This women has NO compassion and COMPLETELY RUDE. I was recently referred out to a civilian doctor so I can get a second opinion. My husband works and I’m a stay at home mom so obviously I took my daughter with me to the doctors, which I have done plenty of times before. My daughter is 1 year and 3 months old and pretty much has a mind and attitude of her own and I try my best to contain her the best to my ability, but I do not smack my kid. Well, I go to Merit Health Medical Group in D’Iberville, Ms this morning, and I’m trying to fill out the paperwork and trying to get my daughter in order, who was throwing a fit and screaming in the office, and I did everything I could to get her to stop, while trying to not lose my nerve, because I am by myself and already have people staring at me. Then the doctor pops her head out and says “what is with all that screaming, my DOG is better behaved then you” as I was just about to give her a piece of my mind, she went back inside as I was saying “that’s extremely rude”. At this point, I was trying hard to contain my own composure and again patiently try to keep my daughter quiet everyday I know possible. As my daughter continue to screams (she’s been a public screamer her whole life) I was just about to get up to take her outside, and the same women doctor comes out and says “you can have her screaming like that, I have patience and she can’t be screaming” I looked at her in disbelief and told her that she’s a f***ing baby, what she thought I should do since she wanted to speak on it. She said “idk get control” and I said “would you like me to smack her? Or how should I get control of my child?” And then another lady in the waiting room told me that I need to get better control and I can teach my one year old to BEHAVE better. As if it’s not hard enough to get my 1 year old to listen to me but now I’m a bad parent because I can’t control her screaming? I have never been so humiliated and felt disrespected in my life. I that point I left holding back tears. ESPECIALLY as women. How do you not have some compassion and understanding to other women, especially mothers??? I am soooo upset and how the situation was handled.

I came because I was having trouble sleeping and before I was seen I stated that I have a heart condition. Well they didn’t even do an ekg to make sure that I was ok to have medication prescribed. They gave me an antidepressant to supposedly help me go to sleep. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack right after taking it. I obviously didn’t take another pill. Also, my mother went for sinus issues and they have her painkillers which did not pertain to the issue. Which our other doctor laughed at her way of handling our diagnosis. And now my mother is being billed over 600 hundred dollars for just a consultation and prescription. I’ve worked in the medical field in California for over 5 years and I’ve never seen such incompetence. Don’t be fooled by other reviews because people say they are nice. Being nice and doing your job properly are two different subjects.

A rude staff member was inattentive and she hung up on me prior to closing on Thansgiving holiday. Other than that, every staff member is friendly

I have never felt I needed to do an online review until now. I was referred by a friend to see Dr. Cooper. I had scheduled an appointment and had to call to reschedule due to work. I am over my department at the hospital and was unable to leave. The next appointment was scheduled the same day the tropical storm/hurricane was hitting. I called their office left a message with the answering service stating I would not be able to come in, I am on call with the emergency crew for storm situation. I called today to schedule and I was informed that since I missed my appointments (which remind you I called ahead) Dr. Cooper will not see me now per her office Staff. I personally already gave her name to 3 other people whom I'm calling to inform them to please call someone else. I agree with people just missing appointments, but if they call and situations come up that make it impossible for them to come in, they should not be punished for it by all means.

I’m shocked reading negative reviews about Dr Cooper because I personally am so happy having her as my family doctor! She is truly one of the only doctors that I am completely comfortable discussing anything with. She is very professional but also at the same time gives off such a sense of friendliness making it easy to talk to her. My husband and my son both see her and she was the same way with them. Very pleased!

Most caring, thorough, and informative physician I’ve ever had on the coast.

If i could give her a lower score I would. I have been sick with the same diseases for years and years. I'm 52 yo and some meds I've been on since age 18. I had excellent care in FL but I married a man in MS 2 yrs ago and have seen Tana Cooper around 8 months ago. She refuses to give me medicine, she has made me go cold turkey off medicine that have harmful side effects including suicidal thoughts. I had an echo done jan 31 and have called 5 times for results. It is now almost March and even though Biloxi regional said Cooper would have the results that day in jan I have had nothing but a run-around by their office and today....3 weeks and 2 days after the test...her office informs me another doctor has the results. Why couldn't they tell me this 3 weeks ago? I called the other doctor, guess what? They had no results until Cooper's office called them while on hold with me for a long time and they received the fax of the results due to the office manager at Cooper's warning them I would be calling them next because Cooper's office said it ain't their problem! This DO picks and chooses who to help based on ur ability to obey her orders...she doesn't care if you wish to choose a different treatment. If u try to offer an opinion or have a question about her advice you will be disrespected, not given refills, no referrals to another doctor and dropped from her care. Do you know how HARD it is to find a doctor in this area? Really? I have to basically fill out a job application to see if a doctor will see me. I'm ready for an attorney. Laws need to change here. This doctor is trying to kill me. And absolutely forget having major depressive disorder, anxiety and PTSD...I have no self esteem anyways and she is digging the hole to throw me into when she kills me off. I'm on a inhaler and suffer from COPD but when I called a company to see about an easy to use nebulizer she refused to give the equipment company authorization because she "needs to see me for an office visit first" WHY?? I was just there a week or two before and she refilled a 1 month only refill on my inhaler so why did she need to see me again so soon for the same condition? Like I said...I question all my care (that's my right as a patient) so therefore I'm mistreated!! She should be replaced by someone that cares about your health and comfort for pain and suffering that will never improve...only worsen. Take my advice or leave it, no skin off my back. But when this "doctor" throws me out of her care because I have a voice, it will be further proof of her refusal to follow the physicians code of ethics!! Oh and one final thing...I graduated with an associate degree in medical assisting with a 4.0, on the Dean's List, Top of my Class and many other rewards so even though I can't diagnose and treat, I damn sure know how to treat a patient!!!
