Excellent care and attention to detail by staff. If l need something it seems a person or resource shows up.

Among the best care I have ever had.

I am disappointed in Iowa City Iowa's vet hospital and Minneapolis vet hospital. My fathers best friend needs triple by-pass surgery and they tried to do a angioplasty on July 19th in Iowa City however they were unable to do this due to artery too clog. So they are sending him to the VA hospital in Minneapolis (was told it was excellent hospital for heart) for the procedure and it is now July 28th and still have not heard from them. He has called and no one seems to no anything or they do not return his calls. I am no nurse or Dr., however I am pretty sure this is not acceptable medical treatment. These vets deserve so much better treatment then they are receiving.

In response: My appt was just cancelled out of nowhere. I will not be seeking medical attention from the VA in MN.....11/18/17....Everyone was great except on nurse at the front desk in the Emeegency room. Very nasty and short. I was there for panic attacks and have never been treated like this of any VA Ive been. She is a fat slob who didnt have her name tag showing. She started asking me personal questions while in the lobby. I asked softly Do we really need to discuss this out here? She said "if u dont want to, fine!" And shoved the papers in the face of the admin beside her. Just nasty. The woman who called a week later to set up an appointment had a nasty attitude, also. Telling me my initial appt must be made in the a.m. I said well Im new to the city and get off mid afternoon and Im not avail til a certain time. She said Oh Ok, like, Oh Well. I hung up on her. The have continued to call. Not interested in receiving anymore care at this facility than I have to. Ive heard this VHA had a low employee satisfaction rate. I believe it. Everyone else, security, eligibility/enrollment staff, and the other depts I went to including Womens Health and Primary care were pretty awesome. Def second worse experience Ive ever had at a VA as a veteran of nearly 20 years.

I've had all kinds of care at this VA, surgeries, skin cancer care, 3 week in patient stays and whole lot more. It has always been adequate, with none of the problems some of the other scandal ridden VA's around the country have had. I feel very lucky to have served in the United States Navy and earned this benefit. I an so glad I don't have to deal with the Affordable Care Act!

Stacey Cole

Absolutely impressed! Staff and physicians were amazing. I didn’t feel rushed or ignored like I have other centers in the past. Top notch! The wait times were impeccable. Absolutely refreshing.

Miles Winslow

I always get fantastic service here at the Minneapolis VA. Wonderful staff...

The call center is BS. I live in rochester but I have to make a 3-5 min phone call to Minneapolis just to be transferred to Rochester. I used to just be able to call my outpatient clinic directly. I was happy now if I want to talk to my provider I make the call and the are given 48 hours to call back. What if 48 is too long? Glad trump signed the bill to allow veterans to go to privatized healthcare options. (The right to try) Hopefully I can use a different facility away from the VA. VA better start looking in the best interest of veterans. Maybe when veterans start leaving the VA under this new law, better support will come in.

Cheryl Barker

I was so pleased to see so many positive reviews of the Minneapolis Hospital. I feel exactly the same. My personal experience deals with a lifelong (ever since childhood) case of clinical depression. In my earlier years, if would come and go; as I aged, it became more frequent. Finally, (I think it was 1999 or maybe 2000), the depression settled in to stay, and it was horrible. I'd spent a lot of time and money in and out of civilian hospitals; I'd tried many medications; but nothing would help. The Minneapolis VA hospital found the right combination of meds (not even in high doses!), and I finally had a life. This was roughly 17 years ago, and I continue to be well -- no more depression. Shortly after, a civilian eye doctor found an anomoly in one of my eyes. I couldn't see it; he could, using his instruments; but he didn't know what it was. Again, the Minneapolis VA came to my rescue, and diagnosed the problem immediately. Better yet, it wasn't really a problem. It was an innocuous "freckle" 'way back in my eye. Now, the VA checks my vision, and especially the "freckle," once per year, just in case there would be a change. So far there's been no change, so that's good news.

anjil barnes

Very impressed with the Mpls VA Hospital. I brought my husband into emergency and he was seen and diagnosed quickly. Surgery was needed same day. Each and every nurse, doctor and staff member that we interacted with were incredible to us both. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

M. Bloom

While suffering severely with depression and increasing ptsd symptoms I reached out to 3 different VA providers in a 10 day window and was ignored by all 3. I was frustrated at this so I went to the patient advocate office and the door was locked, so I called while standing right there and left a voicemail. They never called me back. I have written to my congressman about this as well, but he's not worth his weight in pennies, so I doubt anything will happen. If you're ever baffled by the fact that we lose 21 vets a day to suicide, look no further than the VA and how they shrugged me off and ignored my requests for help. Where are vets supposed to go when their healthcare providers ignore them? I'm lucky that I had my family to support me through this and keep me from sinking too deep, but not everyone is so lucky. Do better, Minneapolis VA.

The VA has failed my husband. After serving 12 years active duty and recently transitioning to the Minnesota Guard he was given unnerving results on an MRI of his cervical and lumbar spine. On top of the chronic pain he essentially can be paralyzed in a short period of time and is experiencing neuropathy and foot drop. The VA has continued to loose his paperwork getting him into a Neurosurgeon for the past 7 weeks! He even went to the emergency room where he was told a specialist needed to see him. Veterans choice and the VA will not give him an answer or referral and continues to give him the run around. He is the father of three children and has served multiple tours overseas. This kind of treatment of our soldiers and veterans is despicable. Not only is he suffering but his three children ages 11, 8 and 9 months don't have their father after all his years of service! I am horrified this type of treatment continues. The most disturbing part, my husbands thoughts on this subject "no wonder so many vets resort to suicide....."

Tobie Arfstrom

Best care, great people.

Earl Netwal

I am very happy with the care I got here when I had my knee replacement surgery last July

David Dumford

Every visit to the Minneapolis Veterans Hospital for care has been exemplary. They took care of my vision and hearing needs in a professional, and courteous manner, even adjusting my eyeglass frames as needed.I was provided with a CPAP machine and given an informative class on usage yesterday and now have a new quiet modern machine which is remotely monitored and adjusted as necessary.A great improvement over my old noisy unit.I really can not thank the VA staff enough for their wonderful service.David Dumford USAF veteran

Christina Briggs

Very nice VA Facility and helpful friendly Staff

Jesse Neely

Worst experience I have ever had! Each and every time gets worse. No one knows anything about anything. You ask a question and they tell you to call a number. Drove twice to get an ID card both times the only machine they have was down both times! GretG way to treat veterans who have earned the so called VA BENEFITS! Not sure where the benefits are!?

Frank Ewurs

I've received nothing but poor service and generally rude people when dealing with this facility. I'm originally from Iowa and had to go to this facility for an appointment. The staff that I seen did not provide adequate results to me personally.I've since tried to call in and inquire about my travel pay and have been given nothing but the runaround. I'm on my fourth fax to the travel pay office. When you call them they are extremely rude about answering my questions. I just recently seen a report on the news about VA hospitals and how this is one of the worst now I understand why.

Robert Miller

Went to the er and the feeling of urgency is lacking all meaning of emergency. I also have called and nothing in response to these matters

Richard Eschbach

Exceptional care by staff and ficility. It is an honor to be a veteran and be taken care of so well. With all the men and women that go through this system daily, it is like I'm the only one there for the amount of care and respect that I get. All I can say is THANK YOU!

MARK LARSON

I love the Minneapolis VA. I never really appreciated it until I moved to phoenix. Now I think the Minneapolis VA should be used as a model for the rest of the nation. Are you unhealthy? Do not retire to phoenix. regards

Scott Hudek

Best experience from start to finish I've ever had at a VA hospital. Staff is quick and efficient which is generally not the case with most VAs. Kudos.

Robert S

They saved my life. I have received excellent care

Tautalamaiaso Pippitt

Free or nearly free hollistic medical care for veterans and family members. Well, almost hollistic. There is no OBGYN for pregnant ladies, but the VA may be able to pay for all or some of the services provided by an outside (civilian) providers. They also provide a variety of programs such as Yoga for women veterans, weight loss program (MOVE) to name a few. The cafeteria is alright, although it could use a lot more healthier options instead of oily or deep fried foods. Parking are also scarce so avoid arriving at the last minute for an appointment. Plan a few minutes ahead to allow yourself plenty of time to find parking. Thank you for your service, Tala And thank you to all caregivers, spouses, and VA staff members for their hard work and support. Soifua

Shantel Volker

This place is awesome unless you need to got to orthopedics... every single appointment I've had for them I've had to wait and hour to an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. It's very frustrating and if I didn't have to come here I wouldn't. I have missed multiple appointments because of them!

Anne McGee

I am only trying to comment on your answering system, which I listened to for about 20 minutes before being connected to the party I was trying to reach. I can believe you have a wonderful health care system, but the tape I listened to while waiting sounded like a very disinterested person with maybe broken up music or something in the background telling me how important i was....you know, the normal waiting message. Please listen to your message and update it to echo the quality of your institution. Thank you

danny z

I've always dreaded going to the VA - my main experiences were the ones in Hampton, VA, but moving here to minneapolis, i've only had amazing care from support staff and medical staff. They work with my schedule, and do what helps me - not just give me check in the box treatment and kick me out.

Thomas Gibbons

They treat veterans really well..

Connie Zasada

My husband had pain in his side, mentioned it to his provider in October, statement passed over, continued with side pain went back in January, provider finally listened, did CT scan, blood clot in portal vein of his liver, sent to Minneapolis, I can't even tell you how many CT scans, endoscopies, colonoscopies, and blood tests he went through. I just kept begging for him not to fall through the cracks! His last CT scan showed something and the hematology dr said to take him to the emergency room. That was August 6th, the 8th he was transferred to the U of Mn. The 9th he was in surgery, had a good weekend, I knew he was going to have surgery on Tuesday, I had asked for the nurse to call when she knew what time. No call, I got to the U and he was already in surgery! August 14th I lost my best friend, and husband. I will not ever get over this loss. All because I didn't ever want to see him go through the cracks. HE DID! Hopefully they learn from this.

Guy Azbell

I could write a book.but will only touch on a few encounters I have had to endure, 3 blood clots dislodged and went into my right lung this is after being kicked out and CHF the v.a. said they needed the beds, so i made it to my car I made it home and woke up with the blood clots I went to a hospital near where I live could not breath and figured the v.a. surely would not have an issue WRONG! The v.a. said blood clots are not life threatening and they had beds all of a sudden, so I waited for awhile (3 yrs) went back to. v.a. and looked around it was remodeled I thought maybe they got rid of all the.vet haters and my liver doc looked pretty smart she ordered all the scans and everything so I get dressed wash up and drive through heavy traffic get there check in a few minutes later they told me my apts were canceled this place causes more deaths and needs a congressional investigatiI want to see this againion and bad, i remember the high quality care before that communist Kenyan usurped the presidency and destroyed all heath care,

Paul C. G. Carmichael

Not a Veteran or Soldier, but I've been here a few times with my dad (who is one). It's a nice looking place, but parking looks bad.

Annabelle Cooper

If only I could give a negative star review. An operator was unbelievably rude to me. & when I requested to make a formal complaint; he rufused to give me any information so I could get in touch with his superior, nor his name so I could file a formal complaint. Then he told me that he was going to "flag my file for attitude" and also that he was "wasting his time talking to me". He said that I could try and file a complaint against him, but it would never get back to him. Needless to say, this Minneapolis VA operator, working at 1459 on 24July2017, was quite a gentleman to this United States Marine Corps Veteran.

Becky Pierson

kind, compassionate, skilled staff - excellent experience

Tom P

I receive excellent care and respect from the staff at the VA.

Alex R

Amazing, these people have saved my life. I used to live in South Carolina and it literally felt like a third world country. Here in MN the VA is so clean, the staff are more empathetic, everything is just better up here in the north!

Lakenesha Wilson

I use to work here and I have to say their Dietary Department is not very friendly towards Veterans. I even left a letter with the director but was ignored. But I'm glad to see that they are doing a great job with caring for veterans at least. No need to be sorry if course this is an automatic response. I was pretty much blacklisted after that.

Colleen Kelley

My son needs back surgery, a fusion etc. He was told this a month ago and is still waiting for the scheduler to call and set up the appt. My son called many times and is in alot of pain and was told a couple days ago the doctors have not discussed it yet. VERY frustrating! !!

Jason Cole

Always get the help that I need.

stephen eisenreich

Very caring and compassionate people. Knowledgeable, attentive, responsive.

Kiska Kelder

Mr. Mike Rosecrans, Extremely helpful, best guy there if you need a patient advocate..He's not masquerading as a patient advocate, he is the REAL DEAL and sincere as well. He CAN and DOES help Vet's.

Steven Brenner

My dad always gets great care here.

LarryB

I get fast treatment every time I go there.

Jennifer Lucas

I just moved here from the Louisville VA system and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. Very rude people answering the phone system who act like I should know how the moving to a new facility process goes. I even had a person today when calling to set up my initial appointment for family care say have a great day at the end of our appointment schedule that was handlers by her acting like it was painful to make my appointment. She called me back and said you hung up before o could ask you another question. My bad I thought have a great day was the end of our conversation. I don't force you to have your job. Don't treat me like garbage.

Mike Jones

Great Hospital, the Mental Health unit is amazing here.

E.j. Teegarden

U.S.Marine here (1st.Recon.93-96): Totally different health care experience! Although being a Marine will always be who I am, treatment from the Minneapolis V.A. has enabled me to go to school; to learn skills, be somebody other than what we are. I feel honored, respected, and that my service related medical needs have been/are met - the way every Vet. should be taken care of. Sincerely: “Thank you to ALL of you for your service in serving us. It matters! Over-and-out...”

Andrew Huff

Quite possibly the best VAMC in the USA. I really miss the staff and the doctors here. Clean and high tech facility. Great coordination between the clinics.

Pamela Yager

Good Doctor's, Good care, pp l

John Hickey

Wonderful Hospital. Huge upgrades from the old Hospital. I've had very good experiences with health care here.

Monkeywrench542 .

Best VA hospital I have been too. exceptional care from doctors, nurses and staff. this is one hospital for veterans that truly cares about the veterans that they treat.

Casey CJ

Love the service here.Appointment were scheduled with travel and time considerations in mind. The VA runs as good as any major hospital. I Enjoyed all of the staff. Did have a problem with getting an ID. but talk to the supervisor and it was corrected almost instantly. I want to Thank everyone that works there! Keep up the good work!

Peter Meyerhoff

Many clinics ,always courteous , lot of volunteers to help with mobility, Excellent cafeteria, top notch all around.

tim nash

They took very good care of me, in and out in no time. Everyone very friendly and caring.

Ed Katterson

Simply outstanding. I'm considering moving closer to family in North Carolina. The thing holding me back, primarily, is this wonderful VA hospital. Since moving here in 03, I have received outstanding care. I have no idea how they do it, but this first-class facility is modern and the first-rate people have work here have treated me like a dignitary every time I walk (hobble or was carried) in the door. Everyone, (from the volunteers pushing wheelchairs to the extraordinary surgeon that restored twenty years to my life, ) have treated me with respect, kindness and professionalism far beyond my expectations. I make a point of saying this to everyone I see, while I'm in the hospital. Sixteen years of extraordinary and exceptional medical care. Thank you VA Minneapolis.

Brad Gross

It's the VA. Just have patience

Mark Puleo

Excellent care, fast service.

Wendy Fillion

Miss Laura Pruitt from 2nd floor surgical unit was patient, kind, and showed genuine concern for my uncles comfort. The entire staff is always a joy to be around!! As always the entire hospital was spotless!! How they keep it so clean is a mystery! Thank you all!

James Mastne

Awesome place for vets to get help

Mike Langford

I have a multitude of medical issues and I am seen at this facility quite often. I want to tell everyone that I have never had a bad experience here. The Doctors, Nurses, and Staff are always polite, professional, and take the time to explain things and answer your questions. If it weren’t for the Mpls VA Medical Center and the Montevideo VA Clinic, I wouldn’t be here today. They diagnosed my cancer 12 years ago and knew exactly what and how to take care of it.

Larry K

I have been going to the mpls va center for at least 5 years and have always received the best care possible, the staff is always very friendly and helpful

John Symons

I get real good healthcare here.

Colleen Stadt

It's one of the best Veterans Hospitals I've been to

Anthony Kimbrough

They take good care of me

Da_Big_Doc

Definitely the best VA I've been to out of the 4 others that have seen me. I've been able to make same day/walk in appointments with my primary care provider for minor issues. Appointments for MRI have been very good. Specialty clinics are a little hit or miss, but I'd say still above the VA average I've experienced. The representatives for the VA even made the effort to come to my schools student veteran group and talk to us about VA issues. They also respond to social media messages, and the few times I've had issues they were genuinely interested in helping me resolve it. Overall very happy with the care I've received, and this VA has been a large factor in keeping me in MSP.

Tom Wesley

The VA Medical Center has been the EPI center of my health care for the past 14 plus years. Service when at this facility has been nothing more than the greatest. When you call depending on the day or the time you may encounter things or issues that you don't know how to handle. I've taken a few issues to the Patient Advocacy Office on a few items that needed immediate attention. Example: Getting Refills and cancelling refills with out you aware until its too late. This is one issue that should never happen. The doctor sees you, goes over the drug list, should be able to tell when the dates are going to cease and your next appointment. This is one of the biggest issues I've come across. There has to be a method, a means of training to the physician to ensure they remember to check as well. We the patients are excited we are getting seen and at times will miss a particular topic or med. Even so, there should be a means of having a quality check. Why not the nurses? Or the Clinic staff at the counter. Want to know more, invite me to the next clinical staff meeting for open forum. I used to run clinics and emergency rooms. I don't know everything but I think the oblivious is being missed.

Tom Jacobs

I came to help my father with his appointments. There was not one person we came into contact with, who genuinely did not want to help. It was a great experience. I am thankful that my father has such a great place for care!!

Susan Pfeffer

I went to the VA hospital for my brother's surgery. Everyone was knowagable , friendly and helpful.

Lonnie Ostrom

Great quality of health care and the staff is always very helpful.

Thomas Harper

The staff of the VA hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota are amazing. From the lady who checked me in at the ER desk, to the gentleman that pushed me in a wheelchair from the ER to dermatology to all of the wonderful professionals that helped me during my visit, I couldn't be more satisfied with my VA experience or more proud of the thoughtful and caring people who work and volunteer at the VA.

Brian Christenson

This idea where I get my care.

roger michelson

Have been receiving care at the Minneapolis VA for years. Top notch care, thank you!

Jimmy

Excellent service, treatment and appointment scheduling. I've had no problems with this facility over the many years and types of treatment that I've received. Considering that it is a FREE service provided to us veterans, that is amazing.

ernie Zappa

Very kind people and great experience. They make you feel important and super doctors and nurses or assistants.

Christopher Nutter

If your doctor has your prescription ready you'll be in and out of the pharmacy in about 20-30 minutes.

david cochrane

A-Fib people need to do a Cardioversion. Don't hesitate, do this procedure SOON! YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID! No more sick feeling inside. No more out of breath. Quality of life has increased significantly for me. Dofetilide and Eliquis. That along with the brief electrocardioversion. All the staff at this hospital CARE! Also a nice modern facility, and clean.

John Serfling

They saved my life ..

Ray G

Outstanding care. The same equipment, providers and procedures as any other clinic in the twin cities. The staff makes the difference. Any problems the VA has is on the admin side, not the patent care side.

Robert LaFreniere

Very large , great service for vets

John Fitzgerald

Wonderful medical and nursing staff, caring, helpful employees, organizational commitment to helping veterans.

Gerald Senear

I spent four months at the Minneapolis VA after "Life Saving" emergency surgery. The Minneapolis VA is 2nd to none. During that 4 months and in subsequent visits I have not met anything but caring Staff, Doctors and Nurses. Signs are posted in all the waiting rooms that if you have to wait 30 min. beyond your scheduled appointment please contact the ward desk. The Hospital itself is beautiful. One of, if not the best, in the United States. During the day the Emergency Room is always filled and patients are triaged like any other Emergency Room in the United States. Waiting times are much better than County Hospitals in Minnesota. Even the large Trauma Centers Like the County Hospital in Minneapolis. Now they have installed a new parking ramp that does away with the parking problems noted in some of the other reviews. All in all the Minneapolis VA is one of the best VA Hospitals in the Nation. Yes we vets served and should have respect and the medical benefits offered by the VA but we should also show appreciation for the fine Medical Services the Minneapolis VA provides. All at no cost to the Vet.

Paul Wehling

Had neck surgery in April 2016. All the nurses and doctors were very good. Returning in January 2018 for follow up. The Spinal Cord unit is one of the best in the Nation.

Honest Reviewer

I made an appt with the Optometrist and finally got my glasses. I cannot see through the left lense. My eyes were checked by a student and she did not write down my prescription correctly. I do not appreciate not being able to see a real doc. Waste of time and money. I have called the customer service line MULTIPLE times and only get voicemail. I left them my name and number last week and haven't got a call back. Disappointed. I will just get a pair from my local clinic.

Jenifer Markoe

I have moved here from West Palm Beach FL and the care here is much better. In FL I was lucky to get my teeth cleaned once a year let alone have something major done. Meanwhile the VA has already done 2 implants and did a great job. For the most part everyone is helpful and caring. The only problem is the long wait to get a appointment (over 30 days) and that they need more people to answer the phones. Every time I call I am on hold for 20 to 30 minutes.

Diane Michaels

My husband had 4 different kinds of Cancer in 10 years. He passed away in Dec, 2016. Each time he was hospitalized he received excellent care. His last hospitalization lasted 10 months. He stayed in the extended living community because he was so very sick. The staff there was wonderful. They allowed him to make all the decisions about his care and hospice. After he passed they allowed me to stay with him in his room for over two hours. As I took his last walk with him, his body was covered with the service flag, people lined up in the hallway and atrium. They saluted him and hugged me and I cried and cried. It was such an honorable way to say goodbye to him. I will never forget what his last walk together meant to us.

Tom Mortensen

The staff at the VA hospital is wonderful. They are truly committed to serving the veterans. You are able to get an appointment scheduled when you want it to be.

Aprill O'Grady

Management is hostile to employees. Patient care is substandard because of management.

Scott Dago

I went to the emergency room with just a toothache. I was seen and helped very quickly. The Doctors and Nurses were really helpfull and understanding.

Valentin Noel

Timely and quality care with thorough, friendly, and joyful medical staff. I've heard many stories of fellow veterans from other VA centers have far less than acceptable care. This VA facility is probably one of the best in the nation!

Marti Gibbs

Service was quick Everyone was nice and helpful.

Alicia Kruegel

Today 6-18-2018 I called nurse line from home in Rochester MN. Gave him my husband's symptoms. He told me to get him up to the VA ER right away. Told them I was instructed to bring him immediately. Arrived at 10, still waiting at 12:08. Called nurse again. Said to ask to speak with a charge nurse. 45 minutes later, no nurse to talk to me yet. Receptionist checking people in is very rude! If she doesn't like her position, get a different one. Same with Dr. Maghali. Just got into a room after a 3 hour wait in the ER waiting room. She came in and was very rude and insensitive. The nurses are the only ones that have treated us like humans, not a nuisance. She also said, "if he were admitted he'd be transferred out, to not sure where because they have no beds left here." I will continue to post updates of the crappy way we have been spoken to, and treated throughout the day today.... Stay tuned......this may not be the only place published.....

Kandace Green

Haven't spent much time here yet but i give them 4 stars to start with because i always believe there is room for improvement

1DumMarine

Went in after a knee dislocation (one of many) and a fall. Knee was swollen three times its size. I was giving a bandage and told to leave. I asked for an xray and was denied. I find out three months later after an MRI that I had two fractures in my knee..

Donald Kane

The mlps V.A. IS THE BEST . The V.A. saved my life and It is an honor to serve fellow veterans each and every day!

Michael Kelly

The leading VAMC facility for TBI treatment and research, it has literally been a lifesaver for folks. I personally use the dual-diagnosis ARS (Addiction Recovery Services), and my life has been saved. What they treat runs the entire gamut- if you are struggling, or just want to speak with a caring professional, please don't hesitate to drop by. :-)

Allen Williamson

Great service. Friendly service. Very good medical care in all departments.

Harold Holec

Neurology Clinic is a joke, they have med students see patients. Doctor(s) hid somewhere, but will Not see patients only available to med student's.

Adam Morgan

Where to start... for 3 years I have scheduled my annual physical with my primary care, every time I also have a blood draw and every year they never put in the order for the blood draw. This year I had enough cancelled my appointment with my PC because I have had enough. Last year I went between my PC office and blood draw 4 times to get that part taken care of. On top of that the never came and got me for my appointment with my PC and told me that I would have to come back another day to be seen or I could wait 2 hours for a possibility to be seen if they had time. This time I was not going thru that. Just cancelled and will not go back.

Michael Michael

This is one of the best hospitals in the country. I believe they're rated #2 in the country at the moment. I have had several operations here and have always been treated like a king. I would put my life in their hands for any medical reasons. It doesn't take a long time to get an appointment or to be seen by a Doctor. All in all this is the place for Veterans.

Jason Chattman

They keep me healthy

Phil Johnson

they are great. . . a bit slow

Teasha Lightfoot

Retail store workers are great always willing to help.

Gerald Dueffert

Great Dr could not been better

David S

I wouldn't take my dog to this dump.... period!

me .

One star only for the nurses and aids, zero for the doctor. Saw a Dr. Seema Maddali for extreme back , neck and leg pain.If the exam lasted 5 mins I would be surprise. Showed no professionalism, courtesy or concern. She didn't explain the medication that she prescribed. Didn't help. I have cancer and other medical issues. With a prescription I was out the door. The ER was not busy that night nurses were stand around. Thank God I have OPM insurance and can go some where else. I feel sorry for those vets that have only the VA for an option. Is this the best the VA can do for doctors??? I see why so many Viet Nam vets are killing them self's with this kind of [care?]. Thanks to the nurses, aids and staff for your professionalism.

john creagh

Trying to get help from dental clinic.I need three extractions due to broken teeth from dry mouth.I have 100 percent rating and have been waiting for weeks in pain waiting for appointments.Paying downtown oral surgeons 500 dollars a tooth while waiting on the Va.............................

Kevin Porp

Still waiting on a refill for my cymbalta. They said I'd have it almost two weeks ago and still hasn't arrived. Google cymbalta withdrawal and youll know how happy I am. They can't just sent a prescription to my local pharmacy and keep telling me day after day that I'll get it within 24 hours

Dustin Pachtinger

Some services great for veterans, others suck

Eric Hollan

Always polite and helpful.

kenneth Wedin

Very clean and very nice facility

The Minneapolis VA is the best medical care I have ever had. Pain clinic, 2 knee surgeries, general care all the best. The few complainers I have run into haven't explained their needs and had poorly explained issues.

Kimberly Paul

I work here

Adam Herr

Outstanding care. One if the Top VAs in the nation and far better than many of the Midwest hospitals.

Jeana Haynes

They do excellent work for the vet. This place is fantastic. What would we do without it? It is so worth it. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

J A

Sets the bar for what VA Health Care should be. Been to many a clinic afyer retirement and no other competes. Friendliest of staff. Ease of appointment scheduling. Excellent care.

Dan Macgowan

There are wonderful caring people who try to make the VA hospital work.

aaron hinz

The phone system can feel rushed. Talking to the call center feels more like people are pushing to meet their call quota and not addressing the needs of the veterans.

Laurie anderson

This place is going to get me killed because they won’t do their job. Dr jay (his last name, not first name) and his social worker do not care to treat their patients and all they say is give the meds time. No help, no compassion for real people.

Robyn Diamond

Here with my Dad. Today he is getting teeth extracted. He has received excellent care here from head to toe!! This campus is HUGE. Volunteers have been extremely helpful.

Tom Gibbons

Long waits but that's understandable

William Jack

I am unlucky enough to be old and not too healthy, so I have had a lot of experience with various hospitals and clinics in the Twin Cities area. Without a doubt, and with no close second, the VA Center gives me the best care. Example? I was in the VA pulmonary clinic, and the pulmonary physician asked who had been treating me at Hennepin Faculty Associates (This clinic is rated highly). The VA physician said, "Yes, I know that doctor. He was one of my students." That's typical of what I've encountered at the VA Medical Center. It makes me happy that I am a vet, and that I live close enough to the VA Medical Center.

jerel warren

Serves our Veterans with outstanding care

Ian Van Straten

I have been here multiple times for my care over the years and I've always been given the highest level of care. The wait times can sometimes be long but that's to be expected with the volume of patients they have.

Meghan LaTourelle

Rudest nurses and assistants I've ever met. Can't get any service without them giving you an attitude and acting like you're nothing but an inconvenience. I'm not at all impressed after taking my mom to this ER. Very upsetting and outrageous to see how they treated these veterans after all their service for this country.

The BEST

Crystal DePonty

Took my spouse in with abnormal cardiac symptoms and they did the standard run of the mill testing. However, the bedside manner was much to be desired...everyone except the XRay team. His symptoms had subsided and basically told him he was wrong it isn't his heart because nothing reflected it despite what had happened this morning. A nurse said "Good news is, it isn't your heart!" And sent us away. The tech looked at the EKG and diagnosed it as normal. Wrong credentials! It would be nice to know they didn't loathe their jobs....robots!

If you are a Minnesota Veteran - do yourself a favor and check out our local VA Hospital. They are spectacular!

Nate Patet

I have had mostly great experiences at our VA. A few bad ones but overall I can't complain.

john finlay, iii

A lot of help to get you where you need to go.

Donovan Schultz

Great healthcare. Clean hospital. Is where I go for healthcare and am very satisfied with this hospital. Romans 12:9 "Love must be honest and true. Hate what is evil. Hold on to what is good."

Tom Picquet

Great service, friendly and helpful staff!

Chris Childers

Just tried making an appointment at 4:35 PM. Was told by the "after hours" staff in Dayton Ohio that appointments are not available when talking to after hours staff. Recommendation: expand your hours that appointments are available. 4:35 should not be considered "after hours." 4:35 is not really very late in the day, it would be normal for busy folks to call later in the day. Also, when the appointment center is available, please ask their employees to quit trying to discourage people from coming to the VA. This is a poor way to deal with your problem of being over-booked and too far out with appointments.

Nick Wivinus

Excellent care.

Daisy May

They are kind and professional

Nancy Nagell

We have always had very good care and service at the Minneapolis VA - Wait time for appointments sometimes is too long.

Wayne Butt

Love the care they give our Veterans!

Kalab Olson

Easy to navigate and get around.

Janet & Neil OConnell

Hospital is easy to find driving from Wisconsin. Friendly and helpful staff. Staff makes you feel like your the only one there. Top notch place with top notch service. Thank You VA staff

Arvid Thill

Outstanding! Prompt, polite, prepared, and professional in all they do. I had to go to emergency and from Deb, Jenny and Dr. Johnson I was treated with kindness respect and concern to make sure I was taken care of with the best care I’ve ever had. Even Kim in radiology was at the highest standards too. I love the VA Medical Center it’s one stop all under one roof it’s way better then active service and my wife was with she says it’s better than Fairview Ridges. As far from door to the treatment rooms and the best you went to pharmacy just down the hall. I’m glad to have served but man theas indiaviguals are the BEST! I hope more Vets apriciate the whole system that Bob Hope had invisioned for US VETS. God bless you all!

EatCrayola .

Kinda hard to find a genuinely compassionate person that really care about us vets they are just collecting theyre paycheck. That being said they do have a few angels but just a handful my opinion

Geri Blaeser

They ran tests until they found the problem then found the most effective and safe way to treat my father.

Frank Arnzen

Great care despite the gover

Cynthia Owre

Love this place

Sherri LaBrec

Amazing experience!! Dr. Park is such a compassionate man. He literally did everything he could do to help my father and made a scary situation so much better. Thank you Dr. Park

Jeffrey Nelson

Absolutely 5 stars! I have several serious conditions including COPD and mental health. I have found the staff to be very attentive to my needs, very professional, and I never have experienced any delays in receiving treatment. My understanding is that the Minneapolis VA Medical Center is one of the top 5 in the country. That rating is well deserved!

Carol Bruer
