Good luck trying to get an appointment no one in either offices ever answers the phone I called two different offices today hit every prompt just to speak to someone and no one picks up. Enjoy the ear piercing music while you are on hold FOREVER

Donna debellis

After reading these reviews I cancelled my appt. I have no tolerance for waiting more than 15 minutes. Thank you all for the heads up

nsp2796

Waiting 45 minutes and counting....so frustrating - I will never come back here.

Jessica Angelina

So unprofessional. Do NOT go to Mimi- an NP there. You will never get all call back even when having a serious issue. I was seen 5 days ago, have called 4 times start in on Tuesday. It’s Friday at 3:22 PM. Do you think I’ve recieved a return call? Nope. Now I’ll be searching for a new doctor who can see me for this severe allergic reaction on a Saturday.

Kimberly Meehan

This office is ridiculous. You wait for over an hour for a Dr or PA - only to have them come in the office and barely look at you before they give a perscription that is over $600 Seriously?! It has taken me 5 additional calls and too much time to get this all straight WORST PATIENT EXPERIENCE

Dmitry Lichter

I had a horrible experience here today. I had a 3:30 appointment today for my 4 year old. It was after 4:00 when they finally asked for my insurance information. It was 4:45 when we were finally shown to a room and 5:15 before we finally saw the nurse practitioner. I complained 3 times while we were there and instead of being apologetic and trying to fix it, all I got was attitude. I will never go back - and I will tell everyone I know not to use them.

Mike Roberts

Wasted my time. Kept me waiting over 40 minutes, and when I finally tracked someone down to ask what was going on, they told me Dr Welmer had just gone into a procedure. Why would they schedule her in two appointments at once. They asked if I wanted to reschedule and I told them I'd go somewhere that treats their patients with respect. Don't waste your time with these people. There are many dermatologist in the Montclair are.

Tom Khawaja

Linda Ippolito

Awful service, one hour and 10 min wait time. Saw the PA, she prescribed 2 creams. Never called it in to the pharmacy and closed for the weekend. Cannot figure out how to remove the one star.

Kenneth Findlay

Everything about the experience was horrible..The Dermatologist seemed like she was in training..I had to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor..Worst of all is it's been 11 days, and they still don't have my results..I called the office and was told "everyone calls to complain about that". She then told me it could take two weeks..I work in the medical field, it is unheard of to take that long…The average turn around time is 3 days…Can you imagine all these people waiting to find out if they have cancer or not, having to wait weeks for an answer…There are tons of Dermatologist in the area..Use anyone but these people…But the way their average is review gives them 2 stars.

Jasmine Okafor

Awful physician experience. Specifically, Dr. Avnee Shah has no bedside manner. I felt as though I wasted my money for something I could’ve googled. Will not be returning. I do not recommend

Angelita Fechino

This office is horrendous! The receptionists are annoyed to have to stop chatting among them to take care of the patients or I rather say clients as this is all about selling stuff like beauty treatment, etc. You don’t get to see an actual dermatologist but an Assistant Physician...they will charge you for specialist though...bad bad bad! Never coming back

Annais Khan

Paid my copay of $25, my insurance paid $64 and the office then sent me a bill for the remaining $67 that my insurance didn't pay.

Josh Kleinman

Was given an appointment time through their call center who had no knowledge the doctor was not even in the day of the scheduled appointment. Waste of my time and was greeted by rude staff at front desk.

Today I went to the Verona office. I've been a patient to this group for years & times I had to wait for my schedule appointment for a 1/2 to an hour minimum. Today I arrive 12 minutes after my schedule appointment & told that the doctor could not see me because they're closing at one. But I can be seen by another doctor & I would've to wait for all the other patients in the waiting to be seen by someone else. This is unbelievable meanwhile I arrived before one. Really irritated due to the fact I can't get my time back for all the other years of waiting & having to readjust my schedule because they are making me late to my other appointments.

I started laser hair removal here and I was so disappointed, because instead of lessening my hair it started to grow back worse. Dr. Shah told me "oh you are probably one that restarts your hair then lessen". I spent over 3,000 dollars on my treatments, so imagine how upset I am. I do not reccomend here for hair removal.

Leigh-Ann Zaolino

Excellent service! They scheduled my initial appointment quickly. Dr. Brown removed a skin cancer growth off my shoulder. The staff was warm and accommodating too. Wait time was minimal. Everyone was professional and courteous. Skin cancer is scary.. they made the process bearable. I highly recommend this group. They also take almost every type of insurance. A huge plus not to worry about that.

Paty Muñoz

Bad attention for an older white receptionist. not kind, do not say hello, not attentive, sour. Not good person to attend public.

R Ram

Guido Tebano

the doctors here are great and the NP. I love alicia she is the best for cosmetic derm. highly recommended. After moving to the area from NYC was looking for a local practice. This place is amazing.

Bryan Adamson

average wait time is 1-1.5 hours and the waiting room smelled like a dirty diaper. Went to pay the co pay of 15$ with a 20 and they don't have change?

Jake Finnegan

Awful service, waited a total of 1 hour 45 min. Had to go back because they did not do a good enough job the first time.

Thalia M Perez

The wait times here are atrocious! Never understood why we have to schedule an appointment yet still wait OVER AN HOUR to be called.. useless.

Lorice Awad

Horrible place

Elizabeth Shorten

Pros:. Really close to my home, early morning hours, PAs are nice and knowledgeable. Cons:. Co-pay before you are even seen, long wait unless you are there in the early morning, aggressive MDs who want you to come back for multiple visits.

Mary Kate Naatus

Great quality care of professional service. Pre-check in is convenient.

I had a terrible experience at this dermatologist office. I used to go to their Nutley location, but I moved to Caldwell which is 10 minutes away from the Verona office. I got there a few minutes before my appointment. The receptionist just took my name and date of birth, then told me to take a sit. I saw at least 4 people arriving after me and they all were called, I was the only idiot waiting forever. I waited for about 40 minutes and asked her how long I had to wait to be called? The receptionist very challenged started checking the computer and after 40 damn minutes she tells me I'm scheduled at the "Nutley West Orange" location. She did not even apologize.. When I made the appointment I called the main number and told the operator I moved and wanted to go to the Verona location, NOT Nutley! The receptionist put me on the computer to be seen and told me again to sit down.I waited another 30 minutes and walked-out and called their main line to cancel everything and not charge me a cent. The phone operator said, "our operator are well-trained and they confirm the time and place of appointments", she wanted me to feel stupid, it wasn't like that. I didn't even get the Dr's name. DO NO GO TO THIS PLACE, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

Kimi Wright

I'm glad I didn't see these reviews until after I started treatment here as I have been very impressed with Dr Noosa and his PAs. Perhaps the wait time for different doctors and different treatments varies, but I have never waited more than 15 minutes. Everyone I have dealt with at this office, from front desk to the doctor and PAs has been professional and helpful.

I'd like to thank the people who reviewed this Dermatology Group ahead of my scheduling an appointment with them. These scathing reviews are indicative of a medical practice that should not only be re-evaluating their policies but in most cases be investigated thoroughly for med mal.

John G

This is a great practice. The Doctors and Practitioners are pleasant and knowledgeable. The staff on the phone are great as well as the office. Yes they are busy but everything moves fast. I know some people are never satisfied unless the entire universe revolves around them and maybe this is not the place for those types. I have had things tended to and cleared up by them quickly and painlessly and have no doubt about their competencies. I only have been to the Verona office. I like that they are up to date on technology and are using it to it's fullest extent. Parking can be an issue but I think it is because of the other tenants in the building. Other than that it is great.

Stephanie Damiano

This is my recorded 9th outreach to The Dermatology Group regarding my inquiry of post Accutane treatment. I am a patient of Joanne Lane in the Verona office and am APPALLED by the lack of communication between clinical staff at this office. As clinical staff myself, I am very disheartened to know that my providers do not take my questions/concerns with priority, including the supervisor "Stephanie" who has also failed to return my phone call. I am on the pursuit of discontinuing referrals to your facility, as well as discontinuing my treatment at your facility, adding my online reviews to the already low 1.8 stars on your online review accounts. What an inconvenience and very poor customer service.

Brenda Cazares

Awful service. An older white receptionist appeared to be very racist. When we asked questions she gave sarcastic remarks and made us wait almost an hour after not being attended and having to approach her ourselves in order to ask if there were forms or anything needed. The doctors were fine but the people who give the first impression were terrible. Would not recommend coming here at all. I would give 0 stars if it were an option.

Melody Campbell

Awful awful awful service, I have waited 1 hour and twenty minutes for my baby to be seen. Worst service very unprofessional!!

Laura Amin

So this is my first online review ever because I feel like a lot of other reviews have been unfair. My kids and I have been to this office nearly a dozen times over the last two years and we’ve had excellent medical service as well as great care from the staff. I live nearby and many of my friends go to fancy dermatologists in the city. I keep telling them anything they need is right here!

Matt Mauriello

I had a fantastic experience with the Dermatology Group. In two appointments, while the waiting room was busy, it was never a long wait. Dr Spates and the nurses were all great to me- very informative, very caring and there to answer any questions or concerns you had. Admittedly, the Google rating for Dermatology Group had me nervous, but I had limited options because of my insurance. But, I've found that too many people use this tool for complaining and not for praising. So, just keep that in mind and give this practice a chance!

Can Sapmaz

No good waste money and waste time they are not professional at all all the workers there are mean and irrelevant

Moses Joseph

Straight 4 months I went this place still warts on my finger .Nothing change, they need only money and they don't care about ill and one more you have to wait sooo long. 100 % poor experience and waste of money . 100 % TRUTH

Jessyka Venchkoski

I LOVED my appointment with Courtney for a medical facial- she took the time to walk me through every detail, and it was a wonderful experience. The reason I could not rate this a 5 is the terrible experience I had at the front desk. You walk in and see a courtesy desk- so I gave my name. They said they didn't have an appointment for me, which I replied "yes, I received a call confirming, would you like to listen to it?" I let the nurse listen and she replied "that is for the esthetician, not the doctor". Well, how the heck would I know that on my first visit! I left my magic crystal ball home that day. So thank God Courtney was so fabulous because after being made to feel like a moron at the front desk I wanted to leave.

Dylan Wright

Make appointment for 7am or you will wait an hour at least. Easily fixable with sensible scheduling, but it just seems to escape their abilities. Nonsense.

Vandaya Harrell

very bad experience with Dr Avnee Shah

Viktoriya Diamantis

I have been going to Verona office for a few years but I've had enough. They make you wait forever, an hour or more. If you have a busy schedule, make your appointment an hour ahead. The ladies at the reception are not nice and not helpful at all. Dr. Brown is great but I will be looking for a new doctor and a different dermatology office. I just do not have time to waist waiting...

Vicki Toffler

Had a cosmetic procedure (Juvaderm, 1 vial), ws charged $650 outrageous considering it was done by a physician's assistant. On top of that, they billed an extra $75 For an office visit...simply because I asked a question about my hair, and that's it. I did not ask to be treated for that the PA told me to take certain vitamins and gave me cream for a dry scalp. NEVER did I ask for any of this! What's worse, I called their billing office..Robin Sherman...and she said this happens a lot...REALLY? She was supposed to get back to me with an answer..never did. I called her 2 more times , left messages , never called me back. Thats the end of my and my husbands relationship with the Dermatology Group.

Trevon Gaines

Staff is nice but you'll be waiting a minimum of an hour after your appointed time every single time.

Aliesha Bryant

Waited almost a month just to get an appointment after 5pm. That day comes and appointment has been cancelled due to an “emergency.” Can’t come on my lunch break because I’ll wait over an hour to be seen and can’t come before work because of the same problem. Can’t come because no appointments are available for another 2 plus weeks. I’m done! This place sucks

zoey cervera

It’s Saturday morning and I had been calling since 8am to schedule an appt bc it’s rather urgent. Waited until 10am and decided to drive over. It was open!! So I wait my turn to talk to the receptionist. Finally it’s my turn and I explain that I had been calling since 8am and she says “well we’re only here for another hour or two”. She says “do you have an appt?” When I say no she just takes the next person on line. Really? This is the first impression of this office and she is so rude and nonchalant about everything. Ugh. Finally it’s my turn again and I ask for the next available appt and she says Wednesday. I ask “who will I see?” She says “7:30am”. So again I ask, “who will I see?” She says “Nicole” (or whatever name, she was so darn rude I dot even remember ). So I ask is that a physicians assistant? Bc of course as she’s talking to me but can’t grace me with making any kind of eye contact and I have no idea who Nicole is. I agree to the appt and she writes writes it down and I’m so disgusted at her nasty attitude that I walk away and she yells “you’re welcome!” When I googled the office it says it’s ope. Even if they’re just open for a few hours, why not answer the phone? Obviously people aren’t calling the dermatologist early Saturday to chit chat. The receptionist is the first person you see and the person that essentially represents the office. Unfortunately this person doesn’t belong upfront. There’s nothing more pleasant than a simple smile. Even if all that stuff happened, had she simply smiled or treated me like a valued patient (bc at the end of the day there are so many other doctors I can choose to see) I would’ve just let it go. Ugh... The only reason I continue to go here is bc the last physicians assistant was very helpful but if I can find another doctor to see me sooner I won’t be back. My issues worsen with stress and this just isn’t worth it.

Freddie Château

I waited one hour the last 15 of which was in an exam room. I was finally told the doctor still had 2 more patients and a procedure before me. During my wait in the lobby two women yelled at the receptionist about their long wait times. I eventually walked out. All they had to do was call me in the AM to tell me the doctor was running behind and ask me to reschedule. Asking me to sign a 24 hour cancellation policy while showing a complete disregard for my time takes a lot of nerve.

Don't go here terrible wait times!! When I mean terrible I mean you'll have an appointment for 11 won't be seen till 12:30 and the doctor will spend the fastest 5 minutes you've ever seen on you. So horrible scheduling, horrible attention to patients needs and horrible staff with a bad attitude. Steer clear do no go I repeat find any other means besides The Dermatology Group.

Deborah Montanez

So I found them on the internet and as far as medical effectiveness they had good reviews. So I sent my fiancé there because he needed a new dermatologist. When he went he had told me that the doctors were very knowledgeable. So I thought great we did well. However he had told me that the wait was horrendous. So later I had my own issue I hadn’t addressed in years and it was time to stop avoiding it. The first time I visited receptionists were courteous, helpful, effective. I was thinking my fiancé was just exaggerating one bad experience. However I had to take a day off from work in order to make sure my procedure was ok since I was experiencing some pain and discomfort succeeding the procedure. Omg what a terrible experience. Different batch of receptionists and they were awful. They were rude, patronizing, condescending and unfriendly. Furthermore did zero to ease my worry. These people don’t realize they are the first thing patients see and their attitude matters. Like it or not although this is healthcare, it’s still a business, and they aren’t the only dermatology group. My first instinct was to call a new group and never come back. If it wasn’t for the fact that my fiancé comes here frequently, I would have put her in her place but instead I remained silent and expressed my slight dissatisfaction with the attending medical assistant. Moreover that same receptionist was rude to another man that had set aside time from his job for an appointment here as well, ( I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, the conversation was quite loud happening right in front of me) he was clearly upset but was clear with her that his mood was not being directed at her and was just upset becsuse his appointment was not on the schedule and he had taken time from work. In the end, as upset as that other patient was, he thanked her maintained composure and left. In short this is the problem with allowing corporations to take over something as simple as your dermatologist. This group is owned by a Corp not a mom and pop which is probably why they don’t care that the face that greets you is rude knowing you can take your business elsewhere. However horrible the front end exprience was, the medical professional that attended me was wonderful, Alisha she actually made me not want to post this review and forget how rude the front staff was to me. Her courteousness, expertise, and kind attitude made a horrible experience tolerable. So the medical staff is wonderful as long as you can tolerate the non welcome you will receive at the door. I like to be open about my experience so that people can make their own judgement call as to what they choose to do rather than rant like a lunatic without purpose. I find sharing all of my experience gives people the ability to make their own judgment call.

Leyla Obredor

Pesimooo! No te dan la información correcta. Me hicieron gastar tiempo y gasolina, para al final salir con otra cosa.

Allison Stoveken

Above average experience here and i usually tend to bristle at medical office staff but Dr. Li at the Paramus location is very attentive and has a great team. I've utilized their clinical and cosmetic services. The doctors and aestheticians have been consistently been top notch.

Eric Staudinger

Good luck with this place. If your appointment is at 12, you'll be seen at 3. Always a long wait.

Christy

Me and my daughter had appointments and we were very happy! Dr. Brown is great - patient and really helped us even though the procedure my daughter had to have was a little painful, he was firm but very nice. Our wait time wasn't terrible. We have a follow up in a couple weeks so hopefully our experience is just as good as the first!

Adriana Ceron

Hate it not a good service at all

Dave Rounds

Absolutely unacceptable service. I wish I had read all the reviews about poor service prior to wasting two hours I won't be getting back. Arrived at 10:30 for an 11AM appointment as a new patient. By 11:20, nobody had given me a status update on my 11AM appointment. I asked the assistants at the desk how much longer I would be waiting, and they replied that there were three people ahead of me and that my remaining wait time would be about 45 minutes. I asked at what point I was going to be notified of this, and the assistants didn't quite know how to respond. I heard great things about Dr Brown, and that is why I drove half an hour to this office, but I will never return after the way I was treated. A note to the practice: your patients' time is valuable. If you cannot keep up with your appointment schedule, then you need to change the way you do business.

Magda Gutierrez

The last time i went there was awful I waited at least 1:45 minute and some nurse took a picture of my birth mark and came back and said that the doctor he's not going to be able to help me I never went back there awful service

argie sokoli

I love dr. Shaw!! We have been going to dermatology group in Verona for a few years now and I have never had an issue. I dont know why there is so many negative reviews on it. The front desk has always been helpful and our wait time is minimal. They are quick sending Rx to pharmacy also.

Edwin Rosa

Bad experience. Got a 1 minute check and diagnosed me. Said they put in a prescription with the pharmacy. Went there but nothing was there. Called the doctor they said they where going to call the pharmacy. Yeah that was 5 days ago. Called again and still nothing from the doctor.please stay away from this incompetent office.

Cynthia Gonzalez

Horrendous .. Had an appt at 2 didn't get seen until 5..then the dr ordered a prescription that needed a prior authorization..I had to keep calling the office every wk because the pharmacy and the insurance company both told me they had not received the prior auth from the dr office. Finally on the 3rd week I called to speak with the office manager. Took almost a full month with no medication only to them be told the medication was not covered..the whole time the office could've changed the medication and it given me samples. Not to mention on severalseveral occasions I had called the office and been hung up on.. This office use to run a lot better from my recollection but now a days I'd never recommend this office. All around a negative experience. Unfortunately ..

hudhawks

Why make appointments? You wait an hour and then wait some. I’m looking for a new practice!

Lisamarie Moore

This office has decided to use a third party vendor to field all their calls so if you want to talk to a doctor because you have a problem forget it. In addition, I've been getting treatments for several years and they suddenly increased the price insignificantly and their is no real justifiable reason. I was put on the spot and decided to discontinue my visits to this location.

Melanie Willette

I waited for a pediatric appt for 1.5 hrs. I finally told the receptionist I was going to have to reschedule because my kids were about to lose it and suddently he was next. When then they finally called my son’s name, we were seen by a nurse practitioner who did a great job examining my very agitated 5 year old. His appt lasted 10 minutes. I will not come back to this office,

Fab 4458

Called to make an appointment and no one picked. I checkec to see if they were closed by no they were open . I called multiple times still same result.

mina Akyol

Long story short I waited an hour an a half for my appointment, the nurse named DAWN that took me in and got my information was miserable and rude. The doctor came in and spent about 5 minutes with me and left and only addressed 1 out of the 2 simple issues I was there for. I asked the nurse DAWN why she didn’t get to take care of my other problem and she told me that was how long my time slot was .... 5 minutes. I go to the desk associate and she tells me my time slot was 10 minutes. So I waited an hour and a half for a 5 minute appointment. IT GETS BETTER !! My cousin went in right after me and heard the nurse DAWN and all the staff badmouthing me, talking about me, including curse words, it was a nice laugh for all of the staff. I have recommended my friends family and co workers to the dermatology group before FOR MANY YEARS and never will again. I will never be returning and I will make sure to share my experience with everyone. I DO NOT RECCOMENT THE DERMATOLOGY GROUPIN VERONA, NURSE DAWN, or SHANNON WELLNER to anyone. The doctor and office are well aware of the situation and no one has even reached out to offer an apology.

JOANNE VANDERWENDE

So unprofessional! Had a biopsy 3 weeks ago - called every other day - no return call, no one is available to give me results - they take a message and never call back! Never going here again

Melissa M.

Make sure you clear your schedule when you make an appointment here. As a returning customer with no new paperwork to fill out, I waited OVER AN HOUR to see the dr in the waiting room. Finally I approached the front desk to ask what the hold was and how much longer it would be. The girl said you are next. A few minutes later the nurse took me back to the examing room where I waited another 45 MINUTES!! I believe that they were no where near ready to take my appt & sent me to the examing room because they did not want me to leave which was totally unfair. After waiting in the examing room I finally opened the door with my patient robe and had to flag a nurse down. I said if I was not seen or addressed in the next 5 minutes I would leave. And sure enough the dr. came prancing in. I waited over 2 hours to see the dr for less than ten minutes!

Omar Serrano

It use to be a great place but now waiting time is horrible, POOREST TIME MANAGEMENT!!! New front desk staff very slow :( The only good thing about the place is JOAN LANE ❤️

Donnette Hill Walto

I had an appointment with at the Riverdale office in early March, March 9th. I did not find the receptionist to be overly friendly, but she did answer my questions without any problems. The wait time was not too long, and the nurse I had was quite lovely and made me laugh. However, the air conditioning was on (IN EARLY MARCH IN NJ? Really) and of course I had to disrobe and put on a paper covering. It was very cold. I saw one of the NP's, Ms. Guttuso. She was brisk and not so warm, to the point, but did not tell me if there would be any side affects to receiving a numbing shot for a biopsy (I got sick to my stomach afterwards) and she got upset when I asked for more natural alternatives to petroleum jelly to care for the wound (yes, I am a naturalist). Today, April 6 I FINALLY called to find out the result of my biopsy. I never received a call from this office. Thankfully it is fine, but what if it had not been? I am disappointed that I had to call myself (is this the new norm?) Overall I am not so please with this practice and was willing to try another doc but having to call almost a month later for my results, well, I will try to find another practice.

Hazem Matar

Went in today 7/10/18 to see a Dr at 2:30PM i was there on time sat and waited for almost 45min. Every single person who came after me went in and i was still waiting with an appointment. ((You have the poorest time management with no respect for peoples time)) I even went and told front desk to cancel my appointment she didn’t even say anything to apologize just looked at me and continues chatting with her coworkers.

Gerry DeSantis

Appointment was easy to make, Dr Brown very nice and explained everything very Professionally. Has been more than two weeks waiting for re sults of my tests. Have called twice and was told I would get a call back. Been four days. Still waiting.

Rhys Williams

When a "clinic" fails to notify a patient for sixth months regarding a critical diagnosis, that "clinic" should be investigated.

Patricia Silvestri

If I could give ZERO STARS< I WOULD> This is the WORST doctors office I have EVER dealt with... that says something considering the amount of doctors I have seen. I saw the doctor in this office 3 weeks ago and was provided with 2 prescriptions, one for a symptom that I had not complained of. I've called the office several times and no one has returned my call.I have repeatedly been told that the doctor has left for the day. So he can't leave instructions and have someone else get back to me? Also I've been waiting on the results of a biopsy for which I was told the results would be back in 10 days. The place seems dirty. The office staff is harried. I will not go back there again and I would suggest to others to avoid this place.

Robyn Posternock

This place is so unprofessional and if I were you, I would stay away. Good thing I called my insurance on the way there because the doc office told me the PA was In network and she wasn't. I asked to be accommodated since I drove all the way there from four towns away and they wouldn't let me see a different in network doc because it's Friday and they leave early. There was a doc there that could've seen me but they didn't care. As a healthcare professional, the day I would've let an upset patient walk out and not be seen because of my error would be the day I lost my job. Very unprofessional and they don't know what they are talking about with insurance. Never going back worst place
