I had retinal repair surgery last year. It caused a cataract in my left eye. Dr Gess did cataract surgery in my left eye to correct it. 3 months later, he did a YAG posterior capsulotemy to correct another side-effect of the retinal repair surgery. I think Dr Gess is the most amazing doctor. Getting my eyes worked in caused me some anxiety. But he has such a pleasant and calm demeanor that it put me at ease. He was patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. His schedulers are very organized. The reception staff are polite. The nurses are pleasant and know their stuff. They answered a lot of questions too. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Gess and the staff at West Metro in Golden Valley. I also had a great experience with the surgical staff at Philips Eye Institute at 2215 Park Ave, Mpls.

Dr. Gess is absolutely the best. He answered every question I had, reassured me throughout the process, and has great bedside manner. He was empathetic to my situation and he gave me something I've never had in my life--the ability to open my eyes and see! Since my first visit to my last, he was honest and open. We knew going into the surgeries that my vision wouldn't be perfect but it is now correctable and it brought me to tears when I opened my eyes and could see without coke bottle lenses. Thank you Adam for your surgical skills and compassion. The staff at West Metro Ophthalmology also deserve recognition. They were patient with all my questions, scheduled my appointments to meet my availability, and were reassuring to my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Gess and his team.

Dr. gess performed cataract surgery on both eyes. I just had my final post-op exam last week and my vision is a bit better than 20/20, everything is sharp and bright. I wasn't expecting this great of a result, but I thank the Lord and Dr. Gess, my go-to Dr. forever!

I had cataract surgery in both eyes the last week in September and first week in October. The surgeries went just great. Dr Gess is so thorough- I think he ran test I have never had before. He answered every question I had and some I didn’t know I had. His office staff was cordial and welcoming, and his assistants were extremely knowledgeable. The outcome is I hardly need glasses. I would recommend Dr Gess to anyone. In fact my husband sees him now.
