The best women answering the phone, pleasant and never an issue- I see two docs at this group. One Dr. Abbate in Riverdale who is amazing. Your treated as a person not a number. Excellent bedside manner and care/ his assistants are amazing too. I also see a doc in vernona for my laser which is also amazing. Sometimes there is a wait, not a crazy one. If you want a good doc that is the price of seeing one sometimes. I always schedule on days I am not rushed if possible. I have never waited longer than 25-35 min. I will never complain, the level of care and professionalism is well worth it. Nothing better than calling a Dr office and the ladies on the other end are courteous and happy. Thanks for the great care!

I have never written a review before but I felt compelled to after returning from this Dr's office. What in the world has happened to Healthcare? I wasn't sure if I was there to se Big J Your review will be posted publicly on the web. Learn more e a Dr or buy a used car. After discussing the reason for the visit the PA kept pushing products on us. She treated us like we were stupid and never really focused on the purpose of our visit. Just awful ....not a caring or sincere bone in her body. A big phony. I was actually embarrassed for her. I won't ever go back

Jenn White

Slowest service I've ever received at at doctors office, it's like an assembly line.

Jennifer Jeffrey

if you like to be put on hold on the phone listening to music for hours on end this is the office for you! If you like to wait and wait in a doctor’s waiting room then you’ll love this place!!!

We are new patients. Check in was a breeze. Registration was automated and very simple. Wait time was 5-10 minutes in the waiting room and literally 2 minutes for the Dr. Patel to come in our room. He was friendly and professional, along with patient. We did not feel rushed at all. We had a great experience. We were out of the office in 30 minutes.

Mark Diorio

Waited an hour and left to get to work. Waste of my time. Would never go back here.

so I went here and saw Dr. Patel for a cyst on the back of my neck that is not bothering me, I just want it removed. I did not experience the wait complaints like others, they were actually quite timely and easy. the Dr. came into the room quickly, went over the cyst and I said I wanted it removed so let's set up an appointment, ok he said...here's where it went south: I asked about costs and my insurance, I got no information from him or anyone else. I should have been told what it'd cost me with no insurance and also at least a best/worst estimate just to have an idea, I GOT NOTHING!! my insurance only covers anything after my $2500 deductible is met and for someone who never gets sick, sees doctors and is very healthy...that means the bill is all me, so I kept trying to find out what is it gonna cost!! I got no help, on hold listening to music for nearly 60 minutes with not 1 minute spent talking nor hearing a human being. I called Kinnelon and told them what I just went through and they assured me the Doctor would disclose all that information to me after being seen...so why does Riverdale treat patients like that? I definitely experienced the complaints about it's "money first and patient care second" with this place...I will be showing up to them in person today to demand my co pay back since they provided me with no service, no care, no information and no respect or courtesy and now I have to see another Dermatologist initially just to be told what the surgical costs would be and I don't get what's so hard about disclosing that to your PAYING PATIENTS. appointment time was 9:40am and posted this at 3:15pm same day after trying all day to get the information I simply deserved when I was seen by Dr. Patel.

The office is a large practice, and it is busy, but well managed. Despite there being lots of people in the waiting room, I was seen at the time that I made the appointment. The staff was great, both the reception, nurse and doctors. I am a person that finds fault in everything, but this office is well run. As for the doctor, Dr Patel is a professional and sympathetic doctor. I went in for a routine exam as well as to have a small procedure. I found the doctor to be both profession and personal. He was very attentive to reducing pain and communicated every aspect as he went along, he let me know what to expect. He is also skillful at taking your mind off the situation , so before you know it, the procedure is done. He is my dermatologist of choice from here on out.

Lisa Heres

The doctors are good but be prepared to wait and wait and wait. Routinely wait an hour past appointment time!

Giving it 5 stars bc I love my doctor and I’ve been coming here frequently. Came in today and the women behind the desk w the long blonde hair is so rude and obnoxious when she’s talking about the patients who are literally 2 feet away in the waiting room

This practice is one of the best that I have ever experienced. Go twice a year for a skin checkup. I always take the 6 AM appointments. Twice, I've had to go for a concern and the appointments were late morning. The place both times was packed! I don't know how they do it - moving patients along and giving the most amount of time and care. I expected to wait an hour. But, I was in a room and saw Dr. Abbate within 20 minutes. He is a wonderful doctor and a wonderful person. The staff is professional and always so courteous. Again, I don't know how they do it. Great practice on ALL accounts. My whole family would never consider another practice. You want the best? This is the place.

Spent more time with the assistant then the nurse practioner. Would not go back.

I went there loosing my hair and the doctor never looked or even touched it. It turned out going to my primary I have a bad thyroid. Causing my lack of weight and sluggish energy. He just told me it dermititis and then gave my shampoo that does nothing for me. Well at least I got free shampoo I guess :/ what yea Gunna do? Besides the point I didn't wait long but they seem rather uncaring

Ron Roslasky

This group is absolutely agrevating when it comes to being on time both in person and on the phone. Really bad

Lee Feldermann

If they are running behind(as in an hour), they don't even call to give you a heads up. This is a regular occurrence there. The doctors are great but the waiting is the worst ever!

Doris Kiefer

Always seem to be overbooked, spent way too much time in waiting area, at last visit, records were messed up due to spelling error. Doctor thought it was my first visit based on 'new' file, had been going regularly for years.....I'm done. They are on top of the billing, no waiting.

Lauren Salch

I had to wait and wait and wait, and then I left without seeing the doctor. I told the front desk a phone call would have been appreciated to let me know they were running behind. They told me that they did not know the doctors would have been late. I mentioned that this has happened before, and I will be finding another dermatologist that has respect for my time.

Ed Rivera

This place is horrible, they overbook appointments and then make you wait and wait and wait. Looking for another place to go to, what a waste of precious time. What a shame, this useed to be a good place a few years ago, not sure what changed but it’s just horrible.

Jessica Gilroy

Doctor never called in my prescription, pharmacist and I had no way to contact the doctor...the answering service had us wait 36 minutes before we called them to tell us they called an on-call doctor but she wouldnt be home for hours. We just wanted to be able to call the actual office, absolutely no way...told by the answering service. Currently, driving another 45 minutes to the doctors office to verbally tell them they forgot to call in my prescription. A simple office visit and prescription needed has turned into an all day situation. Still need to get to the doctor then drive another 45 minutes to my pharmacy...patients should be able to call the office while doctors are working. Very frustrating....

Nicki Moores

Never again. As with many of the low rated reviews, be prepared to wait an hour with no apologies. Everyone before and after me was seen and when I asked why I'm still waiting, the answer was "Oh - well, YOU"RE seeing Dr. XX! " And ?...so what! Then I get led into the treatment room by an assistant that has the personality of a paperbag and I have to wait another 20 min. When I finally leave the room to say that I've been waiting for an hour since my appt time she just shrugs and says. "Yeah that's right". Like its somehow acceptable. She tries to then push a screening test on me and gets all snarky when I say no thats not what I'm here for. She actually ignored me the rest of the time, like its somehow personal. How unprofessional! Her first name starts with an Ni. Reminder to this staff! You are here to serve the paying customer, your patients. The doctor can be as charming and fantastic as can be but, if the staff acts like they're doing their customers some kind of favor in this office and cop an attitude - guess what, they ruin it for the entire group. There are other dermatologists out there and I can take my time and money elsewhere.

Been going to the Paramus office for years, moved away and tried the Riverdale location close to me. What a mistake, should have read the reviews first. Apparently this office is more interested in money instead of patients. They overbook and do not care about your time. Looking at it another way, how good could the care be if they have to rush through all of t heir patients? If you want good care and want to be taken care of promptly, go to the Paramus office. That is where I am going back too

I had not attended The Dermatology Group in a while, and was surprised to see how poor the reviews were online. The surprise wore off after my visit. While the front office staff was pleasant and helpful, I felt that the time I had actually spent with the physician's assistant was far from productive. I waited over half an hour to spend no more than two minutes with her. If that's the kind of time patients get, I have no idea what I was waiting for. The prescription I received has tons of side effects that were never even mentioned in the appointment. The primary function of the medication is to lower blood pressure (mine is 108/61... will I be alive if it's any lower?) This is all very disappointing considering the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Abbate in the past. My advice, if you will use the Derm Group, get an appointment with a doctor.

Patrick Keefe

The doctors are good, in medical respects. Ultimately, however, they are responsible for the ridiculous waiting times patients endure. Even when called, you will end up waiting in the treatment room for another interminable wait. There is little parking available at this facility, so you almost have to use the valet. Best thing to do is schedule an early appointment.

Madeline Barr

Arrived at 5:20 for 5:45 appt, first time patient and checked in the day before online, did not even wait 5 mins to be seen. In and out with 2 procedures done before 6pm.

Steven Taylor

Wait times are horrible. Been here more than an hour past my appointment time. Find a group that respects their patients tume
