My friend had a surgery done by Dr. Garvin and he told her that she had to lose 20 pounds (keep in mind she is a healthy, fit 16 year old girl) in order for him to agree to do the surgery. Obviously I'm not a doctor but this seems quite unreasonable and honestly uncalled for. I gave Dr. Garvin one star because not only did he jeopardize my friends health by forcing her to lose an unreasonable amount of weight in a short time period, but also detrimentally damaged her mental health.

Had total hip replacement in Sept 2018 Everything went well...Back up with no more hip pain. I surely need to lose weight but he did my surgery with no problems. I'm questioning the one star post from previous person

Dr. Garvin has done three of my hip surgeries and is about to do the fourth. He has never been anything but polite, kind, and caring personally about my health and well-being. I would not recommend anyone else over him.
