Today was my first visit with Dr. Alam and it was the best experience I have ever had at a physician's office. When you walk into the office, you feel like you are at someone's home, it such a beautifully decorated office to go with its amazing staff. I was greeted with big smiles and the associates were happy to help me with any questions I had about the new patient paperwork. I had an 11am appointment and was even taken early. Dr. Alam is thorough and listens to all of your questions and concerns. He is a kind man and has an excellent bedside manner. If you are looking for a new Obgyn, call the office, you will not be disappointed.

Not sure how to even start here. I've visited this doctor twice and don't think I'll be returning. Dr. Abu Alam is a very calm and older doctor which is easing however, he mildly breaks hippa laws. As he was talking with me he noticed where I worked and then proceeded to advise me he's been the doctor of one of my co workers since she was 16 years old and explains how often she visits him. I would've never known that Dr. Abu was her doctor if he never mentioned it to me. After he examined me he took the clamps out of me and then brought them up to his nose to smell it. I'm not sure if this is normal but it startled me. I'm told the older doctors do this to make sure everything is right in there. That still is absolutely startling and gross. I shouldn't have gone back after this but I recently made my yearly appointment. I waited in the waiting room for 2 hours. Nearly ALL the patients left because of the wait. I had to question the nurses if they had my file and if I needed to update anything. This took them a bit to get it together and they finally located my file and told me to change and wait in the office for the doctor. When Dr. Abu came in I quickly realized why he was behind schedule. He has A LOT of stories to share with his patients. He finally got back to being the doctor after his long stories and asked me my height and weight. Now mind you I take pride in my health and I participate in many marathons and belong to a boxing gym. When I told dr. Abu my height and weight he told me I'm way to fat for my height and I need to slow down my eating maybe lay off the sodium. Ok. I am far from being overweight or fat. When I asked him if he had another suggestion other than being so abrupt of explaining his "expertise" on a woman's weight he advised me that he had a special pill for me and it's called zipper my mouth shut and try starving myself to a skinnier weight. I'm so glad I have a great sense of humor on this and have confidence in my body. Not many woman have that confidence in themselves and Dr. Abu was extremely inappropriate even if it were in a joking manner. I explained to him I'm a runner. He didn't even apologize and said well maybe it's just muscle weight instead of being so fat. He excused himself for being so old school

Dr Alam was my mother’s obstetric doctor for the birth of me, and later became my gynecologist. He has a gentle demeanor and is understanding and helpful. However, lately he has gotten extremely popular and I think is in charge of a unit in the hospital so it is extremely difficult to schedule with him, and i feel as though I was put on the back burner because I am a patient for gynecology, not obstetrics. I called and contacted the office four times in order to make sure a prescription was sent out for me ( they kept saying it was sent but it was not.) and they still have not sent it to express scripts even though they claim to have sent it (after FIVE phone calls from me.) WAY too full and busy. On rare occasion you may be sent home after waiting for multiple hours because of delivery emergencies dr alam is required to rush to. (Last month I waited two hours and ended up not even seeing him.) Find a doctors office who has the time and capacity for you! I literally was there to get my birth control prescription refilled. Should not be this difficult.

He is the most amazing doctor I have had. He is caring and considerate, and listens to you. He genuinely cares about his patients and takes the time to make sure all your concerns are addressed. Truly a gem of a doctor. I wish more doctors were like him. I hope he never retires.

if anybody from Doctor Alams office checks this I would appreciate a response. I call and nobody answers and when I do get someone on the phone they say they will call back and never do. I think Dr. Alam is amazing but his staff is an issue. This is URGENT! My pharmacy calls and calls and calls and nobody responds to them. I need my prescription filled immediately! I have been called DURING BUSINESS HOURS and nobody answers the phone. Rebecca Sooy.
