Went to Henderson office twice because vision in 1 eye (where I had a very successful cornea transplant 39 years ago) had gotten cloudy. After repeated dilation of both eyes and testing, some eye drops were prescribed. Then I felt like I was being coerced into a 3rd appointment to schedule cataract surgery which I did not feel I needed based on feedback from my trusted Optometrist. BOTTOM LINE: I found another doctor who prescribed MUCH better eye drops which improved my vision to the best it's been in years and he says I do not need cataract surgery.

After careful research I chose Wellish to do my LASIK. Are there cheaper places in vegas? Yes. More experienced, trusted & respected in his field? NO! I wanted to choose the very best for my eyes. Definitely had to go with the top option Custom Vue LASIK- I got it done 4 days ago- it really is a 24 hr recovery! From the first consultation I had with Rebecca to the pre-op exams I had with Bernie & McCandless, the amazingly personable front desk Tehani - every single member of the Wellish team that I encountered were such a comfort to talk to, I truly was made to feel like I was a valued patient every step of the way & most importantly: never pressured! Dr Kent Wellish is of course the master he is definitely worthy of trusting your vision, just wait til you meet him, you'll understand what I mean. Amazing staff at the Wellish Vision Institute! I did a good deal of research before I chose them. They answered any questions I had, and very promptly. The surgery itself was over and finished very quickly, and the discomfort was minimal. No real pain to speak of. It's been about a week, and my vision is better than ever before. Do yourself a favor, and get rid of those contacts and glasses. Money well-spent.

I came to Wellish Vision Institute with some pretty bad eyesight, it's been exactly a week since I received the corrective eye surgery. I'm seeing 20/20 no glasses or contacts required! More importantly though, the whole experience felt so natural and exciting. Going from being almost legally blind to having perfect vision is a truly life-changing thing. Like most people the thought of laser eye surgery might seem intimidating, it certainly was for me, I went in as a completely blank canvas. I didn't know what to expect, but everyone there seemed so supportive and friendly, I had no trouble feeling comfortable. Everything was explained in major detail - from two weeks prior to your pre-op appointment to more than a month after your post-op surgery - with plenty of room for questions from me. I felt so prepared that when the actual day came, I wasn't nervous at all. It honestly felt like a day at the spa! Quick and absolutely painless. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to have my vision corrected here, and I highly recommend others to do the same! Thanks so much you guys!!

I can't say enough great things about this practice, Dr. Wellish, Dr. McCandless, and the staff. While I'm originally from Las Vegas, I now live across the country and they were more than accommodating when it came to scheduling my appointments and even finding a doctor for me locally for all my follow ups. I flew back for LASIK because I've heard nothing but great things from people I know who have had their surgery done here, and now I can see why. My LASIK procedure went very well, I felt that I was well informed going in to the surgery and the post-op care was just as attentive. I rarely write reviews for anything, but the level of care here warranted the time to recommend them and, furthermore, I'm free from glasses and contacts for the first time in 23 years. I really couldn't be happier.

There's a reason why Dr Wellish and his staff is rated so high. He is personable and very thorough at what he does. His staff and himself genuinely care for their patients. The reception staff, to the consultation reps, to the pre opt guys, and the doctors themselves, they are superb at what they do. I told Dr Wellish I was moving away, and he gave me a list of places to eat at the new city! Which doctor has time for that? He made time. My eyes are now 20/20, overall the entire experience was incredible. No issues with my sight, only crystal clear vision.

It's been two weeks since I had my Lasik procedure done by Dr. Wellish. I'm beyond thankful with him and his entire staff for taking care of me. The moment I walked in I was greeted by his friendly receptionist Bianca. I only had to fill out a few forms and from there we were ready to go downstairs were they do the procedures. When you walk into the downstairs office; you get a spa like feeling. Cause they have soothing music playing, dimmed lights and they give you medication to relax. A few minutes after, you have a consult with Dr. Wellish were he goes over the procedure and answers any questions you might have. From there we proceeded to have my Lasik done and it was quick and easy. Before I knew it he was done. I was very relaxed and from there I went home and slept through the night. The next day I woke up and my vision was perfectly clear. I was seeing 20/20. Best decision I made by far! Thank you Dr. Wellish and his entire team! You guys are amazing and the best doctors in Las Vegas!

I have not once seen the same doctor. When I ask to see the same doctor I'm told they moved out of state.

The Wellish Vision Institute has far exceeded my expectations. My first experience with them was with my LASIK Consult; several optometrists in Las Vegas referred me to Dr. Wellish. It has taken me six years to finally get LASIK because I wanted to make sure that I found a surgeon that would not take any risks with my vision. I also researched the technology to make sure it is safe. The Wellish Vision Institute has the latest technology to give me the safest surgery possible and the clearest vision I could have. During my pre-operation procedure that staff was very friendly and professional. They were very approachable and were more than glad to answer all my questions. They took their time to explaining the procedure and made me feel comfortable. On the day of my surgery, I was very nervous but I knew I was in good hands because Dr. Wellish performed the surgery. The surgery was fast, painless and best of all–I immediately saw an improvement in my vision. The day after surgery the doctor checked my vision and I was already at 20/15! I see even better than I ever did with glasses or contact lenses! The vision gets better as my eyes heal and I was back to work right away and enjoying the benefits of having great vision. The WVI works like a well-oiled machine. From the initial consultation to the final postop visit, everything runs very smoothly. All of the staff are courteous and professional. I never had to wait long for my appointments. My LASIK surgery was last week. It went well and my vision was PERFECT the following day, without any pain! The preop and postop protocol is pretty involved (LOTS of drops, vitamins, etc), but worth it to keep your eyes in pristine condition for surgery and minimize complications. Dr. Wellish is at the top of his field, and it shows. I will recommend the WVI to anyone considering vision correction surgery. Thank you for a pleasant experience!

I just had LASIK 4 days ago by Dr. Wellish and his team. The entire experience couldn't have gone any better. Everyone on the team was super friendly and knowledgable in their department. I had many opportunities to ask any questions or bring up any concerns I had. They made me feel well taken care of before, during and after the procedure. I never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be called in from the waiting area. My vision was already 20/20 the night I had my surgery without any pain or complications. After surgery I ate a quick lunch while keeping my eyes closed most of the time (they were a little sensative to light and teared when I opened them). Afterwards, I went home and slept for 4 hours and woke up feeling very normal except that I could finally see with my new vision! I was so excited that I walked around outside to look at everything. I am still taking my drops as directed and finished two of my follow up appointments with perfect vision and great healing. I would reccommend Dr. Wellish and his team to anyone looking to have LASIK.

In November 2009, I underwent laser vision correction. Dr. Wellish was amazing. I tested 20/15 a couple days after the procedure and 20/13 a couple weeks later. I had a appointment ,I was on time I ended up canceling . After inquiring about the 45 min wait the front desk personnel rudely informed me the md knew I was waiting and never offered an estimate time I was to be seen. I must say I never had this problem at the north las Vegas Office . Sooooo many people are out of work why in the name of god is WELLISH VISION INSTITUTE SOUTH employing such incompetent staff The patient’s time is just as valuable as the staff and MD’S .perhaps it should be first come first served . Why give appointments.

I had been referred to the Wellish Vision Institute by my optometrist initially. Before I set up my consultation my dentist also referred me here. Then I began hearing the radio ad's. When I went in for my consultation I was pumped up. I had been wearing glasses for 24 years and was ready to be done with it all. Tehani was sweet and welcoming and my first impression of the office as a whole. I observed her being incredibly warm and kind with the patients in addition to myself. Rebecca was kind and informative. She shared with me her own experiences and helped me understand the process before and after. Dr. McCandless and Dr. Wellish were great. They kept me informed of the things to come and checked my eyes thoroughly. They had great 'bedside manners' for doctors. They answered my questions and were very patient with me and in no hurry. (I HATE it when I see a doctor and they are impatient and ready to leave the room) At no point did I feel like just another paycheck. I drove myself back the day after with 20/20 vision from 20/400 vision. It has been amazing! The best money I have ever spent. This office is definitely a well oiled machine. From the lobby to the after care I have had amazing service. Such kindness. I don't believe their knowledge/experience is even comparable to others. If you want to finally be rid of glasses/contacts go to Dr. Wellish and his staff! I highly recommend them to take care of your eyes.

Only 5 stars, just because I can't give them 7! I went to Yelp initially looking for lasik surgeons, made a list for myself to go interview them. Made an appt with Wellish fist, met with a superstar by the name of Rebecca, who walked me through the procedure, explained the technology, (which by the way is the most advanced in town) and the prices. I as pretty sold at the moment, but told her as a personal rule, I don't make impulse decisions and would have to go meet with at least one other professional to be able to make a sound comparison. Not going to name any names, but I met with a couple other professionals in town, they didn't even come close to the quality of service, and scale that the wellish vision institute has. Being a business owner I can appreciate how someone organizes and runs his operation, and my god is this a well oiled machine! Never waited more than 15 minutes, not once was greeted by someone that didn't have a smile on their face. It was several days after the procedure that I remembered that I was anxious on surgery day. Procedure lasted not longer than 10 minutes in my opinion, (haven't asked) but I remember asking Dr Wellish, that's it, are you really done? Right now I have 20/15 vision, which is better than normal! I don't know what else can I say, one of the best investments I have ever made. Oh wait there's more. Went to my regular optometrist for a checkup and he says, you went to the best surgeon in town, good job. In hindsight I probably should have asked him for a referral and not went to Yelp, but I guess I probably would have ended up here anyways. So Thank you, E Flamingo Wellish team! My sister and her husband both got LASIK surgery from Wellish Vision Institute, and they both highly recommended Wellish to me. However, I researched and waited for 10 years before going to Wellish myself and getting LASIK a week and a half ago. I was very nervous and had many questions and concerns, all of which the staff addressed during my initial screening and preoperative appointments. Every staff member I encountered at Wellish was kind, courteous, helpful, patient, and reassuring. The surgery was a bit scary and the hours immediately after surgery were a tad uncomfortable, but sleeping while wearing protective goggles for a week was the biggest gripe by far I have about the entire experience, and that really was not even a big deal. I had 20/400 vision with an astigmatism Thursday morning and Friday morning I drove myself to a follow up appointment and tested at 20/20. So far, my vision has continued to improve just a bit every day. I do not believe I could have had a more positive experience and cannot recommend Dr. Wellish and his staff enough if you are considering LASIK yourself. Goodbye contact lenses and glasses, I shall not miss you!

My wife and a couple of my friends had their LASIK done at Wellish and they all had great experiences and all still had great vision years later, so it was a no-brainer choosing Wellish. It's been 6 days since my procedure and my vision is great - slightly better than 20/20 as of yesterday. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the doctors take the time to make sure you understand everything and have what you need.

Long Story short They seem high quality nice office, friendly, Dr. Wellish doesn't meet with you mutch and day of surgery felt like a car wash surgery. Not enough communication surgery day. Results are perfect no complaints there. Visit one The office is easy to find and appears very clean and professional, The front desk staff is friendly and they provide complimentary Starbucks hot coffee with flavor creamers. The lazik consultant was very friendly and her name was Rebecca. They have you do a simple screening for lazik if you pass you make a second appointment which is more in depth but must pay a $150 deposit. One problem is flexibility, they have one day for lazik surgeries, Thursdays. Rebecca was very friendly and informative. She explained the prices for me and I was comfortable with the price. I do have one complaint is that their procedure seemed over glorified like a commercial that may mislead patients that have not done research prior to considering lazik They offer lazik surgery using a laser to create flap and use wave front to get a more detailed information on your vision distortion that may help you see better and less chances of having complications such as night time vision problems. Basically from what research I did its better to do bladeless lazik with wave front done. I just didn't like how it's over glorified visit two Aperantly they have many lazik patients that my second appointment was until two weeks so a few days later I called and told Rebekah I needed a closer date and she scheduled me for an earlier preop date on a day they usually don't do pre op test. Day of pre op The guy that did the preop was professional and did many exams on me. the equipment used was high quality. One complaint I have with him is that he did not explain what each of these test were doing. Dr. Wellish did not meet with me personally so personally I feel that is not professional due to price of this procedure and its my vision which is priceless. Another thing is they are very pushy on taking the vitamin pills that are supposedly to help dry eye. I am no expert but I guess they can claim its covering all bases and maybe I should have done some more rearch and ask a second opinion on that $30 bottle. Day of surgery They don't tell you right away what time your lazor surgery is you have to wait 2 days before the say of surgery for them to tell you a time to be there and are told you will have to be there 2-3 hours which I thought was strange. The surgery suit looks good. They take you back to a warmed room which is relaxing but they have a chair where is not to comfortable due to seat cushion sliding and is a little uncomfortable because you have to sit there with the other people that are getting the surgery. You finally meet Dr. wellish and speaks very quickly and claims he knows you alot because he studied your chart, which I am a little skeptical. They numb your eyes with drops and have you wait after this is when I got really confused with what was happening, yes I was given a sedative but was I was still focused and wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. I had the feeling I was at a car wash and I was just another car laid down on the bed and Dr. wellish pretty much just told me where to have my head not to move and then sent back to room. then they worked on some other people and called me back did the lazik and I was done. I would have liked more communication such was okay don't move now creating the flap, and I was worried I wasn't looking at the light correctly due to the time it blacks out. I choose to have the wave front done and no one told me okay we are getting the wave front scan done now and will be using it so I hope they did it but I wouldn't know until I ask on my follow up. Dr. Wellish does seemed to know what he's doing just needs to communicate more. On the paper it said no photography so I was disappointed I would not be able to record the surgery
