First and foremost, when I was first looking for a dermatologist, someone that I was going to trust with treating my skin, I researched physicians in the area that had exceptional credentials. Dr. Shraga was one of only a few that fell into that category. I was first treated by Dr. Shraga a couple of years ago for a mole removal - I was very impressed with his obvious experience and confidence, and equally happy with the results. I was treated again by Dr. Shraga this last week, again his expertise shone through and along with his pleasant bedside manner and his friendly staff this experience was literally pain-free, quick and easy. I feel very confident that I have a physician with who is giving me the best level of care available and would highly recommend him.

The initial doctors visit was fine, Dr. Shraga heard my concerns and we decided on a treatment together that I was happy with. However, getting refills for my medication has been a complete nightmare. This is the third time in three months that they’ve changed the dosage (gradually raising it) and each time they have not called me when my bloodwork came in, they do not call back when they say they will, and my pharmacy NEVER gets the prescription when the doctors office said it was sent. It took me five back and forth calls between my pharmacy and the doctors office before they got my prescription the second time. I’m currently trying to get my new prescription and once again my pharmacy has not received it when it was apparently “sent”. Every single time I have been out of medication for days and they still don’t call me back. They also do not answer my questions, half the time they give me the wrong information or clearly didn’t hear my question and just repeated what they already said. If I didn’t need this medication, I would never go back to this doctors office again.

My 87 yr. old mother recently went to see Irina Milgram who correctly diagnosed her skin abrasion as skin cancer that had to be removed. The wait time was not even 5 minutes and everyone including Irina was so kind to her that she could not stop telling everyone how great they are there. She went and had the skin cancer removed on Feb. 2nd and again she could not stop telling everyone how wonderful everyone was to her, including the doctor who removed it. I am taking her to her appointment this week (my other sisters took her to the other appointments) and I am looking forward to meeting everyone and telling them how thankful I am to all of them for their kindness. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and anyone who is looking for a dermatologist in the East Brunswick area !

I have been a patient of Dr. Shraga’s for several years now. His office staff are extremely efficient and pleasant and I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my scheduled appointment. As time is valuable to everyone, that consistency of not having to wait long is greatly appreciated. Dr. Shraga is a wonderful doctor in that he is efficient, thorough, explains why and what he is doing, and he takes care in keeping the patient comfortable when doing even the smallest procedure. I have had several excisions done over the years, many on my face, and I have to say that I have not had any scarring whatsoever. He and his staff advise on the after care of any excision/procedure and if you abide by that, you will be pleased with the results. Dr. Shraga is a well respected dermatologist and I am glad that a family member referred me to him a few years back. I will never see another dermatologist after being treated by someone as professional and efficient as Dr. Shraga. If you need a dermatologist and don’t know where to find one who you can trust to provide good, thorough care, look no further and call Dr Shraga for an appointment. You will not be disappointed and trust that you will be under extremely good care. I appreciate all that he has done for me.

My husband, Stephen Melanaski, has been going to Dr. Shraga for years. He always spoke very highly of the doctor and his amazing staff. It was my time to go to the doctor. To say I was completely satisfied would be an understatement. Lisa and Tiffany greet you immediately and make you feel right at home. My examine went well, and I went home feeling that I was taken care of like I was one of the family. I had to bring my husband back for a follow-up exam a week later. I witnessed first hand how caring the staff was. An elderly woman had just finished with her appointment and had to get a taxi. The staff took exceptional care of her, getting the taxi for her, making sure she was comfortable, and kept checking on her. I am very happy with our choice to come to this wonderful, dedicated group of people.

Surprised at the one star reviews. I consider myself a picky person, and I also have previously worked in the medical field. We felt completely comfortable with all aspects of this practice. My husband was there in the past, and we recently took our 8 year old. Everyone was very nice, the Dr was very knowledgeable, caring, trust worthy, quick and to the point. The new office is absolutely beautiful and clean. The music is extremely relaxing.

I selected a doctor from my insurance list. when my wife called to schedule an appointment for me, she was told that they have moved from Cranberry road to route 18, but failed to disclose that Alex Shraga is the "doctor" and not the one listed for this number and address. I thought, well Shraga must be a young Dr who practiced with the other Dr and now moved on his own, let's give him a chance. I read his website and found out he has an assistant whom, supposedly has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from some university in Tel Aviv. other research on line showed that this Irina, the Biologist, is the one who really examines patients and makes decisions. sure enough, after arriving and encountering the very very very cold staff of Alex Shraga, Irina showed up, mumble something( introducing herself) but I could not tell what she called herself, Doctor or assistant doctor.... I let her examine my area of concern. she could not see anything with her humongous magnifying glass. when I told her that I like to wait and see what the doctor has to say, she demonstrated frustration and looked offended. she offered to write me a prescription which I declined and insisted on talking to the doctor. she left. few minutes later the doctor entered the room, looked at the computer screen and asked me if Irina was there. I replied Yes. He said"let me talk to her and I will be back in 2 minutes". after 10 minutes of waiting, I walked out and left the office. I was thinking if the reviews I read before and who really is the decision maker here, the so called biologist or Alex Shraga? who really has a Doctor's degree here? it more and more looked like something is not right here. Either Alex Shraga does not really know Medicine or Irina controls everything and wants to come across like a doctor. either way, I was charged for a specialist visit, my insurance will be billed for a specialist visit. What gives these 2 individuals to right to waste my time bouncing me back in forth between them. How can I trust anyone working in that office when a "biologist" writes prescriptions. I am planning to file a complaint against this office with state of New Jersey and any board that Alex Shraga claims to be a member of. that one star is because the system does not allow publishing reviews without any star.

Horrendous is just the tip of the iceberg with my expierience with this office. Unfortunetely, having worked in the medical field and at the front desk, the disposition there especially towards new patients should be the highlight of your entire office because it fully represents you as a practice. That being said, my 4 year old son had an issue with molluscum contagiousum going on over a year already. Thanks to Obamacare we are now forced to see only doctors in New Jersey and the specialists we had previously wanted to see under our Oxford plan in Staten Island were no longer an option to us. I had gone to one Dermatologist months ago for this who prescribed some extemely expensive ointment that burned my sons skin raw and still this condition did not correct itself. It's a virus. We have to wait a year. He is extremely uncomfortable and I wanted a second and perhaps third opinion on this. I came across this office and was excited it was very close to where we lived and made the appointment. When we arrived at the appointment and I handed over my insurance card the obnoxious woman behind the desk actually recoiled from me as if my Horizon Blue care had the plague. "Ohhh we don't take THAT insurance HERE...". Seriously...? So let me get this straight I was there for a second opinion. Perhaps maybe you could have asked me well we don't take that insurance but if you still wanted to see the doctor you could pay out of pocket because guess what I could afford it. So I told her ok well I can't pay cash to see the doctor...? She looked at me like I was insane and then her whole demeanor changed. I guess when she realized that I wasn't at the mercy of my insurance plan she could treat me like a real patient. I was so physically aggitated it took all I had not to loose it in front of my son and leave. I got my second opinion, got a prescription for Retin-A and here I am once again looking for a third opinion when I stumbled across this and had to add my review. Perhaps I can prevent someone else from having to deal with the obnoxious rude completely unfriendly front desk that should be fired after the horrible reviews being posted about this practice because they are ruining the reputation of the doctors who they should be representing. As a mom of 2 I would look elsewhere.

Staff is not very friendly. Ive called to make a couple of appts in the past and the front desk is constantly Stanton rushing you off the phone. I get it your busy but it’s also customer service and when a parent is calling in for their children I don’t want to be dismissed. Wanted to register my second child for an appointment (1st time 7 years old) he’s more on the nervous end and we are dealing with warts so I wanted to talk to her and she told me to go online and kept putting me on hold. Guess I am not going back there.

Dr. Shraga has very impressive credentials. He has handled many issues for our family ranging from daughters with acne to removal and biopsy of potentially serious things. I trust Dr. Shraga.I appreciate how quick and efficient the office runs. Our family is also happy to see Irena who is the physicians assistant. She is professional and knowledgeable. I read the negative reviews and have never had a similar experience. The PA system works well and is the only way medicine can work in today's insurance environment. I think people had better get used to it if they expect quick access to specialists who take their insurance.

I hate the fact , that they dont make new patients appointment on phone. U have to have computer to make an appointment online. U cant do it on your phone or on your ipad. Wonder person who doesnt have computer, wht they will do. You HAVE to fill out all the information , name add, all the insurance info every single detail on line before u go for ur appointment, so basically u are doing front office job for them. Really have no idea why those girls r there in front desk, who r all pretty rude. Including nurses. I was in with my daughter, dr and nurse came in , dr took loke 5 min, and he left room, and nurse was there typing some info, in computer and just left the rooom, with out letting us know, we r done. Nothing. I just stood for min, wondering if nurse is coming back. But thn i just walked out , Looking for exit door, but no help frm those rude A** ladies. Dont waste ur time with these people. There r much better dermatologists around this area.

I read the reviews before I went, so I was aware of the negative ones... but they were relating to the front desk staff so I prepared myself before going. I agree with the negative reviews. The front desk staff was not the warmest by a long shot. I was greeted very coldly and like others said no eye contact. But I wasn't there for them, I was there for the doctor so I tried to keep that in mind. The nurse was lovely. Very warm and friendly. Wish I got her name because she was the bright spot of my appointment. I met with Irina Milgram. She spent less than 3 minutes with me (no exaggeration) She had an OK bedside manner. She was definitely better than the young lady at the desk. I'm extremely fair skinned - this was her time to say something like "have you had a skin cancer screening lately" and/or "do you have any other concerns that I can address today". I didn't get any of that. She saw that I clearly have acne Rosacea, gave me medication and sent me on my way. All in all I doubt I'll go back. I'll try the medication and go elsewhere. If they do read these reviews... Train the front desk to be a little warmer (in particular Lisa). Its not just about the treatment, but its how your being treated as well. Furthermore, someone with my skin should have skin cancer screening regularly - might want to ask that question before you hand out meds and shove them out the door.

I couldn't agree more with Abe Al on this experience. Upon arrival the staff were so unwelcoming and rude(why would you want these kind of people to work for you, let alone "attend" to your patients?). My husband went in to get examined by a "DERMATOLOGIST" (Dr. Shraga) but was seen by Irina. She could not properly diagnose my husband skin issue. She kept saying it was a bug bite despite the fact that we told her we did not believe it to be, due to not only his but both our symptoms. Just as quick as we were in there, we were out and that is not a compliment to this firm. I would rather much wait to be see by an Experienced and Professional doctor than to not get thoroughly looked at by an Assistant. I would not recommend this place but if you do decide to go I would suggest that you ask to be seen by DR. SHRAGA himself.

I am beyond disappointed in the way Sarah from billing office treated me. I simply called to ask about my bill being that the codes did not describe what procedure was performed. She was extremely rude, condescending defensive and rude. I had to tell her multiple times that I am the customer and I providing her my business and she was being really rude. It was only when I told her that I am writing this review because I have never been treated like this by a doctor's office that she got the actual doctor on the phone to explain the procedure. And at the end of the day, they charged me for a procedure that was 1) not requested 2) not performed. The doctor was pointing the finger at billing and billing was pointing the finger at the doctor for the charge. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone who is looking for competent doctors and back office to go to Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in Red Bank. NEVER should anyone be treated like I was.

I've been going to Dr. Shraga for probably over a decade. He's extremely professional and knowledgeable (google his name to see his impressive credentials). I always come with a long list, yes I'm that kind of patient, and he's always taken the time to go over all my concerns with me. I've never had any issues with the front desk staff or the nurses. Extremely clean which is important. He never tries to push any procedures, in fact he will be honest about the removal of something not being necessary or possibly leaving a scar. I've never had any issues with filling out forms or billing. I would highly recommend him !

Every time I come here with my sons the wait is always long and it is due to the front desk staff being inefficient and taking forever to check you in. The issues we always have are due to misinformation for example the billing address was never updated and they were sending bills to an address that was 8 years old.

Overall, it was okay. The doctors were intelligent and didn't mind discussing my condition. However, the receptionists were so terrible that doctors don't even begin to compensate for my experience. Right from the beginning, I saw both of them being extremely condescending toward their patients, refusing to be helpful in any way. Ladies, if you want to put minimal effort into a job please go work minimum wage.

Very pleased with our experience with Dr. Alexander Shraga. My son had severe eczema that kept him up scratching all hours of the night. I can proudly say that in only 2 weeks my son is 90% clear of his eczema. His staff is also super friendly and we had a great experience. I am VERY thankful for Dr. Shrag !!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!! The Receptionist - Lisa is extremely rude, I had previously made an appointment for my daughter to see the doctor and got a date a month away. As my daughter was in pain and her skin condition was worsening, I called in to see if there were any cancellations for the day. Receptionist Lisa picked up the first time, curtly asked me to hold as I began talking and immediately transferred it to another lady Natalie, who listened to my situation and was considerate and offered an appointment on the same day with another doctor as my daughter was in pain. I said I would call back in 5 minutes to confirm. Unfortunately when I called back the rude receptionist Lisa picked up and this time refused to transfer me to Natalie, claiming that all of them make appointments. I explained the situation to Lisa and she rudely told me that there are no appointments for the day. After insisting that I be transferred to Natalie she put me on hold for a long time (during which I found out Lisa was yelling at Natalie) and finally Natalie came on the line and confirmed the appointment. The rude receptionist Lisa has made me rethink my decision to continue seeing this doctor for my family.

I have seen Dr. Shraga as well as both PA's for myself as well as for my daughter and been very pleased with my experience from beginning to end. Making an appointment online is smooth and easy, their front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the doctor and PA's have been able to help us with issues from doing a skin allergy test to eczema. When I have called to ask questions both Dr. Shraga and the PA"s have taken the time to speak with me. I have and will continue to recommend their office to friends.

So I'm sitting here now in the office. I came 15 minutes early to do paperwork. It has now been 45 minutes and 5 patients who came after me already went in to see dr. Front desk literally told me it takes 45 minutes to process paperwork for a new patient. I have NEVER experienced that before so I found that strange. I just sat there with no update watching later patients get served. Waiting for the dr. is one thing but 45 minutes to complete the paperwork and insurance is excessive. And I have major provider through my employer.

On the website it states “Same Day Appointments Available” however this is ONLY for existing patients. The website needs to state ONLY for existing patients as well as advise no emergency appts available. I worked for amazing oral surgeons and at LEAST they show the care for patients by making availability for emergency patients. This is the first downside of this practice. I called this morning and the lady who picked up sounded as if she just woke up, didn’t really care and didn’t want to be at work. Well, if you are only doing this for a paycheck than maybe you should step aside and let someone else do the job. The first interaction you have with a patient is 98% important and on the phone your additude is equally important! Just speaking with her for 1 minute turned me away from the practice. I than called another practice and they Do not have same day availability on their website but I explained to the receptionist why my daughter needed to come in as an emergency and she was BEYOND helpful and concerned and she said “our doctor understands that things happen overnight so we allow an hour in the schedule for emergencies, I’m glad you called first thing and we will see you at 10 A.M. “ Thank God for that practice!!! You lost my money !!!!

First time at this place. Appointment was for 11:30am arrived at 11:45am. They made us fill out a bunch of applications and short after they said we were late and that we missed the appointment. The place was literally EMPTY and they still were too busy to assist us. No even reschedule was offered. Is this customer service ? Is this how you run a busssiness ? FYI in the real world people can be late.

I had to have a couple of procedures done and I was super nervous but the doctor and nurses made me feel completely comfortable. I would totally give my rating 5 stars but one receptionist, might even be office manager, is very rude! Doesn’t make eye contact, seems like you are bothering her, just not friendly at all. The part that got me the most about her was my first time there was at 9 am when they opened. I was one of the first appointments and she already had a stink face and miserable. Walking in and seeing that face is not what you want to see, especially being a new, nervous patient.

Only had a small procedure to drain a cyst on my face and it went very well. Irina did my procedure quickly and efficiently and the cyst went down with no issues. From checking in to finishing the draining, I was only in there for about 30-45 minutes. The desk people were not rude whatsoever neither in person nor on the phone to me, contrary to the previous reviews. While I did not go here for any major operations and cannot speak for that, my simple issue left me with a nice experience. Will be going back again next time I have a skin issue.

Very kind PA, but between billing issues and having to go in for 3 separate biopsy appointments and 2+ procedures within 8 months, I was not thrilled. If you go for a skin screening, specify a full body examination and be proactive by asking for biopsies of anything suspicious, so you don't end up having to go back on separate occasions for things that might be able to be handled at the same time.
