I’d save your energy and find a different dermatologist clinic. They are very inefficient on returning calls. Also, I was treated like a number (just someone they were going to make a profit off of). I was treated very very poorly and when I called to express my frustrations with the way they were treating me and how no one has contacted me back about my appointment - and the woman showed she truly just didn’t care. My whole family used to go here and never had issues before, so I decided to give them a shot. I will never make that mistake again!! If you truly care about your skin - find a different clinic who will care about YOU.

I was seen for a suspicious lesion and ended up having a very large excision on my nose. The Mohs procedure was well done. However, when I went back the next day for my reconstruction I had a different experience. I was given a little dose of something to "make me forget the pain" but it didn't work at all. I had at least 30 extremely painful shots in my nose and forehead with no pain control medication whatsoever. My mother was given a barf bag to hold for me because "sometimes our patients throw up halfway through because of the pain". At the end of the procedure Dr. Shah told me that I could go back to work that day, and told me to take Advil/Tylenol. Both my eyes swelled shut, and I was out for a week from work because I couldn't see. Dr. Shah's partner eventually gave me some prescription pain medication a few days later, but Dr. Shah scolded me the next day and told me to immediately start weaning off. When I researched the procedure, I learned that most doctors use general anesthesia for the procedure. I think Dr. Shah did a great job surgically, but as for pain control, I was extremely disappointed. I will be giving this feedback to my doctor who referred me. Also, the office demanded either my credit card to keep on file, or a $250 deposit. I have insurance that paid everything except the copay, and was being treated for a cancerous lesion, not anything cosmetic. I was assessed a copay for the second day's treatment, and the office charged my credit card for the copay without asking my permission. When I questioned them, they told me that I had signed the "HIPPA" form which gave them permission to do this. I think this was misrepresentation of the nature of the HIPPA form, and this was not explained fully while I was signing my forms.

I enjoy seeing the same nurse and doctor every visit because it allows them a chance to understand your skin history and treat it correctly. I went to Clarus Dermatology to have a bump on my nose examined. Dr. Shah examined it and suggested that I leave it. He said he could remove it but that would be cosmetic and it looked fine as is. Come back if I wanted it removed for a couple hundred $. That didn't sit well so several months later I went to another dermatologist for a second opinion and she immediately told me that I need to remove it and have a biopsy done to check for cancer. Turns out it was a basal cell carcinoma which has resulted in me having Mohs surgery and flap repair with stitches. Maybe they are ok with basic dermatology but if had I listened to them, this cancer could have continue to spread and caused even more damage to my nose. What an epic misdiagnosis!

HIDDEN CHARGES DO NOT expect to pay what you are verbally told the cost of service will be. There are other charges hidden in the paperwork you have to sign. Be sure to read EVERYTHING because no one in that office cares to help you understand the process. I have now paid DOUBLE what I was told my care would cost.

Pretty frustrated as my experience led to disappointment. I had an appointment scheduled at 8 am, with confirmation texts and emails to prove it. I showed up at 7:45 am to be told that my appointment had been cancelled due to weather. I have no voicemails nor emails from Clarus to have let me known about my cancellation. I was the second patient to show up, have their appointment cancelled, and not know of it. When I finally got a call at 8:45 am, she said my appointment was not until 9:30 am. It's sad that I am looking at all of my confirmation messages from Clarus that say 8 am, which is what we confirmed on the phone when I made the appointment. Poor customer service all around.

I went to see Dr Shah in 2015 for a routine skin check because I had moved to the area. I had a raised mole on my nostril that would get irritated every winter. My prior dermatologist wasn't too worried about it. Dr Shah examined it and a biopsy revealed a basal cell carcinoma, which would require Mohs surgery. I was pretty worried because there was no way to know how much would need to be removed. I had the surgery and Dr Shah also took some cartilage from my ear so that my nostril wouldn't collapse. Dr Shah followed up with a laser treatment to make the skin look better, and the scar is fairly minimal. I highly recommend Dr Shah and Clarus, all of the staff and nurses I have dealt with there have been outstanding!

Worst clinic experience ever. Support staff pays no attention to patients. Despite giving them my ID at the time of my appt, they completely mangled my last name. When I received the lab report for my mole biopsy, it recommended a re-excision to include the margins. No one from the clinic followed up with me. I took it upon myself and called the clinic to schedule a follow-up appt, but it is impossible to actually get a live person on the phone regardless of time of day. I am still waiting for a call back from them. The doctors may be great but the office is managed poorly. I've never experienced this lack of patient concern at any other clinic.

Just horrible customer/ patient service I called the st Anthony location and they said to go to the new hope location so I called them on a Friday and I was told I can come in on a Monday they also said they have a location that’s closer ( when I asked the st Anthony clinic they said they didn’t, which was rather confusing) anyway since i said I’d like that location and when I got there I was told I didn’t have an appointment after waiting for a really long time they “ made a mistake.” And I did have an appointment but not with a dermatologist, they sent me to a regular doctor who said they couldn’t do anything for me and they’d secdule anothet appointment. So many complications and rude people just a waste of time really.

Drove the 45-50 minutes to Clarus as opposed to the dermatologists near me because their reviews were so good. I can see why they've been rated so high! I'll definitely be going back. Not only is the clinic extremely clean, everyone I came in contact with was personable and helpful. The doctor and his assistant made sure all my questions were answered, even checking twice to be sure they'd covered any concerns of mine; I never felt rushed, which is so appreciated when you're deciding on a procedure. Biggest thing that warmed my heart tho was I went in to have a couple small moles removed from my face (purely cosmetic) and the doctor said he typically encourages patients to not remove moles unless necessary. He was happy to do it per my request but doesn't feel a need to remove every mole in sight. That's not the message you typically hear at dermatologists/doctors, who practically hunt for things to tack onto your bill. He and his assistant did an excellent job. I was also impressed with the caring manner of the doctor's assistant who informed me of each part of the procedure before doing it so I felt completely at ease. Long story short, I was delighted with my experience at Clarus and will definitely use them again in the future. Many thanks to them!

Dr. Roelke Is great! I came in a few months ago and in the first visit he explained everything that was going on, prescribed me a medication for my skin, and asked if I had any other concerns. Saw the doctor in November which went just fine . However the nurse did not send in the form for a very expensive medication I needed. The follow through was terrible. Had to do all the work to get my medications myself. Have to pay a 263$ bill for the nurse totally dropping the ball. I was not able to start my medication until January, so that is two more months I had to suffer with a very painful condition. Staff need to be retrained and understand these are people’s lives they are working with.

I've dealt with painfully raw skin on my hands for decades. I've gone for help else where through out the years, but never had improvement. Dr. Roelke treated me professionally, kindly and with results! I'm more than thrilled. To be able to use my hands as they are intended, is huge for me. Dr. Roelke's manner was wonderful. So, I brought my Mother in to see him ( she's in her 80's), to be checked for skin cancer. She did in fact, have skin cancer. The entire staff treated her so well. They explained clearly what to expect. The staff made it as easy for her as they could. She did very well. This was on her face, so everything was done to have the results show little. Much care was taken. My Mom is very pleased with the concern they gave to achieve the smallest scar line, in the least noticeable area. Both of us are very pleased with our outcome and would recommend Dr. Roelke and Dr. Shaw, along with their knowledgeable staff, to our family and friends. I read other reviews. Dr. Shaw did have a different manner when I saw him near 2 yrs ago. He is very good at his job. Our last few encounters, his manner has reached his skill level. Both up to par.

Dr. Shah is one of the best doctors around. He is clearly and expert in dermatology, but takes the entire health of a patient into account when making decisions. The office staff are great as well. At Clarus, it's obvious that they have your best interests at heart.

Nice staff and nice facility. The doctors and PA’s seem to know what they’re doing, but so do most doctors/PA’s.The reason I’m giving them a low score is due to their billing policy. They do NOT send invoices explaining what was done and what the costs are. They expect the patient to look up the explanation of benefits through their insurer to get an idea of their costs, and your credit card is charged whether you approve or dispute a claim. They also require a credit card to be in their system before they will even see a patient(no checks?).

I had a much different experience than others describe. I saw Dr. Shah for some dermatology concerns and he was really rude to me. I am being treated by another specialist for Lyme Disease and most people who know a little about Lyme's knows that there are some major controversies in the way in which to treat Lyme. I completely understand and accept that. However, Dr. Shah came in the room with guns drawn saying that there is no such thing as long-term Lyme or needing to be treated long-term for it. I let him know that I understand that there are different perspectives on it, but he remained argumentative and even went so far as to put down my other doctor. I said that she used to work at Mayo and that is when he said, "well, there's a reason she's no longer at Mayo" - he hardly let me get in to say that she had left Mayo to start her own practice. There are always going to be doctors who disagree on treatment plans, but that shouldn't ever affect the way a patient is talked to or respected. And I find it also interesting that he is so certain about a disease that isn't even in his area of expertise. I will not be seeing Dr. Shah again and will let my referring doctor know about his treatment towards me (she is not the one treating me for Lyme's).

I was impressed the minute I walked through the door. The staff at the front desk was kind and courteous. I did not have to wait beyond my appointment time to get called in to see the doctor. His nurse was very, very kind, understanding, and professional. When the doctor came in he, also, was very professional. He shook my hand and introduced himself, which I liked very much. Then he looked at my sore, and he knew right off the bat what was wrong. The condition has a huge long name that of which rolled right of his tongue. That gave me immense confidence in his abilities. He asked the nurse to get me set up for a biopsy, which she did in a sweet and gentle manner. She was excellent. I wish I could remember her name. He did the biopsy quick and explained what to expect next. All in all I think Clarus Dermatology is an excellent place to go if one needs that sort of treatment. I recommend them highly.

This Clinic is a TOP NOTCH Dermatology Center for skin care. I was recommended to this Clinic and DR. Shah through my Personal Physician. There was a spot on my face that wasn't healing. I was a little nervous about it going in but the atmosphere of the Staff, Nurses and DR Shah was refreshing. The spot was removed (Skin Cancer). I was very surprised what it was and all though after seeing it when finished, I was shocked at how much was removed. Thanks to DR Shah with his Professional Knowledge,Talents, Experiences and his Nurses it healed with no problems and after a year you can hardly see the surgery done. I did a follow up a year later. He visually checked my skin out, no skin cancer but saw a Mole which we decided to have sampled. Its truly understandable how this Clinic, Doctors, Nurses and Staff are rated highly in Minnesota.

I was able to schedule my appointment and locate the office easily. The receptionist greeted my very nicely. I was taken in to the exam room within one minute of my appointment time. All of the staff was friendly and efficient. The physician patiently answered my lengthy string of questions. I will be going back to this provider.

It's a clean, modern facility and surprisingly easy to get an appointment as compared to other dermatologists. That said, your time with the doctor is around 5 minutes tops. The doctor breezes in, "listens" to your concerns for about 30 seconds, suggests a course of action, and breezes out. It's also pretty expensive comparatively--the most expensive bill I've had for an appointment all year for that meager 5 minutes. Will not be going back.

Not a good experience, I am questioning if they even know what they are really doing at this place. Everyone seems to pass the buck by not taking responsibility & it seems like they are more interested in getting you in their office for money then to actually help you with your issue. Once you've paid good luck getting any issues addressed, It took them over 2 weeks to call back regarding an issue I had at my follow up visit & to make matters worse it felt like i was being pressured into a sale for them because they wanted me to come back in so badly & pay another copay so they can fix their wrong. Yeah right, Why so I may incur more bills while they figure out left from right & if they medication they gave me is even working. Needless to say that I am currently looking for a different dermatology specialist.

Although Dr Shah himself is great and I have had great results from him, his office staff are terrible. I originally had an appointment booked in November at the Minnetonka North Memorial Clinic for removing 2 skin cancers. I had to cancel and reschedule due to a work trip. I tried doing it on line, and got a call from the office saying they were confused as to what I wanted. I told them I was trying to reschedule for the St Anthony clinic and was put on hold. The staff member asked about what procedure it was for, and I told her, then she said she would check, put me on hold again, came back on and said I was all set. I showed up for the appointment as confirmed by the office and was told that they did not have time to do the procedure because I booked it wrong! They looked through the notes after I got upset, and saw that this was confirmed with me but never booked. No apologies at all. So they rebooked me for today, October 25th. When I arrived and was brought in back, they asked which cancer I wanted to remove today. I told them that it was supposed to be both. Her response was "your insurance doesn't cover both here, only at the Minnetonka clinic, you will have to come back for the other one" When I complained that no one told me that, otherwise I would have booked Minnetonka, she just shrugged and turned me over to the CMA who would prep me. Dr Shah, please do something about your team, I really don't want to leave!

Clarus Dermatology was very helpful when I called concerned about stitches my daughter had just gotten on her face. When I was concerned the stitches were spreading and about what that would mean for the scarring on her face, I was able to get an appointment right away. I went here 4 years ago for a skin irritation on my scalp. The doctor took one glance at it and said it was dermatitis and there was nothing that could be done other than using a special prescription shampoo. Fast forward 3 years of scalp irritation and being uncomfortable and I go to see a different dermatologist who does a thorough examination, says it’s NOT dermatitis and prescribed me betamethasone lotion which clears it up in two weeks! I lived for 3 years with that! Always, always, always get a second opinion. Doctors aren’t gods like they think they are and most don’t take the time to connect with patients as they are too busy trying to pack as many patients into their practice as they can. Thanks for sending me that spam email, I’ve been meaning to write a review but could not for the life of me remember the business name.

The other day I developed a painful cyst on my cheek. I called Clarus and they were able to get me in same day due to someone rescheduling. I saw Dr. Roelke. I had a concern about a mole on my temple and my regular doctor referred me to Clarus Dermatology. Dr. Roelke looked at the mole and determined that it was cancerous. He explained what he was going to be doing to remove the mole and he talked to me during the procedure to let me know how it was going. I felt comfortable and reassured that I was in the right place to have the mole removed. I went back for a full body scan to make sure there were no other skin issues. Somehow, someway the Drs.and staff at the Clarus Derm make you feel like your a part of who they are.
