I go to KC Skin & Cancer Center yearly for all over mole checks (Mary Zahau). Several years ago they quickly/easily removed a lump near my nose and more recently they removed a strange mole growth in center of my back that luckily was benign. Same day, quick, thorough service. It's great to get those things taken care of - peace of mind. I recommend their Barry Road office highly.

I think Dr. Cohen is great! He has done several procedures on me, all were very successful. However, the receptionist is rude and not cooperative. Not having a chance to say anything, she puts me on hold (never less than 7-10 minutes). If I refuse to go on hold, her attitude is very negative. I've tried multiple times to get appointments, but will now go elsewhere because of her.

I recently visited the KC Skin & Cancer Center for a facial. I thought the two ladies working at the reception area were nice and helpful. I had a very pleasant, relaxing experience and Ashley did a wonderful job. She recommended an antioxidant cream for my face that I purchased as well and I absolutely love it. I definitely plan on returning back for additional treatments!

Kansas City Skin and Cancer has provided us an AMAZING experience!! My daughter had a very stressful first year of college. She tried out and made the college dance team, decided to rush with no legacy and determined to keep her 4.0 in college, Although she was very fortunate to make the dance team, involved in her sorority and continued to maintain a 4.0 in college, she was under a tremendous amount of stress juggling her crazy schedule. . While traveling with the basketball team to perform as a Razorback pom squad member her immune system was weak with the amount sleep and stress she was experiencing at that time. The end result ~ double ear infection, strep throat and a viral infection on top of that. Needless to say, she ended its with psoriasis. As most of you know that's not common unless you're retired. You can't even get an immunization shot until you're 60 yrs of age. . My daughter thought it was the end of her world. Her scalp looked like a huge scab~ burned, bled and flaked to embarrassment. Her self confidence was low. We knew exactly who could help her when she got back home, Kansas City Skin and Cancer center. Dr. Cohen will forever be my hero. He was able to explain to my daughter is not the end of the world. It's treatable and he would help her with a treatment plan. Today, my daughter is confident. She barely has the outbreak she had before and it's totally under control. Thank you Dr. Cohen, because you cared enough to encourage her and provided a treatment plan she now wants to change her major to help others just like you helped her. She's planning on specializing in dermatology. Thank for not only helping my daughter, but finding her passion in life. Helping others. Forever grateful!

Tried calling before 4 pm, as they close at 4:30. Got a recorded message that they are closed, and to call back during normal business hours. I did call during their "normal" business hours. Apparently they are too busy for customers, so they close early....

I had two great visits to KC Skin and Cancer Center in their Shawnee Mission location. I would highly recommend Dr. Xie! She explained everything with detail and during the procedure, she told me what she was doing as she did it and what to expect. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend her! She answered all of my questions with care and concern. Plus, she was on time for both appointments. The only complaint I have is with the front desk staff. They aren't friendly when patients walk in, while answering the phone, or during check-out. When I called to make my appointment, the staff member that I was talking to seemed extremely annoyed that I was booking a new appointment. I asked her if it was a bad time and that changed her attitude around completely. I know people have off days, but front desk should be welcoming and happy to book new patients. First impressions are important- luckily that didn't stop me from meeting Dr. Xie.

I was referred to KC Skin & Cancer center by my personal physician to examine a skin issue. After I arrived I completed some paperwork for processing which they had previously advised me of. I was seen pretty quickly by their nurse practitioner Mary. She was very knowledgeable & professional. She examined the nodules & explained what her recommendations would be & then asked how I wanted to proceed. I appreciated her honesty & asked a few questions. I then made my decision on the procedures & she stated she could handle everything in office at that time! What a relief & I was surprised at the quickness of handling everything. The procedures were completed & I walked out of their offices very happy & in minor discomfort. An aspirin took care of the headache! If I ever need anything else skin related I will return to the Kansas City Skin & Cancer center. I highly recommend their services!

My mother has been a patient in this practice for several years. She called the office ( Barry Road) on Monday and tried to make an appointment. My mother is 83 and must arrange for transportation to the office. The lady who was trying to schedule the appointment for her chastised her for not having been in since 2013. My mother said this is 2014 so that has just been one year or less. There were no appointments available said the lady. How sad it is that the point of contact for the phone calls is so insensitive and critical of their patients. I can only assume that the practice is so successful that they don't need to keep patients.

Dr. Greene, periodically, screens me for skin cancer. She removes any lesions to avoid problems, and performs biopsies when required. She has, successfully, removed squamous skin cancers through Mohs Micrographic Surgery leaving no noticeable scars. Her team is friendly & professional too. I'm fortunate to be Dr. Greene's patient. She treats me for skin cancer, and bothersome rosacea too. You won't regret visiting KC Skin & Cancer Center.

I’m not going to lie when Dr. Green walked in the room to do my Mohs surgery (skin cancer on my face!) I was a little nervous since she looked so young. Now that it’s all over I am completely impressed. I took photos of my wound before and after stitches and it looks absolutely perfect. She obviously has meticulous hand eye coordination – I’m blown away to be honest. Her nursing staff was also extremely friendly. I was a bit skeptical by the whole procedure before I went in for my appointment but now that it is all over I am very glad that I did it and even more glad that I was lucky to have such a skilled surgeon with such friendly nurses. Update - I just got my stitches out a week later and it looks great. I forgot to mention Charity! She's the NP who found my skin cancer to begin with! She said I had a "shiny spot". Even after she circled it and gave me a mirror I never saw anything. But she biopsied it and she was RIGHT - it came back positive. So thankful she spotted that "shiny spot" on my skin check and that it was caught early.

I asked a question and they handed me a brochure and told me to call the estitician, didn't explain why my questions were a better fit for someone else to answer. ** Should note that the provider did call me after poor review and did a good job trying to make it right, make me feel better about the visit. ** The office is just too busy for what I was looking for.

I agree with a prior poster that the workers in the reception area can be incredibly rude and unprofessional. My family and I have gone there for years and have had so many negative interactions with their front desk (the head receptionist in particular) that I've lost count. I've overheard them call another worker a b***h, and the head receptionist actually made a racist comment to me about another person (?!). After yet another rude interaction today with their head receptionist, I am officially done. Due to work & school, we usually make our appointments towards the end of the day. They are consistently 45-60+ minutes behind schedule every single time we go there. We were once going to be 10 minutes late for an appointment, which we notified them of a day in advance. They told us to go ahead and come in, but when we arrived, the receptionist was rude about it and made us wait another hour before they would see us because they "gave up" my daughter's appointment. I really like Emily Redmond and her nurses, but my family and I will not be returning there until they do something about their receptionist(s).

I am so pleased with the results of my mole removal. I had one right above my upper lip that I tried to removed myself with Apple Cider Vinegar, big mistake! I ended up with scar tissue on top of it. It’s literally all I could see on my face. The Doctor here expertly cut the mole and scar tissue without damaging the natural curve above my lip and without a hole for a scar. I still have a small amount of healing but the results are great! Thank you!

I had a very positive experience. I had an early morning appointment. I actually beat the receptionist, who was nice and apologetic even though I was early. They were timely and quick. My questions and inquiries were answered to my satisfactory. I have another appointment today, in the afternoon. I believe I will get the same great service as I got when I went early in the morning... I wrote this review before they ruined my face. Six years later I still have the scars of the wrong medication. Thank you google for sending me this so I can sue them. Don’t go here, it will ruin your life.

Showed up on time but sat in waiting area for an extra hour before being seen. When seen, I met with an Asian nurse practitioner who looked me over and burned off a mole with what appeared to be compressed nitrogen (entire meeting was 3 minutes). Got the bill and they attempted to charge $357 for the 3 minutes but my insurance took it to $193 which is still WAY too much for 3 minutes of time with a nurse. Called business office to discuss and woman argued with me that she can't change the health care system. Unwilling to negotiate a better rate. I cancelled my next appointment.
