Unfortunately I have to choose 1 star in order to leave a review, because if it were my way I do not believe this office deserves one. First and foremost, I have seen an abundance of dermatologists and let me tell you something, I have NEVER and I mean NEVER felt belittled or disrespected as I have here. As a customer, it is imperative that when I step into an office and pay for a service, I am receiving quality care and service.
I also need it to be known that I value my health and I do my best to be knowledgable and aware of any medications I am prescribed. After expressing my concerns Dr. Kauls of a prescription she prescribed and my reasons for my hesitation, not only did the nurse laugh at me but I then received unprofessional care from Dr. Kauls. She spoke to me extremely rude and argumentatively by saying she is a doctor and reads journals nightly and SHE knows not to ever prescribe anything that could be harmful to a patient. As she continues to make comments expressing her frustration due to my cautiousness, she then tells me I need to trust her and never question her recommendations. After I spend 20-30+ minutes in a waiting area and my visit takes less than 5 minutes there is no professional relationship and trust built. Ultimately, her tone, lack of empathy, AND CULTURAL INCOMPETENCY was incredibly disrespectful. As a woman of color, I would never recommend a visit to this clinic for the horrible services I have received.
Rule of advice, establish a genuine relationship with your patients, never belittle or disrespect your patients, and provide quality care.
