Not pleased. Waited 1 hour passed my appointment time and they hardly acknowledged it. Do they not realize people have full time jobs and cant spend multiple hours of a day at these appointments? Why do they keep scheduling so many appointment times when this is a consistent thing (I see many other reviews with similar issues). I waited an hour to only speak to Dr. Crutchfield for literally 5 minutes. While Dr. Crutchfield was in my room, one of the assistants came in telling Dr. that he had a phone call waiting for him.. so now the whole time I feel like he needs to leave and isn't really giving his full attention to my issue. He diagnosed me within 15 seconds of being in the room and started rambling off prescriptions to his assistant, without even explaining to me what I have and what that means. He seems like a nice guy but did not make me feel like my issue mattered. For paying this much for an appointment, I would hope for someone that listens and really cares about my issues. He didn't ask any questions or additional symptoms, he didn't ask the timeline of this issue or anything. Overall, was not happy leaving this office.

My review comes a few years later, however after seeing Dr. Crutchfield win the Top Doctor award in Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine, I thought I'd share my experience. I went in to see Dr. Crutchfield for moderate to severe acne. Having tried everything from diet change to antibiotics, nothing was helping. The nurse at Dr. Crutchfield's clinic spent a few minutes with me discussing my acne before the doctor came in. She introduced me to Accutane and told me it could potentially eliminate my acne. My excitement soon dissipated when she mentioned I'd have to clear a pregnancy test, sign up for iPledge, a program requiring me to take 2 methods of birth control and come in for regular blood testing to ensure my body is not having a bad reaction. WHAT!? When the nurse left, I started Googling Accutane and learned it was originally marketed as a chemotherapy drug. When Dr. Crutchfield entered the room with the nurse, I asked him why he would prescribe a chemotherapy drug for acne. He shot his nurse a disgruntled look and asked if she told me this information. She said no and Dr. Crutchfield proceeded to explain to me that it is not a chemotherapy and is safe to take. After much research on the drug, I decided not to proceed with treatment as the risk to me was not worth the reward. I also did not continue to see Dr. Crutchfield as jumping directly to strong prescription medication was not my idea of treatment. I am sure many have had success, it was simply not for me. I did purchase his homemade cleansing pads, which helped make my skin smoother.

The medical care and results are top-notch but expect to wait. And wait. You'll wait well past your appointment time despite the fact that Dr Crutchfield only spends about 5-10 minutes with you, leading me to believe the business model of the clinic is to heavily overbook and then bank on the fact that people will tough out the wait rather than reschedule since appointments book out months in advance. As well, the front desk staff seem truly uninterested in the people checking in. WiFi password didn't work despite several attempts and when informed of this their response was a half-hearted "Sorry about that." Not very impressive, and things have only gotten worse (wait times, disinterested staff) over the years.

Everytime I go to Dr Critchfield it's a waste of 1.5 hours of my day. He runs a factory- pumping out as many clients as he can. Expect to wait 30+ minutes to get in to see a nurse and then 30+ minutes to see him. Then only see him for 2 minutes. I legitimately leave in a bad mood because of the long wait, impersonal experience, and little progress that is made when I'm there.

The most incompetent front staff. I scheduled my appt in June or very early July and was scheduled for this appt for July 31st. They told me I can call back to see if there were any cancellations but my appt was for JULY 31st. I called back July 23rd to see if there were any cancellations. They said yes for July 25th at around 11. Ok cool. They ask for my CC number. I say I dont have my HSA card on me and I would call back with it. They said we cant hold the appt without a card, I said I would call back to give it some thought for the 24th. I call back like two hours later and they had cancelled my appt for the 31st and I could not get int for the 25th either. But I had already made the appt for the 31st Weeks PRIOR. I sent them a complaint and they never got back to me. Rude, inconsiderate and money hungry clinic. Too bad since he is one of the only black derms in MN and I prefer a black derm. What a disappointment.

I am in my late twenties and have had clear skin for most of my life. But since September, my skin was flaring up with use of the most gentle products, and seemed to get worse no matter what I tried. Then, I started seeing doctors. For months, I was confused, angry and in tears leaving the office of one doctor after the next. My face and scalp were red, itchy, flaky and full of bumps! Then, I was referred to Dr. Crutchfield. Within three weeks, I was symptom-free! I had no idea what I was suffering from because I was told different things from 4 different doctors, but Dr. Crutchfield looked me over (and, to my relief, took a biopsy at my first appointment!), and then explained that in his training at the Mayo Clinic (!!) he was told, "You can't treat a patient if you do not know what they are suffering from!" I immediately felt relieved and knew that I was in good care. After my second visit, and diligently using the creams, scalp oil, and oral prescription I was completely symptom free! It turns out, based on the biopsy and Dr. Crutchfield's visual diagnosis (a correct diagnosis, btw), I had been suffering from perioral dermatitis, seb. dermatitis, and melia. I would trust Dr. Crutchfield with any skin concern and I have already recommended him to my closest family and friends!

I have waited over eight months past the conclusion of my treatment so that I could give a full and thorough review. Symptoms: Acne since puberty. There is still never a time when there isn’t a pimple on my face. I have tried all the creams and scrubs. I want to get rid of this. Treatment: Accutane Total list of Side Effects or new physical ailments since starting the Accutane: Rash around nose, eyes, mouth, hands. Dry skin. Started getting Stye’s and chalazia’s (I’ve never had them before). Weakened muscles and joints. Easily injured, slow to heal. Weird dark spot in inner corner of left big toenail that makes my toenail grow out strange in that spot. That is finally just now going away. I didn’t think it was related to the Accutane but… google it. The first month of treatment I developed a skin rash on my hands, and around my nostrils. He described this as “Accutane induced eczema”. He prescribed a steroid cream that he made in house. A weaker one for the face and a stronger one for the hands. It worked okay at first but the rash around my nose kept coming back. I found that using a lotion with colloidal oatmeal worked just as good for the hands so I ended up using that instead and coincidentally, the rash didn’t come back on my hands. The rash on my nose however, kept coming back. After several months I developed tiny little bumps around my eyes. He kept giving me stronger and stronger steroid creams, the rash was a constant issue. He tested me for an auto immune disease (negative) and gave me even stronger, prescription steroids which worked great but the rash came back shortly after as I stopped using it. He put me on 2 rounds of prednisone (the prednisone did not got rid of the rash). At the end of my Accutane treatment, I thought the rash would go away. (I was on it for about 9 months.) It did not go away even after several months. I kept using the steroid creams I was prescribed, as prescribed. It got to the point where if I just went one day without using the steroids, I had horrible burning skin with tiny itchy bumps ALL over my face. It was painful, it was sore, it was UGLY. I started to look online. I wish I had done that sooner. I discovered that STEROID creams were BAD FOR YOU! If you want to know more about this, research “Steroid cream withdrawal” or “Topical Steroid Withdrawal” (TSW). Based on my research, I decided to stop using the steroids. The withdrawal period was intense. The flare ups would also come in spurts, but each time it came back, it was better than the last. Tea tree oil really helped. The first month was the worst. After about 3 months it improved a lot but I still had the rash around my nose and eyes. I decided to see another doctor. I believe that Dr. Crutchfield either didn’t know steroids were bad for you, or he did not care. I also feel that they since they produce all their own steroid creams, they might have a vested interest in distributing them. I went to an allergist to find out if I was allergic to anything (I am not). After about 6 months steroid cream free, I could tell that the steroid cream withdrawal was over, but I still had that original rash around my nose similar to when I first started Accutane. I asked my Dr. if I could try an antibiotic that I found in my research based on an article I found online written by “Three Rivers Dermatology & Windy Ridge” on “Perioral Dermatitis” (Some place in Indiana, I am not affiliated with them or know anything about them). The article basically described EXACTLY what I had been going through and it suggested trying the antibiotic “tetracycline” or “doxycycline”. I tried the doxycycline. It worked! No rash. It was a 7 day treatment. It has now been 2 months since then and my skin is clear, beautiful and healthy. I am very glad I went on the Accutane but I wish I would have NEVER let a steroid cream touch my skin. That was my experience. I hope this helps someone and for god’s sake GET A SECOND OPINION!

Overpriced, non effective services. My 16yr son, needed answers to premature hair loss. $600 dollars later, the answer is "take Propecia and use Rogain... you might experience regrowth." Wow Doc, thanks for the insights! If you have money to waste, Crutchfield is the place for you.

Don't waste your time here, unless you have all day to wait for your dermatology appointment. Plenty of other clinics that actually hold themselves accountable to seeing you at your appointment time. My favorite part about him is his optimism and genuine care for your skin. He will come into the room with a plan and gets you started right away. I recently started using the Crutchfield Dermatology Natural Face Cream and my face has never felt better. My skin is very sensitive and usually reacts badly to most moisturizers, but does not react badly to this cream. So my mother has been attending this office and seeing Dr. Crutchfield for a little bit now. There are issues which continue to happen and I am not understanding what type of business is being run at this point. First my mother was being treated for one thing with the medicine Humira (unknown to my mom and CLEARLY the damn doctor) you cannot take Humira at the same time you have taking some type of blocker medication because it can cause your body to react. Well being that the doctor and nurses are clearly too busy to pay attention to what medications their patients are on prior to prescribing them something else, my mom ended up getting psoriasis. NOBODY in our family has ever had psoriasis. If you don’t know psoriasis is painful and for my mom to happen to get it under the care of this physician office is RIDICULOUS! You would think being that the dermatologist office is mainly the reason they would be trying to do whatever in their power to help my mother, nope they just add on to her stress. Today they sent my moms confidential patient records to the wrong place and they were supposed to be sent last week. This is my last straw, Dr. Crutchfield and his office staff are the most unprofessional people that we have ever encountered and I am tired of my mother going through this pain when all could have been avoided if they paid attention to what they’re doing when it comes to taking care of their patients. I would NEVER recommend this dermatologist office to anyone I know and neither should you. Dr. Crutchfield does wonders! This was my first experience with Juvederm, or any kind of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Crutchfield was wonderful. He made me feel at ease and explained everything about the procedure thoroughly before we started. I had one syringe injected. He numbed me beforehand, so the actual procedure didn't hurt a bit. I couldn't feel a thing. I just had the procedure done a few days ago, so the swelling hasn't completely gone away yet but so far I am very pleased with the results.

After struggling with my daughters sometimes debilitating skin condition for 10 years and the never ending creams that NEVER worked, we finally came to see Dr. Crutchfield. For years her skin was bad...really bad. To the point where she would have to stay home from school for days at a time. He was able to come up with a plan that had her skin clear in 2 weeks!! He is absolutely amazing, extremely knowledgeable and he was very patient with my little girl that was so very frustrated with her skin. He answered all of her questions and concerns. In response to the "Owner's reply" below. I received a certified letter from Dr. Crutchfield's attorney that is very similar to this response, which also states that the clinic "would strongly prefer not to have to take outside action to correction the misleading claims." First of all, this is a public forum and my original post was MY perception of the clinic, it was not intended to mislead anyone. To clarify, the nurse on my first visit was very sweet, the nurse on my second visit was not. The dermatologist that referred me to Crutchfield indicated that she would expect Crutchfield to do a biopsy - this was never mentioned. On my second appointment, which I drove 1 hour each way to attend, I was put in a spa type room for about an hour. When I asked how much longer it would be, I was admonished by the nurse. When Dr. Crutchfield finally arrived, he spent maybe 5 minutes in the room with me. At both appointments, he mentioned bleach baths, but never explained how often/how much he recommended. He also seemed rushed, and when I attempted to ask questions regarding causes of my medical conditions, they were waved off with a brush of his hand. So of course, I indicated no further questions - he clearly didn't have time for that! Perhaps my high expectations led me to my disappointment. The response/letter claims that "a medical problem you had told him you had suffered from for 41 years was almost completely resolved." This is in reference to exzema, which he had treated me with steroids and antibiotics. Surely, it was clearing up, but anyone with this condition knows it is a chronic condition, therefore only manageable, not resolvable. My general practicioner could have, as has, prescribed the same course of treatment for flare ups. I don't believe that my OPINION is false, because it is my PERCEPTION. These public review forums are opinions!

My first appointment was good, doctor was very educated on what was wrong with my 6 month olds skin. Second appointment was a follow up for 2 weeks later. I had an appointment at 10:30, I got there at 10:20 to check in and 15 minutes past his appointment time and I go and ask why I haven’t been seen. Well there is a sheet that says 40 minute wai from his appointment time. K well why I did I set up an appointment for 10:30 if I won’t get seen until 11:10. (Mind you I have an infant with me, we can’t just sit and wait?!) so I asked is this normal, why was I not told about this when I made my appointment? She said we always tell people expect an hour wait, like no. No one told me this, I just drove 45 minutes to my appointment. I arrived early like everyone should. I cancelled my appointment because I can’t wait an extra 40 minutes or however long until 4 other people get seen before me. Next time make sure you tell people l, maybe I would have made my appointment for a later time, or arrived 40 minutes late. Will not be returning, bad communication between scheduling staff.

Posting because I have read some of the negative reviews and think they are silly. I came to Crutchfield Dermatology because I needed a discoloration taken off my nose and biopsied. He came in and was very quick and efficient. He told me what needed to be done and answered my questions. They numbed my nose and removed the patch that needed to be removed. I didn't have more than 10 minutes with the dr, but I didn't need to! He doesn't need a lengthy talk session with his patients, he isn't a therapist. My appointment was quick, but I was 100% confident that he knew exactly what he was doing. I appreciate that they "overbook" as clearly they have a ton of patients and the scheduling is done several months out as it is. Supply and demand, its common sense economics. He cannot clone himself, so instead he is short and to the point which enables him to HELP as many clients as possible. I am thankful for the results that I received that day. My adolescent daughter will be seen there in a few months for a birth mark that she needs removed. I will gladly plan for a long wait and short visit, because I know he is one of the best! I know that I can trust him with my daughter's care. If my medical doesn't cover a prescription he recommends then I will come up with the money because you cannot comprise quality when it comes to your health! :-)

I was very disappointed in the amount of time spent discussing my concerns and getting to know me as a patient (I was a new patient and it was my first visit). It was a very rushed and an impersonal interaction. Very few questions were asked of me and my prior medical history. I was only given one treatment option, and Dr. Crutchfield was out of the exam room before I could even ask questions (or even have time to understand the recommended treatment plan). On top of it all, the wait times were long and I felt like I was just a number at this clinic. I will be taking my medical care to another clinic.

I went to Dr. Crutchfield for acne issues after hearing a lot about them on the radio. I wish I could say I had a good experience, but that wasn't really the case. He was very nice but after waiting for more than an hour, he spent no more than 3-5 minutes in the room with me. He didn't ask me to take off my makeup or even really glance at my acne issue. He just recommended Accutane right off the bat which is a very serious medication. I didn't feel like I was given any other options. I refused to buy the pads they recommended but was still charged for them, which I understand can be a simple mistake. I was really hoping to get personalized care and options but unfortunately did not receive that.

I've been seeing Dr Crutchfield for 5 years for psorasis. He cleared it in 30 days with systemic drugs - while other Dr's just kept giving me creams that did no good - for years! I was really glad I found him. From my experience, if you want real results, Dr Crutchfield has an aggressive approach that works. Some have complained about the wait time - to me it's worth it for expert treatment, and secondly he has improved it significantly.

I kept this situation private until Dr. Crutchfield had his attorney issue me a cease and desist as you will see in reading these reviews, its his common practice for those who are disatisfied with his work, staff, incompetence. Charles stands firm believing in who he knows to act as bully for his abuse of ethics, power and law. Id like to show various pics of my hands, starting with swelling and a small rash on back of hands from first week in February when I visited Dr. Charles Crutchfields office. As of 3/24/18 they now look like hamburger and ever growing rash. I considered Dr. Crutchfield a friend as he has been a fan of mine on Facebook for many years and has always shown interest in and support for my work in Neurobiologics. I post this with a heavy and hurt heart. Deeply disappointed in how this man portrays himself vs. How he actually conducts himself. Dr. Crutchfield has been my dermatologist for a handful of years as I have some small patches of psoriasis. When I went to him in the first part of February (first pic) he prescribed something my insurance would not cover. My pharmacist let him and his staff know, and after waiting a week for them to respond, they asked me to call him. I did so, and literally begged his trauma nurse line voicemail to resolve this and end my suffering, my case had gotten much worse. This after calling the on-call doctor over the weekend and never getting a return call. To no avail, I emailed Dr. Crutchfield personally that evening, and with the tone of a friend, sharing concerns of his staff which had also been of concern previously. I appealed to him for help. Dr. Crutchfield replied and told me I am no longer his patient and literally blamed me IN WRITING that I should have forked out the $420 for his recommendation rather than ask him to offer an alternative than that my insurance would cover. I then suffered one of his staff stalking me on Linkedin and reported this to him via email. I am told that due to Crutchfield dropping the ball that my situation with my hands have now become so out of control it may take up to a year to resolve, but is more likely to be permanently chronic. I haven't had time to share this truth or make Google comments or complaints to the medical Board and FDA yet. Frankly, I had hoped Dr. Crutchfield would handle this by doing the right thing and taking accountability. Saturday evening I received an email from his attorney cronie from U of M board of regents, Darrin Rosch, a cease and desist!!!!!!! Dr. Crutchfield has used this tactic on many others as well. Minnesota medical Board complaint, FDA Complaint for selling improperly labeled pharmaceuticals from his office and gross negligence are realities in my case. And I've learned from researching him here and other places online that this is typical stuff for this guy. Oh and P.S. the Top Doctors, Super Doctors and Super Lawyers thing is just a marketing scheme ans hiatle that docs and Lawyers pay 10-100 thousand dollars to get pretend recognition as a Super or Top professional to grow their practices. It is managed by a marketing company called 5 Star. Google it.

It's true that Dr. Crutchfield is a knowledgeable professional, however, he runs his office like a crisis center - overbooked with a frantic atmosphere. That culture may work on the East coast, but is misplaced in the Midwest. The décor is upscale, but the façade doesn't compensate for the "line 'em up" feeling you get as just another number in a room. I'm confident I can find another clinic that's more engaged with the patient than this one.

It is apparent that the concerns shared about scheduling and wait times are legitimate and cannot be dismissed as silly and unreasonable. It does not take away from the fact that Dr. Crutchfield is an excellent dermatologist and that once seen by him we do get the best care and excellent results. We have sat in that waiting area, in close proximity for long periods of time and communicated with each other and are aware that multiple people do get scheduled for the same time slot. My hope is that this recurring concern that clearly has been frustrating to a lot of us with appointments on the medical side can be met with empathy by the scheduling staff and rectified.

I have been seeing Dr. Crutchfield for many years, even before he opened his clinic in Eagan. It is true that wait times can be long. The staff try to let you know right away if he is behind schedule. But part of the reason for this is, if you need to be treated right away for a condition that may not have been clear when you came in, he still makes sure you are taken care of. He also is a training ground for medical professionals. This may be frustrating for some as it takes a little more time, but it is also educational for me as a patient. The end result is I have received excellent care for several conditions. I had a scalp condition which caused me to lose about 30% of my hair, many in large patches. This was a traumatic situation for me. Dr. Crutchfield didn't give up. He assured me we would find a treatment plan and today I have the condition completely under control -- with 100% of my hair back to normal. He has also treated me for "age spots," crows feet, and rosacea -- all with great results. I can't thank him enough for being in my corner. He is now our go to dermatologist for my entire family.

There is even a tent card on the desk when you check in telling you the wait time, so this kind of wait is a usual practice. Dr. Crutchfield is the best dermatologist I have ever had!! I have hand eczema and it completely disappeared when I was being treated by him. I recently moved and I can't find a doctor even close to the wonderful work he does! I am thinking about flying back up there to MN just to have him as my doctor again. THANK YOU DR. I would never, not even remotely, recommend this dermatologist to anyone. I came in with a very sensitive skin condition, that I was clearly shook up about. Upon waiting over an hour past my appointment, Crutchfield almost storms in with an agenda upon taking one glimpse at me. I had been to a dermatologist before, and upon being perplexed by my symptoms and what I was experiencing with my skin, he referred me to the worst possible Doctor; one that does not perform under the clutch, but has protocols memorized and does not look at each patient in a unique way- we are all the same at his office. He categorizes you so he can easily send you off with prescriptions while promoting his own products, without taking the time and care to listen to you. I am extremely disgusted and disappointed that a doctor has been able to attain such recognition. But, as they say, it's who you know, who you associate with and alllll about the dollar. Money breeds opportunity and image- everything this clinic reeks of. It's not the talent of this doctor that draws you in- it's the glamour of the media, and with that said, take caution before spending your time and dollar on this doctor.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I showed up on time for my appointment (as we are told) and I had to an hour before I was even called back, then I had to wait another 1/2 hour to actually talk to the doctor who spent less then 5 minutes with me, didn't listen to my issue, and didn't answer any of my questions... didn't talk to me about the procedure I wanted done. Then I asked the nurse to give me a quote about the procedure I wanted done, and it was 4 times what I had asked the receptionist when I called, and I made the appointment based upon the quote I was given by the receptionist. On top of all of this, I had to pay out of pocket for the office visit because he was out of my network, so I had to pay $123 for NOTHING!!!! They over book their appointments and just expect people to wait for him as if our time is not important. I have a job that I had to take time off from and he had no respect for his patient's time. I was also never told prior to this appointment that there is usually an hour or more wait time. I can't believe this man stays in business.

Had a very disappointing visit late last week. I specifically asked for an early appointment or a late appointment for my son to avoid missing school. They were able to get him in at 8am. Dr. Crutchfield didn't even get into the room until 8:47. Had a 2 minute consult, then waited another 10 minutes for the nurses to come back with what we needed. Went to check out, finally, at 9:07. I realized I left my HSA debit card at home and asked if I could take the product with me, drop my son off at school (which he was now late for), and call in with my card. The receptionists refused and said 'You can't take a product without paying for it', to which I responded 'If I don't call you back in an hour, charge my card you have on file for no-shows, etc'. They still said no. Now I'm really upset. I left the product, took my son to school, went home to get my card, drove all the way back and paid for it. Horrible wait times, absolutely no common sense or grace on paying for something, I have no intention of ever going back. Last time I was there with my son we also had almost an hour wait to see the doctor. I understand you're busy. But set proper expectations. Don't tell me 8am and make me wait 47 minutes before you get to the room.

If I could half a star I would. I waited in the crowded lobby for an hour and 15 minutes. When I finally was called Dr. Crutchfield maybe spent5 min with me, did not even inform me that the short procedure he was about to perform could leave possible scarring. When everything was done I was then asked to pay cash for a cream that wasn’t even a prescription, could have been lotion for all I knew. What a horrible experience! It’s amazing he is still in business.

I saw Dr. Crutchfield for acne and the appointment went great! The front desk staff were lovely and helpful, the nurses were kind and listened to everything I said, and Dr. Crutchfield himself was wonderful. He knew exactly what the best course of action would be, but still gave me options. I can't wait to start the new regime, including some spa treatments which I know will be great because I've gotten a facial there before. Really great place to go!

Our family has been going to Dr. Crutchfield for skin matters for years. He is the most personable, effective physician I have ever known or known of. Great facilities, service, and most importantly, medical results. I highly recommend. UPDATED: Dr. Crutchfield is a true professional, and his staff was so kind and comforting. His skill set is matchless, and I would never go anywhere else after my experience with this Clinic. There was a delay, but a staff member came out and offered cookies and bottled water to everyone in the lobby. I came in for a cosmetic consultation, and he was honest about what he could and could not do for me, and even provided the name and contact information for another practitioner to treat an issue that he could not. This impressed me tremendously and confirmed his ethics and integrity as a physician. The work he did perform was phenomenal. He answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable going forward with the recommended treatment plan. He is an absolute perfectionist and really went out of his way to make sure I was happy with my results. It was really important to me that the person performing this type of cosmetic treatment was very experienced, and based on his level of experience, he very easily recommended a protocol to address my "wish list" of improvements. While some may feel that there is not enough face time, it is clear that this doctor has the background, knowledge, and expertise to expeditiously make recommendations that are consistently effective. Other doctors have always tried to up-sell me some service or product, but Dr. Crutchfield recommended a conservative plan that was tailored to my needs. If you want outstanding care and results, you will not receive better value anywhere else.

To this day I remain very disappointed with the care I received from Crutchfield Dermatology. After being diagnosed with Psoriasis, I first selected Crutchfield. It quickly became evident that Dr. Crutchfield appears more interested in cramming as many appointments in as possible rather than spending a little time with his patients. First appointment was less than five minutes (not the 15 that he advertises), after that two minutes at best. The final straw for me was when HE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO ENTER THE ROOM! He simply opened the door, asked a few general questions to his assistant (nothing to me), and closed the door; appointment over in 20 seconds without saying two words to me! That was my final appointment. Others have made similar complaints. I've since received excellent care elsewhere by a doctor who seems genuinely interested in my health.

First of all, the wait time is ridiculous. I don't think that just because he is a center for trainees, it should take an hour past your scheduled time to see him. He makes no effort to make a patient-dr. rapport. He is far too busy for that. He walks in and out of the doors as if they're revolving. With no success to the treatment plan ($100.00 later within a week's time), I was left with nothing but a phone call from a NP. She had no good answer for me being as I reacted to the treatment plan Dr. Crutchfield put me on. I asked, "Well, would he like to see me? Where do we go from here?" She proceeded to tell me a follow-up wouldn't hurt & Dr. Crutchfield made no such suggestion or plans on seeing me. I'm very disappointed in his office, especially for being the #1 Dermatology in the state. With experience to Dermatologists & my condition, they're nothing but cosmetically concerned, Band-Aid providing (for specific conditions) Dr.'s at the end of the day. DO NOT wait 4 months to see him. He will do & provide what any other Dermatologist out there would do.

Honestly I don't think it's that bad of a place plus looking at the reviews, people obviously get good results from here. But I didint like how they said they had to remove part of my skin from my head then send it to a lab and come back 2 weeks later to see if it's a genetic problem for my hair loss. I just wanted a treatment I could use like my friend used. Really liked that atmosphere here though. Great employees.

I've been to Crutchfield Dermatology for a couple of issues I had and I can tell you that my experience with Dr. Crutchfield was extremely dissapointing. I've been to many different doctors and I am a healthcare provider myself. The minimum wait time in the waiting area is one hour with an appointment. And then once the nurse takes you to the treatment room and checks you out, there's another 10-30 minutes of waiting for Dr. Crutchfield to come in. this is a doctor that is money-driven and too busy for all of this patients. Every time I have visited, Dr. Crutchfield gives you a minute to talk, and speaks for a couple of minutes, then rush out. One time, I came in for an injection on my scalp for localized hair loss, and he couldn't find it and flew out of the room without giving me a chance to show him where it is. Then I showed it to the nurse, and it took 30 minutes for her to get Dr. Crutchfield back to the room. Secondly, Dr. Crutchfield will try to sell medications that he "developed", which I found later that I can buy very similarly formulated ones from Walgreens. In my last visit, I went in for an injection again, then at the end of appointment he asked me whether I have any other questions. I answered by asking him about a previous medication he had prescribed for a skin rash which didn't work, and then he immediately suggested that I should buy one of his other medications. I refused to get the prescription and left, only to find out that I was charged $120 for him answering that ONE question and prescribing me something else.

I have been receiving cosmetic treatments from Dr. Crutchfield for the past 8 years. I would never think of ever letting anyone else perform treatments on me. His approach is to make sure you look natural and never "overdone". He is very honest about what you need to get the results you are wanting to achieve and will not "over treat", gradual is better. He is a perfectionist and his work shows it! The best part is HE is the one performing the injections and makes sure you are completely happy with the results. He also performs complimentary touch ups if needed, but needless to say, I have never needed one! I am also ecstatic with my results, Highly recommend! I also have had many spa procedures performed in the beautiful MediSpa upstairs and my skin has never looked so good by following his skin fitness program! LOVE IT! Some people complain about the wait but I haven't been to an appointment whether it's medical, dental, car repair where I don't have to wait. Honestly, I don't mind it! During the workday and after, life is nonstop, working, getting groceries, running the kids to sports, cleaning...I actually get a lot done while I wait. I answer emails, pay bills and even get to read a magazine. It's all what you make of it and how you plan for it. For the quality of care I get, the results and the expertise it's worth it! You MUST try his new natural face cream too!

I have struggled with a debilitating skin condition for more than 30 years, and have seen my share of dermatologists. I have to say that Dr. Crutchfield is the only one that showed me respect, kindness, and the concern to treat my ailment. Dr. Crutchfield listened to my concerns and saw to it that, after 30 years I could finally have some relief. Is there a wait? Most the time they're backed up. But when you're seeing the one of best dermatologist in the nation, expect a wait.. I Does it seem like an assembly line atmosphere? To some it probably does, but in those five minutes Dr. Crutchfield knew the root causes of my issue, and the best course of action. One other thing: he empathized. After so many dollars spent on dermatologists who didn't want to hear my problems and didn't care how my condition was ruining my life, just having someone understand helped me tremendously. Dr. Crutchfield isn't for everyone, but I don't think there's a dermatologist who is better.
