell them that having staff that are clinically competent is only one part of what is expected by patients and customers. I also expect the staff to be professional and courteous. Mr Bush was not prepared and defensive and rude when challenged. Dermatologists aren't neurosurgeons. They are "two a penny" - in abundant supply. Don't bother with Epiphany and go elsewhere. I have fed back my experience to my PCP so they will be cautious about making further referrals to this practice.

I recently visited the Santa Fe office of Epiphany Dermatology, where I was seen by their resident PA, Tim Busch. My experience convinced me never to return to Epiphany. Prior to visiting Epiphany, I had my annual visit to Dr. Grant Gerner, a skin cancer specialist. He burned off a pair of precancerous lesions. He told me that I also had several harmless but unsightly skin tags; however, he did not do cosmetic skin work as it was not covered by health insurance. I therefore decided to go to a dermatologist to have the skin tags removed. I called Epiphany and explained my situation. I was told that an appointment for cosmetic work would cost $100 and would not be covered by insurance. That seemed appropriate to me. I was treated by PA Busch and paid my $100 as I left his office. A few weeks later I received a statement from my health insurer, stating that Epiphany had submitted a bill for $335 for “an office visit.” I called Epiphany's billing office and complained that this charge was not disclosed to me in advance and was contrary to what I was told when I made the appointment. The short story is that they absolutely refused to cancel the charge. In my opinion, Epiphany's actions were underhanded, deceitful and unprofessional. I will not go to them again and I recommend that anyone reading this message find a different dermatologist.

Epiphany has been great. I had been going to a dermatologist in ABQ and it is much more convenient to be in Santa Fe. Appointments are quickly available, waiting room time is minimal. I have had a couple of things cut or burned off there and they are as professional as I have seen.

Epiphany is different from other dermatology offices in that they will schedule appointments very quickly, like in a few days from calling them. Other offices make you wait months, which means whatever problem you have may get much worse before you are treated. My Doctor was very caring and professional. I highly recommend Epiphany!

I would give 0 stars if I could...Don't recommend at all...Paid a lot of money for whole body mole check up for me and my husband....it took 1 minute total!!!!! Doctor, or whoever that was, didn't even look at us closely...didn't look at each mole...I was shocked...Month after I went to different skin doctor at my home country. Doctor looked at every single mole, with the special light and glass...we had to remove 3 moles (me and my husband)...So I DO NOT RECOMMEND SANTA FE EPIPHANY DERMATOLOGY AT ALL !

The receptionist was juggling 3 people at once, one on the phone, me in front of her and someone in the back asking for something, and doing beautifully. Dr. Busch and his PA were just as pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable as can be. I have a rare skin issue which apparently doesn't register with a lot of dermatologists or their PAs as real, and these professionals acknowledged it without debate. Dr. Busch also immediately spotted a sun damaged trouble area and addressed it.

I originally went in a month ago for removal of multiple skin tags on my neck. I also had two flat moles on my shoulders. Dr.Busch frozen them all and told me they would come off. My $100 visit lasted about 5 minutes. After about 3 weeks of them turning dark, being unsightly, and hurting...they did fall off, except for the two flat ones. My previous GP used to just tie them off, do a quick pinch and they were gone forever in her office. On my return visit to address the two that were still there, I asked Dr. Busch about just "taking them off". He said he could but that would mean pathology lab and it would be over $200. So, we froze the two flat ones and that was that. I really appreciate this Epiphany Dermatology office for several things. Unlike any other dermatologist in town, where you are told you can have an appointment in 2 months? You can request a visit to Epiphany and get in the same week or next week for sure. THAT is stellar, because when you have a skin problem you want immediate help. Dr. Busch is ver cordial and nice and so is everyone elst in the office. But what I have realized about them trough this last experience, is that they take the "short route" to solutions...no long term slow process for them. Obviously WHY you can get in so quickly. It is immediate care with short range solutions. But for most conditions that is perfectly OK.

I have pretty light skin, grew up in New Mexico and spent a lot of time in the sun. In the past 3 years I’ve had 2 Mohs surgeries and have been advised that I’ll likely have more. The last dermatologist I saw used a magnifying glass and literally looked over every inch of my body. This is now my expectation. The person I saw didn’t ask much about me or my past. He spent about 1 solid minute looking at my skin, and the following day I realized he froze the wrong spot on my shoulder. He couldn’t have cared less about me and my concerns. My initial experience with Epiphany was receiving an email telling me I had sent them the wring insurance card. No, it was the correct one. I will happily drive an hour to go to a good dermatologist in Albuquerque.

I went here once, had serious miscommunications about insurance which caused me to show up three times for appointments that couldn't be kept because they told me straight up wrong information. When I finally had an appointment they couldnt do anything for my issue, and I was charged $300 after insurance. A 3 dollar purchase at CVS after a google search ended up solving my problem. Not recommended.

I recently had two small cancerous growths removed. A doctor in Albuquerque, using the MOHS procedure, removed the growths. The carcinomas were near the corner of my mouth. She did an excellent job of sewing me up after the procedure and there's very little evidence that a procedure was even done. Suture removal, which occurred about a week later, also went well.

Went in for full body skin check and removal of cyst . Took less than 1 minute for full body check. Looked at bottom of my feet with a mirror then the PA stood up and it was over. I never even stood up. Didn't lift an arm, measure a single mole or document anything. Amazing all for $318 billed to insurance with a $120 co-pay. Cyst removal went fine, but nothing was discussed other than "I'm going to numb the area". Then no communication of what he was doing, placed bandage over removal area and left the room. No discussion of length of time to heal, how to clean, bath ok or what to expect, shower ok? Poor communicator. Front desk staff excellent and efficient. Time to get appointment was within 24 hrs of call. So quick for appointment, good removal of cyst, horrible head to toe exam. These are franchise type offices. The Dr. is a PA Physician Assistant

This was a great place. The staff were friendly and professional. I know they were short staff; however I didn't get feedback regarding after-care. I asked for a full body scan. He didn't look at my scalp or the rest of my body. He lifted my leg asked if I had other spots on my body that I was concerned about. They walked out after the quick procedures and that was it. I didn't know how to wash my face or what to put on the spots after he froze them.Unsure, if I could wear make-up or if I should wear sunscreen right away. Its also very expensive for small procedures.

Update 7.16.2019: Return visit. Got spot checked, more advice on treating the discoloration from rosacea. Taken in on time, treated efficiently with courtesy. Recommend. Previous:This was a good visit. I had small growths on my face that I and my doctor wanted rchecked and removed. My wait for a dermatologist was taking months. So I was glad to get a visit with Tim Busch who is the Epiphany PA trained to deal with skin issues. (He was recommended by the PA in my doctor's office.) My intake form was clear, the wait was short, and the environment was clean and pleasant. Tim asked about my concerns and assured me the spots were sun damage, mildly precancerous. Unlike my friend who had a biopsy while at Epiphany, I had a visual inspection because my spots were less serious. I also had a check for body spots (another female was in the room at all times) and told which areas to keep an eye on. Tim Busch brought in a machine and burned off three small precancers on my nose, which are healing quickly. He said I could try a skin cream for my cheek rosacea so the office sent that prescription to my pharmacy. (Unfortunately, it's costly and my case is mild so I won't be using it.) We scheduled an annual appointment because a medication I take actually stimulates skin cancer. Would recommend this place for skin cancer checks. Also, if you think you need a biopsy, bring it up and discuss why you do/don't need it.

No complaints about the actual cryo work done in the 10 minutes that I was there. But, the resulting $700 bill was shocking. I'd hate to think what the cost would be for something more than a 10 minutes visit. Unless you have gobs of money to waste, I would seek an alternative. The nitrogen freezing work is about as complicated as taking your blood pressure.
