The reception always makes me feel like in inconvenience. The phones are always "busy" when I try calling. It has been two days now. Their responses to reviews alone says a lot about the company. My family has thyroid issues and mine is hereditary, the concern and patient care seems to be none existent. This practice is the opposite of welcoming. I wIll be looking elsewhere

I have been going to the Thyroid Center for about two years. Dr Levine is excellent, and communicates with you very well during your visits. The staff is also friendly and always seems concerned with your needs. They have always been prompt with returning my calls. I could not be happier with the care.

I've been seeing Dr. Levine for many years. His continued screening of my thyroid levels and ultrasounds caught the second occurrence of my thyroid cancer early. He agreed to see my daughter to make sure she was cancer free and helped her levels come back into line (no cancer!). I have always found him to be responsive and caring. When I had to undergo my second surgery - he monitored me closely for the pre-op conditions and continues to be considerate and on point with the adjustments in my medication. Thyroid medications need tweaking periodically - I have always been the best I can be with his care.

I have been going here for over 4 years. I have hypothyroid disorder, and in all four years of constant appointments, I am still not being medicated properly. Every time I have a blood test, my thyroid numbers come back terribly! Its been 4 years! I understand that the medication needs to be increased slightly, but after 4 years I expect some results. I have been kept waiting at this office for 20 minutes to even 90 minutes. My most recent appointment I was 10 minutes late to because of traffic (I know it is my fault), but the receptionist rudely turned me away, She made no attempt to accommodate me for another appointment, she couldn't even bother to turn me away politely. And to add on to a previous post, I too have never seen the doctor, only nurses. I will be looking for another center.

I have been to Dr. Levine's office numerous times. From the minute I step into the office I know that experts are at work. The front desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor and his nurse are the best in endocrinology and I would follow any recommendations for treatment advised. As an ultrasonographer myself I know that Dr. Levine is a leader in his field.

The receptionist Jen is so rude, hostile and extremely ignorant in regards to manners. She was so hostile towards me when I called try to make an appointment as a new patient. I was treated in such a manner as if I was wasting her time as well has publicly and personally humiliated me by shaming me on the phone. Her actions are beyond comprehensible and a violation against patient right to be treated with dignity and respect. When I complained to management, the manager of the Endocrinology department told me that she will schedule my appointments on Jen's day off so that i did not have to deal with her hostility. The management condones bad behavior and poor treatment towards their patients. I would stay clear of this office unless you are willing to be subjected to this horrific treatment.

I was very disappointed to learn that since I "only" had Graves diseases without any thyroid tumors or cancer, I would not be seen by Dr. Levine, but by the nurse practitioner. I was okay with this, until after several months of flipping back and forth from hyper thyroid, to hypo thyroid and back again to hyper, I decided to seek a thyroid DOCTOR in Boston. I never felt that my personal quick responses to the drugs were taken into account, and I felt like she was just going by what is the average way to go, and then guessing at what to do. In the 4 months as a patient, I was only seen by her once, and most often could only speak to a nurse on the phone as a go-between.

I don't right reviews often and this one will be long but I think it's important. I've been struggling with my thyroid for years now. I finally insisted that my PCP refer me to an Endocrinologist because I was getting nowhere. I was referred to Dr Levine however he was only treating patients with nodules/cancer. I ended up going to Dartmouth and meeting/talking to two doctors there that I feel blew off my concerns and told me to "eat less/exercise more". That was the sum total of advice I got. However the one good thing that happened was that they found a nodule not diagnosed by my PCP. I went on to have an ultrasound and biopsy with an insufficient result (ie the biopsy - which was a horrible experience - did not retrieve a sufficient amount of cells). I wasn't told this I was told it was inconclusive. Because my family has a history of thyroid cancer I was really worried and asked what I should do. I was told watch it or take out your thyroid. So I scheduled surgery but wanted a second opinion. So, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Levine - ironically who I wanted to see in the first place. First contact: Alan (Allen?) from his office. I called and mentioned how worried I was and how I wanted to see someone else before going through with the surgery at Dartmouth. He was VERY helpful and kind. There were times when I was on hold for a long time but there were also times when he was on the phone with me answering all of my questions thoroughly and never rushing me off the phone. He also called to make sure I got all my pre-appointment paperwork and that I knew where to find them since the practice had moved. It is a small office and sometimes you might be on hold or have to wait - it's worth it. Lisa: Dr Levine's nurse. She was so knowledgeable and when I ended up having a biopsy that I was unprepared for she talked me through it and kept me as calm as someone like me could be. I HATE needles and have a really hard time. She was really great. Dr. Levine: I was expecting a usual 15 minute quick consult but I was there for over an hour (in a good way!) We discussed my full family history, the nodule and my concerns about my condition in general (feeling REALLY tired, not losing weight, etc). He was more knowledgeable than anyone I've spoken to before and did not just blow off my concerns. He performed an ultrasound in his office that took twice as long (in a good way) than the last one I had all the while explaining what he was seeing. He performed a biopsy as well that I was not expecting and I was really anxious about. He promised me it would not be as bad as the last one and he was not wrong. I can't believe how much better that was. I walked out of that appointment feeling more informed and less worried than I had been feeling for months. I wish I had gone there first and would recommend Dr Levine and his practice to anyone.

I absolutely love Steve Gutwillig and his care was second to none. Unfortunately I tried to reach the office today to get a prescription refill and the phones were off the hook all day. I finally reached someone at another number who was nice enough to walk the message over to the Thyroid Center's office and when I received a call back the woman was extremely rude. I will be canceling my next appointment and will be moving on from the Thyroid Center.

Never in my life have I been treated in such a horrific manner by a professional establishment. I had a 10AM appointment, I arrived at the front desk at 10:08. The woman behind the desk smugly looked at her wrist watch and told me I was late. Yes, 8 minutes I said. There was a ton of road work on broad st by the rt 3 pick ups (which was visible from the office). You wont be seen today she replied. I was dumbfounded. Because I was minutes late? I demanded to see Michelle Cambell. She came out, took me into her office, and told me her schedule doesnt allow for people to be late. She would not see me today. I explained to her what had happened, she just restated that her schedule doesn't allow for patients to be late. Everyone has a 30 min window. Well, I asked her why we couldn't just use my remaining 20 minutes. All she wanted to do was "follow up" with me and probably order labs. I'd gladly leave before her 10:30 showed up. No, she refused to see me and would rather chastise me for being 8 min late and tell me the remainder of my time (20 min) was forfeited. Well, I told her she could spend the next 20 minutes getting my medical file for me because this was ridiculous. The waiting room was empty, there was not a patient in site, and honestly, the time I was here before that I waited 25 min after my scheduled time to see Dr. Lavigne for an Ultra Sound. So I guess if they are behind its OK, but you better dare not be. I called Elliot Hospital and got a next day appointment at their Endo Unit. Do yourself a favor, dont waste you time, or money at the Thyroid Center. These doctors and nurses work for YOU. Nobody deserves to be treated this way.
