I got my first shot (birth control) 3 months ago, the 6th and I was supposed to get another one may the 6th. Everytime I try to call, nobody answers and now I really need an appointment asap and still don't have it. I've also been trying to get it for a week now

Stephanie Reinheimer

All right, it took a while for me to write this up because honestly, the experience was just so, so bad. I needed to have my birth control implant replaced in March as well as have a well-woman exam. Since my insurance had changed and I'd always had good experience with WashU/Barnes-Jewish medicine, I was happy to come here. I was seen by the NP. Apparently, no one told anyone that I was coming in for both an implant replacement and an exam, but that got cleared up pretty quickly. The issue was that that woman mangled my arm. My old OBGYN got an old one out and a new one in in about 15 minutes flat, if that. This one spent an eternity PICKING and PICKING at my old implant, which I could hear the entire time. To say it was awkward would be putting it lightly - just hearing her scrape and scrape against the implant and my flesh with a pair of apparently dull tweezers was enough to make me nauseated to the point of needing to have her stop so I could calm down. It was also not painful, due to the anesthetic, but was extremely uncomfortable, with a huge amount of pressure and feeling every tug. She finally got the old one out, the new one in and proceeded to wrap my arm so tightly - whilst telling me not to remove the wrapping for a day - that by the time I finally took the wrapping off, my entire lower left arm was bright red and swollen from being "tied off", basically. I had a red stripe around my elbow for about a week afterward where the bandage lay. This was done in early March, it is now late May and I still have marks and bruises on my arm.

4 weeks of bedrest would not have been bearable without the amazing staff at Barnes. The doctors were patient with all of my daily questions and I truly felt like I was in the best hands.

I first started coming to these doctors as a teenager, and have been coming back to them ever since. It's been 15 years now and I couldn't be happier. I see the SAME doctor every time I come, so I don't know how some people get switched around so much. I ask for the her, and they put me on her schedule. I have been to both offices, or I guess ALL of them, now, and they are all comfortable and the office staff has never been anything but friendly and helpful! I will admit, I prefer their South County Location as it is closer to me. Wonderful doctors, I would recommend them to anyone!

I've been going to the practice for the past 5 years. It's very organized and runs on time 99% which is impressive. I really like the set up which offers lots of privacy. The nurses are very responsive when you call or send messages through the patient portal. The physicians are excellent and their training is top-notch! There are many options depending your needs. If birth control is your main need, they have a contraception center with fellowship trained physicians on family planning. Is really great. Recommend 100%

I'm very impressed by the professionalism, competency, and outstanding bedside manner of all the OB/GYN attending physicians I have seen at WashU. Also, all the nurses I interacted with throughout the pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum process were nothing short of fantastic; they were all very thorough, detail-oriented, and caring. A special shoutout to Dr. Chrisman-Robbins, who made my delivery as smooth as possible with clear instructions, continual encouragement, outstanding communication, and positive energy all the time, even into the late hours of the night. Her colleagues Dr. Dickison, Dr. Sonn, and Dr. Strand are also superb, knowledgeable, caring, professional, and efficient. I don't know how other past reviewers could give anything less than 5 stars to this very diligent group of OB/GYNs. WashU OB/GYN is top-notch, and I would definitely refer any of my friends and family here. Thank you WashU OB/GYN for all that you do; your day-to-day efforts are much, much appreciated!

What an awful experience I have had! I went in for a yearly check up several months ago and am still fighting with the office manager for a refund. They didn't get a good enough sample the first visit, so they charged me again for a second visit (after assuring me via email that I wouldn't be charged). When I asked for a refund, I was ignored and am still fighting tooth and nail to get a response from the office manager Kim P. I am appalled by the services and responses (or lack thereof) I have received and although Dr. Robbins isn't to blame for this situation, I will not be returning to this gynecology department.

I cannot speak highly enough of the skilled providers in this group. Because of their affiliation with Washington University, the doctors are able to stay on top of the latest developments in women's health and medicine. They do a tremendous job of caring for their patients, but also place a strong emphasis on caring ABOUT their patients. I've been seeing physicians at Wash U. OB GYN Associates for seven years - through single life, marriage, and the birth of two babies - and have always felt that the providers here serve as patient advocates and partners in women's health. They're good listeners, they're great doctors and they're all-around excellent people.

AWFUL!!! Went here a couple of weeks ago for an issue I have been here investigating for the past year and a half. I had a scan done at Barnes, which showed a grapefruit sized cyst on my left ovary and was referred to this place. They had no idea what they were doing. Completely ignored the scan and told me I needed pelvic floor therapy to learn how to loosen my muscles because that was what was causing me pain, and to get another scan in two months. Oh! And she told my that I might need a therapist because I have anxiety and I could be making up my pain. Went to get a second opinion at Allied Associates OBGYN (great place btw) and the doctor told me that it was an endometrioma that needed to be surgically removed. So I got a diagnosis and will get this thing out of me, before I could even be scheduled for a second scan at Barnes. Did not feel listened to at all.

They will deny your care, even at 37 weeks pregnant if you are just $100 behind. The techs do not know how to take correct manual blood pressures, Doctors mis diagnosed me. It has been an absaloutle horrible experience. My OB of 13 years retired and I made the mistake of coming here and now, no new doctor will accept me because im sonfar along. Horrible experience all the way around.

I am a patient of this practice. I am very happy with my care. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. This practice really cares about women and our health needs. I have referred other women here since becoming a patient here a year ago.

I wish I could rate specific technicians, because Kristina at the Outpatient Center (ultrasound wing) was awesome! I have been 2-3 times this pregnancy and she was the best one by far! (Since this is technically a review of the entire department, I will say that wait times are usually at least 15 minutes, which is not fun.)

Gretchen Jenson

Great practice! My doc is phenomenal and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Still Here

Love the staff and the doctors. Wouldn't trust my health to any other!!

Avoid. First, they couldn't enter my name correctly into their computer system. Second Dr. Eric Strand is creepy and made me feel uncomfortable through the entirety of the very private exam. He also didn't bother to read any of the patient history forms that I filled out before ordering unnecessary gynecological tests. This place also works "as a team", so you don't have a fixed doctor and cannot opt out of seeing a doctor that you don't feel comfortable with. I switched after my first visit.

Emily Feiden

Terrible!! I have been going here since I was 6 weeks pregnant and am now 28 weeks. I see the OB team so I see a new doctor or nurse practitioner each time. The wait time is always ridiculously long(like 30-40 minutes every time) just for you to be in the room for less than 5 minutes. All they do is check the heartbeat and ask if you have any questions then leave. Seems they are more interested in getting things done quickly rather than making sure the patient is ok.
