Looks nice on the inside but the quality here is mediocre at best! I would not recommend this hospital for labor/maternity. Moved from 2 stars to 1 for day the 2 experience. Nurses/Doctor refuse to give one ready to feed bottle for anticipated 3 plus hour drive - (5pm discharge) from Dover NH to Bristol Rhode Island. Anyone with an IQ knows the traffic at that time. Their rational " she is breastfeeding, just pull over to feed him".

I was born here and they treated my mother amazing.

Holly Heriot

The nurse never checked on my mother, after her first assessment. No check in to see how she felt or if she needed some water. The aide or who ever he was was rude when my mom was waiting to be discharged. I will be contacting the Director of the ER and the President of the hospital. I've never seen this lack of compassion before!

I was brought in by ambulance after suffering a seizure. Was kept in hospital for over 2 weeks while they tested me for everything under the sun. I'm widowed and have no family and thus, no rights. They kept me against my will, restrained, and finally released me after I agreed to a spinal tap. I have never been more frightened or bullied in my life. I would have to get better to die rather than go back to this "institution." I grew up and lived in Boston where there is a GOOD hospital on every corner. Up here in the woods, I guess, no I KNOW it's not the same. I found out the hard way. I hope you don't.

I had a lumbar puncture here, where they removed 26ccs of csf to relieve optic nerve swelling from intercranial hypertension. I needed a blood patch procedure to close the leak, but wdh does not provide aftercare for any complications. I was told to call if I had any pain. Going in to this my doctors were aware that I have had complications in the past. I called and got a massive run around. This hospital that does the procedure wanted me to wait 72 hours to see a third party pain clinic for a blood patch, a procedure that any half compitent anestheisiologist can perform. After hours of back and forth I was at least given a pain med. This hospital is a complete joke. They are the definition of profits before people. Disgusting.

Mahdi Bagheri

Their services are not as good as you might think. First of all, you have to wait at least one hour to be visited in emergency room. Second of all, when they accept you, you will not receive any specific treatment. Just usual cares that every medical institute provides, no more.

We recently had my second baby delivered in Wentworth Douglass hospital. We really had a very good experience during our delivery, even our first kid was delivered here in 2013. The staffs , doctors and nurses are very friendly and so nice. We have been taken care by Nurse Elaine and Nurse Courtney. I want to specially thank them for taking good care of us. Both of them were very kind and exceptional in taking care of us. Definitely a very good hospital in the seacoast area.

They helped me a lot

We went there with our 8-month daughter suffering with a lot of pain after having her fingers locked and mashed. We spent about 30 min with her crying out loud and with no one had care to give any real support at all. Even spending 10-15min inside triage, nobody really cared about the real problem and only following formal procedures filling out data in a computer, asking not relevant questions, and taking her weight !!! She was in panic and the nurse was concerning about putting her on a balance to get her weigth while she could not stand herself in pain!!! What is the relevance having weight when you have your fingers painful!?? Where is the good sense on that? Of course we had to wait the whole triage before stepping inside, and what happened after .. we had nobody coming to us at least to say something. Around to 2:10 we gave up. I asked to people behind the desk for someone, and I just got: “the doctor is busy now” What? How a big size hospital there is nobody to provide prompt support for an emergency case? No nurse? no practitioner? Definitely that approach was no supposed to get if you come to an emergency room. Highest prices are applied to this kind of service that you don’t get when you really need.

I went to the ER at 3:15pm, I was put in a room and wasn’t told anything. By 6pm I hadn’t had any communication, not even a visit from the doctor as to what was going on. I finally got my blood drawn at 7:30- again told the doctor would be coming to me next. An hour and a half later the doctor comes in, the rudest doctor I have ever dealt with. Didn’t even let me talk or explain what was going on, then told me I couldn’t get an ultrasound (the reason I went to the ER from Urgent Care) But I could get a stomach catscan. Finally around 9:45pm I was taken to get a catscan, doctor came to review the results with me, again, super super rude. Unbelievable how the doctor was treating HER patients, the nurses were fabulous. The doctor kept cutting me off and wouldn’t let me speak a full sentence and ran out of the room. Worst ER experience I’ve ever had, I wish I could give zero stars for the doctor. Finally after 7.5 hours I went home.

EXCELLANT TEAMWORK FROM ALL DOCTORS AND NURSES. JUST ONE MALE NURSE GAVE ME A PROCEDURE THAN HELPS ONE URINATE . IT HURT LIKE HELL WHEREAS THE OTHERS I HAD DID NOR HURT THAT BAD.HE NEEDED A BIT MORE TRAINING. HE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THE MORE EXPERIENCED NURSES. THE REST OF MY TREATMENT WAS EXCELLENT BY EVERYONE.

I am so sorry to hear the negative reviews...my husband had chest pain and in less than 3 hours they had stent in him and hes foing well already..

My father has a chronic condition and has been brought in by ambulance twice in recent months. He is 85 and in a wheelchair. His condition presents itself as fevers and leaves him weak, requiring intravenous antibiotics. The hospital file is thick and they are well aware of his condition. Both times in the last ER visits they have discharged him back to the care of my 86 year-old mother and then the hospital has called her back to bring him in, now weaker than even before, because they then realized the treatment he needs. Most recently Dr Ortiz discharged him at 3:00 in the morning after my mother and her 88 year-old sister had gone home. My mother cannot drive at night and did not want to wake her sister, so the hospital agreed to ALLOW him to stay until 5:00 AM. She brings him home so weak he barely has control over himself and he was back at the hospital that same day, once again worse than the initial visit, and once again admitted for the intravenous antibiotics his condition requires.

Tough to call your kid's appendectomy a great experience, but everyone we dealt with here was fantastic. Doctors, nurses, people at the desk, all seemed like they really cared about parents and child alike. Makes such a difference in time of crisis. Love and kudos to all!

Rob Machado

The nurses care about their. Patients their needs are met with happy faces no matter what I had to stay for a couple of days and if it was not for 2 particular nurses I would have not healed as fast as I did

Arrived with severe Pneumonia and was admitted the same night on July 25th of 2017. I was treated and cared for so well! My wife was with me the whole time and very observant of everything and also felt I was in good hands while there for 5 days. They were thorough and diligent in their care of me. Sure, no one likes to be woke every 3 hours for testing but it is what made the difference in me getting better and going home. I had a great staff both day & night shifts, from the doctors, nurses and nurses assistants, I applaud you all for a job well done! I would recommend going there with confidence!

I went in with delirium from dehydration and I left with a 7000$ bill. They ran multiple, unnecessary tests and even reran my test for mono when they had the positive results from a clinic I had gone to. The evening staff visited me upon arrival and never returned. I sat in the Emergency department from 0100 to 0700 so that they could pass me off on the day crew. They never explained what they were doing , all the tests came back fine, they tried to get me to admitted even though I said I didn't want to, and I had to leave AMA. I only needed fluids... The billing people sent only one notice that arrived while I was still ill and then they sent the debt off to debt collectors. These people only want your money. There is no patient care. There is only arrogance and greed.

Deb Peirce

Absolute worst experience. Brought my husband in and because he has no insurance we waited over two hours in the hallway to be put in a room then they treated him like he was a nobody who only wanted drugs. He is epileptic and also been weak dizzy and vomiting all day. NOBODY should be treated that way regardless of their ability to pay. Real professiinal...NOT

While I was in for mental health, one of their security guards broke my rib. The doctor took 24 hours before he would do an xray and when I commented that they broke it, him and the guard in my doorway kinda laughed.

Alyssa Jepsen

Rude staff, long wait times and ignorant doctors. Mothers, I advise reading this before taking your child here. I dislocated my left kneecap a few month earlier and it was out of socket for at least three hours before we even got to the hospital due to the amount of pain i was in. Note that the longer a bone stays out of socket, the more nerve damage and swelling there is. I was evaluated quickly, given a wheelchair and was told to rest. They started to see minor injuries such as a young boy with a large scrape on his leg, a woman with asthma who was having slight difficulty breathing (she even offered to let me go first, but they refused), and an older gentleman who was a bit dizzy. By the time i was even invited back, my kneecap has been out for 4 and a half hours. Way too long. The nurse that came to get me was incredibly rude. I had my leg resting on the ground, I’m unable to lift it without a ton of difficulty, and she tells me that if I don’t move my leg up now, I don’t get to be seen. When I ask for time, she scoffs and begins to PUSH ME FORWARD with my leg on the ground. Which caused cartilage damage in my knee. Her excuse for being this way? “Oh, a patient by me last night and I’m not in the mood for dramatic teens” This is NO excuse for physically harming a 14 year old. When I was finally taken back they insisted I only needed laughing gas and attempted to put my knee back in socket even though I said I wasn’t ready and scolded me for screaming. I had to be sedated. It then took three hours for me to get discharged and get my pt papers. I am now physically incapable of running without collapsing, my knee snaps around, and I often fall on the stairs due to the random pain spikes. I may only be 14, but I know a lot about the medical field. I study it, I want to be a doctor. My mother went off on that nurse and was almost kicked out because that nurse tried to physically harm me and the front desk thought that was more appropriate than my mothers “entitlement.” I would not advise going here. They’re negligent toward teens and don’t understand the concept of pain.

Christmas day my husband was sent over by express care to wentworth Douglass ER. They wanted him to go by ambulance but he wanted to drive himself. Lady at the front was so miserable and rude. She said, "you're here to see that guy?!" When I asked for my husband. She said " he eloped!" I apologized and explained why. (He left and came home to talk to me about the fact that she said he had to be medically cleared to draw blood, and he was off from dehydration) um, why the medical clearance??? For what? We have insurance? The nurse didnt know what she meant by that either, after I asked her when we asked someone for help. He was left in a room for 45 mins and never seen when he came back. No blood was drawn, NOTHING. Nurses were up front eating and fighting going on over having to give report to a another nurse that was rude to one of them and a half hour late for report. I get that it was Christmas but really? My husband needed help. We left after I asked a random nurse what to do. HE WAS NEVER SEEN. I asked if I should give him benadryl to help him sleep and she said, "ya give him that w sleepytime tea" WHAT??? After express care wanted him to go over by ambulance and said his electrolytes may have been off? The desk nurse gave us a dirty look when we were leaving and lady out front said, "Oh have a Merry Christmas! Told ya we wouldnt keep ya!" WHAT??? You people didn't do anything?! I got him a Gatorade after we left hoping it would help w his electrolytes being off since that's what express care was concerned with? Most ridiculous and rude hospital I have ever been to. Never again. As if any patient wants to be in a hospital on Christmas. These people should find another line of work if they don't want to be there! Horrific!

Christopher or Chris/Critter C

This not to every doctor or nurse. There decent people working here. the problem falls on the attitudes. Do you think any one really wants to be Hospital? no the attitudes in the emergency room and many others could be seriously improve. I get a hospital is a stressful environment. Nurses and doctors need to not show it and chill... I like to see some more improvements with staff and its patients without the attitudes and listen to what there telling you. I get sometimes you have to go by the policies and sometimes have to make hard calls. But your going to piss panties off your going to stress yourself more. This Hospital has wonderful chance to be come a place where people would love to go if they NEEDED TO. i remember when i was a young child my mom brought me to er only to bring me over to Portsmouth later cause of the attitude you think by now you change things around

Horrible care for the most part. "Specialists" are a joke. The "Express Care" is basically just a middleman down the road to gouge you for more money before sending you to the ER. Their billing and records system is also a nightmare and completely disorganized. Wentworth Douglas does have a monopoly on this area and patient care is suffering because of it.

Alexander Averine

This is the strangest hospital I have ever been in. The nursing staff seems pleasant but I would reccomend you avoid the cafeteria entirely, while the food is edible the staff in charge of serving and checking you out seem as though they are from another planet!

alyssa jenkins

I delivered my baby girl here and they were incredible throughout the entire labor and birth. My nurses were just spectacular and I couldn't be happier with the care my baby ans I received.

zenduane .

This place is screwed up. They can't even follow through with a simple ECHO. Messed me up 3 times. The Lee Circle is very good but the main campus destroys all their good work.

Doctors are nice. That's it thought. Nurses bedside manner is needing improvement at best. Was forced to get unnecessary testing in order to receive any treatment for an obvious sinus infection. Been to this hospital unfortunately several times and almost never a decent experience. Their phones staff is rude and insulting with no regard for their job or the wrongdoings of their employer. A huge overpriced bill for a terrible experience. Advising everyone to stay away from this place. Btw WHD i have over 200k followers on several youtube channels and over 660k international followers on nnd. This will be shared with them all.

We recently spent time in room 338. The nurses especially Mary on the night shift and Ryan on days were caring and compassionate during the time we spent with our father, brother, and uncle while he passed away. Thank you both so much for the time you spent talking to the family explaining each step in the process.

I went into Walk-In Urgent Care at Lee Wentworth-Douglass Professional Center with an ear infection had to go back the next day because it got worse and was starting to affect my hearing. I was charged $502. Seriously... I wasn't even in there for an hour. Horrible!!!

Victoria Sullivan

If I could rate this last experience a 0 I would. We went to the emergency room, and was placed in a hallway for 4 hours, which happened to be right next to one of the offices. During that 4 hours we had to listen to all the nurses complain about how busy it was and talk about patients including us. It was highly inappropriate, saying disrespectful things about patients. Maybe if they weren’t walking around on their cellphones gossiping, things wouldn’t have been as busy. I expected a lot more from them.

I've been going to Wentworth-Douglass hospital ever since i moved to New Hampshire in 1999. I've seen the quality of care and empathy of the health care providers go down, way down. I had both of my children in this hospital. I was very impressed by my ob's and midwives, but they aren't only at the hospital, they have their own office. As far as any of my recent visits to the e.r., I was not impressed. I slipped on the ice, sprained my shoulder very badly, took the ambulance in because i couldn't drive with my shoulder in severe pain. I want even offered ibuprofen or any anti-inflammatory medication. When they were going to release me, crying in pain still, I finally said, "All of this time sitting here in severe pain, and you can't offer me some of your extremely overpriced ibuprofen?!?!". I was so upset about the lack of empathy and care. I plan to avoid this hospital from now on, if i can help it. I should have just brought my own medication.

Liz Austin

Currently waiting and have been for about 3 hours in the emergency room for a work injury. People have left due to the staff being unable to work and get people to be seen. The waiting room is disgusting and the only nice person I saw was for checking in. Every time I come here it is like this. No one has good bedside manners and are rude. Even if it looks good on the outside, it’s horrendous on the inside. Don’t recommend to anyone. Should’ve gone to frisbee memorial.

Do NOT bother with the "express care." We went last December while on vacation and have now received five different bills to two different addresses with three different spelling of names. They also entered my birthdate incorrectly. It's been over four months and we are still trying to sort out the bill from Wentworth-Douglass and the insurance company. We have tried calling to figure out each of the bills but we can't match their bills with what our insurance company has. Furthermore, it appears they bill as an emergency room visit, which makes everything cost more. If you have an emergency go to the ER, otherwise stick with an urgent care center.

I have been in the area off and on for more than 30 years. WDH has been my choice for patient care for my family and we live 40 minutes away. We have had questionable care from other regional hospitals and find that the 'for-profit' hospitals were the worst in care, attention to basic practices and job/procedure knowledge.

Chad Bradbury

Cost was ridiculously high.

Day of delivery the ultrasound machine was "broken" don't tell me u can't find another one kicking around. Don't let this hospital fool you. The looks on the outside don't tell of the untrained, low quality care given.

Ryan Quigley

Terribly rude staff. Unwilling to help in the slightest and will always blame others for mistakes. They do not accommodate for anything and will never take responsibility for their own actions. DO NOT GO HERE

Alexis Paquette

This review is about whoever answers the phone there. What a jerk. There are a lot nicer ways to say “I can’t help you.”

Tammy Henner

Unbelievably rude and uninformative nurses on 10/19/18 evening 930 to 1200am. I asked repeatedly about my uncle's condition, what was going on , how long procedures would take. I was given absolutely no answers other than, "I'm not his nurse" "I'm not sure" or " please wait in the waiting room" I asked if someone could please get me information as I'd waited 2.5 hours for answers. No response other than, I'm not his nurse. The doctor, asked my uncle how long his stomach and back pain had been occurring despite having told her 2 hours earlier, that it had been since the night prior. The hospital was near empty, waiting room empty. This was not a hectic night where it should of slipped her mind. She was as rude as the nurses were. I am his emergency contact, therefore HIPAA policy didnt come into play. I will never go there after being treated the way I was as a relative to a patient. Let alone the actual patient. The paramedic who checked him in, was wonderful. He was polite and courteous as were the front desk staff. Its unfortunate that pleasantry didn't run off on the nurses and doctors. Absolutely uncalled for. Maybe they give great medical care, but their bedside manner needs HUGE improvement.

Worst cafeteria ever. The health police have banned all sweet drinks so you are forced to poison yourself with artificial sweeteners instead of enjoying natural sugar drinks.

Honestly one of the nicest, cleanest, modern hospitals I've been to. The people here are amazingly nice and treat you like family. They really care and make every procedure as comfortable as possible. The cardiac and ct/xray/MRI people are amazing. Every single person from the second you walk in to the second you walk out is nice. They never have a bad day... I don't know how they do it. Keep up the great work !!

Received a bill from collections in my fathers name - called hospital to see what it was for - 7 months later - gave them account # for the bill and the girl comes back and says she can't talk to me - i'm not on the account - No kidding - my father died - can't believe that they wouldn't even tell me what the service was for - not like i was asking his personal info - i already have that - poor poor poor service

Amazing hospital. Never had a problem with ER visits over the years and recently my wife gave birth to our child here. Their setup for this is amazing! My wife had a few medical issues and the staff was so amazing to her. Would recommend this hospital to anyone!!!!

KB Vlogs

Long wait attitude from staff I am never coming here again my insurance isn't paying good money for me to be treated poorly

Claudia Nunn

I cannot thank all the staff enough for your humor, compassion and healing help. They have patient advocates who check to make sure your needs are being met (I noticed some complaints in the other reviews) they will listen and help. Thank you all again I feel well cared for and respected. Oh yeah, and better healthwise!

Brian Schopen

The level of incompetence at this hospital is astounding. I wish I could rate it zero stars. I took my wife in for heartburn and upper chest pain which we were both pretty sure has something to do with her gallbladder. The first nurse refused to listen to my wife and stuck a needle in her arm and moved it around so bad she bruised my wife’s arm. We had to ask for a different nurse to come in and start an IV. The staff were rude and dismissive of my wife’s numerous attempts to tell them of her medical history and what she wanted. 5 hours after the fact and my wife feels worse than when she showed up. The icing on the cake was when a PA walked in and basically said it was acid reflux. Total incompetence. That will kill someone in the medical field. I should consider myself lucky that they didn’t kill her. Don’t ever go to the ER at this hospital. You’d be better off doing surgery on yourself. Borderline malpractice.

diane millard

On July 23,2018 they denied my surgery because of my disability and threw me out of hospital, THEY BILLED AND WERE PAID FOR SERVICES NEVER GIVEN!!!

Molly Doherty

From my experience staff is always great. Facility is very clean and also very beautiful. My advise is follow the signs to the department you are going to. If parking in the garage read the signs to find a space that is not reserved.

Bob Baker

I must say that I was treated with dignity and care after I was admitted for an internal injury. All of the nurses and doctors that attended to me were very professional and made me feel comfortable for my stay.

Anh Pham

Clean, comfortable waiting areas and bathrooms. Warm and welcoming staff. Cafeteria with reasonably priced and healthy options.

A trip to the WDH ER has very little to be desired. Short wait to get in and then I sat in a room with chipped cabinets, peeling wallpaper and chipped paint for hours. The miniature TV on the wall was inoperable and a constantly clanging ventilation system. This room was similar to a hospital room in a 3rd world country. Then, after a visit from a PA, I waited for over 2.5 hours to receive medication prior to a procedure. He obviously forgot about the order. It was only after tracking down a nurse that I received my medication 30 minutes later. This nurse told me that the PA hadn't ordered the medication because he was "stuck with an ambulance". Later, a different nurse told me that the reason he didn't order the medication was because he was, " consulting with a physician". They couldn't get their story straight! I then asked the second nurse how long it would be until I would receive my medication order...she looked at me with disdain and didn't respond. I asked her for an estimate so that I could have an idea as to how much longer I would be waiting. She replied "20 minutes" and walked out. It took about 50 minuted before I received the medication. And then I waited another hour plus for them to bring me in for the procedure 6 hours in the WDH ER dungeon on a day that wasn't busy, rude staff and a subpar, 3rd world room. Ridiculous...

Lisa Martel

Newmarket New Hampshire’s Dr. Deborah Learson must have come from this Dover office. When going to a doctor for help and leaving the office feeling more frustrated and angry about the doctor not listening to you isn’t what I’m looking for. I suggest you keep the $180 office visit charge and go else where !!!!!!

Tracy Pearson

Horrific ER. Horrific. The ER experience on 8/19 was like the last day before a store closes. The place was vacant. The nurses were nowhere to be found. When they were they were incompetent and harmful. The first time I saw a nurse she drilled down into a vein and it blew. She ran away. The second time was when her younger colleague came in, not with any urgency, because 6 hours after arriving I decided to leave, and I had removed the tape (just tape & gauze) and I was now actively bleeding from the gaping wound in my arm, all over my gown. She accused me of removing an IV that I never received. Nursing staff would have known that had I actually had a nurse. She was more concerned with her feelings than actually helping me. As my husband went through drawers to find something to stop the bleeding, the doctor and a nurse came in - oh "we've seen worse" regarding the blood stain on the gown, and couldn't answer questions. I left without paperwork or options. The doctors were not nice. One was trying to do the least amount of work possible. He didn't inform me of a plan, had no willingness to communicate, and frankly treated me like he wished I wasn't there. The other, sent in to placate me from the hospitalist staff, wanted to opine on how my physician at MGH who is the Clinical Director of Research, actually wrote the book on protocols in a particular area, and was on faculty at Harvard, was wrong and knew nothing. Here's the best part: I wasn't there for that issue. Take away: If I were bleeding from my abdomen with all of my organs hanging out, I would drive myself to MGH. I would drive myself to a healer. I would go anywhere but this hospital. I left without treatment and with physical injury after I was assaulted. If I could post a photo here I would.

Sheila Elliott

My most recent visit was upsetting. I overheard one of the doctors comment "she's a regular". It was insulting and embarrassing. I was having chest pains which turned out to be gastritis. I suffer from severe panic attacks and PTSD.

Kathy Hanley

The staff is so considerate of your privacy and anxiety. From Doctors, to PA's, medical assistants, of course the nursing staff really do more and notice very slight differences that made my life great again instead of unknowns.

Ace Pierce

I went into the urgent care because earlier in that day I had experienced two separate episodes of extreme stomach discomfort followed by a feeling that someothing was wrong. I can only describe it as a gut feeling that something is going to happen. About half the time this feeling is followed by convulsions ranging from a gentle shake to a muscle tensed, violent jerk and twitch. I have seen several specialist for this and nobody has been able to tell me what's wrong. But it has been about 13 months of tests and having doctor after doctor not take me and my fiance seriously because we are in our early adulthood. I was rushed in when I explained what was going on. I got a room emedietly. Natural my fiance was very confused and scared so she was teary. The nurse who came into the room and saw me and my fiance hand in hand obviously very frightened. she asked what was going on and when i tried to explain she kept making jokes at the way i was speaking. I found this esspeccually offrensive because i already have a stutter to start and the seizure earlier had made it difficult to speak. She then asked my fiance about my symptoms and my fiance began to tear up. She interrupted my fiance several times telling her not to cry anymore. The entire time the nurse was very inappropriately grinning from ear to ear as if we were children acting beyond reason. She left the room for about 15 minutes. My fiance pointed out to me that my heart rate became abnormal and arithmetic for a few seconds. I started to have nausea at this point followed by the gut feeling i have before an episode. with everything going on didn't want to risk missing anything that may help to get a step closer to finding out what's wrong. When we asked the nurse if anything was wrong she swiftly entered the room and said to my fiance: "well if you're going to sit here and watch the monitor I'm just going to unhook him." She then without even a second thought unhooked me from the monitors I was on. I then informed her that i thought i was about to have a seizure and she smiled at me and once more told me to focus on something else and i would be fine. She then wheeled the monitors out into the hall and closed the door behind her. Leaving my fiance and I without medical supervision despite already being made aware that i thought I might have another episode. A few minutes later I did start to tense uo and quiver for a few seconds. Followed by unresponsivness involuntary moaning and light muscles twitches and spasms. As it was happening by coincidence a different nurse came in and took one look at me and said out loud with confidence that I wasn't having a seizure and I just needed to calm down. He adjusted me into bed because I had slipped about half way out of bed during the episode. He then told my fiance to not let me slip out of the bed then he walked out of the room and once again my fiance and I were left completely unattended and this time while I was mid seizure. I was now in my phase of being very incoherent and unresponsive. At this point I black out for several minutes and try to talk but I cannot get out more than gibberish from what I have been told by those who've seen me in my episodes. Because I am blacked out at this point I don't remember what happened during the next few minutes. When I became coherent the male nurse from earlier was next to my finance helping me out if the episode. He came back with pills that he without hesitation unpackaged and told me to take because they'd help. He'd just given me adivan. Adivan is a depression and anxiety medicine that they give also to people with seizures to relax their muscles. This did help me to relax after my episode. When i could speak again i talked to one of the hospitals social workers and I told her about what happened. People go to the ER because we need help. Not judgement. I only hope that nobody else had to experience the poor health care service I did at Wentworth-Douglass. And I hope the nurses responsible are reprimanded.

Was at the emergancy room with my head split open bleeding for 4 hours till it got stapled up. When i asked for possible protocol i was greeted with a rude "I CANNOT HELP YOU". they could have just given me a "sorry im unable to assist" but instead was unwarranted rudeness. I get that it's a stressful job, but a little class goes a long way.

Had back surgery here a couple of years ago that required a 2 night stay. Everything, from the staff to the meals was absolutely terrific. The nurses were fantastic! I've also used the Express Care in Lee for one emergency muscle sprain and several times for lab work. I found them prompt (5 minute wait), courteous, cheerful and efficient. No complaints whatsoever.

Brenda, the nurse in the Bariatric Center at WD is the rudest person to deal with. 2 conversations have ended with me in tears and hanging up on her. I had one simple question and she did her best to shame me and treat me like I'm an idiot. She has no supervisor so you can't even call and discuss her behavior with anyone. I would suggest that if you want bariayric surgery go ANYWHERE except for WD. She has no personality but one for shaming. She should NEVER be in contact with the public! In all my years I've NEVER been treated so badly for asking a simple question!! Horrible woman!

I went into the ER in excruciating pain with a kidney stone. The staff took my information, then wheeled me into the waiting room in a wheelchair, leaving me *facing* a waiting family (within a few feet) as I was crying and doubled over. Not fair to them or me, and totally unnecessary! The "nurses" did a terrible job with my IV, putting it in a sensitive area even after being told I had a history of vasal vagal reactions and leaving me with a massive bruise that lasted for two weeks. I kept telling them that the pain med wasn't working - then an hour later, after my CAT scan, the hipster doctor came in and said, "WOW, sorry I spaced your pain meds! I was gonna do it, and then..."

Great Hospital, took me right away into the ED and treated and released me within 1 hour..

Our twins were born at WD in 1985. Since that time I have broken my ankle (on a Sunday when the twins were six months old), received prompt, wonderful care from the staff, nurses, and Dr. Demambro. Since that time I have had seven surgeries (reconstruction, replacement, and repair), as well as inpatient admittance for an intestinal condition and two total knee replacements. Dr. Thut is amazing! My husband has been seen in the ER (and consequently by WD affiliated specialists) twice for rare conditions. The last time Prompt Care called the ER immediately as the scope of care and treatment was not under their purview. The ER staff members, both times, were friendly and professional. We waited just a few minutes before the medical team began their treatment(s). My husband and I left both times feeling relieved and confident that the Rx and diagnoses were accurate. We can't say enough about WD-Hospital and their affiliates. We are both patients at WD-Associates at the Member's Way facility. We LOVE the Yellow Team!

I would have give negative starts if I could have. Staff at Physical Therapy is rude, pathetic and lack basic kindness. No one pick up the call at the front desk and if you leave you call back number they never call. I tried to make an appointment for initial assessment which I never able to, I ended up choosing something else. I will never ever going back to Wentworth Douglass hospital again. Stay away from it if you can.

Fantastic care from everyone! Disappointed that the communication between doctor and outside pharmacy caused a delay in my medication. I was released yesterday and still waiting for doctor to return call to pharmacy.

Having given this great thought, I can say that much needs to be done to improve the ER (After Check-in, behind admissions). Having had to go there with my wife for a non life threating injury on a Sunday Morning, check in was prompt speedy and efficient and the waiting room was empty. The front staff was compassionate. But once you pass through the doors into the ER and assigned a room this is another story. You can expect at minimum 90 minutes to a 2 hour wait time if not more. They will check your vitals (Unknown if it's a nurse as no one introduced themselves as one) which seemed every hour or so of waiting. Not once was anything offered for her to drink (Water, Juice), nor myself as well, good thing we brought our own bottled water? After 1 hour 56 minutes a Doctor did finally appear, and started asking questions to assess the situation for treatment. And then came up with a treatment plan for her. Which was all fine except for the excessive waiting time. What needs to be fixed are the rooms, and making sure the patient is hydrated. Furniture needs to be replaced, due to age (Worn, Extremely Visible), chipped floor and wall mounted cabinets, wall mounted TV's that do no work, hallways cluttered with various medical devices surrounding check out area (It was a Maze to walk around). In a nutshell I can hardly wait to see what my insurance company is going to be charged. For such a beautiful Hospital, the internal workings need "Serious" attention. I can assume that my insurance company will be charged an excessive amount of money, maybe at the least they can buy some bottle water to offer the patients and their spouses while they wait. "Come on Staff, we can do better than this!"

I’ve had 4 babies there and a few same day surgeries and the staff was all so kind and competent! The maternity wing is gorgeous and they do a fantastic job to make momma and baby feel safe and comfortable.

Tabitha over in ultra sound is the most miserable employee I have ever come across in any hospital in the 5 states I lived in. If you hate your job and treat your patients like trash then I will let everyone know to go anywhere but there. There are hospitals in Rochester and Portsmouth so don't be decieved by the nice outside look of the building. Run!!!!

My mother moved to Dover so she could be close to Wentworth Douglass and she was hospitalized 4 times due to chronic illness. She was treated kindly, thoroughly and with great respect up until and including her death. Several staff members wrote condolence notes. Very surprised to see negative reviews because of cafeteria complaints, who does that?
