One of the most important things for a business is the initial meeting of the potential customer. I was calling to see if they had an opening for a dermatologist and talked with the receptionist. She was very quick, not very friendly, and did not seem to care at all. I will not go here just because of the initial reaction.

This is a posh office and this is simply all it is! Both dermatologists care more about how many patients they can see then give one on one time. You will be seen only for what you called up wanting to be seen because lord forbid that while there, you ask about other issues, you have to make another appointment to be seen at a different time. I gave this place about 3-4 chances, hoping for the best and since then, I have not been back! Such a money making office with no patient care! I would NOT recommend this place, it was a waste of my money and travel time. It does not even deserve a star rating.

The first time I went to this Dermatologist I was happy with my visit. I felt they understood what I needed and treated me like I was important. I only went in to discuss some mild acne problems the first visit. My second visit however was not as enjoyable. I felt rushed through, like they didn't have time to help me, and this time I was there for a rash on my legs that had been concerned about. The doctor didn't take the time to talk with me about it, and didn't do any kind of test to confirm what it was, she merely looked at it and then proceeded to tell me what she "thought" it was, and then said she would print out some information so I could look it up and learn about it on my own. She prescribed me some corticosteroid cream and that was it. I talked to the doctor for maybe 5 minutes total, and had to call back to ask questions that I had that she didn't take the time to answer. Overall, I was very upset with my second visit and probably not be returning to this clinic.

I took my 12 year old son to see Dr. Cayce. We didn't have to wait at all and were called back right away. Dr. Cayce greeted us immediately in the room. She talked directly to my son in words that he could understand. She answered all of my questions as well. She even helped us find an affordable option for a very expensive prescription! I've seen lots of dermatologists in my life for lots of different issues. Dr. Cayce is the best around!!

I was bitten by a Brown Recluse and my Dr. sent me to Dr. Despain who he said "wrote the book" on BRs. Dr. Despain diagnosed it as an atypical bite that was spreading the venum throughout my skin and would likely leave no divot. Sure enough, I shed two layers of skin, including calcalles and the bite left no divot. He gave me his cell number in case the conditions changed, they did, and he prescribed medication while vacationing. I am convinced Dr. Despain is highly competent and totally dedicated to his patients..

Went in with my gf for some Botox , it was her first time and wow ! They took the time to answer all her questions and made her feel right at home ! I also found my new go to place ! Very recommended

If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter Alexis went in for a laser tattoo removal. She called prior to going in. They told her based on the size it would be $100. They had her sign a consent before the session. They did not trace the outline of the tattoo. They only hit a few spots. When she went to check out. It was $196! She argued. They showed her where, on the consent she had signed, it said in small print at the bottom that it was $196. Then she felt that she could not get out of the charges. So she asked to have them at least do the entire outline of the tattoo. Which is about 3 inches by 3 inches. They refused to do this also. This was an obvious scam. Which I was surprised by, at a doctors office. She has had maybe 10 removal sessions before going to this clinic. She very well knows what to expect and how much it should cost. As she said, she worked very hard in high school for that extra $100. She is 18 and a college freshman. I dont know if they do this to the college students or to everyone but beware!!

I am in the middle of two ongoing services, being laser hair removal and microneedling. I am very pleased with my continued results already. I think the staff is lovely, friendly, and easy to work with. The person I see specifically for my own treatments was very patient to answer all of my questions, and I feel confident that they are trained and knowledgeable. I would recommend and I plan on continuing with more services in the future.

Dr. Despain performed a minor surgical procedure to remove a small lump from my arm. This was stressful for me, and I felt that Dr. Despain did an excellent job putting me at ease, answering my questions, and completing the task in a minimal amount of time. Pretty disappointed in general. It's clear that they run very many patients through this office. After seeing Dr. Cayce, I needed a return call for a atopic dermatitis issue I was having before I left on a trip. However, after 10 days and two phone calls, Cr. Cayce couldn't seem to find time to get back to me. Her staff mentioned on the first call that she was very busy and it may be difficult to get back early in the week. Not only did she not get back to me early in the week, she couldn't make early the following week either. I'll find a new dermatologist.

I had a great experience during my last appointment. I was being treated for severe acne by Dr. Despain. I felt like he understood the physical and emotional difficulties that accompany severe acne. The only reason why I couldn't give five stars is because it can be very difficult to get a prompt appointment when you need it.

I had heard a lot of good things about Despain and Cayce and waited MONTHS to get in. Upon finally getting an appointment, I was so dissapointed. Cayce spent about 5 minutes with me and perscribed me about the exact same thing another dermatologist had put me on even after explainging to her it didn't work and gave me bad side effects. I decided to just absolutely disregard everything she said, and instead I was able to heal myself by eating healthier, exercising more, and doing my own research of what products I should be using. (Funny that NO doctor I have been to has recommended that!!) As I send in my thirty dollar co-pay check I just wish I had never gone in the first place! What a waste and a dissapointment.

I love this place. I see them for skin and hair stuff, and have been to their beautiful office a total of 3 times over the last 2 years. I have left a satisfied consumer every single time. Dr. Despain is awesome (kind of a funny dude), the nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable discussing my issues. Overall, I felt the care I received was top notch. I will say that Dr. Despain does book up pretty quickly, but most good doctors do- be sure to call ahead of time. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you will not want to go anywhere else for your dermatology needs. Also, the ladies at the front desk are exceptional.

I called to make a skin cancer screening appointment since I have a family history of skin cancer, but apparently skin cancer screenings aren't a money maker for them. I was told they are unable to do full screenings for new patients because "they don't have time" but I can make an appointment to get a couple moles checked if I'd like to... I would think skin cancer screenings would be a priority to a dermatologist! It would be one thing if you weren't accepting new patients, but to simply refuse to do a full body cancer screening?

On May 24, 2017 I was scheduled for an appointment at 7:50 in the morning. I had to bring a 1, 5 and 7 year old with me to my appointment and on top of that I live an 1 1/2 hours away. Needless to say it was a hectic morning. In between Moberly and Columbia I realized I was going to be 5-10 minutes late and made a courtesy call to inform the office of my situation. I was informed by the receptionist Kaylee that was unacceptable and the office has a very "frigid" schedule. I was told if i am 1 minute late the appointment is to be rescheduled. I explained to her my present situation of trying to get there, being on the road for over an hour and getting my children out of bed before daylight the response I got was of course Very Frigid. I am not one to write bad reviews and I understand everybody has a schedule to keep. As a teacher and a mother of three I definitely appreciate an on time schedule but I also understand that life happens. If this is what health care has come to, cramming so many patients into a day that a mother who is a little behind cannot be accepted I am ashamed of the healthcare industry. I am the wife of a husband who provides emergency care to patients and as such I understand the difference between life-saving care and money-making care, i feel like my treatment was based on this and not patient care and accomodation. I would appreciate any response and I apologize for my tardines.

I had a spot on my head that just would not heal. It was not getting better and I went to Dr.DeSpain because I had heard great things about his office. He took a sample and the biopsy showed that it was basal cell. I was anxious and nervous about having a hole cut in my scalp right in the middle of my part, but Dr. DeSpain was very calm and comforting and made every effort to make me feel like it was going to be ok. Dr. DeSpain and his office staff from the front desk, the manager, the assistant, and check out, were all very professional and welcoming. I would, and have, recommend their office and staff to anyone with any skin problems or concerns.

In recent months Hannah has been my esthetician. We have improved the appearance and texture of the landscape of my skin significantly. Including time spent in the sun. Not advisable on any level but I am admittedly one who enjoys the warm sunshine. It is always a positive experience and a pleasure to be in her care. Dr Cayce did a cosmetic procedure which was botched and when asked to fix it she wanted me to pay for the full procedure again. She was inconsiderate and very cold - irrespective of how long she's known her patients she cares more about making money for every sec she spends with her patients than to actually care about patient satisfaction and their well being. I was fooled by all the fake smiles initially until there is a problem and you get to see a whole different side.

I recently had some dark lesions removed with little response. The clinic called me in followup and asked about my results. When I told them I had minimal results they offered to recalibrate the machine and repeat the procedure at no expense! They are great people and so easy to work with.

He is very thorough with the different procedures, as I always have a ton of questions. I really appreciate his patience with all my questions. The staff is Outstanding, too! I have used DeSpain Cayce for several years. All staff members are professional; check-in is prompt; I am seen promptly at the scheduled appointments time. The medical assistants are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Dr DeSpain has been very thorough in addressing skin concerns; each excision has been properly treated and results have been reported promptly. No scarring has occurred from any treatment. I am thoroughly pleased with my care.

The front office staff is the reason for my poor review. The doctor I saw (Dr. Mills) was friendly and did a fine job. No complaints with her. When I received my bill, I was overcharged for a very small procedure. I contacted the office about it and the receptionist said she would talk to office manager about it. She called me back a few days later and told me it was fixed on their end and I was given a corrected amount to pay. I sent payment for that amount and considered the matter settled. Then the following month I received another invoice. I again contacted their office and unfortunately, this time they were much less helpful. The man who answered my call this time claimed that there was NO record of my call to them, the invoice adjustment, or the call they returned to me. He kept asking me who I spoke with and then saying that it was a "learning experience" and that I needed to pay the invoice. I finally had to ask if there was anybody else that could help me because he was clearly not interested in doing so. The matter is still not resolved and has left me with a poor opinion of the whole experience.

I have received treatment from both Dr. DeSpain and Dr. Cayce and both are wonderful. Dr. DeSpain treated some spider veins on my legs and they are gone now. I continue to work with Dr. Cayce to treat the sun damage on my face and I am receiving Botox for the stubborn wrinkles on my upper lip. The staff is friendly and courteous. The doctors take the time to answer any and all questions you may have. I will continue to work with the doctors on any skin issues I may have.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I've had a terrible rash for a year. I sent pictures of how bad it was and I got an email 2 days later saying to call to make an appointment. The closest one was 3 months out. I got a referral from a doctor and it was even longer! This place is not interested in getting new patients. Would not recommend trying to get in to anyone.

My experience with Despain Cayce Dermatology is bad to say the least. I went in do to a reoccurring spot on my face. The doctor took a sample to have labs taken because she was worried about Cancer or a cyst. A few days later I received a call was told the results were inconclusive, and they wanted to do surgery for another sample. This get me a little worried and I got another opinion with another dermatologist. At my other dermatologist I was prescribed a cream for Eczema. This cream cost me less than $5.00. I have contested the charges with DeSpain that total approx. $130.00 less the labs. but I have yet to receive a callback.

I've been seeing Dr. DeSpain for over 5 years to treat my adult acne. I'm a challenging case because of my extensive drug allergies. He was willing to think outside of the box for me when my last dermatologist told me I'd run out of options. I appreciate the office's organization and professionalism. It is apparent that Dr. DeSpain spends a great deal of time on professional development and is able to stay current with treatments and improvements in his field. On a recent trip I received a printed set of skin care directions and dosages. This is genius. I used to struggle to remember all of the instructions I was given beyond the RX dosage printed on the label. Please continue this! Topical acne treatments are outrageously expensive and Dr. DeSpain has also worked with my budget by finding alternatives or starting me out with samples.

My family and I have seen Dr. DeSpain so much, we joke that he should be included at family events. He and his staff are extremely thorough, pleasant and create a comforting atmosphere, whether we've been there for check-ups, treatments or microdermabrasion. Most recently, he discovered atypical cells that needed to be removed from my four-year-old son's back. Dr. DeSpain has such a calming presence that he and his outstanding assistant Amanda were able to perform the surgery in his office with only local anesthetic. My son actually looks forward to seeing Dr. DeSpain; it's the only time we don't go to battle over a doctor visit. ;) The occasional wait for an appointment is completely worth it because you will leave fully informed and confident in your treatment. And if you have a spot that is concerning, they will work you in earlier for a screening.
