Thumbs DOWN on this business. My eye doctor of many years moved here from St.. Paul Eye Clinics. I can't through to anyone on phone, haven't gotten a call back in a week’s time, and am now out of drops for my glaucoma. This its unacceptable. The Woodbury clinic clearly wasn't ready to open yet. They can't be bothered to be communicated with directly by patients. A Call Center is not the answer. I'll be leaving my doctor and going to the trouble of finding a clinic where I can actually get the care I need.

Very pleased. Was seen promptly. The tech that guided me through the gauntlet of tests, Brittney(sp?), was very personable and professional, as was Dr. Choo. With each test, it was explained as to what was being done and why, and then Dr. Choo explained the results of those tests in terms a person could understand. I felt I was in good hands throughout. Would definitely give my recommendation.

I took my disabled son to Woodbury for an exam, the power went out, I wish we would have left, terrible exam. They charged 370.00 dollars, 270.00 for the pleasure of being a new patient, WOW. I called to discuss this with the billing dept. She stated you could have left, NOW I have left permanently!!

Beautifully done landscaping and professional care!

They often get my prescription sent to the wrong place and have poor follow up care post surgery.

Based on my experience, this clinic has deceptive billing practices. Preventative eye care is covered by my plan. I was told by the doctor referring me to Minnesota Eye Consultants that I was receiving a preventative exam. When the bill was sent, not only was it coded as not a preventative exam, but I was also charged for four different eye exams. Medica claims I was double-billed and the claim needs to be corrected and resent, but the Minnesota Eye Consultants billing person refused to talk to me about correcting the claim. Now I'm stuck with a $451 bill for an eye exam. Considering the patient is the customer, I think the rude treatment I received was unnecessary.

I have called both the 952 number and the Woodbury office. I have left 2 detailed messages with my phone number and NO CALL BACK. I would never trust a place with my eyes that can't bother to call back a NEW client? They answer, but when you tell them you want to make an appointment they "transfer" you and then you get put on hold forever. I'd suggest you hire LIVE people to answer the calls for scheduling. I was also on hold for over 5 minutes before I chose the option to leave a message ...... just sayin.

Would never recommend. Took my teenager to Dr. Kennedy for a second opinion. Tech’s do ALL of the work instead of the actual doctor which is scary since the tech is the one essentially writing the prescription!!! Daughter failed drivers license eye exam but doctor claims my daughter tested with 20/20 vision. She can’t even see the board at school! What a waste of time!

Made an appointment last August and had to wait till November to get in. On the day of the appointment they called and cancelled my appointment staking there was an emergeny. When I called to reschedule they pushed me out another two and a half months. When challenged about the delay they had no concern and had an additude of take it or leave it. Dr Awad, should I find a new clinic?

Saint Paul Dermatology

I have had eye surgery performed by Dr Elizabeth Davis and her team. SPECTACULAR service, quality and care. Colleen and all the staff are always friendly, polite, thorough and kind. Highly recommended! !!

The doctors and service staff are very professional and provided first-class customer service. I had never been there before and didn't know where to go. They directed me and told me precisely what I needed to do! I don't recall the young lady who performed my cornea evaluation but she did a tremendous job. Thank you Minnesota Eye Consultants!

I had eye surgery there they did awesome job. I had 40 stiches in my for head and eyelids and no scars.

I would not recommend this clinic. During my first visit, the technician who saw me was very impatient with me, because I had problems getting my wheelchair in the proper position to make measurements. She also became frustrated with me when I had problems balancing while being weighed. My main complaint, however, is the same as previous reviewers regarding phone calls. In attempting to speak to schedulers, it is almost impossible to speak directly to a real person. If you miss a phone call, they leave a message for you to leave your information and they will call you back in two days. When they finally call back, if you are not available, the whole cycle starts again. No one sits by their phone constantly for 2-3 days waiting for them to call! This process continued with me for many, many days. I tried to express my frustration to no avail. Today I finally talked to a scheduler who was angry with me because when she finally called me yesterday, I was having phone problems and we didn’t connect. I wanted to talk to her about my frustration about their system, but she cut me off and became defensive, telling me how busy she is with other patients. I get the impression they do things for their own convenience rather than for the needs of the patients.I just can’t trust these people to take care of my eyes! The one star is for the main operator who was very kind and tried to help me. The doctors and management probably are not made aware of this problem. I worked with the public in a caring profession for 43 years and ALWAYS responded to constituents’ phone calls promptly and IN PERSON, even if it wasn’t always convenient for me!

I went here twice for cataract removal and both times sat in the waiting room for over 3 hours before the procesure. There was no communication or explanation. They clearly overschedule knowing people will have to wait several hours after the scheduled appointment time but dont seem to care. Unprofessional "assembly line" atmosphere. Have never seen anything like it and would never go back.

I would not recommend this clinic either. During my first visit, the technician who saw me was very rude as well. I dont need that kind of service...

I have been trying to make an appointment at the Woodbury office for two weeks. I have left at least five messages. I have been on hold for 45 minutes multiple times before giving up. No one has ever called me back. It’s the worst customer service experience of my life. Today I called the office number and told them all of the above and pleaded for them to direct me to a real person, but no, she again switched me to the hold line. It’s extremely apparent that no one cares about helping people trying to schedule an appointment.

My appointment did not last more than 1 hour which included a New Patient exam, Contact Lens fitting and Refraction. It took only 5 mins until they called me back and the work-up with the tech took about 15 mins. The wait time for the Doctor to come in to see me was less than 15 mins also. I really liked Dr.Buboltz. He is a personable professional and has a caring demeanor- I immedietely felt comfortable being under his care. He was patient and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Overall I had a great experience at the MN Eye Consultants Woodbury location but the one important thing I would recommend is for your technicians to clean the slit lamp and all instruments directly Infront of the patient. I worked at an Ophthalmology practice for 2 years as a Tech and I was taught by the doctors there to always wipe the instruments and slit lamps with the alcohol wipe directly infront of the patient where they see you. It totally makes a difference and it stood out like a sore thumb. I did not feel comfortable using and touching the instruments I was given, especially the Icare when it took my eye pressure. During the appointment I asked the tech to clean the AR machine before taking my measurement and she responded with "we clean it after every patient but I can clean again right now if you want". Although that could be the truth, I would never know if it actually is the truth because I'm not there to witness it happening myself. Before asking the tech all I could do was assume but if I hadn't asked I honestly would never know. Being on the patient end now, I see it as simply giving patients that peice of mind that cleanliness is taken seriously at the practice. The worst thing you would want is to get an eye infection from an eye doctor's office. Now, the average joe would never think of this as being an issue unless you're a germophobe but since I have experience having been an Opthalmic technician myself I hold this kind of care on a much higher standard. Unfortunately MN Eye consultants failed to meet that high quality standard of care

I wanted to share my horrible experience with Minnesota Eye Consultants and Dr. Sherman Reeves so that other patients do not have to experience the same atrocious treatment and customer service that I did. Under Dr. Reeves’ care, the vision in one of my eyes was destroyed to the point where I can’t read the numbers on my speedometer in my car. When I shared my frustrations with Dr. Reeves, I was told he could no longer treat me and to go find another doctor. Originally, I was referred to Dr. Reeves because the vision in one of my eyes had changed from 20/20 to 20/40 over a few years time. Dr. Reeves recommended what he called a simple procedure called Cross Linking. The procedure involved removing the top layer of cells from the cornea, applying riboflavin (Vitamin B2 eyedrops), and then exposing the eye to ultraviolet (UVA) light. Dr. Reeves explained that the Cross Linking procedure would not improve my vision, but I could expect it to stabilize it. The procedure is not currently covered by insurance in the United States, so I paid MN Eye Consultants $1,800. On the day of the procedure Dr. Reeves explained that my vision would be significantly worse for 7-10 days following the procedure as the surface of my cornea healed. Dr. Reeves was correct. My vision after the procedure was 20/100 in my treated eye. The only problem is my vision never improved! More than one year later my vision in treated eye remains at 20/100. I attended numerous follow up visits with Dr. Reeves. Every time I saw Dr. Reeves I shared my growing frustration and he responded the same way, “wait, things will improve.” As months passed, I became more worried that my vision would never return to anywhere near the 20/40 I had prior to the procedure. As I shared my feelings with Dr. Reeves I found him more and more uncaring about my situation. His answers were always vague and his demeanor was aloof. The more questions I asked about my long term treatment options, the more Dr. Reeves appear to be annoyed, even stating during one visit that I had unrealistic expectations of the procedure. Since when is desiring vision better than 20/100 unrealistic? To this day, Dr. Reeves has never been able to give me a straight answer as to what happened to my eye and how we could make it better. Just non-direct, vague answers. At my one year post-op visit, Dr. Reeves once again could not provide direct answers to my questions about what happened to my eye, but did finally admit it was unlikely my vision would ever improve. At that time I asked Dr. Reeves for a refund of my $1,800 I paid him one year earlier. Dr. Reeves said that he needed two weeks to think about and that he would call me with an answer. Two weeks later I got certified letter in the mail from MN Eye Consultants stating that they would not refund my money and that they would no longer be able to provide care to me stating a breakdown of the physician-patient relationship. No phone call, no explanation, not even a we’re sorry the procedure did not go as expected. Just a letter telling me to go away. As I write this, I am not sure what my next steps should be. The only thing I know for sure is that the vision in one of my eyes was ruined under the care of Dr. Reeves and as soon as I started to ask questions, they refused to treat me anymore. No one should go through what I went through. Please choose another doctor. There are many in the Twin Cities that actually know how to provide competent treatment and treat their patients with care and respect.

I have had many of their services - annual exams, surgery, and more and have always had an excellent experience there. All the docs are really good but, as with any clinic, there may a doc you prefer. They are extremely responsive to patient needs so if you have an issue with them I’m sure they would like to know so that they can address it. Highly recommended!
