I was impressed with him when he visited me in the hospital, but not so impressed with the office visit. He seemed like he was in a hurry and quickly answered my questions without really explaining them. He referred to the surgeon a lot. Even though you're not doing my surgery to remove the cancer you should have the answers to keep me calm. I've never had cancer before and your resident was nicer than you!!! I'm looking for another oncologist. This one has no compassion for 1st time cancer patients.

Horrible doctor. My mom was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She had many issues from the chemotherapy. She was sent to a rehab facility, bed sores ensued. She was sent to the hospital, and all Dr. Vicuna could think of was to get her up and walking and out of the hospital into another rehab. Good God, she couldn't walk and her bed sores were very bad. She was in no shape to walk around, and the day before she passed away he was going to send her to another hospital for rehab. He also blamed my father for giving her too much of a certain medicine, which he would not have if Dr. Vicuna would have consulted with the other doctor who was attending to my Mom.

Dr Vicuna has been treating my father for bladder and esophageal cancer the last 2 years. He has done an excellent job managing his care. He used chemotherapy and radiation to put my dads esophageal cancer in remission. He used immunotherapy to treat metastatic bladder cancer and extend my dad's quality of life. I live out of state and Dr Vicuna always returns my calls and answers my questions. Since my dad is 89 and doesn't always fully hear or understand things, Dr. Vicuna and I have talked extensively about my father's treatment plan and prognosis. Dr Vicuna is very knowledgeable and employs leading edge protocols. His bedside manner is not as warm and caring as other physicians I have worked with, but he truly cares about his patients and gets results. I highly recommend Dr. Vicuna. At times, the office staff has not returned my phone calls in a timely manner and that has been frustrating.

Dr. Brian Vicuna is my husband's oncology doctor for over 4 years.He doesn't talk much and can sometimes be misunderstood as to be not so concerned, but as you learn to know him more he is a knowledgeable caring doctor. He tries always to find the different options and alternatives that's best for the patients cure and comfort .Just ask him questions about your concerns and he will discuss it with you. We are. happy to have him as my husband's doctor and will be Happy to recommend him to others .
